Great day in Munnar

The tour was fabulous. We enjoyed driving through the Munnar Hills, the tea plantations and waterfalls are beautiful, the lunch was great, and there was plenty of time to stop for a swim, to take photos etc. Suresh was a great driver/ guide. The whole day was a lot of fun, capped off by the elephants. I highly recommend it!

An amazing memorable experience

Amazing tour - even better guide!

Suresh was our guide and he was amazing. The star of the show. Very kind, knowledgeable and committed. He took us to lots of beautiful spots with lots of variety. He ensured we didn't miss anything. Lunch was great. Swam in a deserted lake with an incredible backdrop. Walked winding roads through the plantations. Visited caves and waterfalls. We were unlucky because there was a sudden downpour (for about 45 mins) so the elephants didn't come down to drink, as they'd already cooled off(?), but Suresh was prepared to stay all night! We left at 1am despite the tour being scheduled to end at 8-9pm, which meant he'd have got home at about 3.30am. He went above and beyond. He even sent us videos and videocalled us the next day to show us the elephants, which was very sweet.

Suresh made our day in Munnar special

Suresh took us on a wonderful day out from munnar to the elephant village. We walked through a tea plantation town and got to say hello to some workers coming back for their lunch break who were very smiley and friendly. We stopped off at some waterfalls, a tiger cave and had a dip in the most serene river- straight out of The Jungle Book. It had rained that day so the likelihood of seeing elephants became pretty narrow. Suresh stayed with us until the very late evening waiting patiently. He took wonderful photos which he sent to us and we had wonderful chats with him along the way. He was able to offer us his personal insight as he is from a neighbouring village, had many friends along the way and his mother works on the tea plantation. Suresh you made a day in Munnar one to cherish forever. Thank you so much! 🙏🏼

A must-do in Munnar

We had an amazing day with Ganesh. From the very start we were immersed in the life and culture of Munnar with many personalised touches along the way. Within the day we saw so much - including amazing waterfalls, tea estates, and Tiger Cave. Ganesh kept his finger on the pulse all day ensuring that we had the best chance to see elephants - and rushed us to the spot in time to see a family of 4. Ganesh was kind and considerate, and very flexible, we had a great time. I would recommend to anyone staying in Munnar.

Had a great time

Amazing tour. Didn’t see elephants because of the rain but it was still worth it. Went to a beautiful and serene swim spot just being by ourselves. Very special when it started raining. Our guide gave us enough time, we didn’t feel rushed at all.

Beautiful landscapes and day trip across Munnar

Suresh came to pick us up at 10:30 and drove us across beautiful landscapes: the tea hills, waterfalls, spice plantations etc. He also took us to his village and introduced us to his family, and presented his house. It was a lovely immersive and enriching experience. We got to swim in the river as well and to enjoy the beautiful sceneries. The tour is totally worth it to discover the surroundings of Munnar! However, I am not giving a 5 star review, because the title of the experience was slightly misleading. The elephant village is only a view point (as opposed to a safari where you can actually drive around to see elephants). I would suggest renaming the experience to lower the expectations of seeing elephants (we were not lucky enough to catch any). Thanks again to Suresh for a great day!

Munnar landscapes and culture

My family and I were unsure what to expect on this tour. My mom is older and not fond of narrow roads. My sister gets distracted after 5 sentences into a story. Yet, we enjoyed our experience learning about the life / culture of people in Munnar, tea estates and production, and land uses across Munnar’s beautiful landscape. Our tour guide Ganesh went above and beyond ensuring to go over bumps slowly for my mom and providing ridiculously delicious homemade tea during the tour. My family decided to go back to our hotel instead of waiting for the elephants to show. Even without the elephants, my family and I had a great time and recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see different landscapes of Munnar and get a glimpse of the culture that embodies this beautiful town. Also, for anyone unsure of the jeep that is used on the tour, my family preferred the jeep on Munnar’s narrow roads than the van that we took to arrive from the airport to our hotel. We felt safer since the Jeep is able to maneuver better than a sedan or bigger vehicle

Must do if you have only one day!

My mom, sister and I spent an adventurous day with Mr. Ganesh Raja (tour guide). I wasn’t sure what to expect but as a city girl, I loved every part of our tour. We were able to see many of the attractions of Munnar including the tea farms, treks and waterfalls, local fruits, homes, schools, etc. Mr. Raja was very knowledgeable about the local history and provided great information throughout the tour. On top of all of that, Ganesh brought his our own tea from home and hosted a lovely tea break before lunch. His tea was DELICIOUS!! He was very passionate, friendly and so welcoming of my family. I highly recommend this tour! Thank you Ganesh!

A perfect day!

First of all many thanks to our driver Mani. He's the perfect guide who looked after us the whole time and is great company. We appreciated all the insides and especially the secret swimming spot on the way to the elephants. The trip is really worth the money including the delicious lunch and of course watching the elephants at their watering hole.

Great experience

Great opportunity to see elephants in the wild. However , be prepared it might take some patience waiting at the water hole! Senthil was a great driver and guide. He was very helpful, kind and provided us with lots of interesting facts about the local environment. Overall , Munnar Info were very professional on both tours we booked. The activities were adjusted to fit our needs very well.

Amazing tour!

Great trip! Our guide Sir Ganesh took the time to explain everything to us, had brought delicious tea and biscuits, waited patiently with us so we could see 6 elephants, and made sure that we had the best day out. A must do if you go to Munnar!

Great tour

Our guide was Suresh and we had a great full-day tour! Beautiful landscapes, interesting trees, waterfalls, fruits, spices, … we were able to explore. Everthing was well organised, Suresh was a very good driver, photographer, speaking a good English. And the highlight was to see 6 wild Elephants, 2 of them babies! Awesome experience and fully recommended!

Wild Elephants and majestic wildlife.

The owners are first class and straight forward to deal with. We really liked the trip because there were no commission or unwanted visits where you get harassed to buy something. That is worth a lot! Suresh was our driver who lives in the locality. His knowledge of spices, bird life and other animals is very good. His driving is very careful and he is keen to make sure you have a trip that is right for you. He was also kind enough to take many pictures of my partner and I. We cut tea (not very well), identified many varieties of birds including 3 of the 4 Kingfishers varieties. Swam in the local river. Met a family of monkeys. Saw 23 elephants at sunset. Had an excellent lunch. Went to tiger cave. Some small walks by ourselves. Saw Munnar market. We left our hotel at 10.30am and returned by 19.00pm by our own choosing. We could have stayed longer. The day was epic and we highly recommend you do something similar.

Absolutely great !

Great day trip! Our highlights were the swimming (never seen such a beautiful place before in our life) - and of course the wild elephants! Our guide Suresh speaks excellent English and did a great job explaining us all kind of different stuff we asked him about plants and wildlife! And he was giving us as much time as we liked to have at the different spots, so we could really enjoy this day trip! Lunch was also good and the included hotel pickup and drop off was very comfortable! Next time for sure again Munnar Info!

Enjoyable day in Munnar

My husband and I spent an adventurous day with Mr. Senthil of Munnar Info. We were able to see many of the attractions of Munnar including the tea estates, various treks and waterfalls and of course, elephants bathing in the river. Mr. Senthil was very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and provided great information throughout the tour. If you are short on time like us (we had only one day to spend in Munnar), I highly recommend this very thorough tour.

Once in a lifetime experience

I wasn’t sure what I expected when I booked this tour but it exceeded all expectations. Mr.Ganesh was a an amazing tour guide and allowed us to cover a lot in one day, it was the perfect mix! Within the day we covered waterfalls, a small trek, tiger cave and even got to see elephants (it was an added bonus that most of these places had 0 tourists). I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Great tour with mix of tourist and hidden gems

We did two activities, Top Station sunrise hike and the wild elephant tour. We were with our guide Suresh both days. He took us to many more local and hidden spots that most tourists don’t get a chance to see. He also was passionate about animals and made a point to keep an eye out for them and stop the car whenever we saw an interesting one. Awesome!

Amazing elephant sighting and a great day out

We did the Anakullam wild elephant village tour in a jeep one day and a full day hiking the next day and had a great experience on both occasions. On the jeep tour, we drove through beautiful tea plantation fields near Munnar, visited waterfalls, the Tiger Cave, a river swimming spot and Anakullam village where we saw a hers of elephants bathing in the river. It was fantastic! The only thing we would have desired is to cool off in the waterfalls before lunch. We would recommend Munnarinfo as they are very professional and quick to reply.

AMAZING !

This was my favourite day out of ten in Kerala. An immensely professional business, from the organisation beforehand to the brilliant Suresh and his smart jeep. Suresh is a true gentleman and so so knowledgeable. The tea plantations and general views of Munnar took our breath away, and we were able to walk parts of it and stop wherever we liked for a closer look. We saw waterfalls, tiger caves, wild elephants, and swam in a beautiful part of the national park. Lunch was also brilliant. An incredibly special day made possible by Suresh and Munnar Info.

The best!

This has been our favourite day so far! We got to see the true beauty of Munnar - waterfalls, tea plantations, elephants and monkeys! Suresh was our tour guide/driver and he was brilliant! He couldn’t be more helpful and helped with recommendations for the rest of our trip. Thank you very much.

Beautiful scenery in plantation country plus an elephant!

Beautiful scenery and off the beaten track. Ganesh gave us a very comprehensive account of the life of a tea-worker, the history and how modern day trends are having an impact on this culture. We did see an elephant but the experience felt something of a 'spectacle'. Overall a very interesting trip. Would recommend.

10/10 tour for waterfalls and elephants.

We had the best day ever with our driver Suresh. He was so friendly and helpful. We saw beautiful scenery and waterfalls, had a really good lunch and saw elephants! Suresh said they see them 90% of the time on his tour and he wasn't wrong. Within 15 minutes of being in the elephant village they arrived. Suresh also took lots of photos of us and sent them to us free of charge. Such an amazing day. Thank you so much Suresh!

Wild elephants...

This was a fantastic day and Suria was a brilliant guide whose company and interaction we enjoyed very much. The beauty of the mountains, cooling off in the river, enjoying good food and seeing some amazing scenery ,wildlife, including a Malabar Giant squirrel, endless beautiful birds and wonderful birdsong, a huge eagle, topped off with the emergence of 7 elephants, including two babies, one tiny, was the cherry on the cake ( an 8th elephant joined the herd after half hour of watching them bathe and drink at the end of the day). One of our best days of a month travelling south India - highly recommend!

Amazing tea plantation and wildlife drive

A superb day and evening with Suresh (apologies for spelling!). So patient due to v late elephant visit ( had to leave for our accommodation and unfortunately missed them as had to leave after 10pm) and loads of wildlife to see on the day (monkeys, HUGE squirrel, so many beautiful birds). S was great at pointing out and talking about everything. Lovely lunch stop. Tea plantation drive and walk was amazing and so lovely to hear personal stories about it. Very careful and considerate driver. Jeep was well maintained and clean. V comfy for waiting for elephants too. Definitely recommended Suresh and the trip. Many thanks for brilliant experience

Great experience

Sooo, we got very lucky. We picked up a tuk tuk in Munnar - and the driver ended up being our personal tour guide for the next 3 days and always picked the very best options - it helped too that his English is brilliant. On the day we went to see the elephants, he picked us up at 8am and drove us to see some beautiful spots of scenery - waterfalls, hanging bridges, swimming spots - while also sharing his knowledge of the local area including history, his own personal stories and he also seemed to know every tree / so I guess we also had our own spice tour. We then took a jeep through the jungle, got to climb a tree that seemed to grow with an inbuilt ladder, and then to cap it off we saw the elephants come out around 7pm. On top of all this, he’s an excellent safe driver - and hardly every blows his horn. Which is extremely unusual for Kerala. The other days he took us on two fabulous treks to see the sunrise - which were off the tourist track. Can’t recommend him enough. Best Munnar excursion ever!

The best day ever! Our guide, Subash, from picking us up from our hotel to dropping us off 9 hours later was absolutely marvellous. He has a tremendous knowledge of the tea gardens and the Munnar landscape including what is grown and used and was incredibly friendly and considerate. He made us feel very relaxed and safe and we would encourage anyone looking for something to do in Munnar to do this trail and ask for him! We ended the day on a complete high by seeing a wild elephant!!

Good chance to see wild elephants

I booked this tour for the elephants. At booking time, the other items were side kicks for me. Those just happen to be on the way. We left Munnar in the afternoon and arrived at Anakulam around 17:30. The elephants did not show up until after 21:00. Nothing the tour guide/operator can do about wild animals. Ganesh was very patient. So we stayed as long as I wanted. The elephants were still at some distance, and it was night. Despite the illumination, don’t expect good photos. But it was still worth it for me. And the side kicks were actually interesting.

Wild Elephant Safari Review

Mervin was such a great guide! He explained to us all about the tea plantation history and the wild elephants. Would certainly recommend if trying to immerse yourself in the beauty and wonders of Kerala.

Excellent tour, definitely recommend

Our tour with Praveen was absolutely excellent and the highlight not just of our time in Munnar but also our time in India thus far. He went above and beyond throughout to ensure that we had a great day. The activities we got to take part in were extensive; Praveen showed us around a functional tea estate, including his own home village and his home. We were lucky to see people taking part in colourful Christmas Day celebrations throughout. We then got to see many waterfalls with entrance included, as well as visiting the tiger cave. The best part, however, was of course seeing the elephants - we saw a whole family, including a fifteen-day-old baby! As the spot where you wait was quite crowded and the people were fairly loud we worried they wouldn’t come, but they turned up after 7pm and it was fantastic to see them bathe and drink. Of course, as they’re wild it wasn’t guaranteed that they would come but this just made it all the more special. Thanks so much for everything!

A Thrilling Day

We enjoyed our day with Ganesh tremendously. We only saw one elephant, but the opportunity to visit the tea planation was very special. The beauty of the area is remarkable and we couldn't stop getting excited about the view around the next bend. Ganesh was very gracious and accomodating.

The Perfect Way to do Munnar

Suresh drove us around all day through Munnar. This feels like the best possible way to experience such a vast place. The highlight was him taking us to his village - in the middle of a scenic tea plantation - and then having his lovely wife give us a tour. It was a wonderful insight into people living a very different life to mine and I felt very grateful for the experience. Suresh was an informative and very funny tour guide. He was also willing to put in the hard yards to show us elephants and obviously really cares about the experience he cultivates for tourists. The only caveat is that yes, elephants are guaranteed and you will probably see them after an hour or two of waiting but it could be much much longer, sometimes to the middle of the night. Worth considering but even without elephants, this was an awesome experience and worth doing for the price.

I loved the nature and adventure.

I had a wonderful day and adventure with Suresh from Munnar Info as our driver. We got to travel through winding mountain roads and tea plantations, to meet his wife and see their family home. I loved exploring the dramatic and gentle nature in this amazing part of India and take a dip in a waterfall. Lunch was delicious! A tip for other traveller's is that you can also book this experience directly from the Munnar Info company, and they have discounts sometimes. Also, I travelled from Kochi for just the day and it takes 3 hours by taxi, 4 by local bus (my recommendation). I'd suggest staying the night in Munnar instead if this big commute, as it's a big day! The highlight for me was seeing a wild elephant coming down in the evening to bathe and drink in the river. It was magical and there was a few deer at the same time as well. Thank you Suresh and Team for a fun and memorable day.

An incredible day

We had an incredible day driving around Munnar and saw some of the most beautiful views we have ever seen! Even the rain didn’t take away from the experience (although perhaps be more prepared than we were and pack a rain coat or umbrella!). Our driver, Suresh, was amazing, we learnt so much about the area from him and particularly enjoyed hearing about the vast array of plants in the area. He took us to the market and tea shop in Munnar before taking us to his village, the view point for some amazing pictures and waterfalls. We finished the day off by waiting for the elephants and were rewarded with seeing one, a memory we will forever cherish. Another reviewer mentioned bringing along a book for the wait which was a great tip. This was the prettiest place we have seen on our trip around India and we would 100% recommend this tour. Thank you Suresh for making our day so special!

Our guide Ganesh made this day trip a wonderful experience. He was so knowledgeable and pointed out flowers and fruits along the way. Incredible guide for a great tour

We had wanted a day trip in Munnar, that specifically focused on tea plantations and elephant spotting. Ganesh made it possible for us! He was a local and so welcoming, sharing a lot of his personal experiences which made us feel at home and taught us a lot. He was also a very safe driver, especially when we experienced heavy rainfall. He made us feel very safe, and was so patient and a joy to be around! All in all, he made our whole trip!

A taste of real Munnar

We had the most incredible day out with Suresh! He was ready and waiting for us in the morning with a friendly smile, all ready to go. Suresh was super patient and adaptable, happy to stop if we wanted to check anything out. We really loved going to his village and having tea with with lovely wife Priya. Fresh tea in India tastes different to any tea I've ever tasted and is delicious! We really loved cruising through the tea plantations and visiting Tiger Cave. Can't pick a top moment, there were so many! I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to truly experience Munnar, it was a wonderful day!

Suresh- top guide!

Suresh was an excellent guide - so friendly and knowledgeable. We had a lovely day out with him and highly reconnect the tour- it’s a nice way to see lots of the local area and beauty spots in one day and the rains and his excellent driving made it a little bit of an adventure.

Best Munnar experience!

We wouldn’t recommend another way to visit Munnar! This was the best experience! We felt like we’ve seen all of Munnar and its treasures in a day. Suresh will take you off roads in his jeep in the most remote places, in the middle of the forest and tea plantations. Driving off roads means you will go places that are hard to get to so therefore, are non touristic. We even walked an hour in the tea plantations (walking is not mandatory but we would recommend it) towards his village where his lovely wife was waiting with tea and cake. Being welcomed there is something else. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to visit his village and have the most authentic experience. (Note: wear tall socks and long trousers as there could be leeches on the way) We also were lucky enough to arrive at the elephant village (a famous place where we can see wild elephants) in the evening and in the next 30minutes, the elephants came. That does not happen all the time so we were super happy that they decided to show up that day. Our driver and guide for the day, Suresh, was so lovely, funny and most of all, knowledgeable. He knows many things and will answer all your questions about Munnar. We loved spending the day with him and thank him again for such an amazing experience!

A perfect day in this beautiful area with Suresh

We had a great day touring with Suresh. He is a great driver and tour guide. He knows a lot about the area because he is a local. We saw lots of different things: the tea fields, waterfalls and of course the highlight of the trip the drinking and bathing elephants. Besides that, Suresh was also very kind to show us his home in one of the tea villages. His lovely wife gave us a tour around the premises. We would definitely recommend booking this tour. A perfect Day

It was just an awesome day. Suresh showed me a lot, we drove on crazy remote roads with his 4x4 car, saw different waterfalls, tee villages, a tribal village.... A lot of things I would have never seen, if I would have been going on my own. I personally didn't like the place where we got lunch, but that may just be personal preference. The food was very good though! The highlight was of course the big herd of elephants we saw in the end of the day. Suresh was very kind and a very good, confident driver even in tricky weather conditions (monsoon rain). I can definitely recommend this tour.
