Views were amazing and tour guide Raja was very knowledgable. Factory was interesting as well. We did not know that a taxi/auto rickshaw was needed to take you from the tea farm to the factory, and Raja sorted one out for us without an issue.

Very enjoyable and educational

My husband and I throughly enjoyed this 3 hour tour. Our tour guide Mari was very knowledgeable and we learnt so much more than just about the tea at Lockhart tea factory as Mari shared so much about the history and the ecosystem of the area from wildlife that lives there to other crops that grow there. We got to see the tea pickers working very hard to the whole factory process. And we got to try and buy some tea for ourselves! You can even have a professional photo amongst the tea if you’d like! There’s also roadside beverages and snacks.

Lockhart Tea Plantation

What an amazing morning we had walking through the tea plantation. For two hours we were immersed in facts and information about the tea plants, types of teas, and the fauna and flora we passed by. We had a stop and sampled some delicious tea and a Munnar snack before our drive to the tea factory. Mr Mari, our guide was exceptional. The tea factory tour was informative too. We met Mr Ravi, who guided us through the factory.

A great tea experience

A truly enjoyable tour through the tea fields and then the factory. Our guide Mari was full of information and helped us really understand the whole process from end to end. The booking experience with Munnar Info was easy and the team kept in constant contact. I would have no hesitation recommending them.

A wonderful tour of the tea plantation

Mari our guide gave us so much information about tea growing. We would never have learnt so much if we hadn’t booked the tour. Mari was entertaining and very knowledgeable. Not only did the tour include the tea plantation but also a tour of the factory and tea tasting with Mr Ravi. We had a fabulous day. Next time I will book a longer tea plantation walk to get further into the estate

The tour was amazing and our guide Mari was the best guide we have had in India! He is very knowledgeable, kind and explained to us all about tea plantations in a detail, without rushing and with a big smile on his face. We had plenty of time to walk around the tea plantation, interact with tea pluckers and had an excursion in the tea factory as well. Nice experience, learned a lot, scenic views!

Had a great experience with that tour! Guide Mari is super motivated, pleasant and explains a lot. Thanks to him, we learned a lot about tea and the plantations. Also a very scenic walk through beautiful tea plantations/nature. Tour through the factory could be a bit longer (different guide). Due to the noisy environment and a larger group of people we weren’t able to understand everything.

Best tea experience in Munnar

We had a lovely tour that gave a real insight into the the tea making process. Especially enjoyed the trip to the tea plantation. Mari was an excellent guide.

Loved the field tour with Mari, disappointed in the factory tour

The guided tour through the tea field with Mari was fantastic. He told us a lot about the tea, the lives of the people in Munnar, nature, Ayurvedic medicine and helped us chat with the workers at the tea plantation. He was very friendly and overall an amazing guide. If the tour had just been the tea fields our review would have been 5 stars, however, we felt that the tour of the factory was of much lower quality. Very little was explained, the hygiene wasn't great (people being allowed to pick up tea within the factory and toss it back onto the production line) and the factory guide (different guy) made some unflattering comments.

Best India Tour so far

We had 2 wonderful tours with the same guide. He was so far the best we had in india. He knew so mich about the flowers, tee and animals. The spice garden was also very good and informative. The route after was very beautiful and not as all touristic (As we did not go inside the echo point). The next day we went to the tea fields and factory. We walked through the fields and could even interact with the workers. In the factory we could learn more about the process even though it was sometimes loud and therefore hard to understand. Overall we really would recommend both of the tours!

A highlight of our trip

This was an amazing experience and well worth doing. The walk through the tea plantation was excellently guided by Marimuthu. His knowledge of tea, the plantation, other plants and the wildlife is extensive. However, more importantly he delivers the information in an interesting and fun way that keeps you engaged. We walked about 6km on good paths over not very challenging terrain all the time learning new facts. This finish of the tour was perfect when we spotted a group of foxes heading to the stream to drink. We would highly recommend this tour, one of the highlights of beautiful Kerala.

Had an amazing time at the Munnar Tea Trail at Lockhart Tea Garden. Special thanks to Marin who conducted the tour, not only did he answer questions patiently, he also had in his backpack doughnuts and tea in his pack during the tour! A very knowledgeable and enriching experience!

Worth the trip, even in the fog.

The weather was quite brutal. The day that I went to, but the adventure was well worth it. The guide/driver was amiable and professional, and kept me entertained and safe all at once. I think that this trip would be especially wonderful and good weather. And I highly recommend visiting tea plantations in Munnar if you are in the area.

Wonderful tea plantation walk with mesmerizing views!

We had a great experience during the tea plantation tour! The views were beautiful and it was a very relaxing experience. Munnar Info was great to book with! Clear and quick communication in scheduling the tour. On the day of the tour, our tour guide Mari was on time and very attentive to the kind of tour we wanted! We walked through the tea plantations, but also took us up a small hike up to the top of a mountain for some mesmerizing views of the region! All during the tour Mari, being a local from Munnar has a wealth of knowledge on the various plants and their healing properties! As well as his in-depth knowledge of the tea plants. We were refreshed with some tea and bananas from his home. At the end of the tour, as it was a Sunday and not too busy he also gave us a lift back to our hotel. We would highly recommend booking with this company as they will ensure you have a great time, tailored to your tempo and interests. Thank you so much Mari!

Raja gave us a fantastic tour which was filled with wonderful insights about the local tea and wildlife. It was a great way to see the tea bushes up close! I would definitely recommend.

What a great experience ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I booked the tour via Viator.com and was fortunate enough to be the only participant on that day. The guide, Mr. Muri, was super friendly, helpful and had a extensive knowledge of the flora and fauna in the region. After walking through the tea estate, we had a quick stop for a nice cup of tea and local biscuits before heading to a tradtional tea factory. It was impressive to see how many steps it takes to produce - in our case black tea. At the end, we could also try and buy a range of different teas (white, green and black). I would highly recommend this tour - when you come to the Munnar region! Thanks Mr. Mari for the great tour 🙏🏻

Stunning tea gardens

An excellent tour around the tea garden plantation. Learning about how tea is made and all the flora and florna that grows alongside the tea. Animals that roam in the tea gardens too. Our guide had to rush off so his friend did the tea factory tour which was very interesting. Tea tasting at the end was disappointing as she just walked off and left us to it.

Tea trail with Ramesh

Our guide Ramesh was very knowledgeable, polite and friendly when completing our tour. He was able to answer any questions we had and made the experience very enjoyable. I would recommend anyone to book this tour and book with Ramesh if you can!

Excellent tour! Highly recommend

I really really recommend this tour. It’s my second time doing it and it’s one of the best things I have done in munnar. It’s really interesting to go from walking around the tea plantations, seeing the plants, meeting workers, learning about the tea - to them going to the factory and seeing how the whole process goes from start to finish. We particularly loved the tea trail we did with our guide Ramesh. He never rushed us.. he took lots of photos for us. He told us all about the tea and the workers, as well as about all the nature around us. It’s my dad’s first time coming to India from Ireland and he just loved the experience. Lots of happy memories made on this tour. It’s also very good value for money :)

Great walk, highly recommend

We wanted to know more about tea growing and processing, and this tour came up. Our guide Mari was just excellent, very knowledgeable about the environment of tea plantation, the animals and the cultivation techniques. Mari is a great communicator and took good care of us, with detailed instructions. He also spoke to our driver to arrange the pickup. Highly recommend!

If you want to learn something about tea plantation, this is it

A nice and interesting walk with a guide through the tea plantation. Mari explained all kind of plants. Also good to take pictures. And it was a good preparation for the Lockhard factory tour. Which was definitely better than some 1 star reviews suggest. A lot of smells, close to the machines, and tea tasting was hygienic in my opinion. Yes the factory is pretty loud, so it was difficult to hear her. But as said, the upfront information was good.

Highly informative walk in a beautiful landscape

We enjoyed this walk through the tea plantation surrounded by stunning mountain ranges. We enjoyed it especially because it seemed like we were one of the only tourists to have access to that plantation. Our guide Mari was super knowledgeable not just about tea, but also about plants and Nature. He would patiently answer any question we threw at him. It was super interesting to learn about the entire process of how tea is grown, harvested, processed and lands up in your cup.

Everything you ever wanted to know about tea with gorgeous walk as well

Amazing views with an amazing guide. Mari was not only very knowledgeable about the tea industry and the plant it self, but was very enthusiastic and passionate. My fiance and I only know English but understood the guide very well. This was the perfect duration as well wrapping up in 3 hours. We can't recommend it enough!

A fabulous experience

We were supposed to meet our guide at the tea park but there was a mix up and no one turned up. We were able to chat to the lady at the tea park (with the great help of our taxi driver) and sort the mix up out. Our taxi drove us to the factory and we started our tour there instead. The factory is amazingly interesting, you get close up to the action (no health and safety) all aspects of the process are explained. You get a tea tasting at the end and the opportunity to buy the tea. After the factory tour our guide (Mari) joined us to walk us through the plantation. A very knowledgeable and likeable bloke who was able to explain in more detail about the tea making process and show us the plants. He was able to tell us lots about the area and it’s flora and fauna. Great experience and well worth the time and effort

Helpful and knowledgeable guides

We had a great visit to the tea factory and plantation. Our guide around the plantation, Rajamani, was very helpful and insightful. We had turned up at the wrong place (we arrived at the factory, not the tea park entrance which is on the road side) and he walked the 1km distance to meet us from the factory. The factory visit was entertaining. Ashok was very knowledgeable and gave a great overview of the process.

Nice time with Rajamani

This was a lovely walk through a tea plantation with a knowledgeable local guide, Rajamani. We learned about the process of tea leaf picking and a lot more. He also took us to a waterfall and took very nice photos and videos for us. Afterwards we walked to the Lockhart factory and got a tour of the process of making tea. There is a tea tasting at the end but other than that they do not typically serve tea - only packets are sold. The tour of the factory is at set times so when we arrived there we had to wait a half hour before the tour started, which was fine by us. Overall a very nice tour, especially the portion with Rajamani of Munnar Info. Booking was easily done the morning of the tour (for the afternoon slot) over WhatsApp. Thank you!

Amazing day tour!

Rajamani was our tour guide for the tea plantation, and he was so lovely! He enthusiastically answered all our questions, and you could feel how passionate he was about his job. He knew the best spots to take pictures, and how to get the perfect panoramic picture. There was no rushing of the tour, and he was excited to show us all the varieties of herbs and fruits along the way. Would highly recommend asking for him!

Amazing! Trip of a Lifetime.

We had an amazing time on this tour. Our driver was Ganesh, and he was so knowledgeable and really was able to show us the best parts of the mountains of Menard. We drove to a private road and were able to see three wild elephants. We went to botanical gardens and the views of the lake. He even took us to a secret spot, where we could hear an echo from the mountains. If you are not sure about taking this to work, make your decision now, because it was absolutely epic!

Great day with great tour

Good tour guide (Rajamani), was very helpful and funny. It was slightly rainy when we went but we bought some cheap ponchos and were still able to have a good time.

First nice then scam

The first part was really nice when we walked through the tea plantations. The guide was so nice and the view was overwhelming. But after we visited the factory and the guide there wasn unsympathetic. I couldn't understand any word because of the loud noises and the bad english skills and it was a rush through the factory. We had a few seconds in each room and then went to the next. In the end I was really looking forward to the tea tasting, but this was also disappointing. We were all given a spoon and then told to each take a sip of tea from the cups. I can't understand why a factory is too stingy to provide a few pots of tea and give everyone a cup. After that, one was almost urged to buy the tea there. We asked a local and he said the tea is 10 times more expensive then usual. I am glad I didn't buy anything.

Great time hiking in Munnar

My brother and I did this tour and had a great time. Our guide, Rajamani, was especially great. He is very knowledgeable about the local plants and was able to point out several of them along the trail. I would recommend this experience to anyone visiting Munnar

Lovely tour of the tea plantations

We had an excellent experience. . Raja our guide was knowledgeable and explained our kids patiently. The tour was beautiful. Only downside was that the tea factory was closed due to a local strike, but it wasn't anyone's fault. Overall a very nice experience
