Fantastic Family Experience

Just wanted to drop a quick review letting everyone know how my family and I highly recommend the Louvre, Sainte Chapelle, Tuktuk Paris tour - special shout out to our guide, the amazing Lauren. My kids absolutely loved the treasure hunt at the Louvre. We did a handful of other tours during our Europe trip and this was by far the best.

Awesome tour!

Great way to explore the Louvre with kiddos! Tetiana was a great guide and made it a lot of fun and informative for everyone!

Not skip-the-line but a great guided first taste

Two hours would never do justice to the Louvre of course - but we chose this to ensure our 13 and 11 year olds got a feel for the place whilst not missing out any of the most famous exhibits. Cindy was very personable and knowledgeable about the museum and its contents, as you would expect. She did an admirable job maintaining a level of enthusiasm and engagement with two children who had not slept enough the night before. For the purpose for which we purchased the tour, I would not hesitate to give it five stars. One point which could be made clearer is that you may still need to spend 20+minutes at the start clearing security as the entry tickets get no special treatment - which was a little disappointing given the price of the tour. Other than that minor niggle - five stars and highly recommended as a first taster of the Louvre.

Meet the Locals are Outstanding!

The six of us, four adults and two young children, recently visited Paris for six days. We wanted to visit both Musee d Orsay and the Louvre. We didn’t want to spend most of the time waiting in lines and we wanted a plan to see the good stuff. So we engaged Meet the Locals to guide us. A wise choice At the Musee d Orsay Fernanda was our guide. As an employee there she got us through the lines and knew the place like the back of her hand. Her English was perfect, she was personable and knew her subject matter. She explained the great works with just the amount of background to keep us all engaged. An outstanding young lady! At the Louvre we signed up for the Treasure Hunt to engage the grandkids. Our guide was Tatiana. She completely captivated our grandchildren. They were excited about the hunt, had fun and learned a lot about the art. Two days well spent producing a lifetime of memories.

Family excursion at the Louvre

Excellent family experience!! Jessica was amazing. Our boys were engaged and very much enjoyed the learning activities. We were able to see many of the key works of art in a well organized set of activities. One of the highlights of our family vacation to Paris.

Great private tour of the Louvre - worth the price!

We were so happy with our Meet the Locals reservation experience. It was very easy to set up the private family tour about a month before our trip. We communicated via email and paid ahead. On the days leading up to the tour, we received confirmation emails and then the day before, we received information on where to meet, along with a landmark outside of the museum. Marcel was our tour guide and she was right on time. She was lovely! She took us to the line (tickets were purchased on our behalf ahead of time) and we were inside in no time at all. We did a 9:30am tour and we liked being on the early side, less crowds. Marcela made the tour interesting for me and my husband and our 12 year old son. She was very knowledgeable! Highly recommend!

Great way to see the Louvre while making it a fun experience for children

It was a wonderful way for our children to explore the Louvre! They went though it all looking for the clues and learning along the way. Our guide was so kind.

Phillippe was wonderful. Unfortunately my son was very tired, but the adults enjoyed the tour very much and learned a lot.

My son’s birthday

It was my son’s birthday, We had an amazing guide her name is Cindy, she is great with kids, kind lovely and very good explaining to kids, she brought as a gift teddy bears and a booklet, We had an issue with the museum because we gad a stroller and the elevator wasn’t working and security didn’t let us go inside. Cindy got frustrated and at the end my sister stayed outside the museum with my baby while the others enjoyed the tour. We are very pleased we met cindy.

Fun for everyone

Cindy was great with the kids! Very manageable amount of walking and info for an 8 and 10 year old. Our kids had a great time, and we did too!

Our tour guide Cindy was amazing! She had the graceful patience and knowledge of a great teacher. Our kids, 11, 8, and 5, were all jet-lagged yet interested. She skillfully kept their attention in a place full of distractions and sights. Every piece of history was fed with a helping of entertainment, even to the adults. All of us were engaged and eating every word. She even taught our daughters how women danced in the Renaissance and helped them all complete their booklets, which they were particularly attached to. We highly recommend this activity and in particular, Cindy!

Great experience!

Our tour with Cindy was amazing! She did a great job keeping my daughter engaged with the tour even though Leo is not fond of museums. The Activity Booklet really helped to give her something to do other than just listen passively. My daughter had only two goals for the Louvre: to see the Mona Lisa (easy) and to see a painting of a cat (not easy). Thanks to our guide we accomplished both plus a lot more. I'm not sure I would have even tried to take Leo to the Louvre without Cindy, but with her help we had a great experience!

Must-Do for Family!

We had a wonderful morning at the Louvre with our guide Perrine. She made the exhibits and works of art understandable and interesting to our twin 6 year-olds. The treasure map and games also held their attention and gave them a fun activity to do after. Perrine had the best demeanor and knowledge of the art and how to relay it to young children. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it!

Amazing!

This company is amazing. We used them in Paris and London and both were awesome. So engaging with our kids and helped us navigate our first trip to Europe. We truly felt like we had the very best tour guides available. We booked 2 tours with other companies and absolutely regret not using Meet the Locals for those as well. Chris was our guide in London and Laurine in France. Both far exceeded our expectations.

Lovely host and great experience

Our host was wonderful. Even though we made a mistake in the booking (our fault), she was able to smooth it all out and get us in at the scheduled time. She really connected with our 9 year old. She even helped her get a special view of the Mona Lisa. THe game was fun and entertaining for our daughter and she actually enjoyed the museum, Our whole family had a wonderful time.

Awesome adventure at the louvre

Marine’s warm demeanor, knowledge of the museum, and patience with our children was excellent!!! We loved learning all about the museum and its history! Highly recommend (our kids are 6, 10, 12, and 14) and everyone had fun!

Great experience

We had a great time! Our guide was very knowledgeable and made the museum really fun for everyone. The puzzles and clues were a very cute way to explore the Louvre.

Recommend!

Our whole family enjoyed the Louvre Treasure Hunt with Marcela. The activity books and questions kept our young kids happily engaged, and the adults learned a lot too. We visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art a couple months later, and our kids were pulling knowledge and insights from the tour and applying them to what they were looking at in their hometown museum!

Great Louvre tour for both adults and kids!

Our group had a senior citizen, a couple of parents, an 8 yr. old and a 13 yr. old. Marcela managed to entertain and educate everyone. Her background in Art History was amazing and she was wonderful engaging the kids with not only the art, but the building history as well. Highly recommended!

Amazing Meet the Locals Tours

Our tours were incroyable! We did 3 tours - Marais Sweets, Louvre Treasure Hunt and Versailles. Our sweets tour was my daughters’ favorite part of our Paris trip. The Louvre and Versailles were crowded and overwhelming. Having an age appropriate, focused tour made it interesting and fun for the girls. History came alive for them at Versailles. Their one complaint was that we didn’t do the Eiffel Tower as a Meet the Locals Tour! I would absolutely recommend Meet the Locals to any family visiting Paris with kids.

Bravo Meet the Locals!!

I signed my Mom, my 9-year-old daughter and myself up for the Louvre Scavenger hunt. It was my daughter’s favorite activity in France! Our guide, Laurine, was fantastic. Request her! Laurine was so engaging with my daughter and really made the museum “come alive” for us all. She was also very considerate of my 83-year-old mother and some of her mobility issues. I was extremely pleased with our Meet the Locals experience.

Must do if visiting the Louvre with children

We had a fantastic tour with Nathalie at the Louvre. Started out as a parenting fail, as we arrived at 1pm with 3 hungry and already tired kids (13, 11, 8). Nathalie enthusiasm was able to revive them and we had a fantastic tour. The scavenger hunt was entertaining as well as educational and was at a level appropriate for both my 8 and 13yo. Nathalie was so patient with the kids and answered all of their many questions. She was also able to describe and explain things at a level they could understand but also kept my husband and I interested and informed. The kids say it was one of their favorite experiences in Paris and we have already recommended it to others.

Excellent Tour for Families, don't miss out.

We visited Paris with our children ages 9 and 12 for the first time at the end of June 2022. I can not think of a better way to see the Louvre than with Phillipe of Meet the Locals. He was attentive to the children and the adults. He made the experience engaging for all. Even though one may argue that the 12 year old was aging out of the scavenger hunt, he enjoyed it because there was lots of history to learn. Thank you Phillipe!!! Also I would add the communication with the company before the event and the day of was spot on. Thank you.

Absolutely fabulous!! My kids LOVED it!!!! Would definitely book again!! Our 8 and 10 year olds loved it and guide worked so hard to keep them engaged!!

Who knew Louvre could be this much fun?

We did a two-week tour through Europe and this was my daughter’s favorite activity. Sean was an excellent guide; teaching all of us things we never knew about the museum and the beautiful works of art within. He focused a great deal of energy on our 10 year old daughter; enthusiastically connecting with her like few tour guides could.

FANTASTIC family tour through the Louvre

The treasure hunt through the Louvre was one of the best things I have ever done with and for my family. My kids loved every minute and are still talking about what they learned, what was their favorite part and what they would like to see again on our next trip. Our guide, Jessica, was extremely knowledgable and friendly and a great fit for two kids (ages 10 and 7). She kept them engaged and made the museum feel accessible and fun. Can't recommend this tour enough!

A wonderful way to see the Louvre with a child.

The tour with Ariane was wonderful. A+ ! That response was from my ten year old granddaughter And I agree whole heartedly. Ariane was knowledgeable but also made the tour fun and engaging. The scavenger hunt element was a hit but, just as important, was Ariane's interaction with, and attention to, my granddaughter and, I might add, me as well. She helped both of us to really see the works of art and helped us understand the context. When I wanted to stop and see Leonardo's "The Virgin of the Rocks" which was not on the scavenger hunt list, she was very accomodating and took the time to explain and compare it to the second version of the painting by Leonardo and, again, drew Eliza into the discussion. Eliza and I visited a number of museums and churches. Our trip to the Louvre was one of the high points from my perspective and from Eliza's.

Best way to see the Louvre with children

First big bonus is being able to get around the lines that can take forever to get in. Only took 10 minutes to get inside. It's a perfect length for kids and you see some incredible parts of the Louvre that you may miss without a guide. Roseanne engaged with the kids and they learned a lot, saw a lot and had fun. If you are going with kids I would highly recommend this.

Wow! What an extraordinary way to see the highlights of the Louvre! Our tour guide, Nathalie, was lovely and accommodating. Our son (age 10) was at the tail end of a 10-day globetrotting adventure and his energy was waning. Nathalie engaged him with the treasure hunt activities and found a way to make the experience meaningful for him and us, the parents! She keyed in on his interests and needs and masterfully navigated the overwhelmingly large museum. We felt at ease among what could have felt like chaos. One thing I especially want to acknowledge is that I can feel a little rushed and frazzled when traveling with a kiddo whose clock is ticking, and I will always appreciate the way Nathalie helped me stop in front of the Mona Lisa to really take in the moment rather than just check it off the list and get the photo opp. She recommended a great nearby Salon de Thé that we put on our list for our next visit. Scheduling and communication with the company was easy and detailed! Worth every penny to have this experience if you want an efficient, child-friendly overview of these masterpieces!

Had an awesome guide

Loved our tour of the Louvre with Sean. He was an excellent tour guide. He’s a wealth of knowledge about all of the pieces he showed us. You can tell he really enjoys what he does. He kept the tour extremely interesting, even for our two teenagers! Thanks, Sean!

Great Family Trip!

We had a wonderful time. Yaelle was so great with the kids and they were SO engaged. The Louvre was our first stop on our trip and it was so nice to learn as we went and see the most interesting things. The kids had a blast filling out the booklets. Someone even stopped us and asked where we got them! The day of our Versailles trip we were all a bit tired but Yaelle did a great job engaging the kids. I loved relearning French history and seeing all the beautiful rooms. I loved hearing a different perspective on Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Yaelle gave us some great recommendations for pastry shops and other little things to do around Paris. I would definitely recommend Meet the Locals to anyone traveling to Paris.

Paris experience

We had a wonderful experience. Patricia, our guide, was amazing. She knew exactly how to engage our kids and make it pleasant for all of us. We did a bunch of tours and she was always delightful and engaging throughout. We cannot recommend her highly enough. Our whole trip was wonderful because of how great Patricia was.

Our guide Laurine was absolutely outstanding! And exceptional with our 5 year old, she held his attention for the whole 2 hour duration. Very good for young kids and highly recommend it!

Terrific! Family tour at the Louvre with special da Vinci exhibit

We had a wonderful experience on our tour of the Louvre with our 8-year old twins. We also added on the special da Vinci exhibit which has been sold out for months. From the beginning, Dominique was particularly helpful in helping me book the tour with the da Vinci add-on. Our guide Sebastien was fantastic--he was very knowledgeable about the Louvre and art history and catered to our kids the entire time, even getting down to their level to explain things,and made it such a fun experience. He even had little Paris keychains and da Vinci booklets for them at the end which were such sweet gifts (completely unexpected!) I would highly recommend Meet the Locals in Paris for families without hesitation.

Scavenger hunt at the Louvre

Wonderful! Very appropriate for kids aged 10 and 22 along with grandparents and parents!! We love this company!!! They bend over backwards to give you the tour of your dreams! We are bak in September and have already booked 3 more tours with Meet the Locals!!

Amazing tour with Kate. She was was an excellent guide keeping all of us (including kids aged 12 and 9) engaged throughout the tour. We learned alot about art history at the Louvre in a short period of time and had fun doing it.
