Taj Mahal and Agra Fort Visit

Mobin Shah was our tourist guide for both the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. Mobin was efficient in picking us up at 5:30am and ensured that we have a smooth entry into the Taj Mahal. Mobin was extremely knowledgable of both the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort and throughout the visit new where the spots were for picture perfect pictures. After the Taj Mahal Mobin then dropped us back at our hotel for breakfast to then return for us at 10:00am for the Agra Fort visit. Mobin also advised us how to keep safe throughout the trip and when to be mindful of pick pockets etc… Overall we had a very informative day and was looked after by Mobin.

Taj Mahal is amazing! This tour...well not as much.

The good: > Taj Mahal is AMAZING. So glad we did the sunrise tour since it meant we could see the Taj without the crowds. > Our tour guide took lots photos and knew how to get us into the Taj at the front of the line. The downsides of this tour: > The car was not nice (which means a lot when you're driving 4 hours in India) > It's very overpriced. You have to pay for the entrance fees at each location (which was a huge hassle since we didn't have enough cash and spent 30 minutes driving to ATMs). I'm not sure why this tour is $100+ USD pp. Another tour company we used for a trip to Jaipur said they'd do the same tour w/ entrance fees for $50 USD. It was too late since we had already paid for this one. > We only went to 2/3 stops. This felt like such a scam! We didn't go to the Baby Taj. > They try and force you, then guilt you when you say no, into going to shops at the end. So annoying. > Unprofessional conversation topics: Trump, divorce rates in India vs. the US, and when I asked to use the restroom he looked at me and said "1 or 2, pee or poop" (HUH?!) Maybe these are cultural differences, but jet lag + waking up at 2am + constant stomach issues from the food meant we didn't have any interest in these topics. We were there to learn about the Taj Mahal.

Had an incredible tour with Lucky ! He was super knowledgeable and informative and also just a joy to be around. Definitely go for sunrise if you’re going to Taj Mahal!

Glimmering

Mobin shah was a terrific guide. He explained the entire story from the construction. Told me about the family history and of the king’s wives and children. He informed about materials used. And what times and which spots I should come back to take pictures of a glowing Taj Mahal. He also made sure I was safe. I can’t really think of anything he could have added. He covered everything. I would do this again.

My tour guide was on time. I trusted him in that he warned me of potential risks due to the large crowds. The knowledge he had around the Taj Mahal was huge, also takes a good picture. All good, a memorable day.

Mobin Shah Guide Agra

The tour guide was not very pleasant and his English was hard to understand at some times. The worst part of the tour was that he pushed one of my friends to give him a five star review. Very unprofessional. The contents of the tour, visiting the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, were very nice though.

WARP SPEED TOUR, AND VAGUE MEMORIES OF AN ICONIC WONDER

Exceptional view of the Taj early in the morning when not many people are around. It is a marvellous structure! The guide was Noor. He was knowledgeable and answered questions and gave his travel monologue spiel-which was good, but only when he wasn't busy taking your phone for keeps, to create his own private photo shoot show for you, which was 75% of the time! Understand we want to remember this day, years later, by viewing these iconic photos, but the speed and voracity of the tour, the isolation of not holding your own phone, and the feeling of not being able to simply sit and take it all in, and savour the moment for 5 minutes, was so evident, and somewhat miserable. I felt like i was being chased by aliens and we were made to move on quickly at every turn! A week later i am trying hard to remember what that tour was like-as it was warp speed, and if you come on this tour at 2am in the morning, from Delhi, be warned! Dose yourself up with caffeine, and a good deal of control and verbal skills, to counteract the, ''blink or you'll miss it'' speed tour ! You'll regret it otherwise, unless you want to speed through it, and move on to another tour, and not be too concerned with vague memories of one of the wonders of the world.

SUNRISE AT THE TAJ-MINDBLOWINGLY WORTHWHILE...........

Seeing the Taj Mahal for the first time, at sunrise, when there were only crows, squirrels, and a handful of tourists to contend with, was exhilarating. The guide, Noor, had seemed to have already had his morning fix of energy, passion and motivation. He proceeded to take many pictures using my phone, from all the ideal vantage points, relieving me from any of these difficult chores, was knowledgeable and passionate about everything he spoke about, and kept the pace lively and flowing throughout the tour. He was also able to renegotiate an existing photographic deal, he assisted in making for me, with a local cameraman, that was outrageously expensive, to begin with, but i was still mentally in first gear at 6am, and was also generous enough to remain patient due to the Ramadan festival, whilst i ate breakfast. His interesting conversations about local life, and his family, allowed me to envelop myself into the culture and lifestyle more, which made this trip ever so realistic, therefore recommending Noor, for commendation is an absolute given-just make sure you are ready and caffeined up, as this tour moves quickly to stay one step ahead of the pack. A big shout out to the driver, Prim, who made a double round trip from Agra to collect me in Delhi, at 2.30 am, and go to the Taj, then drop me back into town, before doing another 6 hour run in peak hour gridlock, to his home again in Agra-a dedicated, safe and courteous driver with plenty of patience, with a pleasant personality, whose family conversations with me resonated warmly on our final journey home, and he needs to be highly recommended. Well worth doing this tour for the 2 people involved, and the never to forget scenic view of the Taj Mahal and the Fort.

Tranquillised in love

Mr Noor guided us with the amazing trip the heritage details shared are authentic appreciating the photography skills and local cuisine for breakfast was yummy and delicious and we were blessed to meet the mosaic art craftsman at Taj Handicrafts & Handlooms and to Red Fort. The overall trip took us into a tranquillised state . Thank you from bottom of our soul

From all the smallest details of the architecture of taj to the phenomenal photography I enjoyed ever but of the experience. The pictures that Noor took was no less than any professional he knows all the right angles and you wouldn’t have to care about your photos.

Irritating Guide

Obviously the Taj Mahal and Red Fort are wonderful attractions and in their own right they deserve 5 stars. However, the day was spoiled by Vipin who was not the greatest of guides. Vipin was able to spout a lot of facts but unable to answer most questions which would have demonstrated a fuller more in depth knowledge. Vipin was helpful to a degree with photos but wanted to be in charge of these and was reluctant to return phones. He was unable to understand that when first gazing at the Taj Mahal that I wanted to just absorb the atmosphere and he kept talking and telling me to move to this place and that for photos. It was also annoying when he kept telling other tourists what they should and should not be doing. Positives about this trip was the organisation and good time keeping of the driver, obviously the sites but Vipin was just far too irritating and quite spoiled what should have been a wonderful day.

Excellent experience!

This was an amazing tour and I cannot recommend it more highly. I had one free day during a business trip to Delhi and wanted to maximize my time and experience in Agra and this tour did just that. Vipin was an awesome tour guide and fantastic photographer. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Taj, Baby Taj and Red Fort but also very willing to stop for spots he knew had the best photo opportunities. The whole process was very smooth and we had no issues along the way. I know a 2:30am wake up call doesn't seem like a good choice for a vacation or day off but it is 100% worth it to see the Taj at sunrise and with way less of a crowd. Remember to bring a sweater - it gets chilly in the morning!

Trip to the Taj Mahal

Once in India, the Taj Mahal is a must-to-visit place. Beautiful and magnificent, a guided tour is highly recommended in order to get the full experience. Our guide, Pawan, was super friendly, extremely competent and an amazing photographer (that definitely helps). Highly recommend.

Excellent trip

Yes it's an early start and a long drive from Delhi but to get there before the crowds is so worth it. Maybe 100 people around while I was there compared to the thousands that arrive later. Robin was an excellent guide also.
