Chilled day on the ocean

We had a fab day, Monique and Brad looked after every detail, very attentive and friendly. The Catamaran was comfortable and sailed beautifully.

Exclusive access to a beautiful island from Bayscapes!

This was the perfect outing to share with family or friends. Brad and Monique were friendly, accommodating and helpful, especially with the older adults and 4-year old in our group. Motorua Island was such a special place to visit -- an exclusive insight into Bay of Islands that not many get access to. Communication was great regarding dietary needs for the lunch provided. A relaxing, beautiful experience all around!

Everything was perfect for a days sailing around the Bay of Islands

Spent a days charter with Bayscape Charters - Brad and Monique It was such an amazing day, the highlight of my Bay of Islands holiday. We saw dolphins, a shark and a sting ray. They were very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and tolerant of a big group. Lunch was a packed lunch but very yummy. Id recommend them highly.

A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE

During a recent visit to Paihia, we spent a delightful day with Brad and Monique on a cruise in the Bay of Islands. It is the couple's own business, and they obviously take a great pride in it and in their vessel Hibiscus Star. They also obviously enjoy their sailing and providing enjoyment for others. The sailing on our chosen day had to be cancelled due to low booking numbers, but Monique kept fully in contact with us and, with several days' notice, offered a suitable alternative. Everything during the day ran smoothly in a very relaxed way and without any fuss. There was, however, quiet attention to every detail - welcome, safety briefing, ensuring comfort, quietly facilitating at every stage what individual customers needed or wanted, engaging in a friendly way with customers, and looking after their catamaran, as well of course as actually sailing it. The weather for our cruise was superb, but there was not much wind initially. The outward journey was under engine power, but the return was under sail. Points of interest and sightings of wildlife were pointed out. At the stop in a bay on one of the islands, there were possibilities for swimming, snorkelling, and paddleboarding or walking on the island. A simple but very tasty packed lunch was provided. Lunch boxes were clearly named as the contents varied according to dietary requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and thank Brad and Monique for the personal attention they give to us as well as to everyone else on board.

Fantastic day out with beautiful weather to great location for spending a few hours doing, lovely walk, eat very nice lunch ( husband said the gluten free wrap was delicious) and trying the stand up paddle board. Very nice to have sails up for last part of the journey back. Owners were fantastic!

Beautiful day sailing in Bay of Islands

We booked a small group sailing with Bayscapes for our Bay of Islands port stop during our cruise around NZ. Weather was beautiful and Monique and Brad were excellent hosts. We anchored just off a small beach on one of the islands and went ashore on a small zodiac boat. We did an optional short hike to another beach, which was just gorgeous! We snorkeled for a bit and some others used the paddle boards. Water was a bit chilly but it didn't stop us Canadians from getting in! The lunch was very tasty and filling. We had a gorgeous, relaxing day and we can 100% recommend Bayscapes Charters!

Excellent excursion

The couple that ran the catamaran were extremely nice and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time sailing and spending time on the beach and hiking. The lunch they provided was really good as well.

Perfect Day in paradise

We had a beautiful day out on the water sailing between the Bay of islands. The catamaran was so nice and the beauties of the islands and water were amazing. We saw a stingray and lots of fish snorkeling. We stopped by a secluded island and enjoyed paddle boarding and walking the beach. Also a very nice lunch was provided. This is a great trip!!!

Great Day in Bay of Islands!

This was an ideal excursion for my wife and I. It was a 2 hour sail, anchor for 2 hours, then sail back for 2 hours. This may sound boring for some, but I found the whole experience so relaxing. The husband and wife team explained about what they were doing while sailing and gave some historical information about Bay of Islands and what we were seeing. The island we anchored at was beautiful! It included a little hike over the hill to a private beach, and a small lagoon and beach where we could swim and use the standup paddle boards. They provided a nice, hearty lunch, and I liked that they let us bring beer and wine onboard and store it in their refrigerator. The catamaran was really nice, with plenty of seating areas and some beanbags for extra comfort. I’ve done some similar excursions where they try to create some crazy party atmosphere, not this one, which was perfect. All in all, a great day!

Beautiful Bay of Islands catamaran trip

We (5 couples)had the most enjoyable day Brad on Bayscapes catamaran. The scenery, walk on Moturua Island was a highlight. The trip was very comfortable and relaxing and the lunch supplied was simple and lovely 🤗 Thank you for a wonderful day on the water at the Bay of Islands, we would highly recommend this tour 😎

An awesome day on the boat with the two crew members. We had a great time on the way out and then snorkelling and for the first time “sup”ping. Highly recommended if you are in this part of the world

Wonderful Day On The Water!

What a great day! We felt welcome, safe and valued. The operators (Monique and Brad?) did such a great job of handling the vessel and provided awesome commentary about sailing ,seamanship and local history, I booked this trip so my wife could experience sailing in a safe manner and get out of the comfort zone (so to speak). She was very hesitant to begin with (the weather wasn't the greatest) but these guys really turned it on for her and made her day!! Highly recommend!

Knowledgeable and Friendly staff with Brad and a Monique. Lunch was good. We were fortunate as clouds cleared and we had beautiful weather for majority of day. We anchored at a lagoon type area where we had fun snorkelling and SUP. Had a wonderful hike up on one of the islands - Some great photos taken from there. Great day in Bay of Islands.

Couldn't have asked for better!

Brad and Monique were very friendly, professional and organised. The boat is fantastic, well-kept with good facilities, and a good size for day trips. We had a beautiful sail out to Army Bay and time to walk on the island and spot many native birds, as well as swimming and paddle boarding. Just what we were looking for as a day trip in the Bay.

Day Sail In the Bay of Islands

It was a great day on the water sailing with Bayscapes Charters in the Bay of Islands. The crew was professional, friendly and very helpful. The trip included a stop at Moturua Island where we anchored for water sports, exploring the island and a wonderful lunch. If we ever return to the Bay of Islands we would definitely do this trip again.

Loved every minute!!

Our family of 5 chartered a day sail with Bayscapes on board the Hibiscus Star. Our sail in the Bay of Islands from 9:30-3:30 was the perfect way to spend a Summer Sunday and was both spectacular and so relaxing! A boxed lunch was included and so we’re the paddle boards and scuba gear! Our teenagers loved laying out on deck in the bean bags to catch some sun and swimming under the boat was pretty cool too. We motored out to a deserted beach because of light winds spotting several blue penguins along the way and felt like we had the entire boat and beach to ourselves when we arrived and even spotted a sting ray in the clear turquoise water. It was great chatting with both Brad and Monique about the area islands and their boat and business and rested easily while they raised the sails and cut the engine for a beautiful sail atriums the bay and back into Paihia. Highly recommend spending the day aboard this catamaran if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable day out in the water.
