The food selection was varied, unique and tasty. My only complaint and why I have given the tour a 4 star review is our guide did not wait for the majority of slower guests. We even lost her once after descending multiple stairs from the train station. It would be helpful if in the tour a description the amount of stairs and walking were described. Mumbai is hot and muggy and if individuals have any health or mobility issues this is not a tour for them.

Such an incredible tour. Couldn’t be happier we chose to do it! Our guide Pooja was SO amazing - explained everything so clearly and enthusiastically. Amazing food (perfect amount) and was all delicious. Also a great general tour and information about the city was super interesting. 10/10 would love to go again!!

Great Dive into Mumbai Street Food with The Best Guide

Easy to find meet up location at Ideal Corner Restaurant. Pooja was my guide and she was fantastic. Explained each dish, what it was and how it was eaten in everyday Mumbai. When it would be eaten and how it fitted into everyday life. Also the history of the place we were getting the food from, many of which had been owned and operated by the same family for several generations. I highly rated Pooja as a guide and would recommend her to anyone. The food was all delicious. I cannot think of a single thing I ate that I did not enjoy. How to eat a proper Kerala meal and the use of fennel and sugar as an after meal breath freshener were some of the solid tips I learned on the way. This tour is a fantastic way to get out onto the streets of Mumbai and eat like a local. You will not regret it. Make sure to request Pooja as your guide!

Great tour for foodies!

Great tour. But would have liked it to be a smaller group cause could hardly hear the guide. Otherwise phenomenal tour for foodies.

First time in Mumbai

We enjoyed this tour immensely. Our guide gave us so much history about the food and the city. We had a wonderful time going around Mumbai visiting many food stalls and restaurants. We had food we have never had, it was very safe and we enjoyed getting to sightsee Mumbai. Overall this food tour was safe, professional and very enjoyable. We would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Mumbai. This tour takes care of you and allows you to immerse yourself in local Mumbai cuisine.

Lovely food tour

What a lovely tour going to many interesting places and good choices of food. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Nice to be able to try the street food and not worrying about anything because the spots were carefully chosen.

Yummy Food

Pooja was our guide and and did a wonderful job with many savoury food tastings and one sweet tasting at Parsi dairy with a sweet curd. The only thing I would add is another sweet tasting like jalebi or a kessar pista.

So much yummy food!

Really lovely combination of foods across a few hours and let me say - go hungry! No need to eat at all the whole day before the tour starts at 4pm. Pooja? was a lovey host and was a nice way to see a few sights along the way and jump on the train (only a short trip). I’d recommend this trip solo or with family/friends.

Best tours in Mumbai!

Pooja did an amazing tour with us! We got to experience the local eateries while Pooja explained the history of the area. We went with our 6 year old and he also enjoyed the experience! Highly recommend!

Tasty treats on the streets of Mumbai

We had the most wonderful four hours with Pooja, exploring the back streets of Mumbai and eating the most delicious food. It was great fun, we learnt loads, and devoured lots of tasty treats. For those worried about eating street food, don’t be. We flew home the next day - very happy, healthy and desperate to get back for more.

A must do if in Mumbai!!

All the food places we visited on the tour with incredible. The tour is also extremely informative and we felt as though we learned so much. Poojah, the tour guide is a lovely woman. She even took the train back to our hostel with us and we felt as though she gave us such an authentic experience. Thank you so much Poojah! One we will not forget.

Heaven for food lovers

Very nice Tour with lots of tasty Indian food. Our guide Fudjah did introduce all snacks and after she fed us up we parted still savouring the incredible taste of India. Highly recommend this tour for food lovers

Great street food experience

Pooja had a great energy and made this a memorable experience. We got a great insight into life as a local & sampled so many delicious street foods. This tour was an experience, gave you confidence to sample more street food in the future. Everything was well organised & safe.

A vibrant night's exploration and delicious food to experience.

Mogan our guide, was a real foody. His love of flavours and the stories of locals and their history made this a wonderful tour of Mumbai. Some vendors were from generations preparing and cooking in the same locations. Hygeine and cleanliness was carefully considered in choices of venues. The group was guided well through the streets, and on the train to explore other restaurants at sunset. On and off tuk-tuks it was buzzy and fun!

Excellent experience

Our lovely guide Puja did a great job explaining to us the various types of street food available in Mumbai, as well as the story behind them, and introduced us to the communities, which brought some of the food to the city. Puja been most kind, very attentive and always helpful during our entire tour and I would like to thank her wholeheartedly once again.

Food tour in Mumbai is a must

Our guide was very friendly and explained everything for the food we had during the tour, but I feel that 2 out of 7 food stops were really unnecessary. We could have had much more interesting street food than Parsi yoghurt (sweet curd). Otherwise, the experience was very good as we also got on a local train, we walked through the court area which is very nice. Also, the guide made sure that we are safe during the tour.

Come hungry!!

WOW! My husband and I did this tour and we had the most incredible time. We can’t say enough good things about our amazing guide, Mogan. He was so informative, kind, and fun. The food was absolutely incredible. We highly recommend you book this tour!

To be recommended. We loved walking around, experiencing new parts of hustling Mumbai as much as tasting the delcious food… and we felt enterteined and taking care of by our guide, Pooja.

Absolutely amazing, food was fabulous, the guide was informative and very good at what she did. A great cross section of Mumbai street food all very safe and definitely a great experience. One tip, arrive very very hungry as there are a lot of tastings, you will not go hungry. Can highly recommend

Definitely recommend!

I would highly recommend this tour! We were a family group of all ages and everyone loved the experience. Pooja was an incredible guide, so knowledgeable and patient. This is the perfect way for tourists to have the confidence to try street food and there was a great variety of dishes to try.

So Fun! So Delicious!

What an amazing tour! So fun, so delicious and so informative. As a tourist, especially one that doesn’t speak the language, it’s hard to feel like you’re experiencing anything like real life in a place you visit. And while this food tour isn’t like a living a normal day as a citizen of Mumbai, you do get the sense you’re eating and experiencing the real food that the locals eat, as they eat it and where they eat it. It’s also designed around visitor needs for bottled water, which we also appreciated - you can rest assured you’re eating street food that won’t make you sick. All of it explained and enriched by Pooja’s warm, thoughtful and opinionated (in the best sense!) commentary. If I had one complaint it was only that there was a little too much great food. You really do need to come hungry - don’t eat that whole day beforehand (if you can)! A truly talented tour guide can meet each of their guests where they’re at. My wife, myself and my 8-year-old daughter all loved it!!! In particular, she integrated our kiddo into the tour, patiently answering her questions and indulging her. By the end they were best friends, without sacrificing the integrity of the tour.

What a great tour!

What a great tour! From a thali served on a banana leaf, to snacks from street vendors and a train journey to sample dessert, all lead by Mogan our guide who talked us through the food, culture and sites of Mumbai. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and the whole experience, and would definitely recommend doing this. Just remember to pitch up hungry!

Amazing exploration of Bombay's food!

The absolute highlight of my stay in Bombay. The guide was a gem, group size very comfortable, an unbeatable insider view on the neighbourhood, and, wow, sooo much good food! Thank you so much for a great experience!

Good variety and overview of different cuisines found in Mumbai.

Pooja gave us a good experience of historic eateries which was great. We enjoyed the street food in particular as it is not always easy as tourists to know what and where to try. We enjoyed the variety and Pooja’s explanations about each dish and how to best eat it.

Simply delicious

Mogan is a great and knowledgeable guide. We had so many great things to taste. Come very very hungry, this is a lot of food.

NO trip to MUMBAI would be complete without this TA chapter

SO! First time in MUMBAI,India, just came in from Scotland. We were met by TA’s CHEF AMBASSADOR, POOJA right on time. She whisked us off ( two couples) for an insider’s gastronomic walking tour. These are the kinds of places only a local would know. Great fun, expertly paced, we were well guided through quaint neighborhood time tested establishments. Cleanliness and public safety were always on POOJA’s radar. Savory dishes we had only seen in guide books! Great locally made cuisine germain to MUMBAI topped of with a visit to a cultural landmark ice cream parlor. 4-6pm, cool of the day ending with the gorgeous city temples and stations lit in dazzling lights. TA STREET FOOD with POOJA, not to be missed

Yummy!!!!

This food tour was amazing! Pooja and the organising staff were so attentive. All the visits were hygienic and safe Mostly tour of women I have an allergy of an ingredient that is commonly used in Indian cooking. The organising staff made sure I was aware of what to expect. Pooja checked with every dish and asked to remake without the ingredient where she could. I did not miss out on anything. We tried about 12 dishes of the best food I have ever had, we left so full and happy! Wanted to do it again on the next night Highly recommend

Great food variety and explanations

This tour had excellently curated food stops, not all street food but a good balance. The pace of the tour was a little slow but there is plenty of food and context for each. Well done, Pooja, and would recommend to anyone looking to enjoy all that Mumbai has to offer!

Pooja was a great tour guider, this was not only a food tour, this was a culture tour, we saw temples, learned how the locals communicate with drivers, and of course food, this was a good experience

I Had a Blast!

The food was treated great, and we stopped at maybe 10-15 different places. Sooja was very knowledgeable, she explained about the food ingredients/preperation/how to eat it as well as some history of for example the Persians who were exiled into India then started the restaurants where we ate at. Very impressed. 11/10!

Great Tour with Pooja

Pooja was an awesome tour guide, there was so much food and it was all really unique and interesting, would highly recommend.

Good experience with some opportunity for improvement

Overall, thought the tour was pretty good and gave us ample opportunity to get to know the tour operator and the other members on the tour (would highly recomend to solo travelers!) That being said, I wish there was a bit wider food selection (wish we had tried a few more street food options) and a little bit more knowledge on the history of the food and their location within Mumbai (we had a little bit of this towards the end but wish we had more of that throughout the tour!) Assuming they can move forward with this feedback, I would definitely recommend!

Such high hopes but left disappointed

I had such high hopes about the tour but it did not meet my expectations. Our tour guide was supposed to be Pooja, whom I have read lots of positive reviews about, but at the last minute, I found out it was changed to Jayshree. Jayshree was very nice but was not able to provide historical context nor explain what we were eating. We were just led from one place to the next. There were also a number of foods in previous tour photos that we did not get to try. Left rather disappointed in the end.

The best experience for safe authentic food in Mumbai

All the food was amazing and Pooja was so kind and helpful. She shared so much knowledge with us as we went along and gave us so many different foods we never would have tried. We had no issues with any sickness from any of the food. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an authentic safe food experience in Mumbai.

We thoroughly enjoyed this food tour! Pooja Madan Khathuria did an excellent job of introducing us to Indian dishes, as well as, some history of Mumbai. We went to restaurants, but most of the experience was eating street food at various vendors. I highly recommend participating in this food tour when you visit Mumbai!

Great tour to try lots of food!

Pooja gave us a great experience on our food tour! Not only did we try many different foods we probably wouldn’t have encountered/tried ourselves, we also got a great insight into Indian culture and Mumbai way of life. We were so full by the end of the tour, great variety of restaurants and street food!

Varied, interesting and delicious

Great food tasting with information on the history and culture of the area. The tour included some more substantial meals in restaurants and lots of smaller bits to taste from various food stalls through the markets of Mumbai. Our guide Pooja was brilliant and I'd recommend this to anyone that wants an authentic and varied mumbai food experience.
