JD is very attentive, answers all my questions about food (and Indian politics) and ensures you learn the method and how it shapes the flavours. He very kindly arranged everything to fit around my (many) food intolerances at next to no notice. I’m very grateful for this, thank you JD!

Fantastic experience!

I absolutely loved this experience! JD and his dad were so kind, inviting us into their home and teaching us how to make different curries and bread. Everything was so well thought out, the food was delicious and it was just an absolute blast. This was my second experience with JD and I would continue to book more (if I had more time in Delhi!) If you’re considering booking this experience, do it! You won’t regret it.

Best Indian cooking class!

I had never done one of JD's cooking classes and was pleasantly surprised. We had some of the best Indian food I had ever had. And we made it ourselves!!! We loved being in an Indian home for the experience and meeting his parents. He was good at giving instructions and made the experience fun along the way. He was also very accommodating and if we needed anything he got it for us.

Amazing food and authentic experience

One of the best meals I ate in India during my 2 week stay - chicken tikka masala. I learned a lot about the techniques and tips on improving my cooking skills. The experience felt very personalized and Jd was friendly to host me. I got to learn how to cook delicious Indian food and had a great time.

Great experience with JD cook

The variety of Indian food is so great that it is easy to get lost. JD choose several light and tasty dishes that represent Indian cuisine. The hospitality at his home is pleasant and delicious and in addition you will get to know his nice parents. warmly recommended

Very tasty and great experience

We made a full meal with rice, curry, breads and rice pudding. All tasted very delicious and was a great experience. The host spoke perfect English and was very friendly. The class took place at their home kitchen which was different from anything we've done before but made for a personal experience.

Fantastic class and we felt very welcome

Fantastic cooking class with a focus on learning the process rather than worrying about quantities of ingredients (all provided in the recipes that are sent afterwards). JDs approach was really informative and fun and gave us confidence to make Indian food when we go back home. He also recommended some local shopping places that we could trust for good prices. We really enjoyed the class and would recommend to anyone wanting to learn dishes that feel achievable to replicate. The location was easy for Uber to find for transport to and from and JD was very good at communicating with us about how to find the location by sending us a photo of the outside beforehand.

Amazing ending to an Indian visit.

Solo booked last minute and was messaged with confirmation and joining instructions within seconds. What a great way to spend a few hours. JD and his family were amazings hosts. Everything was relaxed, hygienic and amazing quality. Learning with others and his family was a joy and our results made an amazing meal. A must do.

Fun Class and Good Food

Had an amazing time as this cooking class. It helped demystify the complexities of Indian cooking and showed that with some basic techniques you can learn how to cook a variety of tasty Indian foods. This class helped give me more confidence that I can cook healthy and delicious Indian food at home with too much effort.

What an amazing experience! This was the highlight of my trip ! JD and his household make you feel like one of the family! Sharing deep knowledge of Indian cooking techniques and flavours! He also offers so many more experiences around Delhi, including food tours and guided walks of street art. The class was everything we hoped for and more! The hosts were very welcoming and it was a great experience to learn their recipes in their own kitchen. The food was delicious and the recipes chosen were a nice variety. They also do online classes...we had so much fun, we are planning a reunion class! Thank you!

Highlight of our trip!

We have done quite a few cooking classes before internationally but this was definitely the best we have ever done. It was a fun evening with amazing tea, food, discussion and we learnt a lot ! JD expertly performs the cooking class with his father - a veteran in the kitchen having run an award winning Indian restaurant for many years. JD not only runs through Indian spices, the ingredients used and the reasoning behind them but also goes to extra lengths to make sure these recipes will be applicable in your own homes with your own utensils. A must do experience if visiting Delhi! Would do another class if we had the time.

Stellar night of cooking traditional Indian food. JD and his father were so kind and lovely. He focused on spicing and techniques, glad we didn’t have to waste time chopping veggies. Our dals and pratha were fantastic. The rice pudding was delish ending.

Incredible Cooking Experience

Six of us are travelling India together and we all love to cook. We had a class with JD yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. We cooked several dishes including vegetarian. It was a highly enjoyable experience that we recommend.

Great Course and Food!

This was a great class, we learned several different dishes and some of said it was some of the best meals we had on our trip. We even had a guest not feeling well and they allowed him to rest in a guest room. Hospitality and cooking A+. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This was the perfect experience! Jd and his dad made us feel welcome at their home, explained everything not only about the dishes we were making, but also about the Indian cuisine and ingredients. Warm hospitality and excellent guidance!

I joined Jd’s cooking class after attending his Old Delhi tour the day prior. It was truly an incredible experience just like the previous tour and I felt so welcomed by Jd and his family the moment I walked in the door. He emphasized focusing on the process rather than exact measurements and I left feeling confident I could replicate the meal for friends and family. He was a wonderful and patient teacher, especially for someone who has never taken a cooking class before! I had a late flight heading home that evening and Jd and his family insisted I hang out at their place until it was time to leave. Jd helped me get a cab to the airport and helped me with my bags - truly above and beyond and a true testimony to his character. I am so grateful to call Jd a friend after two incredible experiences!

Look no further! JD was an amazing host for our cooking experience. I highly recommend anyone who is even considering this to absolutely go ahead and book. The dishes we cooked were amazing but not only that we just had a great time talking to JD and learning more about the Indian culture. He goes above and beyond and his passion is absolutely incredible. Our 10 year old daughter even participated in this event and she was even able to cook like a pro. This is quite the unforgettable experience! You must book his other tours as well I can't even express how fantastic of a tour guide he is as well. Perfect way to spend an evening in Delhi

Excellent class… so well prepared and informative, JD and his dad are a delight to be around and made us feel so welcome in their home. Delicious dishes and very easy to replicate at home. Perfect amount of time also so you don’t need to set aside a full day for the class, just a couple of hours in the evening/afternoon.

Great experience

100% recommended experience! JD was an amazing host and he explained the process thoroughly. We prepared jeera rice, chicken curry, paneer, roti and garlic paratha, and kheer - everything turned out delicious. Can't wait to recreate at home!

He's a natural teacher, showing us what to pay attention to and what not to worry about. I made a meal than tasted better than a restaurant! I am confident that I can recreate it at home. I am deeply touched by JD's devotion to preserving the heritage of Indian culture. Must do Dehli food tour!

This was a once in a lifetime experience with JD and his father. Learning to cook authentic Indian dishes in a local family’s home was amazing. Incredible attention to detail and patience was given in teaching us the art and appreciation of Indian cooking! JD and his father were wonderful hosts and the company made for an incredible experience with lots of laughs along the way. Would definitely recommend this tour to any one visiting Dehli and will most certainly return if I am ever in the area again 😀

Most amazing cooking course with JD. From the moment we arrived it felt like we were visiting an old friend. JD taught us the art of cooking Indian food which is when exactly to add the spices. We had so much fun as a family . Best part was eating the amazing food we had made and the conversation around the table with JD. We could have stayed all night taking. Hopefully will get another chance to cook with JD again.

Fun experience - highly recommended!

My colleague and I were visiting Delhi for work and wanted to take in some local experiences while we were there. We stumbled upon this cooking workshop through Tripadvisor and thought it might be nice. In the end it wasn't just nice, it was great! JD was our host and taught us several dishes that we could easily make from home (and that tasted so good!). He explained a lot about the food and overall made the cooking experience super fun as well. Overall such a welcoming and nice experience that we ended up staying a bit longer and also signed up for his old Delhi tour the day after :)

Unbelievable cooking class! One of my favorite experiences in India. JD is an excellent host and will make sure you are learning and having fun at the same time. He will open the doors to his home and family and will make you feel as part of it. The food is amazing, and it will taste even better knowing that you did it. It was an incredible cooking experience. If you are looking for an authentic home cooking experience this is the Place to go. We cooked delicious meals according to their family recipe. You get a lot of valuable information about the different spices and ingredientes and more important the process how to prepare everything is excellent explained. I had a wonderful time and my best dinner in india.

Old Delhi tour with JD - a must on your visit to Delhi

We have had the most awesome time with JD today. The old Delhi tour is a must if you are in the area. With special insight into areas you would not know to find by yourself, it was a real cultural highlight of our trip, eating from local food stands throughout we got to try some amazing local foods (tried and tested by JD) We would of liked to also do his cooking class but already booked one elsewhere but check with JD before booking he is very accommodating with timings. He even helped us back on the metro at the end. Also to note a super lovely guy who is very genuine and passionate and a great story teller. Don’t miss out on this one!

Fun activity for foodies interested in cooking Indian :)

Did this incredible cooking class with a friend visiting from the UK, and we both learnt so much about the craft of north Indian food while really just having a great time! Our dietary requirements were very much accounted for, and we got great pictures as documented proof at the end. Recommending this for anyone interested in learning and having some fun!

A fantastic experience

JD and his dad provided me an authentic Indian cooking experience. I was wowed upon arrival to find their preparation and presentation. As a solo traveler, I always worry about my safety, but I felt completely at ease. JD was very patient and explains the ‘hows and why’s’ as we went along. An absolute MUST while in India

Had the most amazing experience learning how to cook Indian cuisine. JD is clearly an experienced Chef that was patient, encouraging, and a ton of fun. The cooking area is very clean and the location is safe. He made this one of the best experiences I had while in India and I can’t wait to get home to cook what I learned for my family.
