Best of Paris 1 Day: Eiffel Tower, Cruise, Louvre

A great day.

I had a great day and Monique (from Mexico) was very attentive and helpful. Shame about the queuing (but that’s to be expected) and the tour felt quite dis-jointed as it was just 3 tickets and after the Eiffel Tower, you were mostly left to travel to the different sights yourself.

Fabulous! We would go on another Rick Steves tour in a heartbeat. Rolinka was amazing guide. Highly rec. Hotel de Londre

RICK STEVES Best of Paris 7-day TOUR. 100%! Stayed at the Hotel de Londres-Eiffel. Staff was EXCEPTIONAL! Breakfast was divine! Rooms were cozy, comfortable, renovated. Staff went out of their way to make sure we had all we needed (multiple times). Rolinka was our tour guide. AMAZING! Very well organized, great instruction. We went definitely go on another Rick Steves tour. 5 stars all around.

Sub Par Figure it out yourself ticket purchase tour. Dissapointing

This was the least favorite tour of my trip. It was truly a disappointment as far as “guided” tour. We met early and then walked together a few blocks to Eiffel Tower and waited in line a long time for entry. There certainly seemed to be notning special about going up with the guide. Little info was given at the top about what we were looking at around the city. We then were asked if we wanted to be accompanied tot he Louvre or go on our own. We said we did want to be taken there. I was confused why I would be given an option when I booked a tour. We were walked to the entry and took tour on our own with no map to the Louvre or recommendation on what we would do when inside. Huge disappointment. Then were told we could go on River tour anytime and just go back at our convenience. Just a really odd experience. I don’t think that was “BEST of Paris”. Not. Good.

Not guided

This is not really a guided tour. You are guided to your destinations, told a little of the history of those destinations and then you’re on your own. We were looking forward to the guided museum tour and were disappointed it was self guided. The guides that took us to each place were great (punctual, friendly).

Beautiful experience

Our guide Carlo Sanchez was very punctual, kind, helpful, competent. Beautiful experience, I recommend it.

Changed the tour without previous notice

The guides were very kind and polite but the tour operator decided to change the order of the tour. Instead of doing Eiffel Tower, Seine Cruise and Louvre, they changed it to Eiffel Tower, Louvre and cruise without previous notice which was terrible because we had plans near the Louvre and our cruise was ruined because it was raining all afternoon.

Worst day in Paris

Guide was nice and courteous but spoke very little and was not informative about the day’s events or any history about what we were actually seeing. We got there early but some people had to catch up bc the guide left early and didn’t wait until the scheduled time. In addition to that the tour was badly organized and more like a “drop off with tickets” - advertised to be a day in Paris but was actually a “get in long line at Eiffel Tower” then take metro trains (no bus) to louvre and wait an hour there before being told to go look at whatever we wanted without going back to Eiffel Tower. Guide then just disappeared after giving us tickets to boat ride to do on own which was across the city back at starting point of the day. Kind of felt like a waste of a day and should be better advertised.

Average experience

The guide just gave the tickets. We had to stand in the line for everything. There was no real explanation of the places we visited. I could have bought the tickets on my own and could have at least saved sometime waiting for everyone in the group.

Don’t do it!

They do not tell you they will have you standing and waiting very long periods of time at the Eiffel tower entrance. Then afterwards you wait for a very long time. Then they walk you to the train station and ride with you to the Louvre. Once you get into the extremely busy Louvre, they leave you and just give you the tickets for the boat. The boat was so overcrowded we couldn’t even get on. A enormous waste of money. Please do not waste your time. The guides were amazing though.

Eiffel Tour and Lovre

Pedro, Joslin and Carlos were great guides. This is a skip the line tour, which is valuable but not a guided tour. The cruise on the Seine is self guided, can be used at any time. Not a bad thing as seeing the Eiffel Tour and Lovre in the same day makes it a tiring day.

Messed up tour

After spending 2 hours in line waiting for the Eiffel Tower to open it never did for some unknown reason and meeting our tour guide at 0800 and then waiting in line until 10:30 and still no one coming out to tell us anything we just left and went on the river tour.

Trip was not as presented.

The trip included three parts. The guide took us to 2. He provided us tickets to the third. When asked wher to go for the boats he did not know just look at the ticket. When asked the name of the tour provider he again sid look at the ticket. When we were walkingthe guide was usually a block ahead. He was asked to slow down he said ok but cintinued at the same pace. Finall at the Tower he gave us the date the height and weight. That was the extent of his information. He was nice but not ready to guide a group.

Tour guide not professional at all. Did not guide all your as described, just give you tickets and tell you are on you own .

Marilyn/Solo Traveler from U.S.A

First of all I would like to say a special thank you to our Tour Guide Lara , she was so wonderful, knowledgeable and caring . If you are a solo traveler like me, Lara (our tour guide) will gladly take lots of photos for you . Lara , speaks fluent French , Spanish and English language. All of 3 are memorable to me but the best part was Eiffel Tower Summit . If anyone wants to do this tour… you mind as well go all the way to the top and make sure to get in line right away if you want to buy flutes of Champagne 🥂 . The celebration 🍾 is up there .

Good, but could have been better

We were going it in the wrong tour group because the tour coordinator was trying to up-sell us additional features. The issue was eventually straightened out and when we got to the correct guide she did a great job but only after we lost an hour of tour time.

Best of Paris

Unsatisfied with the tour timeframes.. we were told to meet at 8 am and we were not able to go to the Effel tower until 930 am. The tour co could have mentioned the majority of the tour was walking and to dress appropriately. The guide did not identify himself nor interact as much as he could have. Lots of waiting around.

1 day Paris tour

The one day tour in Paris was great we had a great tour guide. He was very informative and we had a great time Thank you

Not worth it.

This tour you can do on your own. Buy the tix in advance to get into the places you want. What you get for the price feels just like what you would feel if someone picked your pocket (watch out for those btw), ripped off.

Extremely POOR

I was expecting a better tour. Johanas was the tour leader & had knowledge of the sites we saw. We didn't get to go on the cruise on the Seine (which I would like to be credited). We were also supposed to take a bus to the Louvre which is described in your info which we didn't do. I didn't sign up for a total walking tour., but that's what it turned out to be. I'm 81 & it was very exhausting.

Ripped Off

Our guide was great BUT, we paid to see the Eiffel Tower, Cruise the Sienne (which we did) but didn’t get to the Louve because workers had gone on strike & didn’t see Notre Dame due to fire (which was sad), but we didn’t get what we paid for - very upset & angry.

I went to Paris with my wife and friends and this was one of the best tour we got. Carolina was very passionate about history, knowledgeable and fun. We walk a lot but had a great time. I highly recommend it!!

Horrible End to Tour

My Daughter & I booked the Best of Paris 1 Day Eiffel Tower & Cruise & Louvre & Notre Dame Tour on-line through Viator. The first half of the tour, including the Eiffel Tower and Seine River Cruise went well. After lunch, we received tickets for our transportation to Notre Dame. Our group included approximately 15-20 tourists. While crossing the street, eight of us were stopped by a red light. After crossing the street, we found that our tour guide and the rest of the group had vanished! We could not locate the group. We tried calling the tour guide's phone number & Viator Customer Care number without success. We were unsure whether the ticket given to us earlier was to the city bus or Metro subway. We finally took the subway to Notre Dame. While on the subway, one of the fellow lost tourist received a call from someone at Viator. We were given instructions to wait at the subway exit and our tour guide would come to find us. We waited for 30 minutes and he failed to appear. We finally walked over to Notre Dame and spotted him in the crowd. He did not apologize for leaving us behind and did not appear to be concerned. We missed our Guided tour of Notre Dame Cathedral. The tour guide's behavior was totally unacceptable. I would suggest that Viator contract with a more professional and experienced Paris tour guide company for this tour.

no real information on what we saw

this service was promoted as a "tour" but they guides really served to get us from one place to another … no real information re:background, history, or insights .. the guides basically turned us loose to explore once they got us to the location … only the river cruise provided any real information (provided by the cruise operator via link on our cell phone)

full day tour in paris- excellent tour guide

<p>Katrina was very nice, however, this tour was a bit too long for our family of four boys ages 13 and 16. There was too much time at each destination for us, its just a personal preference. For example, 2 hours at the Eiffel tower was too long for us. This was a large group tour, very large. We prefer to pay a little more to have the one on one and the ability to move the tour along at will or vice versa stay a little longer here or there. But, good if you want to save a little money and see four sites in one day:</p>

<p>Tour was good but very long and very rushed at each site. You have to find your own way home from the Notre Dame and have to walk there from the Louvre which is about 30 minutes. The cruise portion is very short and not very informative. You also take a public bus which is extremely crowded. Lots and lots of walking and not a whole lot of guidance at any of the sites.</p>

Mixed review

I have two views of this tour. The tour itself was great. We saw three of the most popular sights in Paris in addition to a cruise down the Seine. Worth the price of admission. Now....the tour guides. It started out with two guides then a third just joined in. So we were split into three groups. It wasn't clear as to what anyone was doing. Our guide seemed nice but also seemed overwhelmed. There was much confusion amongst the people on the tour including myself. Too many examples to mention. I would give it five stars but the disorganization knocks it down to four stars.

Just go on your own

We took our "tour" with Hugo and the group is filled with dissatisfied if not upset people. 1)we were told after the river that we were going to the Louvre.  Midway on the METRO (after a walk) we were told we are going to NotreDame. He didn't announce this change. We asked about the route and THEN we were told about the change. We FINALLY had time to eat and told to meet in front of the cathedral at 215. He said if we just want to get in line we could. Um, WHAT ABOUT THE GUIDED TOUR WE SIGNED UP FOR??? We waited while he gave very minimal information outside and then we were sent in ON OUR OWN. I had to stand near another tour to learn information. I am greatly disappointed as the guided portion of NotreDame is why I chose this for our family.   I emailed my disappointment from ND and on our way walking to the Louvre he suddenly started pointing out some landmarks. He didn't give much info but it was something. Once at the Louvre he gave us a BRIEF history and eventually handed out the tickets. We told him that our kids were 18 and he didn't give them a ticket saying they didn't need one. Guess what? They did. You don't need a ticket if you're UNDER 18. The museum asked for ID. So I would say don't waste your money on this tour. Just get entry tickets on your own and go to the same places. It's the same thing. PS check my previous reviews to see that I very rarely give a bad review. That's how bad this was.

Could do this on your own

I’m not one to bother writing bad reviews but I think it’s be beneficial for people to know this one is not worth the money. To start off the morning, the tour guide was late, but not by much so no big deal. We made our way to the Eiffel Tower. Got to “skip the line” I suppose...but really, we arrived 30 mins before they even opened the gates so we were just first in line and waiting for them to open. We then waited in another line for them to open up the gates to take the elevator up the Eiffel Tower. The tour guide did not come with us nor give us much info/history. We met back at meeting point to walk over to the Seine River cruise...again no skipping the line, and she did not come with us on boat and give us any information. Once we were done with that she informed us that we need to take our lunch break right off the boat with the small little food stands because the Louvre was “too busy” to find food. We were supposed to break for lunch once we got to the Louvre (and I’m sure would’ve had better options considering surrounding cafes), but fine. We got a quick rushed 20 min lunch where most people could barely finish because lines of the stands. Then made our way to Louvre on public transportation. Yes public transportation. I don’t mind AT ALL taking the public bus and it didn’t bother us, however, when you book a tour you kind of expect more. We got dropped off still kind of far from the Louvre and had to walk a ways which was fine, the scenery was great. She then gave us an hour and half to go off on our own and explore the Louvre. Again ZERO information or history. Once we arrived back we walked to Notre Dame (she said it would be faster than taking bus because of traffic) and this was maybe the only time she gave a tiny tiny bit of info about the church. But brief and nothing specific. We got there she pointed out a couple things and then she announced she’d leave us be on our own and told us there’s a Metro close by to get back. That’s it. So overall very disappointing when spending money on a tour to get absolutely no benefits, no information or history, and no ride “home” or back. Very strange. She wasn’t a mean or rude tour guide just not informative. She basically just guided us where we needed to go and that’s it, and in that case, we could’ve done it on our own. So don’t waste your money. If you want an informative and helpful tour I wouldn’t suggest this one.

Visite de Paris

Très bonne visite juste un petit bémol le guide parlait qu'en anglais dommage lorsque l'on est français aurait pu faire un petit effort notre guide Jeannette était extra . Un peu chère payé quand même quand on met bout à bout le prix de chaque activité la prochaine je prendrais par moi même je penses que ça revient moins Cher. L'avantage c'est qu'au Louvre on n'a pas fait la queue. Sinon belle expérience.
