The best tour of Dharavi!

This tour was incredible! Sahil is an energetic, relatable guide who showed us the slums of Dharavi. He’s from here originally and blew our mind from what we thought this experience would be. We saw the culture, workers, people, and had such a memorable time. It didn’t feel invasive, and the locals were happy to show us their craft. Would highly recommend!

Amazing slum tour

What an amazing tour experience! Our tour guide Sahil was very friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience of the slums very memorable. If anyone is looking to learn more about the slums I would highly recommend this tour!

Varsha was our tour guide. She spoke very nice, clear and explained all the things in details. She was fluent in English and Hindi so made it very easy to follow through everything. She spent time to show lot of factories which open our eyes and mind. Had great experience- very thankful

Very nice tour with local guide

This tour was the highlight of our stay in Mumbai! Our local guide, Pooja showed us the daily life of the people living and working here. She was open to answer all our questions. It is really an eye opener and we enjoyed it very much. I would certainly recommend this tour.

This tour was incredibly interesting and Pooja was a super fun, engaging and informed guide. Walking around learning about the enormous industry happening in Dharavi was fascinating. The treatment of locals is respectful and unobtrusive. I’m so glad I came on this tour!

Informative with a funny host

Good experience. Was a little reluctant at doing this tour but Pooja was brilliant. She was funny and informative and a little sassy but she really made the tour enjoyable and good fun. Also worth noting that we were 30 mins late for our tour due to mix up from our hotel taking us to correct starting point but Pooja had waited for us and made us feeling very welcoming anyway. Thank you 🙏🏻

Pooja the passionate guide

Pooja was very passionate about her home and the local area. She provided a great amount of detail about the area, the people who lived there and how the businesses operate boosting the local economy. Pooja spoke very good English and was very friendly.

Exciting tour of Dhavari with Pooja

It was an amazing experience. POOJA our guide was great, spoke beautifully about all the activities in Dhavari. Took us to the most exciting areas. You can see she is loved by the residents and kids of the area. Woukd highly recommend doing a tour with her.

Interesting and educational

The Dharavi Slums tour is an unusual excursion to learn more about life and Pooja is an excellent guide for it! She knows a lot about the slums and can answer all your questions. Lots of facts, stories, information... Pooja makes the tour with jokes and lively communication so it is very exciting, interactive and emotional! You can completely immerse yourself in local life and see all details with your own eyes. I think it's worth visiting the slums with a local guide because i would never have learned as much new things myself. Tourists can walk alone the same route, but without explanation it is impossible to understand what and why people around are doing. In my opinion, it’s difficult to make the tour as interesting and amazing as Pooja does it... I highly recommend going with Pooja and thank you for the unique experience!

The real dharavi

The tour was amazing We were only the two with Pooja Daniel and Sara (couple from Portugal) Pooja was a very good guide, through the whole experience she always gave us good information and answered a lot of questions we made her always with the best smile of the world Also it was very good to experience the good local vibe everybody of the slum with no exception had towards her and also with us we were very well received and are very thankful that we could go there I saw an incredible group of people hardworking people struggling to make a living and at the same time making everything out of nothing out of trash and it’s hard to believe that such a valuable community (and I am not talking about the money they generate) are explored like that it made me very sad and thankful ate the same time I desire the best for them and that one day I come back here and they are earning their living with the dignity they deserve Thank you Pooja and thank you dharavi You can get no wrong with this tour I will also have a video in my YouTube channel to share this experience Daniel Furtado

Tour around slum

A very interesting day. Guide Pooja was really funny, nice and friendly. The visit was with a group of people (around 10-11) and we walked around the slum. Lots of explanation and information during the day. I enjoyed the tour very much. Highly recommended.

My tour was lead by Pooja! She’s amazing and funny and sweet and was very knowledgeable about the industry etc. I learned not only the history of the slum but also some sweet personal personal stories from her. You need to go and have her guide you :)

Great slum tour

I had a brilliant tour led by Varsha who was the perfect host, entertaining our group with her jokes and informing us all about life in the slum. We visited all manner of different cottage industries and Varsha explained how the Dharavi economy is linked together through these businesses and how the people live, including the numerous schools. Highly recommended tour.

Amazing Dharavi Slum-Tour

The tour of the Dharavi slums was unique. Varsha showed us places like the textile industry and plastic recycling. Varsha speaks very good English and you can ask her a lot of questions

Amazing, safe experience!

The slum tour with Varsha was amazing!! We weren’t sure about making the tour first, as we didn’t want to make an „attraction“ out of the poverty of the people living there. But Varsha was focusing on the good things, showing us the industrial part and explaining the productivity of the workers there, which ways they found to make money, how they are organized, etc. The people living there were friendly and we felt safe all the time. Varsha was a great guide and could answer all our questions. It was amazing!! 100% recommend

Best slum in the world

After doing the city tour the guide told us about the slum tour and we decided to go for it which was one of my best decision. Really got amazed by the recycling process and all the kindness of the people would highly recommend everyone to do the Dharavi slum tour.
