We had a 5 day, 4 night tour visiting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Once the tour was booked, we were in communication with Shakul, who helped us tweak the itinerary based on the departure flight time and was super responsive to emails And whatsapp for any updates/questions we had.
Once we arrived in Delhi, Vishan took care of us all 5 days as our driver and we had a local tour guide in each city.
Delhi - 1 night - we were picked up at the airport by Vishan who prepped us a welcome gift and had a variety of snacks, water, hand sanitizer, and facial wipes. He immediately made us feel welcomed and let us know not to hesitate should we need anything else along the journey. He let us know that while the tour package included 1 bottle of water per person per day, he’d always make sure that the car would be stocked with water at all times. That was an extremely nice touch. He shared with us the itinerary so we knew exactly what to expect over the next 5 days.
Our tour guide in Delhi was Indu. Her English was good and she was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited along with other various questions we had about Delhi or India as a whole. She was patient and helpful in letting us know what to expect and helped us take a few pictures as well. I was extremely impressed by Indu as she mentioned not many woman go into this line of work and I commended her for being as good or even better than the boys :) #girlpower. Definitely if you’re doing this tour, ask for Indu!!
Agra - 1 night - Vishan drive the 3 hour drive bright and early the next morning. He was extremely patient with us despite us running late. Once we got to Agra, we were introduced to Mahesh, who was our tour guide. Mahesh, while soft spoken, was like a walking history book. He knew all the stories and the details and design history of all the Mughal empire. The following morning for the sunrise tour for Taj Mahal, he walked us through the entire Taj, showing us all of the best photo spots. He’s a phenomenal photographer so if you want the best photos of the Taj Mahal without having to pay a professional photographer, He’s your man!
Jaipur - 2 nights - Vishan drove the lengthy 6 hours to Jaipur Smoothly and safely. I’ve heard horror stories of not being able to rest in cars in India but I slept like a baby under Vishan’s care. Our tour guide was Surya, who was a local to Jaipur. He was extremely friendly and amicable and again, was another tour guide who knew a lot about his city. He was extremely accommodating to our request to change up the itinerary and take us to see a local market so we can experience a different kind of shopping. He even directed us to a local McDonalds since we wanted to see if India mcd was different from the US. I also really appreciated that he constantly reminded us to not feel pressure to buying anything as some of the shopping places in India can be a bit pushy.
On our way back to Delhi, PCTI squeezed one more activity for us given that our flight was late and we didn’t want to spend 6 hours at the airport. Vishan took us to elephant village where we were able to feed, bathe, and ride elephants. It was such a pleasant experience. Highly recommend. While it seems like a tourist trap, there was really no one there so we were able to enjoy the time with the elephants without the swarm of tourists which was refreshing after having to fight through crowds the rest of the trip.
We chose our own accommodation using hotel points so I am unable to comment on their offering which includes hotel.
Overall, if you’re going to do this tour, I highly recommend to request Vishan as your driving and the tour guides I mentioned in the above. You’ll be an in great hands and after this trip, India has become one of our favorite places/experiences in the world thanks Vishan, Indu, Mahesh, Surya, and the rest of the PCTI team.
