Very worthwhile few hours with KP, our excellent guide who was really insightful and knowledgeable. We managed to avoid other tourists and learned a lot. We tasted delicious street foods and met some wonderful local characters.

See Old India in the Heart of Mumbai

This is a must do tour while in Mumbai. It gives you a chance to see what old India life is like. The villagers were extremely friendly. We saw a parade of women in beautiful cloths. We saw fishermen emptying nets of fish and repairing them. We saw the markets, homes and religous shrines. The views of Mumbai from Worli are breathtaking.

We did the Worli Village Tour with Aman Wallia and so glad we did. It’s not your typical sightseeing experience. You get to dive deeper into the rich history of Mumbai. Of how it started, of its original people, of its origins, and its heartbeat. Sure it’s great to see the art deco of South Mumbai, and it’s awesome to see the Gateway of India, but this is special. The colours of India never cease to amaze me. The Worli village is no exception. It is located on a small peninsula almost under the bridge connecting the Bandra i(airport area) to the other sections of Mumbai and is a village which has been there for many centuries. Based around the fishing life with the oldest temple site more than 6 centuries, generations of families have gone out in small boats to catch fish. Meanwhile the other aspects of life such as the home, food preparation, children playing soccer and cricket can be seen. A Portuguese fort was built there which became taken over by the British. It is an easy climb and gives the opportunity for photos of contrasting views of ‘old traditional’ and modern Mumbai in the one scene. Some streets are narrow (but these could be avoided if one doesn’t like narrow streets) and my guide Aman skilfully navigated a path which meant I was able to see temples, churches, a mosque and the outside of colourful houses (painted brightly in all colours) as we reached the fort and then into the jetty area to se the boats. I learned about the fishing techniques and saw fishermen repairing their boats and nets. The people were welcoming and we both smiled and said ‘hello.” I felt safe. The main street had a variety of small shops and enabled one to see the people buying their food, vegetables and other daily needs.

Super interesting tour in this colourful fishing village which is so different from the mega city just nearby. The guide KP was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history and the way of life.

Had heard about the Worli fishing village finally got to see it in the company an experienced guide Aditya Pai of Nofootprints. Aditya’s knowledge about the place is unbelievable especially how he know his way around the labyrinth of lanes. Story about the taking God was really great. The scene from Worli fort was stupendous and especially the singing act put up by Mr Chintamani Shivdekar the YouTube Sensation was the icing on the cake. Hurrah to Nofootprints 👍

Worli Koliwada Village Tour.

My first experience with NFP and what a great way to start! We had a lovely tour of Koliwada village in the heart of Mumbai at worli. Pooja was absolutely brilliant and very soon it felt like just hanging out with an old friend. She took us through a maze of the village and explained all the historical significances, ending the tour at the fabulous view of the sea and the sea link. Cannot recommend this enough!

Fascinating visit with the irrepressible Pooja!

Away from the wonderful craziness of Mumbai, this wander through the streets of this 800 year old fishing village community is fascinating. Less known than many tourist sites in Mumbai, I’d highly recommend it. And No Footprints is an excellent ethical tour company with whom we will be doing other tours also. Our guide was the absolutely irrepressible Pooja - interesting, energetic, and utterly delightful. Thank you.

Wonderful experience

Residents are very friendly and have a strong sense of community. Children and elders are adorable to watch. You can observe different religions coexisting peacefuly. Our driver, Sameer was excellent. And our guide, Adi, was the best! Very friendly and knowledgeable. His patience, commitment and care with us made our trip more special.

An experience not to be missed.

This was added to our Mumbai itinerary a few week before we left the UK for our Nepal/India trip. But what a superb experience We were met at our hotel by Krapesh (KP) and Aman at 9.30 and delivered back at around 1pm. The village is 800 years old and inhabited by the Koli people.The women are in charge. KP and Aman were excellent telling us about the culture and history of the village. The inhabitants were friendly and happy in their self contained community where every service is available. Do not miss this No Footprint tour. KP and Aman were just great.

A new perspective of Bombay

The excitement for this walk had kicked in a day before and now I can say that it was completely justified and worth it. Our tour guide, Aditya, made sure that no piece of history was left and gave us various other references which were linked to the Worli village. Due to this, after saying goodbye to everyone, I wasn’t only left with wonderful memories, but I had also acquired much more knowledge about my own city along with some fun facts too. The Worli Village tour was the perfect way to start a Sunday as I was able to see Bombay with an entire new perspective. The Worli Village is a beautiful place to visit to familiarise yourself with the city’s history and the best way to do this is with No Footprints. I can’t wait to go on many more adventures with them in the future!

A jewel of Bombay

An absolutely unique experience. I couldn’t recommend it enough. The village is full of colours, temples, superstition, folk tales and unique traditions. Really something you do not get to see anywhere else in the world. Adi, our cheerful guide greeted literally everyone we met on the streets, which resulted in people greeting us back, smiling and happily posing for photos. Being raised in South Bombay, he had a LOT of information to share.

Super Informative, Tons of fun & Trippy

I found out a ton of things about Worli Koliwada that I for sure wouldn't have discovered otherwise. The goddess and her unique pellet-fortune telling, the mosque and the annual possession were some of the ones that stuck! The guys know their stuff and it's a fun way to go deep into a spot you have for the most part overlooked if you live in Bombay. A hard recommend!

Great tour at Worli Village

We did the Worli Village Walk yesterday which was a lot of fun. It's refreshing to see that the Kolis, the original people of Mumbai, have preserved their traditions and heritage over time. We saw a Goddess who answers questions, bonhomie between various religions, the Worli Fort, conversations about sustainable fishing, all of which made the tour an enriching experience. Adi was a friendly and engaging guide with lots of interesting information and trivia. We would definitely book another tour with No Footprints. Kudos!

Worli Village and Fort - Slice of Coastal living history in Mumbai

Whenever i used to zip through the Bandra Worli Sealink, i used to look left and observe and be curious about the inhabitants of the settlement left that jutted in the middle of the sea. Finally through NFPExplore, Harsh's company my daughter and i signed up for an early morning 7 30 am walk through the Worli Village. The village traditional Koli inhabitants are among the original inhabitants of Mumbai and we began the walk at the temple. The next stop was a mosque which which a koli family has care for six generations.. The narrow bylanes were clean, well maintained even thought the homes were cheek a jowl. Harsh kept sharing nuggets, trivia, engaging stories and myths..Learnt about Artisanal tradition of fishing, and before the Worli fort we stopped at the Koli cemetry. The Worli fort has seen the Portuguese, Marathas and the British plant their presence and flag. Harsh pitched in with a surprise act of a local Koli village rap star singing a rap in Koli lyrics. Sharing the customs of community marriage and the village coming together for social ocassions. On a more sombre note shared the impact of the bridge on the livelihood of the fisherfolk and demise of deep sea fishing close to the village. Absolute insightful and layered is Harsh's and NFPexplore speciality. Must

Meeting the first people of Mumbai

Beautiful and quaint Worli village made super interesting by No Footprints. Its a side to Mumbai one doesnt see usually. Loved the fact that they informed about sustainable fishing being need of the hour and how unplanned development in the city can affect life of indigenous people. Highly recommend!

This tour by Adi, Rahul and Harsh (No Footprints ) was amazing. I learnt so much about the community of which I am a part, and a community that is crucial to my city's livelihood. Adi was an energetic tour guide and clearly knew the place and locals well. The whole experience was very inclusive, welcoming and warm, and the best part is that they have clearly done their research. All statements came from facts backed either by dates and books, or by the locals themselves. Different beliefs and practices are respected. I had a blast. Looking forward to more.

An absolute experience of culture immersion in this community

I have lived in the area during my childhood but I never knew so much about the area that I live in after doing one of their tours. After many years of living outside the country to get back and know so much about the place that i spent my childhood in feels like a breath of fresh air. Harsh was our guide and we got some deep in depth walk through on so many aspects of life in the Worli Village - culture, history, traditions, how the many fabrics of religion are intertwined in this small community and finally - food! We also got to see a live demo of how prawn curry is made which is fabulous

Wow. What an amazing experience off the tourist radar

Adi took us around Worli. He explained the history and the nuances of the society that live there, the challenges that they are facing and how they support one another. Adi has a great sense of humour and adventure and wonderful empathy with people. We visited a temple and were gifted bananas by the priest. We spoke to local people at the fish market including a group picture with the Koli ladies that run the show. We visited the fort which has been turned into a gym that helps youngsters by giving them a training regime. We spoke to the son of the guy that started the gym. Super interesting. The site is used as a location for Bollywood films. Thanks No Footprint for our second great tour. Shout out to KP for our first tour. Feedback given separately. 5*s all round.

Lots of Fun, Great Guide!

We spent a really great morning walking around in the Worli Fishing Village with our fantastic guide Pooja. It takes you back in time and is so interesting to see! We really enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot. Pooja had the best personality and was so much fun, our young son just loved her! Thank You for a really great tour!

Interesting of Worli Village

We booked this at the last minute as boats to Elephanta were cancelled due to the weather. Picked up from out accommodation by guide, Puja, and driven to Worli village. Great walking tour through the Worli fishing village, including market and fort. The guide, Puja, was very engaging and enthusiastic. The tour did seem expensive, but we all enjoyed the tour.

All-around Enjoyable Tour

Our guide picked us up at the hotel, had a small gifts for the kids and made every effort to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. We had two guides (Adi & Sunni) and I found that both were personable and were able to answer all of my questions. Thank you for a great experience!

Mumbai 2-Day Tour Review

We had a fantastic tour of the Worli fishing village with Adi as a tour guide. He also took us to a Bollywood dance lesson which was very fun for all of us. The second day we saw Dharavi, the spice markets, and a history museum. Adi is an amazing tour guide who is very knowledgeable and super funny. I would highly recommend Adi to show you around Mumbai for a very engaging and entertaining tour!

The real deal!

We returned to Mumbai for our last day of an amazing 3 week trip. We were treated to the best guide, Pooja, for our morning walk through the old fishing village. What a great experience! The best way to get an opportunity for an up close experience and see the gentle and warm people in Mumbai. Thanks Pooja for making our last day so memorable...not to mention the phenomenal meal we had at Bombay Canteen! Do no miss!

Fishing village walk with KP😀

Such an interesting community to visit on an early morning before the heat comes. We started walking through the streets and saw homes narrow streets with families out in the market selling fish and their vegetables. Women were the sellers for the fish and they all were very busy cutting cleaning and selling the fish. The place was busy and the fish did not stand around long the stalls were busy cutting and selling and wrapping the fish to the customers. Shortly After we ran into a band of drum trumpet and clarinet players playing their music along the streets for several communions and church celebrations. One family saw us coming down their street and noticed I was interested in what the inside of the house looked like and they invited all of us in to help celebrate their daughters communion and we all had cake and photos together. Further down walked to the fort and enjoyed the view of the boats and bridge new and old area. Headed back after a full morning of interesting sellers for fish , church goers who came to ask their golfadevi their goddess what was on their mind.
