A brilliant fun day out with amazing guides

Have an amazing fun day here at chukka. Started the day with tubing with Presi and Murph who were great fun. The patter didn’t stop the whole trip and this was a lovely relaxing pootle down the river with lots of laughs. We moved onto the zip lines next with (probably getting this all wrong and spelling them terribly) O’Shea, Taki and Kirk. I was really anxious going into this but they looked after us so well and made me feel really safe. Loved it! After a very brief rum tasting we finished on the rafts. A rum punch, a lovely foot rub and chilled reggae helped make this a blissful relaxing way to finish to the day. I was clearly too chilled as I can’t remember our pilots name - so sorry 🤦‍♀️ Highly recommend this for a day out, big thumbs up from everyone I spoke to that day. The activities are great but it’s the staff that really make the day. Big thanks to all 😘

Impressive first time experience

It was my first time being on a raft and tubing and I enjoyed the experience, immensely. The staff, not to mention the young men (Tour guides) were fantasitc.

Don’t recommend for Bamboo Rafting

I usually don’t write bad reviews but my experience with this company was not great! We booked the option for tubing, zip lining, and bamboo rafting. The activities were fun but we really wanted to do the bamboo rafting first while makeup was fresh for pictures. They made us to it last and then it started raining and they still tried to make us do the bamboo rafting in the rain! Also for the bamboo it’s very short! They take you 5 min away and turn around! Next time I would book the bamboo separately and not with this company.

An incredible day for the family

My family and I had such an amazing time! Even though it was a hot day, being able to get in the water was refreshing, especially for the kids. Deshaun was amazing on the zipline and Owen was incredible with the river tubing.

You won't regret it

Enjoyed every experience. The guides were fun and entertaining. Be prepared to hike up in the jungle and swing- jump into the water. Life vest are provided. The river rafting was so relaxing, along with the river tubing. You will do it all with this package

Chukkka excursions

The workers there was great! The tour guide for the tubing was funny and made it great. Zip lining was really fun they made us feel comfortable and they are well trained, the river rafting was great as well. We didn’t get to do the rum tour though we paid for it because they said we missed it. But the way they have things setup there is no true structure and itenary to follow. There was a lot of waiting around between things, it was hot and they didn’t offer water you had to buy it which I believe is wrong for such busy place they make enough money to atleast offer guest water in that heat. Lastly the food was very basic and not good for what we paid for with ultimate package the food needs to be better. I would have given a 5 star but couldn’t because of these reasons. Also the vans that pick you up from the hotel are so small and very uncomfortable

Zip lining & Tubing; well worth it!

Curt and Jermaine were awesome! They navigated us through the zip lines and made every moment fun! The tubing was a great experience as well! Wished the service was better at the bar but overall a great experience.

Fun and relaxing

Our raft captain was Keniel (SupaBlacks). He was considerate, courteous and congenial. He was also educational and very polite. It was the most pleasant and relaxing experience of the day. We had drinks, and sugar cane and limestone foot massage. I highly recommend the tour and him as the tour guide. Levaughn was in charge of the zip line tour and he was fun and shared a bit of history with us too. I admire how good these gentlemen are at their jobs. Definitely recommend for a fun filled adrenaline packed day

Great last day in Jamaica

Booked the rafting but ended up doing the zip line and tubbing instead because the river was unsafe due to heavy rain. We had a great experience the guides were fun but professional and safety conscious at the same time. A nice day and a nice setting which made a change from the beach/pool. Lockers were an additional $10 which is ridiculous to be honest give the price of the experience and you will need full footwear to do the zip line so be prepared.

Fun

We did the zip lining and tubing with lunch included package. I had a hard time remembering our guides name from tubing, so in the pictures I have him there. The tour guide was funny/informative/respectful. We had a wonderful time overall.

Chukka Sandy Bay double activity

Be prepared for almost 10 hours to do two hours and 15 minutes of real activity. We did Bamboo rafting and Catamaran snorkeling. They picked us up at 6:50AM and dropped us back at 4:45pm! A LOT of wait time in-between. The Bamboo rafting with limestone massage was 45 minutes. The Great river is beautiful with crystal clear water, colorful pebbles, and a green canopy. So peaceful and moving. The limestone massage was good. Then a lunch and long wait time. The property is well kept. Has an infinity pool too. Catamaran cruise was one and half hours. Half the time for snorkeling and half for music and dancing with drinks/beverages. Then more wait time for return. The bus back was crammed with people sitting even in the aisle. Still, it was an enjoyable experience. Do more activities as you anyway have to spend the whole day for return, or find your way back if that is possible. It's an hour from Montego Bay.

Horrible experience. They only want your money!

My husband and I did rating with Odell Miller. The rafting excursion was perfect & Odell was so generous and down to Earth. He gave us a ton of knowledge about the different plants/ agriculture we saw on our ride down the river. The massage was chill & he captured some amazing photos of us! The problem we had was with transport back to our hotel. We paid $100pp for this excursion and arrived at 12pm. We were told we could leave on the 2pm bus or the 5pm bus after the tour. We got back just before 2pm & were told we could not leave because they did not have have enough buses to accommodate the amount of people leaving @ 2pm. People became irate as they had other plans and needed to go back to their resorts. Even the workers began to argue and fight with one another in front of us! I definitely feel like a refund of half our funds should have been given. I would not recommend this service to anyone. The workers were even arguing with the customers & becoming combative. They then begin to make us all go inside this outdoor center to "count us" after 30 minutes of waiting & this caused and elderly lady to pass out from the heat & fall on the ground due too so many people! We were finally put onto a bus at 2:45p with various other resort ppl causing even more stops on the way back. This experience was very poor & we could yell they didn't care about us, just penny pinching to make the most money from us. They didn't even offer complimentary lunch or drinks while we waited! In conclusion, go rafting with another company. There are several in Jamaica. This service was very distasteful & unorganized. If Odell had his own rafting experience, I would book directly with him! Avoid the big name "CHUKKA".

Nasty

It’s was very nasty there and smell like pissed.and attitude from some workers and also didn’t want to give us ours rum taste

Bring your wallet

Not as beautiful as the pictures. No coconut drink. You get a rum punch in a disposable cup on the bamboo raft. Some tour guides were friendly, others just seemed miserable and barely smiled. Everyone is asking for tips and I mean EVERYONE. It was very hard to enjoy yourself when you kept getting hounded for more money the whole time. We had 5 minutes to eat lunch before getting dragged to the next excursion. The pool looked beautiful but by the time we were done it was closed. I understand tourism is one of Jamaicas main source of income so I tried to keep that into consideration. Being from Canada and everything being American dollars added up quickly. The tour was very expensive and every driver, tour guide (sometimes you had 5 depending on what excursion) wanted money. With the amount of money they are asking for these tours they really should pay their employees more so tourists aren’t expected to pay even more in gratuity. Tried to just hold back the tears and enjoy what I could.

Go somewhere else

They dont communicate with you, and the bus will leave you without communicatin.. i was so upset when they left us! Driver didnt even wait for couple of minutes to make sure everyone is in the bus! Go somewhere else.

Outstanding Experience

A big thank you to Earl, Wayne, Anthony and the rest of the Chukka crew for making our time today a very memorable one. Zip lining exceeded our expectations, the lunch was delicious and the tubing was very relaxing. These guys did their best to make sure everybody stayed safe and had a great time. I only wish we would’ve had more time to swim and ride the water slide, maybe next time….

Bamboo river rafting is a must do! Lennox is the best

We chose to do zip lining and the bamboo river rafting. The chukka outpost property was beautiful! Could spend all day there as they have an infinity pool, DJ, multiple bars, gift shop, lunch provided. The zip lining was okay but The bamboo river rafting was breathtaking and not something you want to pass up! The views were immaculate. You get a complimentary bottle of champagne, a fresh coconut and a limestone massage. The limestone they use comes from the river. Highly recommend requesting Lennox as your tour guide. He is a Rastafarian herbalist that taught us about the different plants and their uses, gave us a fresh bamboo straw to take home. Lennox is an amazing person and we were so lucky to have him as our guide. The energy he gives off is truly amazing. I walked away feeling spiritually revived and almost in tears from the beauty of nature and his soul. All the tour guides at the chukka outpost including raft guides accept tips so bring money to tip!

Not worth the money

We booked the river rafting with foot massage through our hotel Bahia Principe. The charge was $109. It was a long ride to begin with but fine. We got there and went on a 45 min raft ride which was nice. The foot “massage” was limestone rubbed on our feet and up to our knees, no massage, just let it dry and was rinsed off. Then they said you could buy it - a bag, of I’m not sure how much, was quoted as $40. We passed. We left our hotel at 8:30ish and arrived around 20 after picking up others and the long ride. After rafting was over at 11ish, we had to stay until our ride went back at 2. They had a pool and water slide we could use but food and drinks were additional. My husband ordered a Long Island and it was horrible, not even close. Granted it is Jamaica but when he asked for something different they said he had to pay and were actually kind of rude. Riverside Bar. The rafting was not worth $109 alone and we weren’t told we would be staying hours after the rafting. Lunch and one drink should have been included for that price.

Was an awesome experience, zip line was AMAZING 😝special shout out to Dwayne and Nick, Tubing was also fun 🤩 with Oshein, rafting was good too, can’t forget the rum tasting A1😂 big up Alanco and the food was great special shout out to our waitress Patrecia😊definitely thinking about returning. Not an enjoyable day out

The bamboo rafting was lovely but the tubing was very limp and a complete waste of money. In addition we were told we could stay and use the pools, slide and waterfalls as well as buy lunch. There was no food left to buy and the staff were very aggresive telling us the transport was going back to the hotel and that we had to leave immediately. Some people had to get out of the water and travel back in wet costumes with a towel round them. It was an excessive US$ 10 to hire a small locker and staff were very determined to get tips for any little thing. Not recommended.

Captain D was amazing!!

Don't bring your phone of the tubes because you have the option to get in the water 💗 but for ziplining and the rafting you can totally bring your phone worry free from getting wet. Your picture opportunities will be amazing!!! Great guides, very fun and helpful. I wish I would have had cash for tipping or even for the locker which is $10 but they are padlocked and there are changing areas if you want to change. Beautiful area!! The lime stone foot massage was sooo amazing. Got to try sugar cane because there are a couple of "venders" on the sides of the creek and our raft man caption D grabbed some for us!! So relaxing and just beautiful I can't say it enough 💓

Great time

Had a great peaceful time on the water. Our guide was funny, nice and knowledgeable. It was obvious that they took pride in what they do.

Zip line, 1700s Plantation, Rum tasting

Very disorganized and little was explained. We were to have zip line, 1700s plantation and rum tasting tour. Shuttle was late picking us up and once we got to the facility, were told to wait in one spot, although we would have a few mins to look around. No tour or any information about plantation or rum tasting. Waited for maybe 30 mins to be geared up for zip line, and after, mass confusion waiting for shuttle back to ship. Of the 4 1/2 hr tour that we expected, other than zip line, it was spent ‘waiting’. Zip line, however, was awesome and guides OShane, Ernesto and Earl did a fine job. Best part of the ‘tour’. Upon leaving, no one mentioned the photos taken during zip lining, and amid the confusion and short window because everything was late, left without the opportunity to view or purchase. Lost income to chukka - need better organization and to be on time so folks can get what they paid for.

Would do again

The people are excellent and super friendly. My wife and I did the ultimate package, and it felt like the events were rushed. I wish they had been a little longer and dedicated more time to each activity. But the friendliness of the people does make up for it. The E-Bike tour was the best.

Fantastic Zip Wire

So today we went to Chukka Good Hope, we booked for bamboo rafting which was nice, cld have been a bit longer but the foot massage was great and the pilot was a great bloke (sorry have forgotten his name) this trip is for someone who just wants to relax. But, while there I decided to go on the zip wire which was absolutely amazing, it was falling down with rain which I think made it more fun but the 2 guys that were our guides were fantastic, they were funny, put you at ease, very knowledgeable about their surrounding and the most important, they were professional so a big well done and thank you to Wayne and Lavine (hope that's spelt correct). Jaaaackie from England 😀

Ultimate chukka experience

Ziplining, bamboo rafting, and tubing with respective staff was a wonderful time! Fritz and Levaughn did a great job leading the group through the ziplining (there was less climbing than my previous experiences so that was a win!) . Junior was our bamboo raft captain and kept us entertained on our trip. The "president" led our water tubing experience and did a great job. Would def recommend.

Disappointed

I booked through Royal Caribbean for river tubing and time at Adventure Falls. While we had a great day, the excursion did not go as expected. Due to it being such a large group, it took a while to get everyone together and on the buses. Once we arrived at Adventure Falls and made our way to the tubing area, there were lots of instructions, and it was slow going. We were then disappointed to find out that our tubes would be connected. The tubing lasted 45 minutes, and we were not allowed to go back to the main area until everyone was ready, leaving about 15 minutes to enjoy the falls. It all seems way too short, too busy and too rushed. The actual excursion was 1 hour and it should have been 3.5 hours. I'm not sure if this is the cruise ships fault or who is to blame. I also want to include that we have traveled the world, and this excursion might be well suited to those who have not traveled much due to the slow-paced nature and lack of adventure.

Best time ever!!!!

This was the best bamboo raft ever!! The staff was funny and kept the party going from the moment we left the resort!!! Amazing!!

Great experience.

Awesome day on the river tubing with Marley learning about the history and lore of Martha Brae, then a relaxed bamboo raft ride with our guide Marlon AKA Jesus who kept us laughing and entertained the whole ride. Beautiful scenery with friendly and knowledgable guides.

Good time!

Amazing bamboo raft ride with the incredible captain Jesus (Marlin) and and a very fun and informative river tube ride with Marley! The scenery was absolutely beautiful. Thanks to Chukka guides for going above and beyond !

Great Bamboo Rafting Experience

Romario was an awesome bamboo boat guide. He was very friendly and talkative. I introduced him to 80's Hair Metal and he loved it!

Amazing excursion

100% worth the money! All the workers were amazing and welcoming! My favourite part was bamboo rafting with Captain Z! He was honestly great and amazing! Made me feel comfortable and safe :)

Incredible!

For our zip line, we had Omar, Earl and Paul! They all made us feel so safe and comfortable while keeping us entertained! For our tubing, we had Narcus! He was INCREDIBLE!! We had so much fun!!

Zip line and tubing at chukka

This was so awesome. My three kids and I had a blast. The staff was the best part! They were so entertaining and patient with my kids ! They played with them and told jokes. The experience was beautiful and fun but the staff made it over the top. We didn’t plan on visiting again, however we will now definitely make another stop to Jamaica just to visit chukka. Our zip line staff was giovanni and 2 other really awesome guys. These guys were top notch. I could tell they had great training and they communicated well and ran things so smooth. My 7 year old even went with the aid of them! Our tubing captain was nackixx. I couldn’t have had a better time. He had such an outstanding personality. The river was gorgeous. The food was great! And the women there was so nice and kept the food area clean. I really can’t say enough about how great it was. We are on day 6 of a 7 night cruise and this was our favorite stop.

Cool vibes and great experience

Romario was an amazing raft guide, hilarious, full of life and made us feel so at ease and full of energy along the Martha Bae. Unfortunately I got eaten alive by mosquitoes, so beware to apply lots before getting on the raft. However, no complaints with the experience. Thanks for an amazing memory Romario!

Adventurers Beware of Overspending

So, we hit up Chukka Good Hope Jamaican Excursions for a wild day—ziplining, bamboo rafting, tubing, and rum tasting. It cost us $109 each, which was cool considering all the fun stuff. But, heads up, the staff was super pushy about tips. They practically followed us around to make sure they got theirs. While bamboo rafting, they tried to sell us limestone for a crazy $40 a bag. Also, don't bother buying alcohol or hot sauces there unless you're cool with paying double. Seriously, your resort has better deals. Oh, and get this, they tried making us pay extra for transportation that was supposed to be included. It felt like they were trying to pocket some extra cash, and the vibe wasn't cool. Overall, the activities rocked, but the staff's money moves were a bit sketchy. If you go - be sure to have a STRONG backbone and don’t allow them to bully you into spending more than you need to. To help yourself gauge tipping - be sure to look up current exchange rate for your $$$

Lovely zip-lining, rafting and rum tasting experience !

My husband and I went to the Chukka eco adventure at good hope and we had a great time starting with our great driver! We decided to do the zip-lining and bamboo rafting as a packaged experience based on a recommendation. 100% recommend booking things together for this location. We started our adventure zip-lining with our 2 awesome guides Levon and Nick who were great! As we went from line to line they would give us some cool facts about what else was around us. Great team! Next we went to relax on the river with bamboo rafting! The guides work so hard and it is a lovely experience with rum punch, limestone foot massages, music and a great guide! (sadly can’t remember our guides name but amazing) The surprising and fun thing was we also got to do an Appleton rum tasting to end off our adventure which was a great surprise to us! We learned a lot. All in all great experience and would recommend!!

Fantastic Family Fun

Excellent experience! We did the zip line first with Earl and Wayne and they were fantastic! Engaging and also minding our safety. Helped our youngest (8yo) thoroughly enjoy her first zip lining experience by running with her instead of telling her she can’t (we’ve had that experience before). Next we did tubing with Oshine and he was a phenomenal guide. How he engaged with our kids really was appreciated. Even after the tubing was over and my youngest was running in the park and slipped, he came from nearly across the park to come to her aid. That will certainly stick with her. Overall an excellent experience from everybody we engaged with at Good Hope! Would recommend to absolutely anybody visiting Jamaica.

Best experience ever! So much fun and amazing guides for zip- line- Rich and Geo ! Our whole family had a blast! Must try the jerk chicken!

Fun day out

The Zipline and Tubing were excellent. Captain Marsh was worked very hard during the bamboo rafting experience and was very welcoming and attentive. Felt very rushed in between activities due to a lack of communication from the reception team. Overall a good fun day out. Remembered to wear insect repellent!

Best Time!!

Had the most amazing time here!! All thanks to the guide Romario. It was super well organized and efficient.

Didn't get everything we paid for

Got an email the night before telling us the transport was no longer able to pick us up so we had to make our own way. I understand this was complimentary but having paid nearly $400 for the Ultimate Explorer Pass and having to make alternative last minute travel arrangements was a costly hassle but we were really looking forward to all the activities so we continued with the exurcsion. We did zip lining with Tameika and her team, rafting and tubing with Marley, the tour guides and activities were all great. (Although as a couple our rafting experience was considerably shorter than any single or groups of females......) The information desk told us where to go on each occasion.  However, when we attended the information desk at 3.50pm when we returned from tubing we were told we could now use the pool facilities. I asked to do the rum tasting and tour and was told the last one was at 3.30pm and pointed to a board which didn't have this information displayed and that it is really complimentary. We were not told there was a chance we would miss this by the information desk and were just sent with the tour guides on each occasion. The experience we booked (as per the title) was meant to include 'Appleton Rum Tasting, learn the process of rum making and it's history and sample several sample rums with tasting included'.  I complained via email to be told 'Unfortunately the appleton rum tasting was complimentary with the package that you purchased. And as such you didn't pay for the rum tasting. Guests do have the option to choose if they want to participate in the rum tasting.' Which I disagree with, at no point does it say the rum tasting was complimentary nor did we get an option to participate, which we were looking forward to doing. Overall very disappointing way to end the day and response from customer services when the tour guides were so good at their jobs.

Charged for something I couldn’t do at the safety hazard

We booked zip lining and tubing, when it was our turn to go tubing with everyone we had just gone zip lining with Antholique told us we had to taste rum, when we found out the tubing trip was leaving she wouldn’t let us join them even though my son was there and said they called our name. We had two young kids and waited for almost two hours for the shuttle without having a chance to tube. We had a 2pm shuttle back and didn’t have time to do the tubing, we asked the manager for a refund on that part of the trip and he refused. They are so greedy and just want to sell you rum rather than putting your families fun first. While zipping was fun it was very dangerous with frayed cables, exposed nails and broken wooden parts. If you care for your safety stay away.

The activities organized by chukka, zipplining and bamboo rafting in Jamaica were an incredibly fun experience. Especially bamboo rafting because From the moment we got on the bamboo rafts, our guide "Capitan Marsh" was in charge of making every moment memorable. He was attentive to our safety and We laughed a lot, enjoyed the scenery and learned about the local culture, all thanks to the energy and contagious enthusiasm of our guide. Congratulations to Captain Marsh and whoever selected such a nice person. An example of a magnificent experience. Definitely, an adventure that we will remember with a smile on our faces and that we are sure we will repeat soon.

YOU WON'T REGRET THIS

We had a blast zip-lining and bamboo rafting. Tamika and crew were humorous, courteous and made the experience fun. Captain Lance Marsh provided my husband and I with top of the line service. He made us laugh, shared historical information and made our bamboo rafting experience, one that we'll never forget. HE DESERVES A RAISE 😉

We had a Blast!

We had the BEST time on this excursion. Wayne, from the ziplining, was a jokester which made it even more memorable. Our guy, Chevy, from the bamboo rafting, was very warm which made us feel like we were with family. We Highly recommend.

What a birthday full of adventure!!!!

Tamika, Jermaine, Nick and the crew were absolutely fabulous!!! My husband and I chose this excursion for my 43rd birthday celebration! I was terrified to zip line but figured I only get one life so did it anyway!!!! I trusted my guides and I trusted my equipment!! While I screamed the entire time, the onsite photographer did manage to also catch a huge smile on my face! We also did river tubing, bamboo rafting with foot massage and rum tasting! The grounds are beautiful, waterslide with pool, bar, swings and lunch available! The lunch was delicious, best jerk chicken we had on this trip! It was our sixth time to Jamaica and third Chukka tour- highly recommend this company! What a fabulous birthday I had, big ups to everyone! Respect! Love, The Ja’mericans, Monica and John! Haitians in Jamaica!

We loved the bamboo rafting; our specific guide had an umbrella, so we did not get wet, which was so convenient because it started to rain, and we were one of the only rafts with a built-in umbrella. I loved ziplining, and although I have been before, the guides make a difference. Earl and Nick were excellent zipline guides - hilarious. I did not enjoy the Tubing because all the guides did was splash me with water, which was freezing. My partner loved the Rum tasting. I do not drink, but the videos they showed at the beginning of the tasting were beautiful and highly educational.

Highly recommend

I would definitely recommend anyone to do this excursion. Everything went smoothly from start to finish! It is hard to remember all of the names but the staff we encountered were fun and inviting. We did the river tubing, zip lines, and bamboo rafting. We also were able to do a run tasting. I felt completely safe in their hands as we were guided through each activity! I really wish I could name each one of our guides.

An excellent tour with excellent knowledgeable guides!

We booked this tour through our rep in our hotel it did not disappoint! Narkis was our tour guide for the tubing hes was soo funny and I enjoyed him shouting: Matrixxxx whenever a branch was near by and we had to lie flat on the tubes.🤣🤣 We then went to the zip lining where the team were excellent and so patient. Ernesto was our favourite and helped us a lot aswell as everybody else. We shall be backkkk!!!!! Ye mon!!!!
