Kevin is able to give a personal perspective on the city of Osaka Tour that helps tourists better understand the history of Japan and Asia. I enjoyed the facts and the manner in which presented them. Each stop along the tour was a learning experience. In the four hours that we had, we were constantly being told about the significance of a particular landmark. This tour should be on your must do list when you visit Osaka. With the use of JR rail and subway system use during the tour, you get a great foundation for learning the layout of Osaka. Kevin is an amazing tour guide!!

Our 4 hour tour of Osaka was incredible! Our tour guide Kevin was extremely knowledgeable about all topics related to the culture and history of not just Osaka but all of East Asia. He went out of his way to make every aspect of the tour a phenomenal learning experience. My husband and I have been on at least 20 tours over the last 10 years and Kevin was in the top 3!

A good guide

The guide Francois was informative and articulate. A wet day on the tour did not help, but he made it worth the while. There were 2 couples for this tour and both were left wondering whether the guide would turn up in the rain. He did arrive on time, but it would have helped if the guide's number was provided to us in advance. Also providing a landmark along with the meeting point address would have help alleviate unnecessary anxiety for the tourists.

What a great way to see the city!

Brian was an excellent guide. His knowledge of the history of Osaka was great and he was so informative. He was mindful of our 10 year old and her needs and we are very grateful that he was kind enough to accommodate our 10 year old! Loved the tour highly recommend Brian and the Osaka tour.

Fantastic tour of Osaka!

We recently joined our guide, Kevin, for a half day walking tour of Osaka. We had a great time exploring the highlights of the city as well as some”off the beaten path” spots. We loved discussing the culture and history of Osaka with Kevin, who offered a frank, modern and insightful view of the city. We were easily guided through the subway to visit Osaka Castle, the Korean market, the entertainment district, and he even walked us through a Pachinko game space! Kevin was very knowledgeable regarding Japan’s political and social history- but he was never boring! After three weeks in Japan, and experiencing many other tours, the last day with Kevin ranks as an A+! In addition, Kevin and the Pinpoint staff arranged for luggage storage during our tour and a taxi to take us to the airport. Definitely would use them again when we return to fantastic Japan. And- thanks again to super guide Kevin!

Osaka walking tour

Wonderful walking tour with English speaking guide. Gave us historical information when showing us the sites that was fascinating. This is a big city and would have been very difficult to manage on our own. The guide was incredible!!!!!

A great day in Nara

We had a wonderful time with Rie! We started early and were a head of the crowds. We came over from Osaka by train and met at the station. Nara is a must see. The temples and shrines are spectacular and the deer were fun.

Great tour but a little rushed

Great tour overall. My favorite of the trip. Kevin was an excellent tour guide. He was warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. My only suggestion was that it felt rushed. I would make it a couple hours longer to allow some time to explore at a few of the stops.

Joshua made our tour fabulous. I think visiting Osaka would have been less memorable without his local insights. He had also recommended a fantastic testaurant which we visited . The place was one of the best experience of Wagyu 😀

We took a private tour, visited imperial palace and few observation spots in Osaka. Bryan was knowledgeable & fun. Our 9 yr old enjoyed the tour.

Our guide, Damien, made the experience. He took us everywhere and explained everything. He answered every question we had, which was quite a bit. We went to popular spots like the Osaka Castle but also to a market and learned about the history and development of Osaka. If you want to learn and enjoy yourself then highly recommend!!

A great time in Osaka

With Lito leading the way, this tour was a great way to get a more immersed in the culture! He was knowledgeable and open to changes in the itinerary when he got to know more about what I was interested in. Time flies when you're having fun and this tour went by way too fast, so I booked a food tour right after for dinner too :D

Hit all the highlights and more

This was the best tour we did in all of Japan. Our guide, Ferdi, zipped us through the city showing us the highlights and providing us with the history and insights of a “local”. The four hours passed so quickly and we were sad to part because we were loving every minute of the tour. He was engaging and so knowledgeable.

Great overview of Osaka - and Japanese history!

Excellent tour thanks to our extraordinary guide. Damien was an ideal guide: deeply knowledgeable and friendly. As a scholar of Japanese history and culture who lives here with his Japanese wife and children, he gave us a fascinating run-down of the sites and events of this area. Furthermore, he had thoughtful and well-informed answers to questions I'd wondered for years and previous tour guides had not been fully able to answer: How is it that Japan can have two religions coexist so harmoniously? To what extent have emperors in Japan ever held practical power vs more symbolic roles? The tour was action-packed and covered a lot of ground, but never felt rushed. We even managed to stop for a couple of snacks when our eyes lit up at obscure street food and, later, in a posh food hall.

Great introduction to Osaka

We had a wonderful introduction to Osaka's history and sights. Joshua was thorough and insightful and we covered a lot of ground. I highly recommend this tour to anyone new to the city.

Damian, best guide ever, and tour of Osaka.

The best guide I have had in a very long time. His name is Damian and you should definitely ask for him. His knowledge about Japanese history, religion, myths, and geography of Osaka is fabulous. Best of all was his kindness and consideration of my 80 year old self. He had so much patience and my friend and I appreciated it. The tour covered the "hot" spots as well as places we never heard of and were even more fascinating.

Places in Osaka which Fredinand took us along with detailed and vivid eplanations were beautiful. Touring along streets and alleys gave us the inside living heart of Osaka. 10/10.

Osaka overview

Matthew is a great guide who knew Osaka like the back of his hand. He picked us up from our hotel and from there we learned how to use the metro and the JR. We started at the Osaka castle then made our way to the various breathtaking views from the Miyako hotel, down into into the Kintetsu department store at our request. He gave us extra time and it was foodie heaven. It was so much fun as we kept hopping into Metros to go from one district to another and ended up at the Dotonbori right by the running man. Much appreciation for his attentiveness and always looking after our comfort.

Our Walking Tour of Osaka

We very much enjoyed our walking tour of Osaka, think we got to see multiple aspects of the city. From Osaka Castle to high rise city views, to Koreatown to the Dontonburi, our guide, Damian, gave us fascinating insights into the past and present history of this beautiful city. Despite the heat and humidity that day, Damian made certain our tour was an enjoyable and memorable one.

The castle was picturesque. Don’t miss it. Viewing the Corey from the tallest building was awesome. But the best part of the tour was our tour guide, Damian. He knew everything!! He was professional and helpful. He was also very fun and engaging. He made every stop memorable.
