Olympia Shore Excursion: Ancient Olympia Plus Honey Farm & Olive Oil Tasting

Great tour

This was a great day! The honey bee farm was our favorite part. We both came home with the idea to be beekeepers! We also had an amazing guide for Olympus. Probably the best guide for our whole vacation. She was an amazing story teller and really helped us connect to life 800 years BC!

Include entry costs in price, careful with elderly

While this was a good tour, I rate it four stars only for the following reason - I think one should not name an excursion this way if the cost to visit the named sites is not included in the price. I did book it anyway because it had good reviews, and it was not disappointing. It was hard for my elderly but mobile parents (78 and 85) to keep up, due to heat and terrain, this is for information to anyone considering booking the tour. Even the restful visit to the honey farm was tough because of the heat and stillness as we listened to the host.

Great Shore Excursion from Cruise Ships!

We were on a cruise ship and not happy with any of the excursions offered by the cruise line at this port of call, so we booked this experience and were extremely happy. It was indeed a small group (maybe 10 or 12 of us). Loved the honey farm, our guide in Olympia was wonderful, even a little time for shopping. Would highly recommend!

Great combination of ancient ruins and honey farm

Yanna, our tour guide had interesting things to say about the Olympia area and she started the tour at Klio’s Honey Farm. We loved it. Generations have owned this farm and the owner had snacks and drinks while you heard her stories. Also had a chance to buy some of her delicious products. We also had Marietta who gave the tour of ancient Olympia. Very knowledgeable and very interesting as we viewed the ruins

This experience was one...

This experience was one of our favorite parts of our trip to Europe. The honey farm was fascinating, and the family who owns it was extremely friendly. The olive oil tasting was also great, and ended up being a great day. Don't hesitate!

We learned the history and culture of ancient Olympia. We had the privilege of being with a guide who explained in great detail the history. We then got the chance to visit a family owned honey farm that was truly a highlight. We weren't sure what to expect but this tour far exceeded our expectations

A good mix of everything

A good experience overall. We have 4 kids, so the ancient history experience was a bit boring but we enjoyed it. The honey farm was nice. The olive oil was delicious too. The tour overall was a little slow, but suited for all ages therefore.

Highly recommend this laid back tour with Ms Vasso!

This is a case of a tour escort (Ms Vasso) who made our shore excursion special! - Ancient Olympia was good; but Vasso’s effort to endure our visit went smoothly (eg, arranged a tour guide to accompany us at Olympia) made it special. - the honey farm visit was laid back but informative. Oh, and the honey was delicious! - and we bought quiet a few items at the Olive Oil tasting place, so yes, it was worth a visit. - but it was Vasso & van driver who made our trip! Vasso was engaging, lively & informative, she was a sweetheart! - BTW, we were driven around in a swanky top of the line Mercedes Benz van, wow!

This was a wonderful...

This was a wonderful excursion to attend. We learned so much about bee keeping from a local woman and it was especially nice to be at her home which she provided awesome snacks. We also bought her homemade lavendar cream which I haven't tried yet.

We had a wonderful time and never felt rushed. The host at the Honey Farm was very warm and welcoming. We learned a lot.

Best Tour Guide in Olympia!

We were privileged to have Elena as our tour guide while visiting Katakolono/Olympia. She had so much interesting information and knowledge to share with us, which made this tour very unique and very memorable for us.

This is a must-do!

Our guide was so knowledgeable of the history of ancient Olympia -it was fascinating! The honey farm is multi-generational, and the beekeeper was so informative. The farm is lovely, the people are charming, and the honey is superb! The olive oil market was chockful of delectable options.

Best way to Spend Local

This tour was perfect!! Elina was amazing, her knowledge and passion was exciting! The group was only 14 people and relaxed. Johana was very fun and lighthearted. Klio and the honey farm was a perfect introduction to Olympia’s culture LOVED IT ALL.. Thank you from Tennessee ❤️

Wooooo, Woooooo, and a little wine too.

Fun day trip with nice stops along the way. The guide was friendly, fun and full of great information. The family run operations we visited along the way, were gracious and very inviting. Aside from the "land train" ride being a bit bumpy, it was a very enjoyable experience.

The honey presentation was really good and the tasting that followed was even better! It was a family owned approach and it was authentic.

Olympic Stadium tour in Greece

Small group of ten, timely pickup at pier in a private vehicle, local and knowledgeable guides (2), family owned - simply cannot say enough about this team. While we were at the Olympic Stadium we passed a ship's tour of over 100 people and were reminded again about the wisdom of selecting a private tour.

Our guide was very well educated and provided a very interesting tour of Olympia as well as connecting us with someone at the actual museum to walk us through the site. The rest of the tour inclusive of the olive oil and honey farm was not but was expected and I would not recommend this part of the trip we were expecting to have an actual sit down tasting up olive oil’s and honey but it was basically a store selling both.

Awesome tour

We wish we had had a guide through Olympia, but ours was not certified. However, we still enjoyed going through the ruins and reading the information. The olive oil tasting and the honey farm were wonderful. Very informative and tasty.

Family owned and operated you couldn't ask for more.

We had a great time in Olympia, what history and our guide was wonderful. This is a small family owned business with the personal touch. I would recommend this tour over the big bus from the cruise ship. Door to door service with time to spend shopping in town and enough time for lunch at one of the many restaurants.

A real taste of Greece

We felt like we had a taste of a real family life in Greece, not just the portion that the busloads of tourist get to experience as they follow around the guide holding the lollipop sign. Every person we interacted with went out of their way to be friendly, informative, and welcoming. We saw generations of family working together to raise bees and make products for sale. Our guide, Helena, was excellent and led the best tour we have taken in Greece.
