Naxos history

This was a very informative tour! We went to a beautiful, very old church. Toured an old olive press and had extra time to see a cool little pottery shop and were able to purchase items if we wanted. Our guide (Thanos) grew up in the area so he knew what he was talking about. He was very nice and answered other questions that were asked. It was one of best parts of our Greece trip! I highly recommend!

Great bus tour well done!

It was a fabulous tour of the island. Without a car we wouldn’t have seen any of these things. It was a great price really informative and we saw beautiful sites. I was old definitely say do it especially if you don’t have a car

A fantastic tour if you are pressed for time

It was a real whirlwind tour (40 minutes at Demeter's Temple and 25 minutes at Chalki) but I did it because I only had one day. Nevertheless it was a great way to see some of the ancient sites on the island, learn about the culture and explore the inland landscape (including breathtaking views). If you have more time, I would recommend taking a longer tour, self-guided or otherwise, although the information provided by the tour guide on this trip was really valuable. If you do take this tour, I would suggest sitting on the right side of the bus until Panagia Drosiani, for the best views, and the left side after that. Note that there is no stop in Kinidaros or by the marble quarry.

Excellent driver and guide. Good value for the cost.group not too big. Bus comfortable although some seat belt buckles were difficult to engage (rows 3 & 4)

The best of Naxos!

This was one of the best things we did during our two weeks in Greece. Learned so much by seeing the pottery, villages, church, olive press, and more—and particularly enjoyed the incredibly knowledgeable and fun tour guide, Thanos.

Great Tour

Great tour especially if you don’t have a lot of time in Naxos. Half day tour and we visited a number of sites. Thanos was great as our tour guide!

We Live Naxos!

Both Thanos and George did a tremendous job informing us about Naxos. George was masterful in getting us through the narrow streets. Thanos was very proud of his roots in Naxos and that made the experience so much better.

We did the half day bus tour and it was fantastic. We got to see some great sites lots of stops along the way, Alex was an incredible tour guide and knew a lot about the history in Naxos. George was a great driver. Both friendly and welcoming, they even had cold water for everyone on the bus. Thank you again! 😊

Great Insight into Life on Naxos

We really enjoyed the half day tour. It covered a lot and gave us a really good insight into life on Naxos as well as the history. The villages we visited in the mountains were beautiful and the old 4th C church was quite something. Thanos our guide was great, and extremely knowledgeable. The tour ended at an Olive oil museum where our group had the chance to taste lots of delicious things. A great afternoon. Thank you

Great tour guide - Dimitri

We had a wonderful tour with Dimitri. He was so knowledgeable and passionate about Naxos. Very warm and welcoming and we really enjoyed his stories. It is 100% worth the money for everything you experience. The half day tour was also the good choice for maximizing your time.

Inside View of Naxos

This tour is a wonderful way to get to know Naxos better. Our tour guide Thanos grew up on this island and his love for it was obvious. His delivery was knowledgeable, interesting and humorous . George the bus driver was excellent and safe.

Very interesting tour with stops at lovely villages and artisanal crafts and we gained a good overview of the island. Friendly tour guide and driver. Would recommend.

The tour was great. It was fast paced but it works. Good for those who are short on time. Thanos was great and mixed historical facts with humour. Macky was great as well.

The Best of Naxos,

I was staying in Paros and just spent the day in Naxos. I visited old town in the morning and did the afternoon tour. This was a fabulous tour that showed many of Naxos’ best highlights! All the places we visited were great…ancient temple, a liqueur distillery, olive oil tasting and others! People on the bus remarked how much fun the tour was. The views were terrific, especially those of the marble quarry! Our guide, Angelina, could speak English very well and was very informative! She also kept the tour on track so people could catch the 6pm ferry back to Paros. I highly recommend this tour!

The best tour of our vacation in Greece

What a fantastic experience! We so enjoyed our tour with Alex. She is knowledgeable and so delightful. We enjoyed our stop at the pottery workshop, the olive oil tasting and Valindros. Alex provided historical context as well as local insight. It was our favorite tour during our stay in Greece!

Half day tour around the island of Naxos

This was a wonderful half day trip around some of Naxos' historical sites and towns. The driver was very professional and experienced around some narrow roads. The tour guide was on time, professional, and knowledgeable of the site. The morning tour was best for use. Started at 0815, met up, and departed for the trip. Started at 0830. By our first stop at 0900, the sun was out, and the heat was on. Recommendation stop at bus terminal office few days before you want to make your tour. The office is near the ferry port.

What a wonderful experience! The history, ruins, and culture highlighted on this tour was the perfect mix of fascinating and fun. Dimitris was a lovely guide - he was kind, kept us laughing, and shared some truly touching and poetic words about his deep love for Greece, her history, and her light. I was choking up by the end! For the price, you truly cannot beat this once-in-a-lifetime experience - this was my favorite part of my entire trip to Naxos!

Mediocre.

Tour was just okay. The best part was visiting one of the other small villages. Tour is expensive for what you get. Would recommend renting a car and touring the island yourself or skipping the tour altogether.

Awesome half day tour of Naxos sights!

We took the afternoon half day tour of Naxos with the tour guide Demetrius and we had an amazing time. The bus was modern and air conditioned. The tour was from 1:15-5:30pm. We had 6 or so stops and it was a diverse and great selection of sights of Naxos - temple ruins, pottery making, olive oil museum, church, little town, quarry and an old marble sculpture. We learned a lot from Demetrius, he has great knowledge and passion of Naxos and Greek history and he made sure the tour was on time and enjoyable! Highly recommend this tour as a way to see Naxos with a local and transportation included! We recommend having cash as many places along the way do not take credit card.

A great day!

Such a great experience! As a solo traveller who didn’t rent a vehicle, this gave me the opportunity to see parts of Naxos that would’ve been difficult or near impossible to do otherwise. Our guide was super personable, lots of information, history and jokes. The whole thing was great and was exactly what I needed.

Varied, fun and informative

Our guide was Thanos, a native of Naxos. He was very interesting and spoke excellent English. We saw the spectacular mountains and valleys inside Naxos stopping at 2 archaeological sites, 4th c church, the village of Halki, a working pottery and an olive press museum / complete with cat called erm, Oliver. A great afternoon out - recommended.

This tour was well worth it!

The tour was excellent and we are very happy we decided to take it. The bus was clean and comfortable. The tour guide was very pleasant and considerate of our slowed pace due to our advanced age. She was knowledgeable and made the tour worthwhile. Thanks to her, we booked the full day tour for a couple of days later. We were happy to have her again.

We had a great guide with really excellent English and knowledge of the island. Plenty of time at each of the stops to appreciate the site

Highly recommend

Spectacular tour. Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Most locations were not too far from each other and therefore wasn’t a tour that felt like most of the time is spent on the bus. Wish we could have had more time at the olive Museum but we were running behind schedule and other people were asking to leave since they had to catch a ferry.

Great half day!

Great tour and great guide, nice way to explore the island. Did half a day trip, saw a lot! Added an extra stop at a traditional greek ceramics shop since we were a small group, loved it!

Short trip, lots to see

There was a lot to fit in the time we had but the day trip started too early for us. Enjoyed the Olive press and Hailki village stop, wish we had more time there, both places felt rushed. The guide spoke great English, and was very approachable. Would recommend this tour for those that don't have much time to see Naxos.

Breathe in the beauty

Our tour was the highlight of our whole trip to Naxos—it was so delightful to leave the city and see the interior of the island and breathe in the beauty! Our guide was warm, engaging, and kind. One of our family members needed to walk slowly and yet we managed to do the whole thing without any problems. The Temple of Demeter was lovely. Definitely recommend this experience!

Efficient and cost effective way to see inner Naxos

The tour was very well organized and a very efficient way to do a significant number of things in inner Naxos in just half a day. They took us to 5 sites all of which were unique and interesting in their own way. My favorite was the olive press museum and the pottery workshop (which they added to the trip because our group was small-ish).

Great Tour

Great impromptu tour picked up day of from the port! Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and kept the tour engaging even between stops! Bonus - bus was comfortable and air conditioned! We did the half day tour and saw some more remote places of the island and historical sites. After this tour we really felt like we had seen more of the island and enjoyed learning more of the history! Would recommend the half day trip to anyone looking to explore the island outside the main area!

Perfect for a short visit to Naxos

We took the half day tour (afternoon), and it was just the right amount of time for what we wanted to see given our short stay in Naxos. We were glad to take the bus tour rather than rent a car and drive ourselves, as we would have not learned any of the history that we did from the tour. As the island is not very big, we did not spend a lot of time on the bus, and we had time to stop at a few of the places to walk around and take photos. Honestly, I don't think a full day tour is needed for the places on the itinerary.

Don't consider it "guided"!

We were so looking forward to this tour, but our tour guide was not the right person to deliver what needed. His knowledge was close to nothing. His communication skill was poor. He was nice person.

Professionalism and Fun!

Angeliki was so helpful, has a wealth of knowledge and really cares about her tour guests. I would definitely try to book a trip with her, ask when she is leading the next tour!

Great way to see a lot of the island without the hassle of driving

This was a surprisingly quality experience for a very reasonable price! I loved not having to think about where to go/rent a car, and just get shuttled all over the island and see a ton of places I wouldn't have found. The olive oil tasting was a highlight, as were the ancient ruins and the stop in a tiny town.

A great time For. A Great Price!

We loved this extremely reasonable tour. We had an excellent driver Vasilius and our guide whom we unfortunately cannot remember her name. Both were professional and knowledgeable and it was such a great way to learn more about Naxos. I would highly recommend this tour.

It's off season，not much to do. Only this tour is available， didn't have choice. Better than nothing. The full day tour would start 3 days later.

Great way to see some parts of Naxos

It was great to access areas of Naxos that otherwise I couldn't see as the bus timetable was so flexible. I recommend it if you don't have your own transport and want something hassle free. Also good value

Relaxing introduction to the history of Naxos

This was a short, easy-going cultural tour of Naxos. We saw three significant sites in the four hours and it felt very relaxed. We felt we had adequate time to explore the different sites. The guide was friendly and informative and she gave us a good overview of the history and culture of the island, without bombarding us with too much information. Communication with the company was also great - clear, timely, and they were very responsive when I asked a question.

Highly recommended if you're looking to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time on the island, with plenty of time left in the day to head to the beach!
