Thrilling ride to Rick’s on the cataraman.

The cruise director was fun and energetic and provided a lot of interesting facts about Jamaica and the wonderful people. The snorkeling was a little disappointing, not to the fault of anyone but conditions were not favorable to be out at the reef so we went to an alternate spot where there was not a lot of marine life. The small boat to Rick’s was quite an experience as it seemed more like a thrill ride bobbing around in the large waves and crashing into the rock walls as we were getting off and on the boat. The onboard photographer was friendly as was most of the staff however the bartender seemed like she didn’t want to be there, acting almost annoyed when I asked for drinks. As a bartender you are almost as responsible for the party as the director. Put on a smile and make us feel welcome! Also, we are not big dancers, and I get that it’s a party boat, but if we’re just enjoying watching other people have their fun, let us enjoy that. Not everyone likes to participate the same way.

Horrible! The driver never showed. We missed it and weren’t offered a refund or reschedule. A scam!!!

A great time in Jamaica on the Sunset catamaran!

The host were great. Although it rained a couple of times the host kept everyone happy, dancing and having fun. We were able to get in the snorkeling and Ricks was also fun.

A Must Do

This is a must do experience. Dexx and the crew were fantastic. Our friends been on many catamaran excursions, but says this one was the best!

More time at Rick’s

Our driver Don was awesome by finding us, he also provided good info throughout the drive. Margaritaville was a fun time (food and drinks a lil pricey), the catamaran was low energy but the snorkeling was a good time. Rick’s vibe was high energy but waited almost an hour for food (had to take it to go). More time is needed at Rick’s to enjoy the entertainment and be able eat there. Jerk chicken and lobster were delicious.

Do it!

Great experience! The best thing I did in Jamaica. I wish we could’ve snorkeled for a bit longer. The bar was great! Make sure you eat before you come on, there were only chips to eat.

Amazing time

Our driver Darren was professional and had great time management despite dealing with some difficult passengers. The cruise was great, not much variety of snacks as it was just some cheesy crisps.

Best experience ever! This was a great trip to snorkel and see Ricks Cafe, The boat captain and crew were amazing and we saw lots of sea life

Recommend booking with them

The crew was amazing. A bus came to pick us up and took us to Margaritaville. We stayed there approximately 1.5 hours. Then we walked into the ocean to load the boat. The crew was super nice. I enjoyed snorkeling, since it was my first time I stayed near the boat and that was fine with me. The waves were too choppy to dock so we went back to Margaritaville to load the bus. This is where it became chaotic. No clear instructions were given so the drivers weren't sure what we needed to do and the passengers were lost. We eventually all ended up at Rick's for 1 hour. All in all I would still recommend this experience to anyone.

Amazing from start to...

Amazing from start to finish. Our driver collected us from Montego Bay and took us to negril, we then boarded the catamaran we stopped to snorkel in the beautiful sea before heading onwards to Ricks. The energy of the staff members is unmatched. Thank you for a fantastic experience.

GREAT BOAT RIDE, but HORRIBLE Experience GETTING TO THE BOAT….

SWIMMING TO THE CATAMARAN BOAT… They advertised to bring a towel and sunscreen…. Nowhere in the email did they mention that we would have to walk in the chest-high water to get to the catamaran… my granddaughter is only 5 feet tall and if we were told this I would NOT have booked and paid for this trip. It was 17 family members and that was the only part that we didn’t like… The wind was also too high to get out at Ricks Cafe so we had to go back to Margarittaville, get on the bus and then go to Ricks, but we all opted out and went back to our resort. Before we left some other guy gets on our bus to say that they were not giving a refund if we didn’t go to Ricks…. NO ONE ever said that we wanted money back…. We needed to get dry and eat. Oh I forgot to mention that I ordered food at margaritaville and along with the enclosed plastic ware was a roach attached to it…. I left the food were it was, actually paid for it and left… Our driver MO, was GREAT…he and our tour guide was TERRIFIC FOR OUR EXPERIENCE..

Wouldn't recommend to overcrowded

To overcrowded and I think one of the crew had more rum punch than me..one upside the girl serving at the bar was lovely made sure you we're served when it was your turn but beware they come from all angles to the bar half didn't know what a queue was..

Did Not Receive Paid Photos From Catamaran Tour

Took the cruise on May 21 and was forced to go even though it was storming at our hotel in Negril. Per Nexus Tours it was not storming at Rick's Cafe. Doesn't seem safe but we got over that once the weather cleared. My biggest disappointment is that we paid for pictures on the boat and never received the email. We took a screenshot of the number of the person responsible in case this happened, and they won't return any calls or texts. We have also complained to Nexus and they did not receive a response from the operator as well. Nexus won't refund our money until they talk to the operator who won't respond to them. Now Nexus is trying to give us the operators email to contact them. If the contracted operator isn't responding to Nexus why would they respond to us. It seems Nexus is comfortable with their customers being scammed by the operators that they have contracted. Don't pay for anything extra on these tours as you may not get it and have no recourse. I will never use Nexus for tours again. I have always had good experiences with Amstar

Great Time!

We loved everything about it from the driver to the host of the Catamaran! Our only issue was that they allowed the locals to solicit goods on the the beach at Margaritaville, which was very exhausting when it came to telling them no. They would become rude once you didn’t buy anything, so learn how to say no! But once we departed the beach everything was great, our host Dex was great, so was the DJ. We didn’t get to dock at Rick’s Cafe due to choppy waters, so we spent a little more time partying on the boat, as we had to turn around to go back to Margaritaville and drive about 10-15 mins back to Rick’s cafe. Once there we did wish we could’ve spent a little more time, but we had a great time!

Fun Excursion!

Amanda was great! She made sure that we got on this boat after it was cancelled twice due to not meeting its quota. But she was able to communicate and got us on. Our driver Daren was the best!! He was super friendly and really catered to our needs! The tour itself was great! The crew was fun and we were able to snorkel and hang out at Rick’s cafe. Overall, definitely recommend!!

New crew needed

We were on the Tortuga. I would do the same cruise but with a different crew. Only two friendly people - the bartender and the entertainer. Also, I am down for loud music but not when the speakers can’t handle it. Either get better speakers or turn it down.

Not a sunset catamaran experience, very loud music, less than 3 hour boat ride.

They took us to Margaritasville, it was not clear on where to go or where to be. The boat was not there on time. Stated we would board at 2:15, boat wasn’t there until after 2:30. I didn’t know that we were walking in water hip high to get on the boat. It was more a party boat, the music was extremely loud. They expected everyone to wear life vests, but the they wanted tips for their divers, and their staff did not wear life vests. Very difficult to snorkel with a life vest on. Not very good experience with snorkeling, basically just said go in that direction. They did not have banana chips or anything similar, it was generic cheese puffs or chips. We were picked up by bus at Ricks instead of riding Catamaran back to Margaritasville. It was not explained that pickup was not the same place as drop off. I signed up for sunset Catamaran, we were dropped off at Ricks cafe at 5:30 pm, no where near sunset. I am very disappointed as Sunset catamaran was in the description of the tour! We were dropped back off at our resort before sunset, I was hoping to be in catamaran for sunset! I’m thankful I purchased the round trip option from resort. Our driver was good. The scenery was wonderful, no guide or site explanation.

Fantastic Experience!

The crew was professional, friendly, and very fun! The boat was clean and spacious! And the drinks were very good! We had a smaller group booked on our tour, so easy transfers to and from Rick's Cafe. Overall a fantastic experience!

Disgraceful

Booked a family boat which got cancelled and was then put on a party boat without our knowledge, full of wacked out drunken barley clothed kids, all grinding up on each other, couldn't hear yourself above the vile lyriced music, boat left almost an hour late, snacks were a bag of crisps , never went more than about 4 miles , wow £130.00 would rather have burnt the money, stay clear , even crew were having a fight when we returned to shore, refund refused ,

Horrible Service

A horrible story. The driver never showed up to pick us at our lobby. We were right on time as specified. We waited for over half an hr,I decided to call TripAdvisor there company. The lady said that they were at the lobby but that is a lie, we never got a message from them to inform us that there were waiting for us. I would never book through this company again.

Great Value

I especially enjoyed watching the sunset. Just the right balance of experience for the time allotted to the event.

Great solo trip

I had amazing time. We on a solo trip and booking the catamaran was thr cheapest way to get to Rick's Cafe. I was able to enjoy the entertainment, snorkeling, Margaritaviile and Rick's cage. Great bargain for my buck.

So much fun!!

Amazing experience! We want to book it again before we leave because we had so much fun! We each had a great amount of drinks, conjured at ricks and had a good time dancing on the boat!

Rick’s was good, catamaran was best!

Fun trip. Catamaran staff were wonderful providing entertainment and a safe scuba experience. Ricks cafe was interesting. Amazing to watch people cliff jump. Overall a bit too crowded and bustling for my liking, but definitely an iconic place worth a visit. Catamaran ride made it all worthwhile. (Just beside Sunset at the Palms…..the Bammie…..Captain Big Bird!

Way too loud and crowded.

Too LOUD. This "tour" runs tight along the Negril cliffs where patrons of luxury resorts lounge and swim and nap. For two to three hours every afternoon, this and 8 other catamaran tourist trips voyage to Rick's Bar. They play "music" at way over 11 volume and have screaming DJs that disturb the peace like nowhere else. Repeated requests by the resorts for a break fall on deaf ears - no wonder. Stop it now.

Not what it says on the tin

Disappointed to say the least - not at all what we were expecting. We were expecting a sunset catamaran cruise but got nothing of the sort. We were collected from the hotel at 12.30 and told we were going to go to Margaraitville to get on the catamaran, however not until 14.30 and that we could either go shopping and receive a beach bag if purchased something or stay in Margaraitville, have a drink/food and wait for the catamaran (bearing in mind you're not supposed to drink before snorkelling. The coral is dead and there were hardly any fish to see. We then headed towards Rik's Cafe and when we arrived we were told we were unable to access the cafe via the water as it was unsafe so they would take us back to Margaraitville to get the bus to Rik's Cafe which was not what we'd paid for. There were other catamarans also at Rik's cafe and they were all advising the passengers that it wasn't safe to go across but it didn't feel right. We and several others refused to go the Rik's cafe as this was not a sunset cruise as promised so just wanted to go back to our hotels and there was then some issues as to if we would be taken back - it was mentioned about paying for a private taxi at one point. We spoke to several others from our hotel who had also booked to do a sunset cruise alongside others for a day cruise on different dates (and different operators) and they all sadi the same that the coral was not good and were taken by bus to Rik's Cafe as is was unsafe - however the sea was very calm.

Overrated and crowded

Total chaos with bored people in a place where they feel like they should be having fun but are not. Drink prices on par with everywhere else. Cliff jumping fun but no signage about losing jewelry and watches which half our party did lose. They don’t limit the number of people who can enter.

Good vibes

This is a lot more fun than it seems (with the right people). Between the Alcohol and vibes. You gotta make it your own. Ricks cafe was all right. They got really strong drinks at the bar. The guys on the boat are nice. If you don’t plan on getting wet, heads up you have to walk in the water to get on the boat (about waist deep depending on your height)

Wunderkind cruise!!

Staff was great, snorkeling was run efficiently, loved Ricks and cliff jumping!! Great Margaritas at Rick's!!

Awful experience

Being soaken wet for 4 hours. Ricks was so crowded that I didn't attempt to go. The boat was over crowded. Approx 125. Standing room only. Was never picked up at the hotel. Worst sunset catamaran ever experienced

Highly recommended

Amy the owner of the boat company was phenomenal, she was always in touch before the trip via e-mail and texts since we had a very large group and she wanted to make sure we are well accommodated. She even created an invite card for us so I can send it to everyone is our party. The overall experience was wonderful.

Fantastic experience

From when Captain Morgan picked us up at our hotel we enjoyed every minute. The boat and crew were fantastic. Snorkeling was fun despite the choppy conditions. Rick's Cafe is wild but a must do experience. I even did a jump - just the little one. You just can't go there and not do it!

Good times but not to organized this excursion.

This was fun. The only part I was unhappy about was the water was choppy so they said they would shuttle us to Ricks Cafe so when we get in the parking lot we were told we had to pay 30 each cuz we were staying at airbnb not a resort which didn’t make sense I paid the same amount of everybody else. But other than that good times.

Not worth the cost and time

This is an all day tour from Montego. We were not picked up 90mins before 2pm as advertised in the guide, we were picked up at 1020am and we did not get back to the hotel until 8pm. The cruise was fine , but nothing spectacular for a couple. There was nothing romantic about this sunset cruise. The younger single attendees had loads of fun getting drunk with the lifeguards however! We did not get to stop at Rick’s cafe due to choppy waters and was left without a choice to go with the shuttles. Even though our preference at 530pm then was to be back on land and heading back to Montego for dinner reservations which we also missed. The shuttle driver was patient and kind. He kept us safe and comfortable during the transit. If you are booking this from Montego Bay you will be pooled with others …pick up everyone to go , then drop them back after as well. This experience was not worth the money and I will not recommend for couples or anyone leaving from MoBay. It’s an all day tour with the shortest time of the day… on the cruise itself.

not a fan

the catamaran workers were AMAZING!!!!✨❤️ however i booked to get picked up from Riu Reggae in Montego Bay, only to be told they do not pick up on monday, we never got off at ricks because the water was extremely rough, & we paid for the bus transport and NEVER GOT ON OR COMPENSATED for the extra $$ we had to pay for a driver to take us.

A great time!

This was a great experience. The sun shine crew was so nice and fun, and they made sure to keep an eye on everyone during the day! If you are looking for a packed afternoon in negril with snorkeling and a lot of booze this is definitely the cruise to book.

Worth the hype!

Catamaran was great! Snorkeling was good, even though I didn’t see any fish!😳. Rick’s was worth the hype…I jumped…but off the baby landing!🥴. All in all…had a great time!!

Not for everybody

This is definitely a party cruise and should be advertised as such. If you enjoy rap music and twerking then this is the cruise for you. Snorkeling was minimalistic.

Relaxing and fun!

We had a wonderful time on this adventure! From the time we were picked up until we went home the crew were wonderful! The weather was awesome - the catamaran was perfect! We had a great time snorkeling!

Exactly what we wanted

This was the best thing we did in Jamaica! It included so many things we wanted to do/see, and it went off without a hitch. The staff were so nice, and we felt totally safe the whole time. When we went the boat was not overcrowded at all, don’t listen to the bad reviews. It was fun getting to talk and dance with new people! The whole day from pickup to drop off ended up being about 5 hours I think (1:30 to around 6:30), so plan accordingly. I was worried after reading some of the reviews but honestly everything was great and I’m so glad we did this cruise. Would highly recommend!!

DO NOT BOOK! Horrible Experience All Around

Absolutely horrible experience. Shuttle service was half an hour late. We felt rushed at Margaritaville with only 20 minutes to have a drink. The catamaran loads passengers in waist-deep water with no assistance from crew while boarding a rocking vessel. The crew were drinking and partying rather than tending to passengers and safety measures. Snorkel equipment is unsanitary and kept in dirty buckets filled with seawater. Again the entire time you’re supposed to have access to all-inclusive bar the bartender was off drinking with one of the “lifeguards”. Once you arrive at Rick’s you are dumped off into a small wooden boat with no life jackets and no room for seating for the 30+ people they cram on. From there you have to time your exit from the small wooden dingy just right or risk injury to your feet and legs against the rocks. Once at Rick’s and due to my wife’s injury we immediately called a taxi and went back to our resort unable to enjoy the destination, or a return trip on the catamaran.

On point excursion

Everything on point for this excursion. Make sure you hydrate as you are going to get drunk if you want to! Haha. Drinks are strong and the staff are great. Perfect amount of time at Ricks cafe.
