Train Seat Reservation from Ella to Kandy

The reservation we were given was a train that did not exist. We would have had to change trains. Fortunately there was another train going earlier which we just managed to get but had to pay full fare. I tried to contact Viator for an explanation and refund but received no reply

Don’t book with them!

Bad experience! I got an email that the train was not available and requested a refund accordingly. I booked a new train the same day to make sure I can still experience it. One day later I got an E-mail that it was available again. So I had to pay twice which I find really unfair as they informed me it was cancelled! Just book your ticket at the station there are plenty available for less money !

They are con artists.

Reason They are scammers. They do not arrange trains at the time booked. They lie about the lack of availability. Instead, they arrange a cheaper train at another time on the same day and make the whole difference. I became suspicious of the no booking availability communication and checked the Sri Lankan Railways booking website directly and happened to notice. I then arranged my own train for the booking time I wanted. When I then informed them of the above fact and negotiated for a refund, they tried to get away with lies such as the arranged train being the same fare, etc., which in this day and age can be found on the internet. In reality, arranged trains are about half the price cheaper. They therefore identified the fraudster. The train booking is a small amount, so the pain is minor, but as long as they do this, I thought it would be better not to trust them, including other tours.

The purchase went really smooth and the agency was very reliable! Pricing was off course higher, then it would have been,if we would have bought it ourself, but that way we had our ticket secured on our preferred day.
