This was an incredible experience. Aditya was a chef and introduced us to an outstanding tasting of many authentic Indian dishes. From food stalls to sidewalk restaurants, we were tasting all that Delhi had to offer. Chef Aditya included interesting details about the history of Delhi. We enjoyed Tuk Tuk rides as well as taxi excursions throughout old Delhi and then New Delhi. Do not miss this food tour.

Great food experience in Delhi!

This was the highlight of our visit to Delhi! They were kind enough to let us reschedule as we both arrived feeling a little under the weather. Āditya was a great guide ! Very knowledgeable and adapted the tour for our preferences and what we wanted to see. The food was unique and delicious, definitely not anything we would have found on our own. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this experience! Not only did I try amazing foods that I might have been weary to try on my own for fear of food poisoning, I also was given deep insight into the history and culture of Delhi. The tour was very well curated, and offered a variety of types of foods and experiences, including visiting the kitchens of a Sikh temple! Aditiya, a chef himself, Was an amazing guide! Not only did he provide information about all the foods I tried, he also happily answered my many questions about Hinduism, Ayurvedic medicine, and Indian culture at large. If you are in Delhi and enjoy food and culture, this tour is a MUST!

We really enjoyed this tour! We got to try so many different foods and there was so much to eat that we couldn’t finish it all because we were too full. Aditya Shahi was a wonderful guide, friendly and knowledgeable. Our favorite had to be the Kulfi- ice cream filled in the fruit skin.

Excellent Tour, Great Value

Such a rewarding experience! Our guide Ash (Ashwani), was very informative and passionate about the tour. His English was excellent as was his awareness of his surroundings. I could never imagine visiting the streets of Old Delhi without a good guide. Our shuttle driver "Bill," was also very professional and arrived on time. Our online contact, Shikah, answered our preliminary questions in a very timely fashion. However, what stands out the most, is the timing of the tour. A lot of thought and time-tested experience has gone into this tour. It is very well designed and operates with precision. Pay the extra to have a private tour and you will be glad you did. A very real experience of Old Delhi

We were met as agreed by Aditya and walked the streets with 3 other people. It was superb to not just taste the different foods but to have them explained - why prepared in this way, how they complimented each other, what we should be able to taste and why? Waled the area, went in a couple of Tuk-Tuks, got a real feel for Old Delhi.

YOU NEED TO DO THIS TOUR!

This food tour was the most insane and delicious tour I have ever done! We started at 11 AM and literally ate our way through old and new Delhi for 8 hours! I kept thinking I couldn't eat another thing, but it was so good I had to! Our tour guide Ash was extremely knowledgeable and well read on Indian History and peppered our meals with great facts as well as answered all our questions. I would do this tour again and again and definitely recommend it to others!

Excellent insight into local food

Aditya our guide was very knowledgable and took us to places we would never have found on our own. We were shown how certain things enhance or repress the taste of others, and got to sample a wide range of local food. I was travelling alone but there was another couple on the tour, and he told us he also handles large numbers where earpieces are provided. The hotel pick-up and drop-off were welcome as I had pre-arranged transport to the airport late in the afternoon and was conscious of getting back there. Michael, Australia.

Amazing tour with amazing guide -Aditya

My friend and I book this tour for our first day in Delhi. What a way to start! We dove right in to the chaos and beauty of India. We were fortunate to have Aditya as our guide. We booked a group tour, however it was only the two of us. Aditya was waiting as our car arrived at the entrance to the Jama Mosque. He welcomed us with backpacks filled with hand sanitizer, water and face wipes. After introductions and an overview of the day, we started our tour on foot in Old Delhi. Our first stop was a popular stall where he introduced us to a number of dishes and the best part was he showed us how our tastebuds responded to eating foods in different combinations and sequences. It was fascinating! Almost every stop on the tour was chosen because it has a rich history. One of our favorites was the “mustached cookie seller”. He had a cart from which he sold light-as-air cookies. He has been selling in the same spot for decades. He had a gorgeous mustache and an infectious smile. One word of caution: DO NOT EAT BEFORE THE TOUR!! They tell you this, and they really mean it. Unfortunately I had breakfast before the tour because I had not eaten in almost a day due to traveling. I was full by the fourth stop. Also, you can just take a taste of things. Don’t feel compelled to finish everything you are served. We included the add-on for the driver to pick us up at our hotel, which was in Gurgaon. I definitely recommend including this option if your not staying near the meeting point, as it made everything so convenient and easy. We highly recommend this tour!

Fab food tour!

We loved our good tour with Aditya. His knowledge of Indian food and flavours, and how the tastes of these are absorbed was amazing! He looked after us in the busy streets of Old Delhi really well teaching us how to cross the streets. He took us to hidden treasures in Delhi to sample traditional foods that we enjoyed immensely. The rickshaw rides both bicycle and scooter were great fun. Thank you!

Delectable Delhi

My Delhi Food Tour was a wonderful experience. It was a balanced combination of history, culture, and tasting. Our guide was a chef and he explained the ingredients and preparation of everything we tried. I felt like the ultimate insider because of the many off the tourist track places we visited. Care is taken to ensure that the food you eat is of high standards. Thank you for an experience I will never forget.

Amazing Taste!

We had such a great experience to taste Indian food with a great explanation on how to taste what we tried. Our tour guide Shika understood how to convince us to try a different kind of food and showed us the way how to eat and taste food. We tried food with different spices and flavors and we were amazed that one food can change the taste several times. Shika was amazing and very helpful, I can highly recommend her. When I come again I will try out a cooking tour with her.

Local food, history, architecture, this tour has it all.

One of the best tours I've ever had and I've traveled to 30 countries. My guide, Ashwini, was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, spoke excellent English, and made it an enjoyable experience. I tasted local foods I wouldn't have known about otherwise. Highly recommend.

Amazing and Delicious

This tour offered by PETE, which is a NGO that schools slum children, was such an amazing experience. Besides having the opportunity to taste super delicious Indian food, you totally immerse yourself in Chandni Chowk, which is completely booming with life!! Remarkable experience, would definitely recommend it!

Totally full-filing

As other reviewers have advised, it is important to not ear everything that is given to - there is a lot. There were just two of us with Ash, so he tailored the tour to match our interests, including a number of photo opportunities unrelated to food. He was very personable and knowledgeable about both the food we were served and the businesses serving it, most of which had been doing so for decades.

Great, Extensive food tour

Do this as early as you can in your travels. The food tour is great in that you get exposed to lots of Indian foods. In total we ate about 12 items and we were so full by 8 but I'm glad it was that then them not giving us enough. The tour guides were very knowledgeable about food and friendly and it didn't feel rushed at all. Some of the places we ate were certainly not ones I'd be adventurous to try alone. My only feedback is how to give is perhaps some more variety in the styles of food we ate - it was very bread and curry heavy, but maybe that's Indian food? Overall very well worth it.

Eat like a local

Rajeev Goyal was tremendous in taking us to niche places in Old Delhi that have been serving the same food for over a hundred years! It was great to tap into his vast knowledge of Indian spices (he trains chefs) and experience food tastings (akin to wine tastings), where the first/second/third bites leave distinct impressions! Don't miss this!

Absolutely Amazing!!

My first day in Delhi and India, and I wanted to ease myself into the culture and the food with a combined food/shopping tour. From the very outset with communication and emails they were so prompt and polite, and designed a tour just for me with the shopping malls I wanted to visit, and some wonderful mix of old and new delhi food stops. it went for about 7 hours and was spectacular. Pick up was exactly on time at 10.30am from my hotel. the food was wonderful - very well chosen (try the ice cream!!) and I even got to learn some Hindi as well. Shihka was absolutely lovely and knowledgeable, and just wonderful. On the way home she helped me go to the pharmacy and pick up some contact lense solution - completely off topic for the tour, but super helpful. Our driver was amazing, and I am going to rebook another tour when I get to Jaipur. I couldn't recommend this enough

Delhi Food Tour and Ghandi's Delhi

On December 4 we joined Annie and other fellow travellers for the Ghandi Delhi Tour followed by the Delhi Street Food Tour! It was absolutely wonderful! The visit to the Ghandi monuments was very moving and Annie gave us a good overview of the history around it all. The museum was amazing! The Delhi Food Tour was delicious and we only ate in 2 restaurants. The rest of the dishes were all off the street! There was a fantastic variety of foods and Annie made sure we were well looked after! His bright and cheerful personality made the whole afternoon wonderful! Highly recommend both tours.:)

Too expensive for what you get

We were told to be ready at 10.30 but not picked up until 11am. The driver was great .Courteous and pleasant although that cost another $30 Australian because we were "not within the perimeter" The guide was quite good but at times a little distracted, and in a hurry We were given about 12 samples of street food in seedy little places which gave us the experience of the real India. We had a rickshaw ride and visited a room with flowers on the floor and an area where they sold lots of spices The tour ended at 3pm. The lovely driver drove us back to the hotel. I had booked this in Australia not knowing anything about India. I had been there for 2 weeks before I went on the tour. I had experienced all of this and more. I wish I had cancelled.

Rajewv Awesome Food Tour

First off, much thanks to Rajeev who made this tour a fun learning experience. Great banter and full of interesting food facts. The sweet, sour, salty and spicey made the tour great. All the flavours of India was available for me to experience. I became part of enjoying family institutions that have been serving patrons with fantastic, flavorful foods for decades. Even beeing accommodated by a full restaurant before the start of a busy festival, where they made us the VIPs by providing us a rooftop terrace and the BEST butter chicken ever! Rickshaw rides through bustling Dehli streets added to an award-winning great day. A must do with Rajeev. Tell a friend to tell a friend. Definitely a must do!

Great introduction to India

I had a couple of days on my own in Delhi before I joined a group tour and chose this tour due to the great reviews and was not let down, it was absolutely brilliant. We tasted 29 different foods throughout the day and Shikha was an absolute brilliant guide. Full of knowledge and so keen to make sure we had a great time she did an amazing job. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone, it’s set me up for a great holiday, thank you Shikha!

Fabulous Delhi food tour

Our Delhi food tour today was a fabulous insider tour of Delhi with amazing food. My daughter and I were picked up from our accommodation by our driver in an airconditioned car. Our guide Jaidev took us through Old Delhi food markets & laneways to family food shops and finished in New Delhi small family restaurants. Some of the tour was walking, some by rickshaw and some in our car. All the food was delicious, with lots of variety. Safe food is a priority on this tour, it was so well organised and we absolutely loved it. Thank you Jaidev and our driver.

This was a great tour, the full Old Delhi experience and a little New Delhi. We walked, took a rickshaw, a tuk-tuk and a local cab to the different vendors. Definitely had some new foods added to my list.

I just did the food tour old and new Delhi it was a group of 4 people wich was really nice because we got alot of personal attentions from the awesome guide Jadiev. I was a solo traveller and our guide took really good care of us. He was really knowledgeable about the history of both new and old Delhi and of course about all of the food that we tasted and the places that we visited. It is alot of places that you will visit during this tour and it will end with a big meal, so you should really skip breakfest at the hotel before this tour. The food was just amazing start to finish!

We had an amazing food tour experience with our tour guide Shikha! We started with an not to early pickup from our hotel near the airport to old Delhi. The car was nice and clean and comfortable, but our driver did not speak any english. It was raining like crazy but let up as the day went on. In any case, instead of walk the tour got us Tut Tuts to ride in from location to location, which was amazing! The food was outstanding (with a few exceptions that didn't meet everyones taste :)) but the tour was great. Lots of insight into the food culture and opportunities to buy spices and other items. You really do have to pace yourself as this is a LOT of food, but was it all so good! The last stop was by far the best and was worthy putting at the end. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour!

Excellent food tour!

I went on a tour with Shikha and her colleague around Delhi in August 2018 and had a great time. I sampled a lot of delicious Indian food and learnt a lot about flavours and spices. Shikha was a great guide - she spoke excellent English, was organised, kind, considerate of people's dietary requirements and spice tolerances and relayed a lot of information about Indian cuisine. Shikha even kindly sent me a list of the food items eaten during the tour for my information and a list of recommended restaurants for my onward travel. I would really recommend this food tour of Delhi. I would advise guests to ensure they start the tour on an empty stomach and only eat small amounts of the delicious food provided at the start otherwise they will become too full too quickly. Thank you Shikha for a great day!

Great way to eat your way through New and Old Delhi

Would recommend! I've said it before and I'll say it again. I LOVE food tours and this one didn't disappoint. I really enjoy Indian food and wanted to be sure I hit all the must-eats. It's a long tour and you should be prepared to walk. It's also very hot, but water is provided whenever you need. Definitely make sure to come hungry - there are so many food stops and everything is delicious, but make sure to pace yourself (our guide recommended only try a few bites of each dish). Our guide was great - personable and well versed on the food and culture. We were in the saket district, so the tour organized a car to pick us up and drop us off and we paid that expense on our own.

The highlight of our trip to New Delhi

This food tour was my first food tour experience ever and it was the best thing we could do visiting New Delhi for sure! We were very lucky to have Shikha as our guide and enjoyed our experience a lot. She is very professional and knowledgeable; she introduced us to the most amazing food items (by the way we tried 18 items during 6 hours of the tour)!!! We also received great restaurant recommendations for Agra which we followed and loved our lunch in one of the suggested places. Thanks a lot! Kate and friends

Great food experience

Beyond the tourists in old Delhi

We booked this because we love Indian food but it was so much more. We saw parts of old Delhi which a tourist would never see and Raj's explanations of the food have changed our ideas of food for the future. This is a trip not to be forgotten. It was brilliant value and made the best part of a unique holiday. I wish I could bottle some of the sights, tastes and sounds to open for a rainy day in England where we probably won't find sublime buffalo milk milkshakes!

Just as tasty and fascinating the second time

I took this tour the first time I was in New Delhi in late 2013 and loved it. I’m back for a few days with friends, one of whom booked this tour for us. I was happy to see that it was with the same company. The four of us were met by Shikha at Chandni Chowk, after being picked up at our hotel by our driver for the day. This food tour was as memorable as the first one and had very few repeats. Fortunately two of my favorites were still on the tour - the fruit sandwich and the kulfi. Shikha personalized the tour for us - two of my friends had just learned their daughter had become engaged, so as we walked through the wedding area, we stopped in a couple invitation places and one of them gave my friends a sample of an Indian wedding card. We learned a lot about the best way to enjoy the dishes we had; Shikha made sure to caution us in pacing in order to enjoy the day; gave us a great tip on taking a time lapse photo in the market; made sure we had enough water, hand sanitizer, wet wipes and tissues. Bathroom stops were included. The tour took us through Old Delhi, where we walked, rode in both bicycle and electric tuk-tuks, before leaving the crazy chaos to go to New Delhi, where we finished with fire paan. A terrific way to spend the day in New Delhi!

Exceeded our expectations and would highly recommend it to anyone

In addition to an amazing array of outstanding food, we were treated to an insider's look at the back streets and daily activities of both New and Old Delhi. It was a terrific way to get to know the various neighborhoods of a fascinating city.

Brilliant Tour

I had always wanted to try this tour and finally ran out of excuses not to. What a great tour an ideal balance of walking, history and street food. Jayvid our guide was great and even emailed a couple of further suggestions after our discussions on the Tour. Brutally honest the Old Delhi Tour was just about right in terms of consumption ( having avoided hotel breakfast), the added challenge of the New Delhi portion was v nearly too much - adventurer be warned. I did wait a week after the trip before commenting and thus far no untoward issues from the tour and for the discovery of Paratha World I will always be grateful

A foodies journey through the centuries

Before we come to the details here are some basic facts about our 2-person food tour: -18 different dishes in various locations -visit of Old Delhi and New Delhi -sightseeing with insider information -explanation and studying of the human ability to taste and smell -goodie bag with sanitary utensils (hand sanitizer, wet wipes, fresh water, handkerchiefs) First, we got picked up by a driver at our hotel. He didn't say much but had a very calm and save style of driving and delivered us at the meeting point, were Shikha waited for us. She introduced herself and gave us a short briefing about the tour we were going to start. Then she provided us with the necessary tools to have the most possible safety while trying a little selection of the vast number of Indian dishes. Beginning with a little selection of different tastes she explained to us the methods of tasting food and the functions of the various kinds of spices. Then she continued the tour, always trying to give us the best possible experience according to our taste. But she equally surprised us many times with totally unexpected new and wonderful flavors we would’ve never tried on our own. All in all, it has to be said, that Shikhas food tour was one of the best decisions we made during our holidays in India. At first it seemed a little more expensive compared to other options, but it was truly worth more than every penny! She even gave us great advices for different restaurants in the cities we were going to visit after Delhi! So the last thing we can say is a big THANK YOU for this great experience. Their organisation and communication is excellent and they are extremely accommodating. We were collected from, and returned to, our hotel timeously. We sampled a large variety of foods, sweet and savoury and every one of them was delicious. I would highly recommend this tour as and introduction to Delhi.</p>

If you only have time for one tour in Delhi this has to be it! Not only do you get to see Old Delhi and New Delhi with an informative guide I sampled some of the best food I have had in India. Plenty of food and lots of variety. I highly recommend this tour.

Amazing, Not to be Missed!

This is our first time to India and this 6-7 hour food tour of Old Delhi and New Delhi was the best introduction to Indian foods and spices. In addition to the food we were taught how to taste the foods and spices, so amazing. On our own we could never have experienced the back streets of Old Delhi and all the wonderful foods that Shikha introduced us to. Shikha and Rajeev, the owners, are very passionate about their tours and culture, sharing with so much enthusiasm.
