Solo but not alone

I met my tour guide Anthony in the lobby of my hotel at the scheduled time. He was friendly and professional from the start. I was impressed with his knowledge and the pace of the tour, it did not feel rushed. Elephanta Cave was amazing, climbing the 120 steps is so worth it. Kudos to the driver also, Manoj, who did not talk much but was always there with a smile. Thank you guys for making me feel safe and for an amazing experience, one I will not soon forget ❤️

I went on a one day tour with a guide called Dev, I really liked it, was the best. He is very knowledgeable and has great attitude!

Different

The ferry to the island was an experience.The island is filled with wild monkeys. Our tour guide was excellent & very knowledgeable & personable. We were unaware of having to climb 120 steps to the cave & opted for another means of transportation, which was most embarrassing for me,when 4 men with a chair nailed to 2 posts appeared & carried my partner & I individually. The cost was an additional $75 + TIPS. Quite a unique experience

Absolutely fantastic experience!

Raj, Samir and Mikesh were amazing! Right on time arrival, extremely knowledgeable and very cooperative. The experience from the tour itself is that it's very easy one - no need to climb anywhere, light walk and was not too hot. I learned a lot about Hindu from Samir. If I haven't asked to guide me to the island it would have been very fast and bored. But with these folks it turned into an educational adventures!! Thanka and warm regards!

The tour of the elephant caves were absolutely amazing, our guide Dev took such good care of us making sure we were safe and having the best time, he also took so many photos for us trying to make sure to capture every moment of our experience for us! It was like hanging out with an old friend. Our guide for the elephant caves explained so much of the beautiful history and shared the story’s of living in the local village and was very patient when we wanted to take 5000 photos of everything, our guide took us to places that the other tourists couldn’t go and it was just an amazing experience all round. I highly recommend booking this experience once in a life time opportunity, and I will definitely be back! Take care guys ❤️✌️

Must see in Mumbai

I recommend this tour, I think this is one of the most important sights of Mumbai, and if you are visiting this city you must see this.

Facinating tour

Wasnt really sure what to expect, but booked the tour prior to leaving the UK, it was a full day (longer than the 5 hours stated), but traffic was bad due to a marathon !! the guide on the island actually lives there, he told us all about the history and made the trip interesting with stories of the Portugese invasion, there are shops and stalls all the way up the steps, be careful as one lady slipped due to paying too much attention to the stalls, - most of the items we bought were bartered down to around a quarter of the asking price

This trip, was pretty good. Great views, we took a lot of pictures. caves were amasing, mumbai is a very vibrant. but we got tired fast. Thanks to our tourguide he had few bottles with himself.

Excellent way to see Mumbai and the Elephanta Caves

I took this tour on my one spare day in Mumbai, and I'm so glad I did. I took the full day tour, with the caves in the morning and a Mumbai tour in the afternoon, and whilst I was with a group for the caves, there was only me for the afternoon, so it turned into a private tour. I was a solo female traveller, and I felt very comfortable , both chatting to others in the group , but also with my guide and driver for the afternoon. The caves are a fair hike up, but absolutely worth seeing, and the sheer number of places we saw in Mumbai in the afternoon meant that I came back to the hotel exhausted but elated after an amazing day. I highly recommend Mystical Mumbai !

Great Experience

During my short stay at Mumbai I decided to pick up this tour to get to see as much as I can from Mumbai. The Company were very professional and punctual as they sent me a car on he agreed time and we reached on time the destinations despite the usual unexpected traffic of Mumbai. I went to Elephanta Island with the tour guide Mr. Sameer who was very informative and explained well about the history of the caves as he was originally from that island. He also took for me great photos as I was alone in this tour. The other part of the tour was with Dev, who was also very friendly and informative. He showed me the city of Mumbai and answered all my questions. He also shared some of the lifestyle of the people living in Mumbai and their daily habits and culture. I enjoyed so much this tour and I would definitely select the other tours offered by this company during my next visit to Mumbai. Totally recommended.

Elephanta Insel (Elephanta Caves)

Die Elephanta Inseln sind ab Mumbai per Schiff in ca einer guten Stunde zu erreichen. Ab dem Gateway of India fahren die Schiffe alle 30 Minuten. Das Ticket für das Schiff kauft man direkt am Steg zum Schiff. Es ist die Beste Variante. Alle anderen Schalter oder Vermittler verkaufen die Tickets viel zu teuer (im Dezember 2018 hin und Rückfahrt für 200 Roupien ca. 3 Euros). Eine erste Gebühr wird am Uferplatz verlangt, 5 Roupien. Ein kleiner Zug, wieder für 5 Roupien, fährt direkt zu den Höhlen. Vorher müssen aber viele Treppen gestiegen werden. Die Höhlen selber muss man unbedingt besichtigen (vorallem die ersten drei höhlen), und da bezahlt man eine Eintrittsgebühr von 500 Roupien für Touristen (für Inder sind es 40 Roupien). Aber es lohnt sich. Man sollte 3-4 Stunden vorsehen. Man kann (gratis) auf einen Berg über den Höhlen steigen, wo die Aussicht überragend ist.

Netter Einblick in die Millionenmetropole

Wir konnten den Beginn unserer Tour frei wählen, ein früher Start kam uns bei der Hitze in Mumbai sehr entgegen. Unser Guide war überpünktlich und überzeugte mit viel Fachwissen und perfektem Englisch. Der Transport vor Ort erfolgte über Taxis. Bei der Überfahrt nach Elephanta ist der Guide nicht mit dabei, vor Ort wartet dann ein lokaler Reiseführer. Leider war unserer des Englischen nicht wirklich mächtig, wir haben uns die Infos aber zusammengereimt. Zurück in Mumbai wurden wir direkt am Bootsanleger schon von unserem Guide begrüßt, die Orga klappte wie am Schnürchen. Sehr zu empfehlen!
