Treasure Hunt - Great time in Oxford

Thus was for a family memebers 80th birthday and it was so much fun! The puzzles are great, and everyone can get involved! Seeing different parts of Oxford and learning the history was great fun 🤩 will deffo be coming back for more.

Great for tourists and locals alike

It was great! As locals, we thought we'd be able to do it lickety split, but it really makes you think. It takes you to many of the high points of the city, so it's a great way to see things if you're new to the area. Even for Oxford locals like us thought, it was a fun way to learn things about our home city. We did it in just over an hour, but we're fast walkers and didn't do the pubs (which you should if you have the time!) so you could easily spend an afternoon doing this. I'd love a longer / different version, only because I'd love to do a treasure hunt in Oxford again!

Interesting and successful trip around Oxford.

This was a very well designed and interesting walk around the centre of Oxford, with clues that were challenging enough but not impossible to solve. Even though we had members who had been in Oxford they found new things to discover. The app worked well.

A great way to spend a sunny afternoon in Oxford

We split into three teams and chased each other around Oxford. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The challenges were tricky without being impossible and no local knowledge was required. Would thoroughly recommend.

Fun way to see Oxford

Was a good experience. Had a few problems with the connection to the web page but that was more due to the signal in Oxford than the treasure hunt It took us on a nice walk round Oxford to parts we otherwise wouldn’t have gone to, although the pub it said was a well kept secret was so busy that we couldn’t get a table, luckily it has lots of other very pleasant establishments around. Will be doing the treasure hunts in other cities with other family members.

Great fun for all age groups

We had great fun doing Treasure Hunt Oxford. We were in 2 groups, with 4 adults and 3 children aged between 8 and 12. Although we know Oxford really well, we found new places we hadn’t been before. We all had fun finding the locations and solving the clues. A great 2 hours spent together. A big thank you to the founders - 5 stars

Excellent way of seeing the City

Excellent way of seeing the city and learning some history. Be sure to make time to go up the castle for the views, sometimes there is a wait. Perfect afternoon!

Team Building Event

We had 5 teams of between 5 and 6 and each team spent a couple of hours wondering through some of the less (and more) well trodden parts of the City. We all had a fabulous time and the lighthearted competition was just perfect for our team. I know and love Oxford well and was still surprised by some of the new things I learnt about the City. The team members who have never been to Oxford found it very informative and we all had tonnes of fun doing it.

Great fun

Great fun. Clues were easy enough to engage my 8 and 10 year old but tricky enough to entertain me as well. I expected them to get tired / bored before the end but they loved every minute. It’s also nicely set up so that you can break whenever you like for lunch or a coffee stop.

Do not waste your money

Quite boring!!! Clues are confusing until the very last one…and you need to get to the last one, believe me. Tour isn’t that interesting, historical spots are not so interesting or the best. Anyway, if I could ask my money back, I would.

Fun day out!

It’s a clever concept. It will appeal to those who like puzzles and murder mystery style books. The clues were well written and it takes you to some of the interesting corners of Oxford. Some of the clues are a bit too easy (though this keeps it family friendly) Definitely worth stopping off at the pub it takes you to en route!

Really good fun.

We really enjoyed the treasure hunt. We are very familiar with Oxford so this was a chance to spot some things about our local city that we hadn’t previously noticed.

2 adults & 5 kids, and it was great!

My wife and I did the "Treasure Hunt Oxford" with our 2 kids and 3 of our friends kids last weekend. The kids are 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10, and we found the questions were aimed just at the right level - hard enough to be interesting but do-able enough to keep everyone interested. I would recommend this to anyone with an afternoon to fill in Oxford.

Perfect way to explore the city

A really fun and engaging way to explore the city, without the faff of having to plan where to go and what to see. The hunt encompassed all the must see spots, plus hidden gems that wouldn’t have been on our radar left to our own devices. The clues were nicely challenging and the maps easy to follow. We loved it. Would thoroughly recommend and would like to repeat elsewhere.

We had such a great time. Clues were great and we saw much of the city never seen before by our friends who live locally. Easy walking even on a really hot day. Great fun and recommend by us all.

Such a fun way to explore Oxford. If you love a treasure hunt and walking then this is for you. So many beautiful places to explore as well as some hidden gems. I came to visit my friend who had recently moved here and we were both impressed. Would highly recommend as a fun day out.

Thank you very much for such an enjoyable afternoon. We did this for a hen do and the group of 14 thoroughly enjoyed. We split into 3 teams (mixed ages) and everyone said how much they enjoyed this activity. Really got the brain and eyes working. Thanks Paul and Ian.

I work for a company which organise summer programmes for large groups of students traveling from all around the world. We were looking for something that would have the students invested in experiencing the rich culture and history that Oxford has to offer but in a fun way. I am so glad we found this company! Treasure Hunt Oxford

I did this with my 18yr old daughter & we had a great laugh looking for clues & was a brilliant activity to guide you intentionally round the beautiful city. We loved the diversion through the covered market & took in the views from St Mary's tower. The WhatsApp style was v.simple & after asking for clue on first challenge we were determined to do the rest without anymore clues! Well designed & creative hunt round Oxford. Took us about 3 hrs in total

Great afternoon out

We went for a work social outing and had a great time! Despite many of us having lived in Oxford for years, we all learned something new about the city. And even with building work near some locations it was obvious the team knew Oxford well and had accounted for anything that might make the clues ‘disappear’; it was brilliant!

Great treasure hunt and tour!!

Really great way to see more of Oxford. Went to some lovely areas that we would not have ordinarily seen. Clues varied in difficulty and had we known we were getting a score perhaps we would have tried harder! Great format of doing it online - really good fun!

This was really great! Oxford is a really beautiful city so it was a delight to walk around and see some fantastic parts of it thanks to this treasure hunt game. You can do the game at your own pace. If you decide to take a small detour (there are so many interesting spots around Oxford which you’ll see along the way) then it’s fine to pause the game, check out the cool place you saw, and then return to the game later. We actually came across the Covered Market during the game and we ended up spending an hour in there - it has an amazing vibe and has really interesting shops and food stalls all over the place. You need to be reasonably savvy with a smart phone to play this game - you need to be comfortable using a text messaging style app and be able to switch to a map app on your phone to help orient yourself when you need to. The puzzles felt straight forward and clear and, if you get really stuck, you can always ask for hints (we used 2 hints). We had a really wonderful time. It was our first time in Oxford and we feel like we saw the best parts of it, which is what we wanted the most out of this treasure hunt. We will definitely be doing the other treasure hunts that this company has created for other cities!

Fun day out with friends

Great day out with friends exploring Oxford and finding spots we hadn’t seen before as well as a some classics. Only 11 clues (compared to 50 on a different hunt the week before!) so ideal if you want this to be part of the day with plenty of time for stopping or exploring. Clues varied in difficulty but overall we were able to find everything (just about!) and learn a bit as we went.

Fun day out, exploring parts of Oxford we would otherwise have missed seeing. Searching for clues certainly makes you look around. Plenty of coffee shops and places on route to stop.

What a great treasure hunt! It took us around areas we would not have been to in the centre of Oxford. We learned lots, had great fun and enjoyed the whole experience.

A great team building day

I booked the Oxford treasure hunt as part of a work team day. There was 9 in total and it split into two teams which I liked as I wanted a bit of a competitive edge. The whole team said that they really enjoyed it. Even personally, this was my first time doing a treasure hunt and it was very engaging. I had only been to Oxford once prior to this and this felt like I had thoroughly seen it. Thank you very much.

Done a few of these now, very good ***** get to see things you probably wouldn't if just wondering around. You actually look at things and read about them. Highly recommended. Can do a pub crawl at the same time, which is always a bonus LOL

Good fun

Me and my boyfriend did it as part of our 'year after meeting in Oxford' revisit. It was pretty cold, but it got us out and about, seeing things we normally wouldn't have. Was great fun, especially seeing other people doing it but keeping the answers quiet! Stopped off at the Turf Tavern for a pint and then another when we finished in the final clue pub - haha! Will do it again in other towns that offer it.

entertaining experience

we thoroughly enjoyed using the treasure hunt as a fun way of exploring Oxford. The clues were just challenging enough for us. Our one slight frustration was that when you got near to the answer to a clue, there was usually another group of people already there, who gave away the exact location of the answer! Having said that it was an enjoyable and fun experience.

Really good fun day out. Searching for clues around the city of Oxford - a place steeped in history this was a great way to explore. Doing it with friends was even better. There is no time limit although it is best to get it finished before dark. Highly recommend.
