Beautiful views from the peak and a thrilling walk from peak to peak

Gondola ride to Glacier 3000 was a great thrill. After three Gondola rides, we arrived at the upper station. Our walk up to the peaks, across the "Tissot Peak Walk" suspension bridge, was greeted with severe blowing which made the walk more memorable and thrilling. As we timed the visit to the early hours of the day the place was less crowded. All around were fantastic ski fields. Suspension bridge, was rather narrow but was the bliss of this tour. It was a thrill to walk across this slightly bouncy construction to reach the second peak. The panorama from the summit at glacier 3000 was breathtaking.

Most beautiful place

One of the best place I have ever visited. The peak walk is breathtaking. It has the highest Alpine coaster which I loved.

Great way for a fast visit to the Vaud Alps

Our chilly visit happened just after the first two snows of the fall if 2023. It was rather cold, but the sunshine was provided some warmth. Whether it was the cold or lateness in the fall we had very few other visitors up there at the Skybridge during our visit. The bridge itself is quite narrow which makes passing other tourist rather touchy. The bridge also sways and bounces depending on the number of individuals on it. Those are minor inconveniences compared to the "Instagrammers" who try to hog the big for their personal photo shoot. Can't imagine what this place would be like during a busy summer day!

Glacier 3000 is a MUST do if you visit the Montreux area. We also recommend the Alpine coaster when there!

Stunning views, can't rely on things being open

We went as a family of 4 from Geneva. We booked the dog sled ride as extra online. We had booked for Saturday but got a call on Friday from the dog sled co to say it would have to be cancelled due to poor visibility. Thankfully we were able to move our booking to Sunday. The weather and views are stunning - blue skies and crisp white snow. The Peak Walk has amazing views. However, the Ice Express ski lift was closed as it was too cold, apparently. There is no way to check this - the webcam showed glorious blue skies. This all meant we couldn't do the dog sled or the glacier walk (both require going down the ski lift). We found this out as we went to go for the skil lift. We had no indication it would be cancelled and still haven't heard from the dog sled co about a refund (no answer when we called). So all we could do is the Peak Walk. 2/3 things closed (plus we knew the two rides were closed). Montreux Christmas Market on the way back was OK, but very, very busy. It made the whole trip extremely expensive and very poor value for money. On the basis that there is no guarantee that anything will be open, we can't recommend it - it's too big a risk leaving a 13 and 15 year and 2 parents very disappointed.

RIP OFF! BEWARE! CHECK THE WEB CAMS FIRST BECAUSE THE TICKET SELLERS WON'T TELL YOU ABOUT IT!

The ticket seller was very misleading with what we could do. We were told that the price of entry included all those listed in the brochure. She did not direct us to the web cam to let us see what it was like at the top. When we arrived nothing was visible - all we saw were clouds and other than the self-service restaurant nothing was open. No point in going to the peak to see the view because all that was visible were clouds. A definite rip off - two people and almost 200CHF spent for essentially nothing. A responsible ticket seller would advise people that nothing would be visible from the top or direct them to the web cam so they could make an informed choice instead of letting them spend a lot of money to look at mist. When we descended and spoke to the ticket seller about how disappointed we were, her only response was, "You should have looked at the web cam." - Difficult to do if you didn't know about it ahead of time. I am sure this adventure is great on a clear day, but this lack of customer service left us with a sour taste in our mouths. We will definitely not be back and we won't be recommending the experience to anyone else.

Mountain experience

We visited in May so the ski season was over. The mountain was not very busy. We bought tickets on the day and it was expensive for a family of four. I think there is discount if you buy online in advance. The cable cars take you up quickly and it is a great ride with stunning views. When you get to the top you have to go through the shop to reach the other areas. We went up to the bridge walk first. We took it slowly but still found it an effort to climb the stairs and a little short of breath. We found out after there is a lift but it was not clearly marked. The bridge itself is excellent with 360 degree mountain views. The telescopes are free rather than coin-op and label the peaks you can see. It is obviously very high and for some this may be scary. My youngest refused to cross and waited on the first peak while we did the bridge. Next we went to the restaurant which you enter through an unmarked door. It was self service, expensive and not much on offer. I don't know if it is because it was out of season or late in the day, but we managed to get the last hot food and sandwiches. Tables were not cleared or cleaned and staff showed no interest in serving or clearing. Next we took the chairlift down to the snowfield. At this time the majority of visitors are not skiers and are not used to chairlifts. People could have used some attention from the attendant to tell them where to stand and how to get on, even to pause the lift when needed. Unfortunately the attendant stayed in his cabin and mostly ignored visitors. He did shout something at us in French but no idea what he said. At thr bottom there is a large area of wet snow and like all the visitors we were in 'town' shoes and trainers, not boots. It was slippery and wet. The area they call 'fun park' is same wet snow with a few basic snow slide seats., not sledges as advertised. These are the bum-sized sliders you get in the pound shop in winter and they are rubbish. My sons had been very excited to go sledging but one try on these things left them angry and one in tears. How much better it would have been to have good sledges. Even the cheap plastic ones would have done the job. They would have been able to put their feet in and ride without wet snow getting inside their clothing. For the price of the tickets, this seemed cheap and disappointing. We didn't try the toboggan track as we have done this in other places but it looked like good fun. They charge extra as well which is mean when we have paid over £200 to be there. Overall we enjoyed the visit but it could have been much better. It is too expensive and the staff were unwelcoming. But we got to the top of the mountain, saw great scenery, crossed the wire bridge, rode in cable car and chairlift and walked in some wet snow...

Great day out

Glacier 3000 is easy to get to from gstaad, I took bus 180 from the train station and it took about 40 mins to get there. I got day pass which included the cable car rides and access to the watch souvenir shop, ice express which is the ski lift, glacier walk, viewpoint and peak walk. The views from the top are stunning and this place is definitely worth a visit. I was lucky to visit on a beautiful sunny day and was rewarded by stunning vistas all round. The return bus tickets cost 22 chf and the day pass was 65 chf.

Disappointed

Ticket booth did not want to discount for seniors as the self ticket kiosk showed, $80 per adult to ride up to peak, walk across the peak and ride the ski lift. dog sledding was not available, no toboggan sleds available or in site at the "fun park . If there was some place we were suppose to get those at there was no-one to direct/ help us except on the ski lifts. I wish i would have read the reviews before spending the $32 train/bus tickets + $80 for an hr worth of rides/ walks. WISH i knew how to ski and maybe it would be worth that for a day not an hr.

So worth the visit!!

This was stunning! The walk was so fun… windy and cold but worth it for the views! We had beautiful weather and could see the Matterhorn! And many other peaks and valleys! The gondola up was well done and the folks there so nice! We rode the ski lift down to take the snow cat out on the glacier! Then we did the sledding and walked on the glacier! Finally we ended up at the restaurant! Delicious food!

Brrrr... Cold and Blood chilling = very exciting

If you are traveling to Switzerland in summer don't forget to provide yourself winter there :-). First - in order to get to Glacier 3000, you have to drive via serpentine roads among mountains to the heigh of 1500-2000. The way itself is spectacular and a little be nerving but it is worth it for sure. Don''t forget to check the weather on top cause you for sure will need warm clothing getting up. We've been doing there from Lausanne where the temperature was +26. When we came to the point with huge cable car, the temperature was +15. On top it was only +6. Before visiting check the web-cameras (on the webpage of Glacier.3000 you can easy do that) but don't forget that on top clouds are moving as traffic in India - very chaotic and unpredictable so not all the time the view fully be available for you. But this is not about the view itself. Definitely take Peak Walk by Tissot, bring among picks and Alpine Roller. Also on top there are good restaurants and good meals but we did our lunch downstairs in a very good local restaurant with spectacular view on mountains.

Great views, Peak Walk fun as not very busy. Bobsleigh extra at 9CHF - worth it.

You need good weather to have the views. We did. It wasn’t busy. Cable car x 2 almost empty. Peak walk is fun and good photo opportunities. Lots of steps to get up there but my 81 year old Dad did it. Also did the Bobsleigh which was over too quickly but good fun. Bus and train to cable car station very efficient and scenic. We got the bus back to Gstaad and had a wander then the Golden train back to Montreux. Good circular route.

A breathtaking -- but very expensive -- experience

We went to experience the Glacier 3000 in Aug 21 -- we were lucky enough to have sunny weather, so our experience was very good while benefiting from decent temperature. The infrastructure is very good -- it takes around 15 mins to go with cable car from the valley to the peak (parking is free). The peak walk is fabulous -- with breathtaking views. It may sounds like a challenge to cross but in fact that's pretty easy and certainly safe. The Alpine Coaster nearby is just very funny. The Glacier Walk is not that funny : in summer time, the snow is melting and it gets very difficult to just walk - to cross the glacier to the Refuge L'Espace it takes around 90 mins ... The restaurant is very nice - with self-service or with on table service. With all of that, I am still rating 'very good' and not excellent because the prices are far too expensive. For 3 adults and 1 kind, we paid 280 CHF (Swiss francs) for the cable car. The Alpine Coaster costs 9 CHF per person - so for a 2 people drive (like a kid and a dad) it costs 18 CHF. So it can results to a very expensive day -- even not taking into account the food and beverages which can also be pretty expensive. I know that the infrastructure has a cost, but still, I find it a bit expensive, especially for families. All-in-all, a "must-do" activity in the region, but be prepared to pay for it.

Not without its challenges in summer

I give it four stars but for reasons beyond the control of the efficient safety conscious organisation just so visitors are aware that Mother Nature will decide your level of en enjoyment. Unfortunately we had a lot of cloud later in the day on what was an ideal summer temperature.It thus did not provide much of a vista over the peak skywalk but you got the idea and can only admire this engineering feat The glacial walk is basically flat with some undulations and under normal conditions would be a hard packed snow surface but currently is heavy soft snow where your shoes will disappear before your eyes.It is not to understate quite challenging if your have any mobility issues and even some limited exercise tolerance.

On top of it all

This place is a spot I always recommend. It’s perfect and impressive. I also recommend the Alpine Coaster for the families. If you are lucky, Freddy and Luca are in charge and you will have the best and coolest security advices and briefing.

Peak walk and ice cave

A visit is definitely worth it in winter, you just have to have very warm clothes, proper shoes, gloves, scarf etc. We went with some friends and they were wearing jeans and decided to be inside the restaurant because it was too cold for them outside. It was the first week of January. We paid around 60 CHF because there was a voucher on a site called qoqa. We took two cable cars and arrived to the top, then you need to climb some stairs outside to get to the bridge. I was dying, it was so exhausting. It is not a lot of stairs but the cold makes it worse. We took nice photos. To check the ice cathedral, you take a small gondola. I was afraid at first but you have a protection grid and it goes very slowly. Then you walk a bit and you can take a photo with the sign Glacier 3000 and then you go inside the ice cathedral or better call it an ice cave. You go there at your own risk. Inside it is very dark but your eyes will get used to it after some time. It did not feel cold inside the cave. But it can be very slippery so be very careful. And to get out of it you also have to be sporty and fit to climb on the snow to get back up. Then we took the gondola again and had fondue at the restaurant which was still open. At 4.30 PM we took the last cable car down. A great experience!

One of the best experience!

It was one of the best experience! Was there in Dec 2019 and it was snowing and the wind was quite strong. Super cold but we brave the coldness and went up to Glacier 3000. Parking is available at the bottom near to the ticketing counter, the excited already started from the cable car ride with an amazing view. But it's even amazing once you reach the peak. The peak walk was quite scary that day as the wind was very strong. But you have to cross as it was out of the world experience. Maybe not for people who are afraid of height. Hand warmers are available to purchase in the retail shop for those who are going in winter and scare of cold. Food at the Glacier 3000 is slightly costly but its expected for a tourist attraction. Would recommend for a spectacular view of the alps!

OMG thank you glacier 3000

OMG. If you are around this place you need to see this. Unbelievable what it is and how it’s built. The peak walk will blow you. People with acrophobia should definitely avoid this walk between the bridge connecting two cliffs. We did the alpine roller coaster several times. Each time with more speed and high confidence. And last but not the least the Glacier.you walk on it. It’s several hundred years old glacier and offers a long and amazing walk. The feeling of touching something that old is unbelievable.

day of joy

We planned our trip on a cloudless sunny day. So when we arrived with the cable cart on top it was warm and every mountaintop in the area was visible. Not for the faint hearted, but the walk on the bridge is mind blowing. take the ski lift down to enjoy the snow and for the kids to play on the ramp with snow sleds. take the hike tour and before you know the day is over. Tip. use suncream on top .recommend it to everyone

Astonishing view of the Alps

Pick a sunny day and head to Glacier 3000. There is a free parking at the bottom of the station. The ride up is fun with the cable car. You need to change in the middle for another cabin to reach the summit. We went in the summer. On the top you can visit the Peak Walk, a bridge that will bring you to almost 3'000 meters. The view is really spectacular. There are some binoculars with the name of the mountains surrounding you. You can then go down with the ice lift chair, included in the price, and walk the 2km to "la Quille du Diable" and Refuge l'Espace. It's an easy walk on the snow. It's not sporty, it's a great adventure as a family trip with kids. There are plenty of picnic tables and you can buy food and drinks at the Glacier 3000 station, or at Refuge l'Espace. It was quit hot when we went, but it can easily be cold at 3000m. Bring a jacket.

Best day ever

We had a lovely day with great weather. Breathtaking views. Fun in the funpark. Long walks watching a plane land, many skiers of all shapes. Picnic at the Glasier walk with nice hot chocolate

What a day..!!

We arrived after a heavy snowfall the night before and could not see everything until cleared but well worth the wait!! Restaurant for lunch and it was fantastic and the service was brilliant! Cheese fondue to die for. Did glacier walk, peak to peak and had 5/6 hours of amazing views. Well worth the price!!

Grat place also for a walk not only for skiers

We spent there almost whole day. In the middle od march there where lots of snow. Kids could play un the snow, there were sledges avaliable. Due to beautiful weather views were amazing. Delicious restaurant at the top with of course views on all Alps. Must to see for all who visit this area.

Perfect day full of adventure with our two kids!!

My husband, myself, and our two kids (ages 6 and 7) recently visited Glacier 3000 during our trip to Switzerland and had an amazing experience with them! We stayed in Gstaad the night before and it was about a 30-minute bus ride up to the base of the cable lift. We got our lift tickets quickly and were on our way up in no time! Once we arrived at the top, we headed straight down the chair lift to the main reason for our visit: dog sledding! It's normally suggested you make an appointment ahead of time, but there was a cancelation so our timing worked out perfectly. We were able to pay the musher directly (30chf pp) and took turns with our kids going around the loop multiple times. Afterward, our family got to spend time petting and loving on the dogs. We were the only family there so were able to take our time and never felt rushed. This was the highlight of my daughter's entire 10-day trip to Switzerland and something she is still talking about constantly!! If dog sledding is on our Switzerland bucket list, we'd definitely recommend making the trip up to Glacier 3000 just for that. There are only a few places in the whole country that offer it, and it was harder to find a company than I would have thought. After dog sledding, we headed up to the peak walk which was another highlight. It was extremely windy and cold the day we visited, so dress accordingly but don't let it stop you from experiencing all the amazing views from the top! Our kids felt so brave walking across the bridge and the panoramic views in every direction are definitely something we are so glad we experienced with our kids. Overall, our experience was wonderful and well worth the trip up!

Unforgettable Experience at Glacier 3000

We took a daytrip at Glacier 3000 from Geneva and were very happy for this unforgettable experience. We took the cable car twice and a lift to reached the Glacier walk and the Peak walk by tissot. It’s like a bridge connected from the 2 peaks , end to end by Tissot. This is an amazing experience. Beautiful sceneries , great to walk at the glacier walk and had so much fun. This trip is highly recommended.

Wow wow wow

One of the best day trips ever. Weather may have played a big role in the overall experience as it a beautiful/perfect weather day. Winds were calm and a sun was warm in the middle of a winter wonderland at 10,000 ft. We took the trains from Lausanne to Aigle, then Aigle to Les Diablerets, then the cable cars to the top. We had about a 30 minute wait in Les Diablerets for the bus to take us to the cable cars (about a 15 minute ride or very strenuous 1 hour walk). TAKE THE BUS! Like I said, the perfect weather made for an exceptional experience. The views were breathtaking and the skywalk was exhilarating, but safe. There are some stairs to climb, but it was not a very strenuous experience. The cable cars run every 20 minutes and the bus every hour, so, with good planning, you can time everything to allow a few hours at the top and not have to wait too long for transit. Do your homework and plan all of the logistics before hand. This is a great day trip that you will not soon forget.

Very scenic place with fun activities in the snow including a scintillating snow roller coaster

The place has much to offer 1. The view is scenic (from the Cliff walk) 2. The rides in the snow are fun. You can ride a sledge or take a roller coaster 3. A cable car takes you to the Glacier 3000 and thereafter, an open trolley to the snow area / fun zone 4. After the outdoor activities, you could refresh at the restaurant, which offers excellent (mouth watering) Indian food 5. Keep some time to roam the streets of Gstaad Tip- ensure that the weather is good (else no view from the Cliff)

Switzerland visit.

We had a beautiful, Sunshiny day to experience such beautiful place on Earth. Highly recommend for those entertaining such an adventure.

Awesome Views, Majestic mountains

The peak walk was a thrilling experience. The views all around were awesome. Be careful with the ice express chair lift with young children as it was unattended when I visited.

Incredible Experience

I was so worried about altitude illness before I left home, so I prepared myself with altitude powder 3 days before I went. No problems at all. Yes, you will feel winded climbing the steps to the footbridge to the peak but that’s just because you are so high up. Take your time. Bring gloves, winter coat and boots because there is snow. It snowed the day before we got there so it was fresh powder. I was surprised to see people in shorts, and tennis shoes. You can rent coats and boots if necessary. The gondola rides up were amazing. Then the ski lift ride to base camp is quite an experience. But nothing is more breathtaking than the walk to the peak. I felt so proud of myself and so overwhelmed with the beauty before me that I cried. Yup, I admit I had tears. The clouds were just perfect enough to see the Matterhorn in the distance. Wow. I rode the roller coaster and went as slow as possible, because I am a chicken. It was a great day at Glacier 3000. I’m so glad we went.

Perfect day

This was definitely a highlight from our recent trip to Switzerland. When you get to the base, there's loads of parking and not long to wait for the cable car: it runs every 20 minutes. Once up there, everything was incredible. We did the peak walk, alpine coaster and the glacier walk. The peak walk was a bit scary as it was a windy day but definitely worth it. The view from that side was unmissable. The alpine coaster was a lot of fun. You can set your speed so can go as fast or slow as you want, and winding through the hills was such a great experience. Finally the glacier walk. We didn't do it all because of timings but it was so refreshing to be there and walking around the glacier. We went in August and it was a bit cool, so would recommend long sleeves, wind breaker and good trainers for when you're up there. 2-3 hours is the recommended time to spend there.

Must see

If you’re in the area, this is a once in a life time experience. We visited in August and while there was no snow on the peak walk itself, it was very cold and there was snow on the peaks. Make sure you wear layers! Also i recommend going early in the morning to avoid crowds. We were in the first group to go up which was not crowded and relaxing. However, by the time we left the cable cars going up were packed. Worth it to get up early on this one

Spectacular view but priced

Glacier 3000 is amazing place (worth a visit) but unfortunately for 80CHF (75€) don’t expect more than just to go on the top take a peak walk and volia more less finish. There is some activities what u can do but they are not included in to your ticket price (disappointing). Suggestion .. visit only when the weather is clear otherwise your visit will be ruined. Very crowded place .. ADVICE to go in the morning or before 12 am because after its just impossible to enjoy view or even take a picture. Overall recommended to visit definitely. P.s to bring warmer clothes because even in the summer time on the top is around 15 degrees only.

Top location for a day out in the snow during summer

Glacier 3000 is in many respects in close competition with the Jungfraujoch in the Berner Oberland (which you can see for the peak :) ). Getting there is horrendously expensive for a family, but worth it. The trip is less spectacular, with the modern and comfortable cable car, but the view after the Tissot walk is probably more spectacular as far as the range of peaks you can see. It is worth passing the glacier for the view on the other side. While you might have better value for summer snow fun at the Jungfraujoch, the ride down from the cable car station to the glacier is a must do! Don't be afraid because you maintain full control over your "car" and once launched all stress disappears!

Well Worth a Visit

Visited with my wife and daughter on the 6th of July. We made the effort to get there for the first car going up at 9am, and I think that was a good idea. When we did the peak walk, we were the only ones on the bridge and got loads of time to take in the views in the most peaceful of surroundings. The weather was a bonus as is stayed clear the whole time we were up there. We also took in the toboggan run which was great fun and had lunch in the café/restaurant. The food was good but a bit pricey. However, not out of line with what you pay elsewhere in Switzerland. We were greeted with the most spectacular of views and I would highly recommend a visit

Third time's a charm

We tried to visit twice and was foiled by poor weather. Completely socked in by clouds in Early June when we visited. I was so disappointed, but rearranged our schedule and on the last day it was clear! We had the best time. Rode the alpine coaster, ski lift, sledded on the snow, and walked the Peak Walk. This was the highlight of our trip I think. You cannot beat the views. Perfect place to take kids or teens. So much fun. Worth every penny. Ate at the restaurant. Reasonable price and great staff.

Amazing place ! but you have to check the weather before going up !!!

This place can be amazing.However it has clouds moving in and out , and in the ticket office they will not tell you there is zero visibility you have to take a look at the web cams , making sure it is not cloudy before you go up be aware of this

Don't miss this place ont time in your life, it's so easy to go, so impressive and the place allow many other activities for all the family. The restaurant have a warm welcome, working people are happy and always take care of everybody ... we will come back

Spectacular view and price!

An excessive price not indicated by the tourist information office In Aigle who recommended the activity. Price is only partly justified by a number of activities included but their availability on the day is not guaranteed or indicated beforehand. It would be much fairer to have different prices according the activities you are interested in. For us, using only the cable car and going on the bridge was a ridiculous price to pay. I don’t really recommend unless you don’t care how big the whole in your wallet would be! We finally found out that there is a family card to get discounts on these kind of things that the Swiss keep it well hidden from tourists. Swiss you are not the only one having mountains, goodby!

Amazing experience!

Once you buy a Glacier 3000 Ticket from this website, you must go to Col du Pillon Cable Car station (15 min with a free bus from Les Diablerets) and change your printed (or mobile) ticket into a little ticket that you must scan to enter to Cable Car. When you are on the top, almost everything is FREE (Peak Walk by Tissot, Chair Lift, Glacier walk - AMAZING - and Glacier Fun Park). You should have sun glasses, because the light is very strong (sun + snow = blind :D ).

Spectacular

A spectacular attraction from the beginning to the end. An impressive and fast trip on the funicular the the top of the mountain with an amazing view of all the alps. Of course you have to be lucky or at least choose a nice and clear day.

Great experience

Really this experience is not to be missed. It was freezing cold when we visited Glacier 3000 in November, but the sun was out and the views on the Peak walk were absolutely stunning. A walk on the suspension bridge is not for people with fear of heights though! We also enjoyed a dog sled ride in this beautiful environment. We ate pasta at the self service restaurant, which was nothing special, but ok quality. The ride in the cable car itself is also worthwhile, because of the gorgeous views on the mountains and the lake. A highly recommended day trip!

amazing views, plenty of snow for skiing!

Perfect for all the family! The Peak walk gives you breathtaking views accross the Swiss Alps. There are loads of Sledges in Fun Park for the whole family and a great day out overall!
