Absolutely amazing hike

This was the most amazing hike! Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day! It was just us (the two of us) and our guide, Raja, who was so lovely. He explained so much about the history of tea and how it is made, as well as all the beautiful local plants growing and how they use them in the local area. The views were absolutely unbelievable and it was incredible walking through the tea plantations. He also brought us delicious homemade snacks, tea and lunch made by his wife which was so kind. 10/10 - would definitely recommend!

Wonderful guided hike in Munnar

The views were amazing and felt well deserved after some good hiking! Raja has amazing knowledge about all the different fruits and plants in the forest - it was a real treat to learn from him! The homemade lunch and never ending supply of tea, fruit and snacks helped power us through :)

Amazing experience with Raja

The day was awesome. My guide was named Raja and he took very good care of me. Not only was the trek very informative but we also sat and ate at breathtaking spots. Raja has lots of knowledge and explained the whole tea cultivating, harvesting and process till we consume it. We also knew lots about other plants and history of the place and as we hiked he explained and answered every question I had. He also had drinks like the tea we so much talked about, snacks and very tasty home cooked food. The hike itself was also beautiful since we passed lots of nice places. 100% recommended!

Beautiful day in the nature

We enjoyed a full day trekking trip via tea plantage and kardamom plantage and enjoyed the spectacular view from the top of the mountain. Ramesch showes us different animals and plants along the way and picked us some fruits. It was a beautiful day in the nature away from the hustle and bustle. Thank you Ramesch!

I would like to appreciate Mr Raja , the king of mountains. He's an amazing guide and very caring. He made sure that I see all the gems of Munnar in the full day hiking tour . He shared his snacks , lunch and water bottle for me . That is very courteous and kind of him . He's an adventurer and knows the best routes of the hiking. He made my trip and hiking experience the best , the unforgettable. He's not just a guide , he's a true friend. You won't feel like you are meeting him for the first time . The full day hiking tour is the best a person can experience in munnar, full of mind blowing adventure.

A great day out

This full day hike was the perfect way to see Munnar. The hiking is a good level - challenging enough to feel good but not too difficult. Our wonderful guide (King Raja) was so knowledgable, we learnt all about the tea growing and making process, but also about all sorts of other plants and animals that we saw along the way. He ensured we had adequate rest breaks and had a backpack full of water and snacks for us! His wife made us a delicious lunch which his brother-in-law dropped off for us half way up the mountain! The views are phenomenal and it's a really lovely day out.

Fantastic full day hiking in the hills around Munnar

Spent a full day hiking in the hills around Munnar. It was a fantastic experience with a thoroughly knowledgeable guide who took us through tea and cardamon plantations, amongst other things. Home cooked food from the guide’s wife was excellent as well. Would fully recommend.

Tea-riffic stuff with King Raja

One of the highlights of our trip to Kelera, hands down. This is a gorgeously green hike, and ours was led by the warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable King Raja. Guiding us up and through the lucious tea fields, no stone was left unturned as he taught us about everything from the healing qualities of local plants to how bison itch their mozzie bites to the meticulous craft of tea production. As a local from the village the trek starts in, you could really feel his passion for his community, with a true respect for the nature that surrounds them. He even carried up a flask of 'royal tea' and homemade donuts for us to dig into at the summit, which were both welcome and delicious. Additionally, he snapped some pics and even took a little video of us, which he sent on afterwards. As a trek, it isn't too difficult, with plenty of flat sections to catch your breath. And the views from the top were well worth the climb. Take sun protection and plenty of water and you'll be fine. Couldn't have been more thrilled with our day. Mannar is a beautiful spot not to be missed. Thank you King Raja - keep doing what you do!

An all-round great day out

King Raja was great! He took everything at a relaxed pace and taught us about all the plant life along the way. The lunch was delicious - large quantities of Indian food prepared by Raja’s wife and enjoyed on a rock.

Very nice tekking

Very nice hiking! Raja was super friendly and helpful 😍 We got up to the hill and we has amazing views of Munnar. Also he got food and drinks, so the whole experience was very nice ☺️

Spectacular views and a great guide

The walk was fab, with spectacular views. And our guide King Raja was excellent - pointing out different plants and explaining Ayurvedic properties. He also had an endless supply of great snacks and fruit. Highly recommend!

Tea plantations, mountains and more!

Thank you King Raja for your beautiful Munnar tea plantations and mountains, with your knowledge and hospitality. We had one full day and two half day hikes with Raja. His knowledge about the fauna and especially the medicinal benefits of the plants is exceptional along with his understanding of the tea industry and management of the plantations and its history. An added bonus and personal touch was the homemade refreshments and lunch provided by Gowri, his wife, on our full day lunch was conveniently delivered at a convenient point and freshly cooked and the Mango juice was truly delicious. The walking was exceptionally stunning and Raja gave us the best routes with jaw dropping views. We couldn’t have asked for more and can recommend him 100% Thank you Raja.

Great Munnar trek guide “King Raja”

Our guide “King Raja” took us on one full day and two half-day treks, through the stunningly beautiful tea-plantations, to the tops of hills and to the valley bottom via well chosen paths with shade and cooling breeze. He was knowledgeable about the history, tea harvesting and processing and all the many spices and herbs growing along the way. He provided water, snacks and lunch and looked after us delightfully. I would warmly recommend our guide and the walks around Munnar.

Amazing tour in Munnar

I had a wonderful tour with the guide Raja. He explained a lot not only about the tea plantations and local spices, but also about so many plants along our way. I also liked the track we were taking and the amazing view. He took really good care of us with water, snacks, tea and good lunch. I really enjoyed!!

Great way to view hills around Munnar

Excellent hike through beautiful tea plantations and along ridge with great views. Our guide Vinu was very good: knowledgeable about the tea plantations and the local wildlife and fauna. Easy to book on Viator (but price is a fair bit more than a guide organized by your hotel)

Walking with Ramesh

We went on an absolutely stunning walk, led by our fantastic Local guide Ramesh. Ramesh has lived in the area all his life and his knowledge of the tea plantations, the birds and the hills kept us intrigued throughout. Munnar provided the perfect setting and Ramesh was the perfect guide. I look forward to going back!

Beautiful hike through varied terrain

We did the “full day hike through tea plantation” tour and it was an amazing experience. The scenery was breathtaking and varied - we would have been a little bored if it was the same terrain throughout, but we walked through tea plantations, forest, and mountain trails with open vistas. Ramesh, our guide, was key to making our experience a wonderful one. He was knowledgeable, fun to hang out with and took care of us when some of us were tired and needed help. We hiked / walked a total of about 10 miles with a 2,000 feet elevation gain. We definitely recommend the tour and Ramesh as the guide.

A day of hiking

We went for a full day hike with local guide Rajamani. The day started hiking through a valley of beautiful tea estates, with Rajamani giving us insight into local medicinal plants a d the tea making process. Later we headed through forests up to a ridge above the valley, where we were rewarded with fantastic views of the local area. We descended along the ridge, stopped for lunch and then, following some hints from people we met along the way, we were able to find a small herd of wild elephants. The views on this tour were unsurpassed, Munnar is certainly one of the most beautiful places in the world. With the local guide, we were able to enter areas off limits to the public and Rajamani is extremely knowledgeable about the area and answered every question we had. He's also a great photographer, and was able to recommend many local services, allowing us to end the day with a massage Highly recommended!

Wonderful trek in tea plantation

Rajamani was a great guide!

Rajamani was an amazing tour guide who showed us all of the amazing views and sights. We even saw a wild elephant. I would definitely recommend a full day hiking trip to anyone wishing to see the mountains around Munnar. 10/10.

Great hiking tour with an experienced guide

Very good hiking trip. We covered a lot of ground in one day - about 15 kms walk and a climb of nearly 500 metres. Our guide Raj was clearly very experienced and set a brisk pace right at the start which meant we got to the peak quite quickly while we were still fresh. The return was by a different route with a more gradual slope which was smart. Raj also spotted an elephant in the wild in the tea fields and got us up close which was thrilling. Really nice trip.

Amazing Hike

Lovely walk, great tour guide and he kept giving us snacks and snippets of information. Also gave us a lovely lunch when we got to the top. Really memorable and felt safe all the time. Thoroughly recommended:)

Tea trekking

Overall a very good experience! Working out the details of my pick-up from Munnar was a little confusing at first but they were very attentive on Whatsapp to organize my transportation. I did the full day trekking experience that was primarily through the tea gardens. My tour guide, Raja, was very nice and explained the tea manufacturing process to me. The views were also incredible even though we unfortunately didn’t see an elephants. Since it was just me, we just picked up some lunch in town to eat during the trek. Would definitely recommend if you have never been to Munnar before! I was definitely tired by the end though so be prepared for around 9 miles of walking and bring shoes you don’t mind getting muddy.

Great day in the nature

We had a great experience on the full day hike. Beautiful views, many plant species, and Vijay was a great guide and nature friend. Really recommend this trip for everyone that enjoys nature and an escape from city life.

Munnar

Munnar is an excellent lush green town in the Western Ghats mountain range. We travelled in the rolling hills dotted with tea plantations. Must visit place in Kerala.

Amazing views and hike!

The full day tour with Sanish was really great! He is super knowledgeable about the area and the flora and fauna that we saw. He was very patient and happy to go at our pace. We stopped for a delicous lunch of idlis and bananas and he even brought spare water bottles - which was amazing as we ran out early on! Would highly recommend!

Best hike I ever did!

If you're still thinking about whether you should do this trip, I would definitely recommend it! Our guide today was Sanish. He made us feel really comfortable. He gave us the time to make pictures and even helped in making some great pictures and movies from us as well! The trip itself was quite challenging at some points, but all in a positive sense. After we first hiked through the tea plantations, we continued through the woods and mountain parts. Nevertheless Sanish made sure we were fine and took great care of us! He showed us the greatest places with the most stunning views! He arranged snacks and a lunch on the top of the mountains, which is an experience you'd never forget!

Our experience with the munnarinfo team has been excellent: well organised, flexible and knowledgeable. 1. Lockhart tea plantation walk, factory tour and tasting Munnarinfo helped us arrange tickets ahead of time and transfers, so that there was no fuss and only a short wait when we arrived. The activity itself was conducted by Lockhart staff - Elizabeth was our guide for a beautiful ramble through tea plantations. The factory tour was crowded but really fascinating. Well worth the trip. 2. Full day hike over Letchmi Hill to Munnar town We are keen hikers and this was a really satisfying day out. First a steel climb through cardamon forest, then walking through ridge line grassland for spectacular views across the valley. Lunch was at nature zone guesthouse, then onward through tea gardens and down to the town. Our guide was Vijay. He was excellent. Accommodating to the pace of our group of five hikers, prepared with snacks when needed. He was also a wealth of knowledge on local history, flora and fauna. 3. Overnight stay, sunrise and hiking to Meesapulimala peak This was a highlight. Our guide/driver was Suresh - he is a wealth of knowledge and experience, knew the trails like the back of his hand and adapted the plan according to our pace and preferences. Thanks so much Suresh! Highly recommended.

Wonderful views and lovely guide

We had a great time on this hike - it was a comfortable pace and we had plenty of opportunities to stop and ask questions about the wildlife. Our guide (Vijay) was absolutely lovely, very welcoming and well informed. Would definitely recommend for people of all fitness levels. Thanks for such a lovely day. Also great views.

Excellent full day hiking

Wonderful full day hiking in Munnar. The trek was definitely more difficult that we had expected but it was excellent with exceptional views. The guide was very informative and the pace was good!

Awesome views, worth the effort of the hike. We are strong hikers from Canada and on the hot day this hike was perfect; we were tired by the end. Our guide Sanish was super helpful and kind. You should request him if you are interested!

Tea plantation trekking, astonishing

Sanish and Mahir (I hope I got the two names right) were super friendly and super funny guides who lead us on a beautiful journey through tea plantations in Munnar. The trekking lasted 6 hours before we got soaked in rain, but that made the scenery even more surreal! They also gave us mindful insights on tea preparation, and Indian culture in general, embracing its richness and diversity. Sympathetic and beautiful persons, breathtaking views: would definitely recommend!

Amazing day in tea plantations

We did a full day trek through the tea plantations. The guide was excellent, also very good food for breakfast and lunch and the landscapes were breathtaking.

Mountain hiking through tea plantation (half day)

I absolutely loved this hike. The scenery was so beautiful despite all the mist. Sanesh was a great guide and very knowledgeable, we learnt a lot about tea plantations and the nature around us. I would really recommend this tour. It was very easy to organise and very reasonably priced.

We had a very enjoyable hike through the Munnar tea plantations and the hills and forests around. Everything was well-organized and our guide Saneesh was very knowledgeable and a fun guy. He also kept the hike at a comfortable pace.

Had a great walk, very beautiful

Great walk! Raja King (our guide) gave us delicious tea and fed us all sorts of goodies that his wife prepared and fruits) told us a lot about tea and spices, and took us through the plantations and jungle. We have about a million photos, the views are incredible ❤️

A day of beautiful walking in Munnar

It was in great shape. The guide had a lot to say, the walk was beautiful, the lunch was delicious. They take great care of you with plenty of water and snacks. (It is quite a hike on a not always obvious trail, so make sure you have good shoes and are physically strong enough.)

A superb day of discovery
