Nice trip but some issues

Our tour guide was great. She was very informative and had such a positive attitude. The time allotment is too short - the tour should be extended by at least a half hour. There was a last minute bus switch and the WiFi didn’t work so we were unable to view the presentation on our phones.

Great experience for Art Lovers

The tour guide provided lots of relevant information on the way there so we could better appreciate Monet’s home. Although there were lots of people we were still able to take good photos.

Elise - our tour guide was amazing and so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Would recommend using City Wonders for anyone else thinking of visiting Monet's House and gardens which are as beautiful as his paintings depict.

Too brief

We had a nice experience buecause Monet's house and gardens are really beautiful and but it was too expensive just for 5.5 hours, wich 3 h were for transport. We only had 2 hours to visit Giverny (you will only have time to visit the house and the gardens).

Liz was a good guide who was patient and explained everything in details Ride was pleasant as well there and pick up point was relatively easy to find.

Monet’s Garden

Monica is excellent! One of the prettiest places I have ever been. Could use more time to see. I think they should lengthen the stay. Other than that great.

A great way to visit Monet's house and garden.

The bus was comfortable and was a fast and efficient way to travel to Giverny. Kadir was an efficient and informative guide. He gave clear instructions and was approachable and patient. We had sufficient time to see Monet's house and garden and a little of the village.

Book Your Trip to Giverny

The tour was exactly as described on the viator site. Kadir, our kind guide, lead us through a slideshow and spoken history of Monet’s life as we journeyed out of Paris and on to Giverny. Personally, I appreciated not worrying about the transportation out of Paris and back. Taking the bus was easy! We had enough time to throughly walk the gardens, tour the house, shop in the gift shop, stroll the main walk through town, and have lunch at Au Coin du Pain. Delicious! Split the sandwich combo. We didn’t have time to go to the museum or Monet’s grave. Yes, I would have enjoyed more time, but my family was content with the time we had. Giverny is beautiful and not to be missed! We traveled on a Monday in early June. Water lilies grew in the pond and poppies sprung up everywhere amongst foxgloves, roses, and others. The crowds were manageable. It would be wonderful if the bus pickup was moved closer to central Paris but I’m sure the traffic would have been worse. Give yourself extra time to walk and navigate if you are coming from the metro like we did.

Great gardens but tour was too short

The gardens were the best. The house was okay. Need more time to do everything including eating. I leaned more about Monet.

Fabulous tour of Monet’s garden!

Georgia led a fantastic tour. The tour was well-organised & fun. We enjoyed the journey out of Paris in a comfortable coach & found out a lot about Monet. Georgia’s commentary was outstanding, informative & fun. We all enjoyed the tour very much. Georgia offered to take pictures of all passengers as they stood on the iconic bridge in Monet’s garden so often seen in his paintings. . Great value! 5 stars!

Great trip. Well worth the money. The garden and house are spectacular, and have the most wonderful energy. Has to be experienced to understand. A really lovely afternoon. Ratri was our tour guide. She is extremely knowledgeable. She gave us a history of Monet and Giverny before we arrived at the house and gardens. This was great to ‘set the scene’. On our return to Paris she spoke to us about the history of France, some of the monarchy, and particular landmarks. It was all very interesting. I enjoyed her fun facts! Throughly enjoyed this trip X x

Well worth the Monet !!

This tour was excellent! Monet’s house and Giverny was well worth the visit. Ratri was the most knowledgeable tour guide, who shared lots of insight both about art and Monet himself, and the history of Paris, which was amazing! Would definitely recommend 10/10.

Beautiful Monet

Beautiful gardens and peaceful, spent nearly an hour wandering around enjoying all the poppies, lilies and more. Ratri our guide was very informative & friendly

Great tour!

Tour was great with a nice comfortable bus to and from Giverny. The Monet House and gardens were beautiful as well as the tiwn. Our tour guide Ratri was amazing providing food history of giverny and Paris as well as recommendations for other activities.

Good but I'd advise others to choose differently if you are expecting a full tour

Nice day spent getting out of busy Paris to enjoy the southern Normandy town of Giverny. The town was beautiful in early June, as were Monet's gardens. There are a lot of tour groups which slow down the pacing of the grounds and house tours (you will shuffle through the house with the crowd, just like you do at the Louvre). The house and grounds are well-kept, there are ample restroom facilities, and a huge gift shop. The town has some other museums and restaurants to explore as well, all very quaint and charming. We really would have enjoyed some extra time in town, in hindsight. Be aware that this really isn't a tour - the leader (ours was James, who was great) talks to you on the bus ride (1.5 hrs-ish) up there from Paris, and then you're on your own for the grounds and house. His advice/info was helpful, but we really didn't have much context on sights in the house or grounds once we got there. Also, the meeting place to take the bus to Giverny was very inconvenient (the far west side of Paris where no tourists are staying), so you have to factor in the cost of transportation on top of the 'tour' price.

Highly recommend this tour!

"Sam" was a great tour guide ... Very knowledgeable about French history and Monet's life. We learned a lot while we rode a bus there and back, and then were free to choose how much time we wanted to spend viewing the house or garden and/or shopping.

First rate experience

The gardens were amazing. The opportunity for pictures was endless. The best part was that we took most pictures without other people in them. The gardens had hundreds of visitors but you got great pictures with no unwanted people. You feel like it is you and Monet. Danielle was our guide and she was good

Save your money!

Monet’s Gardens are beautiful! Absolutely breathtaking. However, you could easily get to Giverny from Paris on your own, for a much smaller cost. Tour guide was okay, but the tour itself was definitely not worth the price.

Great escape in lovely setting

Fabulous to get away from the city. James was entertaining and knowledgeable, the coach comfortable. The house and Gardens spectacular. And the cafe was first rate in "town". Meeting site was a little troublesome

Lovely experience!

It’s wonderful. One of the pretties gardens I have ever seen. Tour guide James was so funny which made even the bus ride a lovely experience. Recommend it to everyone.

Beautiful but too short

Beautiful tour. But definitely too short. More than 1/2 hour shorter than listed on the itinerary. Felt very rushed. And, although, the overall slide show and commentary provided by the guide on the bus on the way there was very good, using the self guided app wasn’t clearly explained and the guide didn’t seem interested in whether we all understood his instructions. Lastly, the tour description - implying that we would have time to explore the grounds and visit the tombs, etc - was misleading. Especially when we our tour was shortened by more than 1/2 hour. General constructive criticism - tour was too short to enjoy sufficiently.

Stunning Experience

The gardens did not disappoint. Make sure you book online as the line for tickets is long! Be aware that signs to find your way to the ticket booth & the actual entrance is not very good. We basically followed the person in front. We were not the only ones as others were asking one another the same question about how to find the ticket booth & then entrance which is in another location. For the gardens & house expect to need 2-3 hours. The village is lovely with nice cafes.

Lovely tour

I absolutely loved this tour! The gardens are stunning and far exceeded my expectations. As others mention, another 30 min would be great, but that's the only downside. I would go back again!

Not enough time

This tour is rushed. There is not adequate time on this tour to enjoy the house and gardens and there is surely not enough time to see the town or Monet's burial site. The guide was not helpful is staying around in front of Monet's house to guide us back to the bus. We had trouble finding our way back to the bus parking lot.

As advertised and worth the visit

Would have been nice to have 30-60 more minutes to explore the surrounding area. The gardens were incredible. The driver was excellent.

Perfect amount of time in...

Perfect amount of time in Giverny. Beautiful place, a definite must see for Monet fans or nature lovers. Tour guide was knowledgeable and fun!

Good excursion when you want to get out of Paris and not walk so much.

The gardens are absolutely beautiful. What we loved about the house most of all was the kitchen. The village is cute. I think the price is a bit high.

Had to fight the crowds!

While the tour was well organised, we felt it was not really value for money. Once in Giverny, we were left for 3 hours to look at Monet’s garden and also had to download an app for the self-guided tour. We were told where cafes and museums could be found. So for AU$121, we effectively had transport and entry to the garden with some information on the way by our guide. If you have extra time in Paris, there might be more economical ways to visit Monet’s garden. Also beware, there were hundreds and hundreds of people visiting so it was not the most peaceful of tours!

Weather matters

WX was bad - rain & wind - made what would have been a great trip, rather disappointing. Did not spend enough time in the gardens & house vs- felt “rushed”. Also not being able to leave personal things in the van was an unneeded surprise.

Our guide, Ratri, was the best, she has a lot of experience for sure. Overall, the time spent in Giverny was way too short.

Monet's Garden and house with Ratri

Ratri did a great job, and Monet 's Garden and house were a delightful experience. Meeting up at the beginning was easy and the bus ride was pleasant also.

Stunning gardens

Crowded but pretty organized. Ravti (not sure of spelling) was a very knowledgeable and helpful guide. Even though the day was overcast the gardens were stunning!

Wonderful Experience with Retra

Retra is very knowledgeable! Loved her stories and explanations. She gave us many suggestions of things to do in Paris as well.

Kadir and Lily were wonderful tour guides. They knew so much and made the tours very interesting. If I could, I’d take more tours with them. Definitely a wonderful time.

Beautiful gardens

The tour is very beautiful, Monet's gardens are really charming! I just believe we could have had an extra 30 or 40 minutes to enjoy and explore the whole place more calmly.

A green oasis in Giverny

We love the garden and house of Claude Monet but we would recommend to book a longer tour. The half day tour does not ensure enough time to explore the house and the garden. Even though it was a rainy day there were lots of people with us. Therefore we had to wait in the garden (especially the Japanese bridge) and to enter the house. We recommend to go there in August or September as our lovely tour guide Ratai recommended us. She told us lots of stories about Claude Monet and the history of Paris. She brings lots of recommentations for bars, restaurants and sightseeing in and around Paris. As you go to Giverny by a normal bus, there is no need to bring a seat with you for your kid, if it is no baby anymore. The note was a bit confusing for me, so I took one with meand had additional package.

So Pleasant

Had a lovely tour ! We were given the facts / information by Ratri while on the coach/bus to and from Giverny. The time at the house and gardens we self-done. We had enough time to comfortably go through the gardens and house, then stop by a cafe for a snack. Unfortunately missed the chapel where Monet lays.
