Great way to see the highlights of Mumbai in one day

I was in Mumbai for a short time and wanted to see the famous Elephanta caves, as well as other highlights of the city to get a feel for Mumbai. Throughout the day, my guide Anand Sharma did an excellent job explaining the history, architecture, and daily life of the city, and was personable and welcoming. The tour was also organized well to maximize places visited without feeling rushed, while also providing a good variety of experiences - ancient history, colonial history, markets, daily life, museums, and religious sites. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to make the most of a short visit to Mumbai, and would also recommend Anand as an excellent guide to the city.

Awesome Experience!

We took this tour with Ida who was a wonderful guide. She was so knowledgeable, sweet and flexible. She catered to our interest, provided snacks and water and helped us with handling vendors. She could navigate large crowds and got us where we needed to be efficiently and effortlessly. We learned so much from our day with her!

Great tour for our brief stay in Mumbai

Our guide, Ida picked us up promptly from the cruise port and gave us a great tour of Elephanta and Mumbai. All of our tickets and admissions were included, and our guide pointed out and explained everything in great detail. Our guide was super knowledgeable shared tons of information and tidbits, and easily answered all our questions. With only 7 hours available to us before our cruise departed, this was a perfect way to see a lot in a such a short time.

Great tour of the city with Sudha. She knows the history of Mumbai very well and takes the time to explain the origins. She allows free time and is with you on every step of the tour. It’s a great personal and private experience for you or a few others. Definitely recommend!

Marathon mumbai

Sub and our driver awesome!! They informed us just enough and kept us safe.suba was our guide. She is a force of nature in taking control and getting things done. Our driver kept us on schedule and safe in the crazy mumbai traffic. Wau better than a cruise ship tour.

The caves and boat ride was great. Our guide Sub was awesome. She was informative but not intrusive. Our ship eas two hours late but she still got a stops done on the itinetary. I would recomend this trip. Well worth the money and ask for Sub. Our driver was also great at keeping us safe without wasting time. He also took us to the airport. Very couteous.

Fabulous city tour

This tour covered what we wanted to see in Mumbai. Our guide was Nayana and our driver was Rafeek. Both were excellent. Nayana was so knowledgeable and we learnt so much about Mumbai. She was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble! Woukd highly recommend

Amazingly organized

Mumbai is an extremely big city and having someone to drive us around + someone guiding us and explaining has been a game changer. Amazingly organized.

Excellent Tour and Guide

This was a great excursion. Ida, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and is an excellent storyteller. It was a good blend of education, sightseeing, and being left alone to explore and shop. I highly recommend this daylong outing. Mumbai is not a city where monuments stand tall to and obvious. There are a lot of cool things to see and learn, but you need a guide!

Perfect itinerary to see Mumbai!

We were able to turn this full-day tour into a two day tour to better fit our schedule. Pacific Classic Tours India was great to work with. I don’t have enough good things to say about my tour of Mumbai with Hilario. He could be a history professor with how much knowledge he brings to the tour, and shares it in a very accessible way. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the trip and was flexible to give me options over the course of the day. He recommended an excellent place for lunch as an added bonus. The car was luxurious and comfortable. I got to know Mumbai in a way I never could have on my own. Hilario is extremely knowledgeable and overall a wonderful person to spend the day with! Highly, highly recommend.

Excellent tour of Mumbai with guide Akansha

Great tour of the Elephanta Cave

Our guide, Subhalakshmi, gave us a wonderful tour of the Elephanta Caves. She explained all the statues and made them even more real with her stories. We had a very good time and would recommend her highly.

EXCELLENT TOUR GUIDE AND MUMBAI TRIP

We booked this as we were getting off our cruise in Mumbai and wanted to have a private tour . Our representative was Blaise. We were over an hour late docking and I was worried that we would loose the trip but no problem! We were met at the gate and taken to our car. We had a driver and a tour guide. It was EXCELLENT. We went to the elephant caves , laundrette , temples , station etc etc and even asked him if he could take us to the synagogue at the end which he did . During the time we were given a verbal tour explaining all about each place , it was fabulous. The queues were huge in some places particularly when we went to the elephant cave and the crowd moved quickly but we were taken straight to the front of the queue and even given first choice of best seats on the boat !! We couldn’t have experienced Mumbai without our guide - he was excellent, knowledgeable , friendly and a funny guy. A most memorable day . We would throughly recommend you book your own trip with this company and ask for this tour guide . Brilliant day , we were looked after and guided through this amazing city .. thank you very much. 🙏🏼

Worth it

5 out of 5. My guide and the driver arrived on time. The car was clean; the driver safely navigated the traffic without incident. The boat ride to the caves was comfortable. The boat people sold chips/crisps to feed birds on the way there. My guide was great. She explained the tour itinerary, so that I knew what was next. We took the small train (5 minute ride) to the caves and climbed some steps to the top where the caves are located. You have to pass many vendors on the way. The cave tour was worth the steps. My guide explained the history along with details on each carving. We went to the hanging gardens, visited a Jain Temple, went to Ghandi ji museum and had a great lunch. She pointed out major sites along the drive. I recommend this as a private tour. I had a very memorable time.

Wonderful day in Mumbai

Nayana was a wonderful guide who met all of our expectations from start to finish, she was so friendly and her explanations and enthusiasm for all parts of Mumbai were fantastic. When we told her we had already seen some elements of the tour, she modified our tour to show us other aspects we hadn't yet seen. A wonderful tour, highly recommended

The guide Shabbir Atthar was outstanding. He was very knowledgeable, friendly , accommodating. He Was easy to understand and gave us a lot of interesting information. I would recommend him to any of my friends.

Flawless tour of Mumbai, highly recommended

We only had one day in Mumbai so we wanted to do a full-day tour where we could cram in as much as possible. This tour did not disappoint! We started off going to the UNESCO Elephanta caves (an absolute must-see in Mumbai) and then due to the delay we had disembarking our cruise ship, the rest of the itinerary was tailored to what we wanted to see the most. Nayana was an amazing guide, her talks were so informative and added much-needed detail to the sights of the city, especially in Elephanta caves. Our tour driver also did an equally amazing job navigating the busy Mumbai traffic and the aircon in the car was a relief! I can't recommend this tour highly enough. Even though we only had one day in Mumbai, thanks to this tour we came away knowing a lot more about the city's religious, social and cultural history.

Rio was an excellent guide and provided a very interesting and well planned tour . We saw all the main sites and were given a lot of well presented information.

An amazing day exploring Mumbai!

What a wonderful experience. Our tour guide Supha, was amazing!!! So much information she shared and kept us entertained for the entire 8 hour private tour. The Elephanta Caves were spectacular. Incredible to believe it was all hand carved with so much history. The tour of Mumbai was great, our driver was amazing! A lunch stop at Leopold Cafe (suggested by Supha) was incredible. The food amazing and such huge portions. Two of us ate (completely stuffed) with a pitcher of beer for $30 USD! The central laundry was incredible to see and experience. I don’t know how they keep all the laundry organized and returned to the owner. This tour was one of the best values we had on our entire trip. Supha, you’re amazing! We definitely want to come back to explore more of Mumbai.

Our thoughts on Mumbai

India is a third world country so industrial smog is the norm here. Visibility is down to a few miles/Klm so views of the city are close up. We met the Guide at the gates to the Port and travelled in a lovely air-condition car to see the spice markets, washing sect industry, parks and historical buildings from the British, Portuguese and even the Mongal era. One has to get used to the sea of humanity and the open rubbish dumps. But if you can see past that you get a sense of what it could be in a few years. Our guide steered us through a throng of people traveling to Elefanta Island. Still don't know how he managed that. We took a ferry ride about an hour to get there which was nice. Word of warning here! Go to toilet before you go as you will not like what you find on the island. One needs to start training for a marathon for this treck it is not for the faint hearted. Cute train ride to the base of the mountain. Then 130 steps to the cave. Was it worth it? I would say yes if you are fit enough. We had an excellent guide who protected us when needed and was full of information. Our driver was amazingly skillful in traffic and always appeared when and where we needed him. Happy to recommended both

Wonderful day on Mumbai with Nayna

Nayna was a terrific guide. She gave us lots of history and fully explained the importance of all the sites we visited. Stopped for lunch at a great restaurant for Indian food. Highly recommend this tour and Nayna in particular. Great Day!

Ida was so knowledgeable about Mumbai

Our trip was too the Elephanta caves and Mumbai City tour. It took us a very long time to get off the boat and Ida met us cheerfully. Her knowledge of all of the history and iconography in the Elephanta caves was excellent. She is a red card tour guide which is the highest rank. The caves were beautiful and here stories really enriched the surroundings. Even though we got a late start due to immigration we were still able to grab lunch at Leopold,see the Ghandi museum, the train station and the laundry thanks to Ida and her efficient driver. What a perfect day ! Thanks Ida!

Great guided tour with Naina

It was a great experience and absolutely professional guide Naina. We enjoyed every object included in the tour and decorated with amazing stories! Tour provider is flexible and attentive to some specific needs (eg. corrected tour timing when arriving later than expected).

Absolutely recommendable!

Our tour guide was Ruplai. She was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and extremely flexible. Unfortunately we could not do the elephanta caves since the harbour area was restricted. Yet, this didn’t impact the tour in anyway negatively. We learned a lot about Mumbai, the history as well as the city. We enjoyed it, thanks!

Rupali was such a great guide for our tour. Her knowledge of the city, country, influences and architecture were incredible and really added to the beautiful sights we were already getting to take in. Excellent Elephanta Cave and Mumbai experiences with a wonderful guide!

Naina was an excellent guide! She thoroughly explained the intricate carvings of the Elephanta Caves, and the story of Shiva . We had an excellent lunch at an established Mumbai restaurant, and she took us through the market and a lovely shop in our quest to complete our India souvenier shopping. Naina is very knowledgeable and friendly and her english is excellent. We highly recommend Naina and this tour!

Mumbai tour

The places we visited were serene, breathtaking, and full of culture especially Elephanta caves. Nayana, our tour guide is a very qualified tour guide, she explained in great detail about every place we visited. Enjoyable day exploring history of Mumbai

The tour was great, our tour guide Nandini was very knowledgeable and experienced. We learned so much about the city’s history, culture and day to day life. We also stopped by the local fruit market to buy some fresh fruits at our request (which was not a part of the program). I recommend this tour with Nandini to anyone who is visiting Mumbai and wants to explore the city and the caves in a day.

Fabulous day in Mumbai and the Elephanta Caves

Elephanta Caves are a must do! Absolutely spectacular and our guide, Anand Sharma, was so knowledgeable and happy to share information with us. He coordinated with the driver and our transportation to and from the island and around the city was seamless. For lunch we went, at Anand’s recommendation, to a tiny restaurant serving the best Bombay sandwiches in the city. They were absolutely delicious along with the chai! Anand has a deep wealth of knowledge and is an excellent guide. Just wish we could have spent more time with him.
