Varsha - a super guide!

The best experience during these two days was the visit to Dharavi slums with Varsha. She is a great guide and a very kind, charismatic , always smiling person. She did her best to show us different dimensions of slums’ functioning and life of people there. She was also very patient responding to all our questions and requests. Also a tour in Mumbai on the first day with a very good guide and driver was excellent. We were less happy about the guides in Elephanta and Golden Temple, but the places themselves were worth visiting. There were also some misunderstandings regarding the schedule on the second day - you can’t assume that WhatsApp is the universal way of communication … we don’t use WhatsApp and had to make numerous telephone calls to find out what our programem would be… unnecessary waste of time, money and nerves. But all in all this trip was very interesting

Poorly organization, poor value.

On this 2-day tour we had two different guides, both of whom were pleasant and knowledgeable. However, the scheduling of the tour was very poorly organized, which resulted in our feeling misled and cheated. The tour started terribly, when we waited at the port more than a half hour while searching for our private guide. We were initially encouraged to get into a long queue waiting to board a large bus, but after we resisted we were finally ushered into a car with a driver who could only tell us that he needed to drive us somewhere else to meet our guide. After over an hour in the car in difficult traffic to meet the guide at the Dhobi Ghat for a one minute photo, we went to the Gandhi House, then were driven all the way back to where we started near the cruise ship so we could catch the boat to the Elephanta caves. By the time we returned from the caves, we then had a very rushed city tour, when stops were missed because it was so late. For example, instead of spending 20 minutes at the Taj Mahal hotel, as the website states, our guide just pointed it out in the distance. We also didn’t have time to go to the Hanging Gardens or the Dock. We could have saved so much time on this day by going immediately to the Elephanta caves and/or other areas near the cruise ship rather than embarking on such a poorly planned itinerary. At this point we hoped that our second day would compensate for some of the missed opportunities, but on this second day, after a tour of the Dharavi slums and a meal at a local home, we were quickly ushered back to our hotel at the airport for our departure from India the next day. We paid over $400 for what we had hoped would be a highlight of our visit to India. It is unlikely we will ever have the opportunity to return to India, so this “Magical Mumbai” tour ended up being our “Disappointing Mumbai.”

I have had city tour plus elephant caves with Shruti as the guide and she has been amazing and very knowledgeable and also informative. I would highly recommend taking this tour with her.

We had a fabulous two day tour with Sahill and Magical Mumbai Tours - everything about it was incredible and it is impossible to decide on a favourite (the food is fab and the markets mesmerising, the buildings beautiful and the history astonishing). Sahil is a wonderful host and I cannot recommend this tour enough.

Great tour, will recommend it to my friends and anyone coming to Bombay

I really liked the market tour I took with Magical Mumbay becuase I had my guide Sahil and driver Naseer deivin gme across the city to buy nice jelwelry, indian silk, pashminas, sandals… we also went to see several local markets that I really enjoy buying tea, spices… will really recommend this company of tours. I did the sightseeing, slum and market tours. I am just missing the eleohanta that for sure I will to next time I come for business. Thank you to my guide Sahil and the driver Naseer for you profesionality and service these days.

So worthwhile!

Our guide the first day was very knowledgeable and spoke good English. We were able to see and do so many things in a short time. We especially enjoyed the laundry and slums. We were taken to a couple shops but weren't highly pressured to buy. Our guide got us back safely which is saying a lot considering the crazy traffic!!

Two Unforgettable Days in Mumbia

This tour was excellent. Samir (Sam) was outstanding, even though he was not feeling well the second day of the tour. He made sure we saw everything that interested us and we even got to play Cricket - what great fun. This tour is worth your time and your money. We had nine on day one and seven on day two. Minimal gallery visits, but still a nuisance.

Having booked a two day excursion we found that our flight times did not accommodate the second day so our hosts kindly structured three tours into one long day which meant we didn’t miss anything. Amazing tour of Mumbai!

Great overview of Mumbai... covering the highlights in a day with private car with 2 wonderful hosts/guides, Chirag and Nasir. Both made sure we were always well looked after and moved at 'our pace'. Chirag takes great pride in his work and making sure we understood his explanations. Very educational and eye opening. City tour- Slum tour

Sahil and Sam were terrific guides! I got to experience all of the major sites of Mumbai with Sahel in 5 hours! He was very knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions Sam showed me his home; the Dharavi Slums. We toured both the commercial areas as well as the residential side. Could not have been more satisfied with tour! Thank you Sahil and Sam for showing me your city!!

A fantastic insight into life in Mumbai

There were 4 of us on this private tour , our driver was Sunhil who was amazing. We learnt so much about life in Mumbai and were taken to see the real Mumbai. This is one of the only companies that offers a tour of Bollywood which we all enjoyed. I have great respect for our driver who safely took us all around cheerfully. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. Thank you for two great days!

Private two days trip

First day was reasonable, a 19 y/o kid was our guide, he tried to do the best he can, very polite and helpful, the show us the poorest part of the city of Mumbai, and some places not sanitized at all, the car was poor maintained, one tire get flat, close to the fish market, smelling fish very unclean, driver does not have tools to repair, we wasted about 2 hrs there. this was the good day. The second day guide not show until 2 pm. local phone of the tourist company was disconnected, the hotel concierge was very helpful, and one guy came on foot take us to a train station where we get into a train to show us the same stinky beach, we cancelled and returned to the hotel in taxi. I really want a refund,

Private two-day tour of Mumbai-all the sights including Dharavi slum & Dhobi Ghat (The City of Laundry).

This was a great tour - good value for money. It took in all the important tourist 'must sees' of Mumbai on the first day followed by two hours walking tour through the Dharavi Slum with a knowledgeable local guide on the 2nd day. For the tour I give 5 out of 5. Transport on the 1st day was by air-conditioned car with a driver & English speaking guide. The second day however, I was picked up on a motorbike; told this was because I was a solo traveller & because my hotel was a long way (north) of the South Mumbai area where most of the tourist sights & the slum were located. I was given the option of Motorbike or taking the Metro train but told this option would take considerably longer to get to the "meeting place" for the tour. Another couple, also from north of Mumbai (close to my hotel) were picked up in air conditioned car which took them close to an hour to do the same trip south. For the transport I give only 3 out of 5 because there was no helmet provided for me. It was fun and an efficient quick way to travel in the congestion however it was also risky for me. Contact with the owner of Magical Mumbai Tours was good once I worked out that the contact number given could only be used via WhatsApp. Response time to my text messages was good. As a result, I also did one of their Bollywood tours which was great. They also gave me a discount on the Bollywood tour because I was a repeat client. Kellene D
