My tour guide, Abhishek knows much things about Dharavi, but also about Mumbai. He knows answers for any questions about Dharavi and city of Mumbai. Talkative and helpful, after our tour, I was going to city centre by train, Abi helped me with buying tickets and finding a train. Definitely recommend Abhishek as tour guide

Dharavi tour with Bhaii

We did a tour with Chirag Bhaii in the Dharavi in Mumbai, and it was an interesting and insightful experience for two Norwegians on a Mumbai trip! The guide had grown up in the area and had deep understanding of the community! I recommend both visiting the area as well as using this guide!

Not only are you able to see the area but the guide will help you understand the history and present nature of it, HIGHLY recommend this tour as it was a great way to spend my final day in Mumbai!

Interesting tour

The tour was very interesting. Ruqaiyya is a great tour guide. She showed me the different factories such as the recycling, the leather factory and the pottery as well as the residency area. My trip to Mumbai

Rukaya is an incredibly nice and friendly girl! Despite my lack of English, she politely agreed to give me a tour. But at the last minute I found a translator and everything went smoothly. Rukaiya has been living in Dharavi for many years now. As a local, she knows a lot of curious places. Definitely recommend exploring Dharavi with this amazing girl.

Ruqaiyya was amazing, explained everything about Dharavi. Highly recommend doing this tour to see another neighborhood of Mumbai as it is quite unique. More for the intrepid traveler. I also love that this company hires neighbors who live in the dharavi slum to help the community and if I went back, would want to use this company again.

Amazing experience in Mumbai

We were in Mumbai for few days and we wanted to get the best experience of this lively city. We decided for this trip and we definetely recommend it! We choose English speaking local guide. His name was Abhishek. He is really kind, smart and positive person. He has a huge knowledge about India history and culture. He guided us through the whole trip so we felt safe (we were 3 women on this trip only). He told us interesting story about Mumbai and the most important buildings here. Fascinating and eye opening tour of Dharavi

We initially had had reservations and ethical concerns about doing a tour of the slum. However, our driver explained and recommended a guide for us. Ruqaiyya gave us a very knowledgeable 2 hour walking tour and our experience of seeing Dharavi up close, she exolained it as more a close knit community of immigrants and workers than the negative connotation that comes with the word slum. We saw a community recycling, industry, working together in close proximity in tough conditions. A eye opening and fascinating glimpse into a world we wouldn't normally have access to. Definitely recommend.

This was a very real experience. Coming from the UK it was quite amazing to see how people live in Dharavi. One can imagine it but it really is something else, at times we felt quite uncomfortable but only because of how privileged our lives seem in comparison, but everyone we met was so kind and friendly. In particular our guide Ruqaiyya who is a resident of Dharavi, spoke such good English and was very knowledgeable about life there and it’s history. We learned so much from her. Very friendly and thoughtful and made us feel very welcome. I wish her all the success for her bright future!

Great impression of Dharavi, excellent tour guide

We got a great impression of Dharavi. Our tour guide Ruqaiyya explained the little details from all the various shops and how the industrial Dharavi with it’s leather factory, barber shops, dying clothes, plastic recycling and much much more is the beating heart of Mumbai. But the best part was that she hit my father for a six out of the park 😁!
