Gajendra Singh from A Chef's Tour Delhi Was incredible. We ate some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten and learned so much about Indian culture, history, and food. If you are coming to Delhi, do not miss this tour!!! Wear comfortable shoes as you’ll do a lot of walking but he will take you places you would never find on your own. It was over 100 degrees on the day of our trip and he made sure we always had water to stay hydrated. A truly unique one of a kind experience that gave me goosebumps. Went on a food tour through the historic Chandni Chowk area with Gajendra. He was a superb guide and led us to some fantastic food spots in the city where we could experience local cuisine. Very knowledgeable and friendly guide, highly recommend.

Amazing experience - Highly recommended

So you are planning your trip to India, you adore Indian food or you are curious to try it but you get the instructions from everyone to be cautious, do not eat from the street, and you got already afraid of the famous "Delhi belly". Well I was on the same page but this tour changed entirely my whole trip and overall experience by helping me overpassing my fears and get a real taste of India. Walking around the narrow and busy streets of Chandni Chowk, the tour guide Gajendra introduced us to the secrets of Indian cuisine with constant changes between sweet and savory dishes. The food was keep coming while he was explaining more and more about the history of the neighborhood and the origin of each tasty food we were having. In addition, we got a glimpse of asias largest spice market and some stunning views from its rooftop. As I initially mentioned, this tour changed completely my approach for this trip and I deeply want to thank Gajendra for this. His well planned tour, his knowledge and general attitude was very much appreciated. Based on this experience we have also booked a trip to Taj Mahal with him which also was a blast. So to summarize, I fully recommend this tour if you are looking for some original indian food tasting. Just sit back and enjoy while Gajendra is guiding you through the secrets of the Indian cuisine.

Fantastic tour, amazing food and great tour guides!

What an great experience! Gajendra was amazing, super knowledgeable and made us feel very safe the entire time. Through this tour I felt like I got to truly experience India. We met some very skilled shop keepers and had the best food I’ve eaten during my entire stay in India. 10/10 would do again.

Six stars for an adventurous experience.

Honestly, if I could give six stars I would. I didn’t realize I was the only patron on the tour which ended up being the best possible experience I could ask for. My guide Gajendra was so friendly, knowledgeable, and took great care in tasting me through Old Delhi. The food, the insight, the spice markets, everything was 10/10 and I never felt unsafe. Be warned, there are A LOT of people in these markets and a quick step is required at times. Even so, it felt like a full immersion into local Delhi culture. I will forever remember this day and Gajendra, and will be forever grateful for the experience. **Pro tip, bring a tote bag to more easily transport your purchases like a water bottle spice bags and teas. Put the wallet, hand sanitizer, and other personal items in a crossbody bag. Also, arrive open minded and ready for adventure!

Excellent tasty street food experience

Really enjoyable walking street food tour from very knowledgable guide who had excellent english. Took in Sikh temple/food kitchen which was interesting (remember need knees/headcovered, but you'll be given something to wear if you forget) tasty stalls of sweets, a canteen with scrumptious dahl/paneer/fresh roti and a cramped paratha place that was fantastic experience. Loved the tour felt very safe with guide. Included a spice outlet that of course everyone bought stuff from not to mention got a chapati pan for 120 rups!

Great food, greater guide

Although old Delhi can be really hectic for a tourist, Gajendra, our guide, provided a unique experience, giving a complete tour in the the spice markets while simultaneously helped us explore new tastes that we wouldnt be able otherwise. Totally a must-have for any tourist in Delhi.

Do not miss this food tour

Really interesting and varied. Saw many streets and areas if the market I wouldn't have ventured in alone. Our guide Gajendrar Singh was excellent. He had lots of interesting information about the area and it's history.We visited a sheikh temple and made chapattis in the food kitchen.The food was amazing and tasted delicious. Lots of choice of dishes and they were made fresh in front of us. A tour not to miss but make sure you are hungry when you start🙂

A Must in Old Delhi

Manesh was a wonderful guide & was patient when we’d slow down to take photos. Took us to many local stores that had been operating for many generations & definitely not something you could do without a knowledgable guide. I would highly recommend him & this tour. Thank you so much Manesh🙏

Our guide Gajendra Singh was excellent but I think the culinary experience was quite limited - for me it was more of a guided tour of Chandni Chowk Market.

Fantastic, must do tour with Singh.

A brilliant morning with Singh. He met at our hotel and took us so some great places on our trip. We tasted a variety of different things throughout the trip that we would not of seen or tried had we been on our own. Singh taught us lots about Old Delhi and the history of its food places. He is very passionate and should be proud of his knowledge and heritage. Highly recommend and hopefully we will return to meet again.

Perfect Day in Old Delhi

We had a wonderful walking tour with Gajendra and learned so much about the history of Old Delhi. We discovered wonderful, delicious street food that was safe to eat and the wonderful hidden spice market, which hadn’t been on my radar previously. Definitely a highlight! We only had one day to explore old Delhi and I’m so glad that we were able to have this be part of our itinerary. Gajendra was also great about pointing out and stopping at s few shops , including the oldest perfume shop. I will gladly hired as an including the oldest perfume shop. I highly recommend this walking tour!

Our street food tour in Old Delhi was fantastic. Our guide, Rajesh, was very fun and took us some many places to try an amazing variety of foods and snacks - both savory and sweet. My wife and I had a tremendous time, and it was fascinating to learn the history of the area as we sampled various treats. Highly recommended!!

Amazing food tour!

Make sure to come to the tour very hungry, you will stop at tons of places for a wide variety of types of food and drinks. We loved walking down the streets of Old Delhi and learned a ton. The people are warm, inviting and love to share stories about India's incredible culture.

Incredible tour of Old Delhi! This was our first day in Delhi, Gajendra was very knowledgeable about the area and took us to some great places to try Delhi Street food which was all delicious. I would highly recommend this tour!

First time visit to Delhi

We did this tour on our very first evening in Delhi and I’m very glad we did. It was the perfect way to dip our toe in and experience Old Delhi and the food culture of the city. The tour guide was fantastic and the whole experience made us feel more confidant to explore the city. All the food we tried was unique and delicious. I’d recommend doing this tour

Baby Chai Rules

India is such a lovely place, albeit hard by Western standards, but lovely nonetheless. The people are warm and kind and generous and Gajendra tops that list. He loves what he does and it shows. He is engaged and attentive and funny AF. He has a smile for days. We had the BEST time with him. The foods were scrumptious. The locales were out of the way and authentic. And the experience was one for the ages. We loved every minute of it and would not change a thing. Wear elastic pants, comfortable shoes, bring a hefty appetite and a good sense of adventure. Leave your judgement at the door and bring a good heart and open mind. You will not regret any of it. We also did the Taj Mahal tour with him and he is really the hostest with the mostest. Please ask him about Baby Chai.

The perfect way to explore Old Delhi!

This was a fantastic tour!! It was the perfect way to get to know Old Delhi from a local’s perspective. We were able to see the Jain temple and to learn more about its history and religious traditions. We were also able to explore the city’s markets and do some shopping. And of course, the food was incredible! I was able a variety of local foods, and everything we ate was safe, local, and super delicious. Gajendra was an incredible tour guide: well-informed, friendly, and fun to talk to! He knew a ton of little local spots that tourists don’t usually get to see. He was also able to answer all of my random questions about the city’s history, culture, and food. I was also the only person on our tour that morning, so it really felt like I was just exploring the city with a friend. I would 100% recommend doing this tour, either with a group or solo!

Gajendra went above and beyond to make sure my tour was amazing and that I got to see as much as possible. He is very knowledge and full of facts. I wouldn’t have been able to see all that I did without taking the tour as he included spots I wouldn’t have even thought to have visited on my own!

Food Galore and more

We booked this last minute day of and we are so glad we did! It was a great few hours spent tasting amazing food and talking to the guide. Our guide Achaleshwar was just the best! He answered any questions we had and give us tips and recommendations. We also got go visit temples and iconic shops around old Delhi. There was no limit to how many times you wanted a certain food item but we stuffed from 1st. I wouldn't hesitate booking this :)

Experience Old Delhi with a knowledgeable and fun guide

Gujendra was an exceptional guide through the old Chandni Chowk area. His knowledge of the culture, architecture, and religion is rich. He shared his knowledge with enthusiasm and told colorful stories about the Mughals. My children were so happy to learn from him. He is fun too! My husband had never been to old Delhi. Gujendra helped my husband to fall in love with the streets and the spice market. It was a tour for the senses and the mind and the soul. We were able to visit the Shiva temple and the Hanuman one. Gujendra‘s love for old Delhi is contagious. He is a great tour guide/historian/storyteller. Highly highly recommended.
