No-show by Guide Anna in Paris

Stay away from With locals and Anna! We chose Anna for our evening walking tour in Paris , booking several months in advance. We arrived at the designated spot a few minutes before 6pm, walking an hour to get there in time. After 15 minutes waiting for Anna, I looked up the original confirmation email and found her number. I then WhatsApped her, asking if there was a problem. She responded in 1 minute saying that the tour had been cancelled. Just when I was wondering whether I had missed a communication earlier in the day, I saw a regular text message pop up from Anna saying that the tour had been cancelled, written 2 minutes after I had contacted her (not before the tour was to have begun). You can't cancel an event after it was to have begun! That's a no-show on the part of the tour guide, a failure to do one's job, a failure to care that people plan their time in Paris carefully and lose a critical time slot when a tour guide and company fail to produce what they market on-line. More than 24 hours later, I have received nothing from Withlocals addressing this issue or offering a refund. Because the tour did not occur, they did not send me a request for a review, so they may think they are insulated from negative reviews related to their mismanagement. Be careful of this company.

A good start of your vacation in Paris

I booked the „A magical evening in Paris: City Tour“ with Giedre. It was a good experience on the first day of my vacation in Paris which gave me a first impression of the city and a basic understandig of some of its monuments and its architecture. The tour started at 7.30 PM and went for 2,5 hours. The meeting point was easy to find and the communication before the tour went smoothly. Giedre is originally from Lithunia but has been living and working in Paris for quite some time. She knows a lot about the city – history and present - and is also very enthusiastic about it which makes it fun to listen to her. Among the sites which we explored during the tour were the Opera, Place Vendome, Comedie Francaise, Palais Royal and Louvre. But we spoke also about current topics such as the housing situation in Paris and the forthcoming Olympic games. Giedre also provided me with valuable information for my further activities in Paris. For instance, I got detailed information on the flea market at Saint Ouen. In conclusion, I can onyl recommend to book a tour with Giedre as a perfect start of your journey to Paris.

Great walking tour.

Peggy was a great tour guide. She was informative and made sure we saw things at the top of our list in the walking area. She took several family photos of us so we could be in pictures together. She recommended other places to visit and even some restaurants we should try. We enjoyed our tour very much.

I had an excellent time with Welly. He shared with me good information on a variety of sites that we saw, including historical information. He also provided me with suggestions for interacting with others in Paris. I was especially grateful that he helped me navigate my way back to the Airbnb where I was staying. He customized the tour to my liking, and I appreciated his considerate nature. He took photos of me as well. You will be very happy if you book a tour with him.

Paris comes to life through the eyes of a Local guide

It is refreshing when traveling to a new city to see it from the perspective of a local in love with their city. Stone monuments and buildings all have a story to tell with a good guide to help you peel back the layers. People like St. Genevieve, important to the City of Paris, or Marie de' Medici and her plight all bring a flavor to Paris to savor in the skillful hands of an experienced guide. I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and left wanting more. I highly recommend Anna to anyone wanting to explore Paris and her treasures.

Amazing guide

Wan was absolutely amazing! I did this tour solo last year… this year I did the tour with two 7 year olds and my mother. I felt like this tour was better than last year! Wan was great with the kids and extremely knowledgeable. You can tell she loves what she does! Hands down, would recommend this tour!

Anukool was the best tour guide we had all trip! He was a walking book! He shared so much history and was so passionate about all we spoke about. He had great recommendations, showed us so much, and never rushed us. If possible, we would have hung out with him each night! Felt like a new friend instead of a tour guide. Book him!!! Great thing to do first day in Paris

Anukool was our tour guide and he was very nice and took us on a long walk throughout the city. He was full of information and was a great resource for other trips we were planning to do during our visit. I would highly recommend a tour like this to can a feel for the city the first day!

Louis is the best!

The best part of this tour was our wonderful host Louis Gabriel, Louis for short. He was pleasant, warm, and humorous. He imparted a great deal of knowledge to us about different neighborhoods of Paris and the time just flew by. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and we will look for his tours again.

Louis Gabriel was amazing. We had a truly fantastic evening walking and seeing beautiful sights. Louis Gabriel even helped customize our tour based on specific sights that we wanted to see. All in all it was a wonderful evening and it was indeed magical!

Hey everyone, I met Izabel and it was so easy and flawless to talk to her she showed me one if the most famous spots and made the tour spontaneously fit my needs. Super sympa as the locals say. She knows secret spots and places i never been altbough I know the city well. So exciting and fun tour. We had a blast. I highly recommend taking the tour with Izabel. She is wonderful as a tourguide and persona.

Great experience with Ankool. He was very engaging, informative and made an impromptu change to our tour based on where we already have been to make sure there was no redundancy. Awesome tour and guide. Highly recommend!

Lovely tour

Fantastic tour. It was our first night in Paris after arriving at 9 am, so we were exhausted, but it was still worth it. Anukool definitely made an effort to find out our particular interests and tailor the tour accordingly. At the end, he made the extra effort to walk us to the metro and make sure we knew how to get back to our hotel. And of course, the city at night was simply enchanting.

Your was great! Paris is so beautiful when lit up. Anukool’s tour was very educational. He took me around the city showing me many of the sites. Would definitely recommend this out as it is more private and geared to the group going.

Great evening walk through Paris

Essentially had a private tour through the central area of Paris, learning about the history of the various buildings, monuments, palaces, etc. Learned a lot about the city to help inform our future travels to Paris. Really enjoyed seeing the city lit up at night.

A Magical Disappearing Act

We waited at the rendezvous point for 40 minutes in the freezing cold and the guide did not show up or answer our calls. We received no notification that the tour would not go ahead and have received no apology or explanation since. It was far from a magical first night in Paris. It was extremely disappointing. Viator processed the refund promptly.

A Night To Remember

Our guide Ali Berredjem was awesome! Thank you for sticking with us throughout the night in the pouring rain taking your time to go over all the the history of the sites we visited. Highly recommend this walking tour at night when everything is lit up!

Paris lit up at night

The city is amazing at night and Ali made the tour fun and energetic. It was a great way to see all the highlights our first night and made the rest of the trip more relaxing. Ali was also great at recommendations for the rest of our trip

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

This tour was the WORST!!!! Our tour guide, Alexis did not show up. This was supposed to be a private tour and without any courtesy calls nor email just to let us know that he won't show up. We were even very early at the meeting area, and waited for at least 20 mins before calling Viator coz we tried to call both numbers provided, but to no avail. We had to use our US phones, took risk of the international charges, just to reach out to the tour company and Alexis...but to no avail. We then called Viator but we were just told that the tour company's office is already closed and that they will only send an email to the tour company. Until now, Viator also did not let us know of the status. The good thing is, they have refunded us the whole amount of this tour. If not, we have to dispute the charges. Anyway, don't take this tour with this company nor with Alexis. You will be frustrated especially if your time in Paris is limited like us. Don't waste your time.

A BAD AND NEVER TRANSPIRED EXPERIENCE ON MY FIRST DAY IN PARIS

The rendezvous point was the CLOCK STATUE across the Saint-Lazare Metro Station. So, my wife and I were there to see Paris at night on our first day in this City of Lights and Love. We were truly anticipating "A magical evening in Paris " - because that was the title of the tour. That magical experience turned into a gloomy and dark experience when our tourist guide, Alexis didn't show up. We were waiting from 7:30 PM until 8:15 PM for the guide to show up...but to no avail. No courtesy calls or e-mails at all. VIATOR was informed around 8:00 PM but couldn't do anything at all as well because the TOUR OFFICE WITH LOCALS was already secured during that time of the night. It was just a bad night for a "FIRST NIGHT IN PARIS." But life moves on ...more Uber payments..and more international calls...to compensate for a total loss of 2.5 hours for a much awaited "MAGICAL EVENING."

Great first night in Paris!!

What a great first night in Paris!! A private tour is the perfect way to see and learn a little anout this beautiful and historic city. After this stroll along the Seine river we had dinner and we were ready for bed.

A nightmare in Paris

I was unable to go my fly got delay call the next day was given any consideration or refund at all. I spend over a 1,000. In activities. I lost $148.00 in the tickets . I will never buy tickets in advanced or recommend anyone to do it. You never know what can happen to you. I will not recommended to purchase tickets in advance. I’m very disappointed!!

Magical evening is right!

It was truly a magical night filled with history, general information, and good laughs. Would totally recommend to anyone since the night can be tailored to be whatever you want. We had the best time!

We spent a wonderful evening with Anukool. He was so knowledgeable with the perfect mix of history and fun. After our evening we had a good idea of the layout of the city, the timeline of city events and construction, the places we should spend time at, the food we really needed to try and some secret treasures we would have never known about. The city is so beautiful at night and touring with Anukool was our wonderful intro to Paris. Highly recommend!

What a great experience and unique night tour with Murilo! The weather was cold, windy, and rainy but that didn’t stop us from covering the city. Great Walking Tour

Our guide, Anukool, was great. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the sights we saw. Unfortunately because of COVID, things closed early but we were still able to enjoy the tour. I think most importantly, Anukool went at our pace and using his own words "it's a walk not a race". I did a night tour on a previous visit but the walking tour allowed me to see more things that being on a bus did not. Would definitely recommend!!

Quick Paris Tour

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We feel like we did a historical walk for sure. We walked 7.1 miles. He was upfront and told us he was not a licensed tour guide. We barely made it to the Eiffel Tower when the tour time was over. I ask him to take a few pictures for me (4) The last one was pretty important to me. To my surprise I was wearing the Eiffel Tower on my head. Not happy about that one. I can not get that moment back. You should know how to frame a shot if your going to give yours. We decided to take a taxi back to our hotel. It would have been nice to have a map of sorts to follow on your tour to reference back to as you look at pictures. It felt like we did a lot of unorganized looping back and forth. The weather cooperated and we barely got a sprinkle of rain. I got some lovely photos.

Excellent primer on the main Paris sights

Muriel was top notch. He was enthusiastic, informative, patient, accommodating, extremely smart, and also very pleasant. We are so happy we were able to view Paris at night with him! Important note - we visited in the summer and our tour started at 8:00 p.m. Despite the fact that the sun did not set until the end of the tour, I believe that Paris at Dusk was even more beautiful than Paris at Night! We loved our tour. The information was geared towards adults so my husband and I took turns with the guide while the other hung more with the children.

Set down the tour book for an evening and really see Paris. Murilo took us to so many beautiful places we would have never known about or experienced. I highly recommend the night tour if you want to get away from the beaten path. Murilo is friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the city.

Paris by Night Tour with Ali

We had booked the tour City of Lights by night with Ali. Since we had already done the Best of Paris tour with him the day before, he adjusted the evening tour so that we didn't see the same places. Instead of going to the Eiffel Tower, we went towards Ile de Cite, Quartier Latin, crossed the Ile Staint Louis and ended at the City Hall. He still wanted to take us to the Marais, but we were too tired. He then accompanied us to a bus stop, from where we could take the bus back to the hotel. Ali was great and altered the itinerary of the tour to show us more of Paris. He took great care of us and told anecdotes about the different places. All in all a successful night tour through Paris.

We had a great time seeing the sights with Ali who took us to spots with beautiful views of the city by night. Ali was easy to reach to meet up with and was a friendly, helpful guide.

The City of Lights Tour with Murilo

We chose to do this tour on our first night in Paris to get a better understanding of a city we had not been to in over 20 years. Murilo was a great and knowledgeable guide - he provided a lot of history, answered all our questions and even guided us on what trains to catch to get home. We even saw a view of the Eiffel Tower that few tourists see (but that's a secret between us and him). Touring with Murilo is recommended!!

My husband and I booked the City of Lights by Night tour and Murilo was an excellent guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about the city design and architecture and was incredibly personable and easy to talk to. The views from the top of the department store of the city, and from the bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower were breathtaking. Thanks, Murilo!!

Fabulous Paris by Night Tour with Emilie

My husband and I did a 'Paris by Night Tour' with Emilie and it was one of the highlights of our trip. She was lovely and extremely knowledgable and interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and I was sorry we couldn't book another during our stay. If we are ever back in Paris, we would definitely do at least one other tour with her. Paris Night tour for food and architecture

Zoltan was an amazing chap. We were a family of 4 with a teenage son. He entertained all of us and personalised our tour to our wishes- food and history. Also he took extra time to give us further information on things we were planning to do the next day. I will strongly recommend him.
