I booked a private tour...

I booked a private tour but only half of my tour was private. I was met 30 minutes late and then waited on a car for an additional 30 minutes. The owner or manager was very rude. He told me to be happy with what I got because of the amount of cruisers. The night before I was told my tour wouldn’t be private so I canceled. The company followed up that they could do a private after all. I book private tours for a reason, I’m an in shape 42 year old who likes to move fast and do as much as possible. If I pay for a private tour I expect to be on a private tour.

Perfect tour guide Aryan & driver Rafik!

Excellent tour by Aryan, a young and professional tour guide. Patient, calm and composed in handling any situation. Polite, friendly, helpful, sincere and kind. It’s really hard to find such a committed and professional tour guide nowadays. He’s down to earth too. He bought me cold drink as the weather was burning and refused to take my money. He spoke good and clear English and explained everything in detailed for the slum and Mumbai sightseeing tour. He’s definitely a gem to the company & I’m sure all the guests will love him. Double thumbs up to Aryan & will engage his service for my future trip! The driver, Rafik was punctual, picked me up from the hotel timely and drove us safely for the whole day. He’s friendly and professional and has a smiling face same as Aryan. It will be perfect if his car’s AC is cold then I wouldn’t perspire while on the road. The tour company is also very professional. Replied my WhatsApp and arranged the driver to pick me up from hotel timely although my hotel was not in the preferred hotel list. Overall, I’m very happy with the service!

Just Do It!!

Cannot rate the Private Full Day Mumbai Sight Seeing Tour (with lunch) highly enough. Our guide Sahil was super knowledgeable, friendly and kept a pace that was comfortable for us all in the Mumbai heat. We ticked all the boxes for the main sights and topped off an already great day with lunch at his family home - an unexpected highlight. What an experience meeting his family and sharing an authentic delicious lunch with them all something we will always remember. Special thanks to our driver Ashkar. He managed the crazy Mumbai traffic effortlessly and his airconditioned car was a relief from the heat. Great way to experience Mumbai

Great city and food tour

Kavita provided a great tour during a heatwave in Mumbai. She navigated the city tourist attractions very well, answered all of our questions (except about cricket haha) and had a great personality and fun personality. She gave time to pause and enjoy the sites, sounds and smells and we never felt rushed. We saw a ton! She didn’t miss a beat when the car had an issue and worked out a solution while we toured the train station. Shamsher our driver was not only a safe and skilled driver, but very attentive to us getting in and out of the car (which you do a lot) , was always ready to go, and had such a calm presence so you felt like you were always in good hands. Thanks to you both for an informative and enjoyable day.

Great tour with Excellent Guides

We had a very extensive tour through the Dharavi Slum with Varsha. She was so great. Young woman who lives in the slum so knew so much. She was very attentive to all our questions. Crossing the street was challenging and she kept us together like a mother duck. She did so much more that just show us sites... she gave us insight into life in the slum. It was an enlightening experience that I'm so glad I went there. We spent over 2 hours walking and exploring. The people there were very friendly, especially the children. I highly recommend this part of the tour and especially Varsha. The second part of the tour was with Ashab. Ashab was very knowledgeable in the places we went. Between him and our driver, we were able to make stop and take pictures easily at really great places. He took us into Crawford Market and it was great to be with a guide in there. I highly recommend this tour.

When you are over Temples, Mosques and Churches!

Had a great tour of Mumbai with our guide, Nikhil. It focused on the working aspects of the city rather than the usual temples, mosques and churches. The best parts of the tour were the Dhoby experience and the Slum Tour. Nikhil was informative and knowledgeable, able to answer all our questions. The surprising Slum Tour was guided by a delightful young lady called Phuna (?) who grew up in the slums. It was unexpectedly most interesting and I wish we had longer. Perhaps less time in the gardens and a longer slum tour would be better. Anyway, a great days tour. Highly recommend.

A friendly, well organised day learning about Mumbai

This was such an excellent way to spend a well organised day seeing and learning about Mumbai. We started the day with a tour of the Dharavi slums, led by the most excellent guide, Varsha. She was both incredibly knowledgeable and super friendly/ personable throughout the whole tour. We then went and had a private car tour of all the sites with Neha and Hasan, who were equally as excellent and friendly. I will say that nobody likes traffic but with these two we had lots of interesting conversations and learned tonnes more about life in Mumbai. thank you all for a wonderful day x

Fascinating day out

This was a great experience to see the Dharavi Slums and Mumbai with fantastic tour guides. Varsha was friendly and shared great insight into the slums. For the Mumbai tour we were greeted by Neha and Hasan who were wonderful company to be in and made the journey all the more fun. Thank you for a great day!

An absolute shambles!

This tour was an absolute shambles! Our driver spoke little English, didn't know we had paid for lunch, and did not give us any history whatsoever of the supposed stops, of which in the end we saw 5 of the 15 shown in the itinerary on the Viator, those being the Gateway of India, Marine Drive, the Hanging Gardens, the Railway Station and the Dhobi Ghat (which was being dropped at a viewing platform for 10 minutes). I blame the tour company here - not the driver - for putting a totally unsuitable and unprepared person to drive us around all day. It wasnt a cheap trip either and we are unlikely ever to return to Mumbai to visit all the places we missed. I must say the visit to the Slum included in this tour was first class, I believe the guides name was Varsha who spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable about the slum - this part of the tour was excellent. I'd advise to do the slum and the city tour separately, or indeed get a taxi into the city centre for a fraction of the cost of this tour and look at the monuments yourself. Apart from the slum that was what we got!

Magical Mumbai

All the historic site we were taken too were great. The explanation of the recycling industry in the slums was amazing. The lunch (actually dinner) with guides family let us get to know the locals.

Great way to spend a day in Mumbai

Having a layover in Mumbai, this tour seemed like the only way to see the city in a day. It was a good choice. The first part was a city tour spent mainly south where a lot of the grand colonial architecture lies. The Ghandi museum was good and I would have happily spent more time there. Didn't appreciate the 'gift shop' near Gateway of India. Overall good though thanks to my great guide Neha and driver Jq. The afternoon was the Dharavi Slum tour which was excellent. Pooja was a wonderful and fun guide who lived there. I was initially hesitant about booking this however very glad I did. Eye opening and informative. Recommend this especially if you have limited time here.

Mumbai Full Day Tour

We did a full day tour with Shuaib after finishing our cruise. With both a guide and driver, it seemed easy ( for Mumbai) to get into and out of various sites. Shuiab had an itinerary planned but was very open to change depending on our requests. he handed us of to a different guise who finished our day with a very in-depth tour of the slums.

Emotional but Educational

Tour very good and Varsha was a great guide and very informative but our understanding it was a personal tour which it wasn’t had around 12 people for the first half of our tour.

The tour was great. Traffic was terrible.

Both guides, Shrudi (city) and Varsha (for Dharavi Slums) were great. Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Sultan (driver) did an exceptional job. The highlight was the slum tour. This tour covers many places/attractions. But the traffic in Mumbai is terrible. Be prepared to spend good amount of time in the car.

Private Tour in a Group with 27 other people!

Magical Mumbai Tours accepted and confirmed our booking and took our money for an 8 hour private tour of Mumbai City & Slums. We arrived to find that due to demand, they had changed it to a group tour with 27 other people, with no warning or refund. Some others had received an email or text, but others like us, had no warning until we arrived at the meeting place, by which time it was too late to make other arrangements. After waiting one hour in the hot sun whilst they dealt with all the unhappy private tour customers and arranged us into groups, we travelled one hour in an old bus with broken seats to the slum area. We were then taken to a coffee shop with one toilet and told to buy anything we needed for the day as there would be no lunch break. By this time it was 1235 pm. After waiting for everyone to use the toilet, we started the slum tour at 1320 and our guide was excellent, though the tour was again 2 hours in hot sunshine with no food or toilet stop. The slum tour wasnt just our group, but others who had joined by taxi or car and at the end of the tour we then stood around for a further 1 hour whilst they located our bus, found transport for those by taxi and car and the rest of our group returned from their tour and found the bus. By this time it was 1635 with no drink or toilet stop (4 hours). We were then taking the 1 hour back to the cruise terminal so that those who had booked the slum tour only could get off and advised that the City Tour would take a further 4 hours. By this point, 7 hours into our 8 hour tour, only having seen the slums, no toilet stop and the prospect of a further 4 hours without water or food, most people exited the tour. On asking about a refund, our fellow customer was told that there would not be one. Magical Mumbai Tours have definitely damaged the Viator brand and should be removed from their website.

Good trip

Great trip! The tour guide was very accommodating. We had a tight schedule and needed to be back soon and the tour guide was able to manage that well.

Private and not so Private Tour.

The tour was good however when we went on the Slum tour portiin of the trio, we were joined by another couple. Now it wasn't a private tour anymore even though I specifically bought a private tour as I like to go at my own pace.

Mumbai memories

Great tour of Mumbai thanks to our knowledgeable tour guide Sahill and our very patient driver Raffiq. We were sown all the main sights starting at the Gates of India and ending at the amazing Dharavi Slums. Also there is no problem if you want to visit a site that is not on the itinerary. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Private tour without guide!

What should have been a great informative day learning about Mumbai, was not the tour that was advertised. We had no guide. We had a nice driver, and he tried to fill in as the guide, but did not have the history behind any sights, so we did not learn very much about the city. When we asked why there was no guide he said there was a family problem. I asked about the Dharavi slum tour which was part of the package we paid for, but he didn't know anything about that. He had to call the organizer and thankfully got us added to a small group tour. We have never had this issue before and we were very disappointed. I would have rated it lower but the slum tour was very good and the driver was nice.

Mind-blowing Mumbai

This was a mind-blowing tour of the main city of Mumbai. There were things I had never imagined: the dobi, a laundry organized like a medieval guild; a special "jungle" for dealing with Zorasteran corpses; the list goes on. Add the Dharavi Slum to your tour. It reminded me of how my grandfather worked when he first came to the US. It's a self-governing community; it's a multi-purpose factory!

A great day out sightseeing

Great full day tour . Our guide for the day was a very impressive young lady called Kavita . Extremely knowledgeable about the sights we visited , loads of good information was given on every stop . Our group of 4 was very happy with the day .,

One of the best experiences

This tour was hands down one of the best experience for me not only did the driver came to pickup to a location that wasn’t mentioned in their list but he was on time and very genuine personality. His name was Rafiq as long as I can remember and it was pleasant talking to him during my trip. My first stop was at a cafe where all of us gathered and then Varsha gave us a deep dive into the history and culture of Dharavi slums. I got some valuable insights from that and also she was a local which was unbelievably helpful! My next guide was Sunil who has a unique personality and he showed me some of the best spots in Mumbai along with some hidden gems that I believe not many could have discovered by themselves. We stopped on the way to get some sugarcane juice as well and I cannot stress on the hospitality aspect of it all especially by Rafiq, my driver and Sunil my city guide.

Dharavi slum tour. Excellent guide and very thorough. Great guide as well for Mumbai but impossible to cover all the 15 stops mentioned on the description of the tour because of Mumbai traffic ( f.e Dhobi Ghat)

A day tour in Mumbai

I had an incredible day in Mumbai with the guide Shruti and driver Rafique. Not only everything was perfect, but I felt every second that both Shruti and Rafique truly cared about me and did their best to make my experience memorable. I learned a lot about the history of Mumbai, its culture and traditions, and my lunch in the local restaurant was really delicious. I would definitely like to come back to Mumbai.

Do the slum tour!

The city tour was ok, but the slum tour was really great. Poonja, not sure of spelling, gave us a wonderful tour and did a great job with my nine year old. She let him sort some of the plastic, introduced him to other kids that live in the slum, and was a wealth of information. She was great. The first part of the day was ok, but in fairness my kid was sick to his stomach. The guide and driver were very accommodating and did all they could to ease his day. Luckily he felt better by the slum tour and really enjoyed that part.

The best experience

I went on a full-day tour, exploring Mumbai and the slums, and my guides, Varsha and Ashab were both kind, informative and accommodating. Overall, I couldn’t have made a better decision than choosing Magical Mumbai Tours for a first experience of the city.

Fun tour with a great company!

My driver Sultan, was an incredible chofer, I felt very safe with him at the wheel. He was even there a few minutes early to pick me up. The guide in the slums Pooja, was very sweet and fun. She shared all her experiences with us and made sure we felt comfortable the whole time. It was an eye opening experience to say the least. Finally, we were guided by a very kind and professional young lady named Shurti throughout the city. This tour is a must if you want to see the real Mumbai. We saw so many highlights of Mumbai with our guide Ravi and driver Hassan. Having a driver is critical in this busy city. Great day in Mumbai

Ravi was a great guide with a wealth of information. We saw a lot in the time that we had and got a good overview of Mumbai. Our driver was great as well. We did this tour after we disembarked from the cruise ship and we’re able to keep our luggage with us and be dropped off at the airport. Very responsive and accommodating our needs.

Very complete an interesting tour

Highly recommend the tour. In the morning Varsha, grown up in the slum and an accounting student, gave us an interesting insight in the daily life of Dharavi slum. Afterwards Ravi and Hassan took us via the touristic highlights and some streetfood venues (additional option). We'e had several very different streetfood dishes, which were a good introduction to local dishes. Ravi and driver Hassan were very knowledgeable and nice company during the day.

Amazing company and excellent staff

EXCELLENT TOUR. COMPANY IS FANTASTIC WITH PUNCTUAL STAFF AND FAST RESPONSES. IT WAS MY 1ST TIME IN MUMBAI AND I DID A FULL 8 HOUR TOUR ALONE TO GET AN IDEA OF THE CITY. The tour was fine except...

The tour was fine except we paid for a private tour and at the last moment was informed that the tour would be a small group tour. We had to take the tour because it was a last minute change and we had no other option. The cost was the same.

Unforgettable.

Neha (guide) and JQ (driver) provided a full day of interesting and exciting experiences. Highly recommend this tour which ended with a two hour visit to the slums, guided by Pooja. The things I learned and the sights I saw will stay with me forever.

Perfect 1-day tour to see Mumbai’s highlights

This is the perfect tour for those who have limited time in Mumbai and want to see the city highlights. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We were picked up at our hotel promptly at 8am by our private guide Neha and driver JQ, who were cheerful and took great care of us all day. We enjoyed a number of once-in-a-lifetime experiences in our 6-hour tour: seeing hundreds of local citizens practicing cricket at the Oval Maiden; experiencing the tremendous artistry and effort involved in washing and drying clothes at the Dhoby Ghat laundry; seeing the Mumbai military doing drills near the Gateway of India and Taj Hotel; walking around the railway station where they filmed the Jai Ho song from Slumdog Millionaire; and last but not least, an informative walk through the Dharavi Slums, expertly guided by Pooja, a Dharavi resident, where we saw first-hand how much hard work is done every day by the residents to produce so many beautiful products and how vibrant the community is. I highly recommend this tour and specifically the dynamic duo of Neha and JQ, who will ensure you have a perfect day and learn a lot about the culture, history and beauty that Mumbai has to offer.

Perfect one day tour of Mumbai.

Our group of four did this tour. Driver JQ and guide Neha picked us up at our hotel exactly on time after texting us to tell us they were close. During the ride to our first stop, Neha gave us an excellent and interesting orientation to Mumbai and its history. At each stop, she relayed both general and fun information, always asking us if we had questions. She took photos of and with us which we will treasure. JQ drive safely and well and joined in our banter. He was fun. If you only have one tour experience in Mumbai, this is the one. All four of us could not be happier.

Friendly, colourful and eclectic chaos!

A full day’s tour. Expect to be tired at the end! That said, the guides are excellent - they work their socks off showing the travellers the friendly, colourful and eclectic chaos that is Mumbai. It’s an experience - and one worth experiencing ! 💙

Aussie 5 star review

We crammed so much into the day in the very capable hands of Ashab and Shamsher. We were shown the sights, given important information in a friendly easy to understand way. Ashab joined in the fun, understood our aussie humor and was supremely great to have along. Some may find this particular tour with the Laundry and Slums very confronting so seriously consider what you are wanting to do. A rewarding experience on a number of levels. Playing cricket with kids in india is unforgettable!

Amazing experience

This tour was well worth it and a great cultural experience. Guides Shohaib and Pooja were terrific and highly professional at what they do- it was a pleasure having them as guides. Although it was a whole day affair from 9.30am-6pm I did not feel the time pass at all. Highly recommend this tour and these guides. Minesh the driver was also a plus point and made the journey between points of interest comfortable.

A great introduction to Mumbai and the Dharavi Slums

We really enjoyed our tour with Ravi and driver Shamsher. Ravi was so knowledgable and answered all of our questions, giving us some real insights to Mumbai. Our afternoon visit to the slums, with guide Pooja, was an eye-opener and certainly changed our perceptions. We also enjoyed our meal with a local family. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get an introduction to what Mumbai has to offer.
