Bohri Mohall Food tour during Ramadan

The tour was amazing with good food options. It covered the 10 most famous items from the area. It included sweets, savory, sorbets, hand churned ice cream. My personal favorite was dhoodhi halwa, mango malai and sheekh kabab. The tour guide Samrat was very helpful and had gave detailed info on the items being served. Overall an excellent experience. Highly recommend if you ever wanted to visit this area during Ramadan

We had a fun time with Samrat during the Kebab & Curry Walk. Samrat has a warm & welcoming personality with a wonderful sense of humor! We tasted sweet & savory dishes curated by the Bohri Community of Mumbai & were entertained throughout. An evening well spent!

Enlightening evening with Meherban

The Bohri Mohalla food walk was a long awaited one for my husband and I. Meherban is a fantastic host and guide, very knowledgeable on varied topics and has a great sense of humor 😀 We came back stuffed to our gills and so much more enlightened about the unique cuisine and culture of the community. A few tips that No Footprints also shares. Go on an empty stomach, with an open mind (choice of meats and hygiene), walking shoes and plenty of drinking water. We visited 10 stalls covering both sweet and savory which were perfectly interspersed. The timing was perfect too, as we missed the heavy crowd that venture out . One point I was not very happy about was the widespread use of single use plastic. Only 3 places complied. One, the Bohri Bhel vendor who used quaint China bowls and wooden spoons. Kudos to that stall. Second, one juice stall served us in glass tumblers. Third, was the last shop that seved roti and meat curry. The other shops don't seem to care. I hope No Footprints can come up with an idea that reiterates your name of leaving no (carbon?) Footprints . Cheers to your team.

Gastronomical delight in bohri mohalla

This walk was such a delight! The food was amazing and I have never eaten ( or would have tried on my own) half the stuff that we were exposed to on the walk. The walk is especially memorable because of our guide Meherban Irani. He is quite a story teller and kept me entertained and informed through your the 2 hr walk.

An absolute must!

This tour is an absolute must while visiting Mumbai! We loved and felt honored to spend an evening with Batul, our guide. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and just fun to spend an evening learning from! Would go back and do this again!

Awesome Food Tour

Had a great tour with Batul. The food was delicious and it was great to hear both about the history of the neighborhood and the future plans. All of the dishes were great. Awesome flavor, but not overly spicy. It was a great mix of meat, veg, curries, and deserts. We left the tour totally full and totally happy! Thanks again for the great tour.

Great local food tour

This was a very enjoyable tour - excellent variety of dishes, closely located and very friendly. Most importantly Batul was a brilliant guide - funny, warm & considerate!

Wonderful insight to street food in the evening

Batul, our guide was a lovely powerhouse of humour and knowledge. Her enthusiasm for food was infectious ! We sampled a full variety of Mumbai cuisine - such a new experience for us.

Fun sampling of street food - good for meat lovers!

Derrick gave an enthusiastic walk through the street food that we would have had no way of trying without this tour. We alternated sweet and savory delectable with one more flavorful than the rest. The Taj ice cream was a highlight with its sixth generation owner. Mutton kebabs and chicken tikka were also fantastic. We had a really fun night and definitely didn’t need to go out for dinner afterwards!!

This Kebab and Curry Walk with Aman as our guide was amazing! He had so much Mumbai history to share, which proved to be a great introduction to the street food portion of our tour. Every bite or sip on the tour was wonderful, and there were a lot of bites. The best part was that it was all new to us. Aman has a great rapport with his vendors, so he clearly treats them well. I had some thoughts on what food we might eat since my husband and I love Indian food, but the reality was so much better. In addition to great information and a huge variety of food options, Aman also took many awesome pictures during the tour - he truly is an artist and was the perfect guide for this tour. After the street food, the restaurant meal was also fabulous. My only regret was that I did not have enough room to eat as much as I wanted! This tour was a great introduction to Mumbai. I highly recommend this tour, you will not be disappointed.

An excellent insight into Bohri food and culture!

Spread across 10 courses, this food walk is a glutton’s dream! We kept switching between sweet and savoury dishes as is tradition in the Bohri community. Our guide Abhishek Ravishankar regaled us with origin stories of the food and its makers, while giving us an insight into the community and the neighbourhood. Would 10/10 recommend.

Great way to sample the street food of Mumbai

Brilliant experience trying the street food of Mumbai. Batul was a superb guide, knowledgable, fun and friendly. Learned a lot about the Muslim culture of the area as well as trying some delicious curry, rotis, kebab and the odd goat udder! Would throroughly recommend.

Foodies Paradise

Super fun experience. Shradha is very knowledgeable and has the best jokes! Despite having lived in Bombay all my life, there were things I learnt that night. Great selection of places to eat at. I look forward to doing many more tours with them.

Like a tasting menu at a top-rated restaurant

On May 20 I did the Kebab and Curry Walk from No Footprints with the guide Abhishek. From the very beginning, No Footprints did a splendid job with explaining the tour options and then guiding through the registration. They were able to accommodate a late start; before that, communication with Abhishek was flawless. The tour was really a tasting menu and I certainly liked all the dishes. In addition, many of them were not those I was expecting based on what I read before, and that was a great and pleasant surprise. All the dishes had an interesting story behind and Abhishek was great at combining food explanations with their connections with the city and the country. The tour took two hours and I fully enjoyed it from beginning to end. There was also plenty of food. Abhishek told me as well where in the city I could get other dishes I did not try in the tour and was interested in, and his recommendations were excellent. Although the tour could be somewhat pricey, it is surely worth every rupee; the experience may be comparable or better than dining at a top-rated restaurant. I cannot do anything but recommend the tour; it was one of the highlights of my trip to Mumbai.

The wholesome Food Walk !

The walk was such a new perspective even as a Mumbaikar ! The walk was curated so well with the concept of Kharas and Meethas. The food is definitely a highlight but the stories about the owners and communities made it even more fulfilling. Thanks to Abhishek who nailed the story telling and Rahul who helped with the smooth operations through the tour. Kudos to NFP ! Looking forward to more unique community centric food walks :) One small feedback - Would be a great if the owners could also come ahead and speak about how their business came around (Definitely understand this is only possible if they're comfortable with it :) )

When the mind, heart and tummy are nourished!

A fresh, wholesome perspective on the cultural heritage of the Bohri community, using the community's cuisine as the prime focus of this walk. Got to sample some amazing dishes that's truly stuff of legends, part of Bombay's 'foodie bucket list', if there's one. Well organized by team NFP, helmed by Abhishek and Rahul, our walk leaders for the day, who ensured we were well fed - with both food and fascinating stories. 100% recommended if you're a foodie, and a curious cat, willing to dive into what's beneath the surface, exploring the multi-layered character of Bombay.

A walk down the Bohra food and history lane

An evening well spent with local cuisines and not-so-local stories! Abhishek and Rahul were our lovely guides and filled our stomachs with delicious dishes and life-changing trivia about those dishes. We had mango malai and dudhi halwa, patrel biryani, aflatoon - a wholesome ghee sweet, Bohri sandwich or Naan chaap, Taj's mango ice cream, Black peas chat, watermelon and jalebi chasni cold milk, udder kebab, bara handi bhel, variyali soda (uff), and seekh kabab at Rehmania. Will return for other food walks, hungry for more.

Delightful Food Walk Experience

I had a big smile walking back home post the food walk. It was a fulfilling experience with all ten dishes covered as promised. Just like traditional Bohra meal starts with a pinch of salt, the tour leader (Abhishek) started the walk by giving everyone a pinch of salt as "Kharas". The tradition continues throughout the walk as we start off with a Mithas and then move to the Kharas. I would recommend meat lovers to try the walk as Bohri Mohalla and Mohd Ali Road have a lot to offer. And this walk with No Foot Prints lived up to my expectation. Especially with the many stories of history being shared during the walk.

One of the most fulfilling experiences that I have ever had both metaphorically and literally. You get to sample some of the best local delicacies while their very knowledgeable guides tell you their respective origin stories. 10+ dishes to sample and a truckload of anecdotes to take home!

I loved this tour. It was interesting getting to know the history and culture of the Bohri community and the area while trying all these dishes I'd never heard about before. Abhishek really knew his stuff when it came to the food. Moreover he was approachable and engaging. Wonderfully done. Would definitely recommend this one.

absolutely Amazing!

We took this tour with Batul and it was the best tour we have eve taken. The food was unbelievablely delicious at each location and each food or place had a story to go with it. The best part was, of course, Batul. She is the best guide anyone could hope for. She was so amiable and friendly. She started the tour off with a joke and it just got better from there. I can not recommend this tour enough and if you decide to take it, please request Batul. You will not regret it.

A Delicious and Deep Dive into a Unique Community

We could not have asked for a better tour of Mumbai’s Muslim street food than this one! Our tour guide, Batul, was from the neighborhood and not only showed us the food, but also knew all the people and could talk about the community, history, and customs (dining and otherwise) of the Bohra Muslim neighborhood around Mohammed Ali Road. When she saw a vendor she knows well, who isn’t out often, selling Handi, she made sure to add it in and explain why it was so special. Hard to recommend this highly enough! A note: as passionate food people, we choose to do two food tours with No Footprints while in Mumbai: one focusing on the Hindu/vegetarian side, and then this one. For others who are serious about food and learning about this amazing city through the street food that helps all of its communities tick, this is unquestionably the right way to go about it. I can’t imagine trying to cover it all in one ‘whistle-stop’ your/evening, unless your goal is simply to check off tourist boxes rather than really enjoy and experience.

Fingerlickin' Food Tour Extravaganza

Our tour combined street food from a vast variety of different cultures and traditions: Yemenite, Persian, Muslim, and many more. Make sure to skip lunch that day as you will be sampling LOTS of delicious food, served with extended info on its tradition, origin and the people who craft it. It is amazing to see how fresh even fast food in India is as it is all handcrafted and made to eat right no. From the lip smacking' Vada Pav to the buttery dripping muslim chicken and naan - the variety of different snacks, flavors and colors is just mind-blowing. And I'll never forget the crackin' sounds of the Puri sellers, serving them by half a dozen. I was always going for solid 12 pcs. Our guide Adi was the most fun person you can imagine. It really felt like going out with a friend to grab some snacks and to crack some jokes. Lovely tour, perfect concept, professionally operated. Perfect performance, incredible food. What more can you ask for? BOOK!

Enjoying the culinary delights of Mumbai on the Kebab & Curry Walk with Abhishek Ravishankar

We very much enjoyed our evening on the Kebab and Curry walk with Abhi. Abhi was very informative and introduced our group of 9 to a lot of interesting foods (like curry udder!!) and lots of "udder" delicious food! Abhi was very accommodating and great with our two kids. He helped capture some great photos of our group and buy custard apples from the street vendor. We loved the ice cream at the Taj so much that some of us had three servings! We would highly recommend No Footprints and Abhi.

Great food tour

We really enjoyed the kebab and curry food walk. Mohd Ali Road is a bustling place with lots of interesting food stalls and restaurants. Our guide Abhi was enthusiastic and passionate about the food scene in Mumbai. He was also extremely accommodating and patient - we loved the ice cream at Taj so much that he took us back for a second round and also helped us to buy some fruit from a street vendor. It was interesting to try different sweet and savoury foods from the Muslim community and experience the chaos of Mohd Ali Road with an experienced guide

Perfect way to end our visit to Mumbai

We found No Footprints via an online article about guided tours in Mumbai and through TripAdvisor. As my fiance and I only had 2 days in Mumbai during a layover, we wanted to experience something both personal and unique, and the Kebab and Curry Food Walk with No Footprints was the perfect combination! Booking was very easy and all communication was fast and via email. After payment online, we arranged to have the tour during the evening of our departure back to Germany. Everything was included in the price, pick up/drop off/transportation from our hotel, personal tour guide, and food/drinks. We chose the Kebab and Curry Food Walk because we wanted to try something both not as touristy as the normal Mumbai sightseeing tours (although one must see the sights and use No Footprints to do so), as well as something with a local cultural connection. Our tour guide Batul picked us up in a very nice, comfortable car from our hotel at exactly our pre-arranged time. While driving to the Bohri Mohalla, she gave us a history of the city and local muslim community, which she grew up in. We loved Batul's friendliness and her personal stories about growing up in the community and the food that we would be tasting. Once we arrived, we tried several food dishes, ranging from hand churned ice cream, kebab meats, curry dishes, sweet deserts, and marinated chicken and bone marrow gravy. She took care of all the communication and payments, so all we had to do was eat! Although the tour lasted a couple of hours, the walk was not strenuous and you had the opportunity to walk around a local neighborhood and experience how people lived in Mumbai. By the end of the tour, we were absolutely stuffed, which was good because we were not looking forward to the airplane food on our return flight that evening. Mumbai is a wonderful city and we highly recommend this tour as well as all the tours with No Footprints (should be the at the quality of this one) and would definitely book another tour with them should we visit Mumbai in the future. Best Tour Ever!

We had one full day in Mumbai before heading on and wanted to make the most of that one day. We signed up for two tours (back-to-back) with No Footprints and were not disappointed. We did the Colonial Walking tour and the Kabab and Curry Food Walk. Our tour guide, Anusha, and our driver, Ramesh, were fantastic! Anusha was so much fun and filled us with great information on the history of Mumbai and she led us to the right food stalls down side streets that we would never have gone to by ourselves (and we didn't get sick at all - it was the most fantastic food!). We felt perfectly safe in the crush of humanity in Mumbai. I also want to say that Anahita who was my contact at their office was very quick to respond and answered all my questions. Thanks to everyone at No Footprints for making our one day in Mumbai totally memorable.

Excellent tour

What an excellent experience this food tour was. Our guide Anusha was super nice and knowledgeable, showing us a new area of the city we would unlikely discover ourselves. We tried a great variety of local food that we have never tasted before in a very interesting community. Stops were very well selected, and just when I thought we were done with the night we finished the tour with the best Tandoori chicken I had in my life.
