Magnificent sunset

The tour was 1 hour longer than the said 4 hours. We had the most beautiful sunset in Mateora, worth the money and time! We also got to see some monasteries and the surrounding area.

Amazing

The experience was awsome. Our guide knew a lot and was very detailed with the info she provided. We were a party of 5, with 2 kids and 1 senior. The experience was enjoyable for all of us, with our different physical capabilities. My youngest kid rated as "amazing"

Amazing tour guided by Anastasia and Nikos. Anastasia has a real gift in presenting you the area and tell mythological stories about the place. But.... Forget about giving your camera /phone for photos to Anastasia :)

A rainy day in Meteora is still awesome

We had a Majestic Sunset on Meteora Rocks Tour on a rainy day in March but it didn't disturb us to take an amazing experience. The group was small - only 4 people including us. The mini-bus was comfy and new. The bus driver Christo was very caring and drove carefully, so I felt safe even on a wet rocky road. He also knows a lot about the area and was involved in the tour. Our guide (also) Christo was super friendly and knowledgeable. When I was choosing the tour I saw a lot of reviews about other tours and many of them mentioned guides who didn't give any information about the area and monasteries. We had absolutely opposite. Christo told us many historical and fun facts about Meteora, monks, and city inhabitants. It was raining so we didn't catch the sunset (we were aware of it by the guide) but because of the weather, we had a chance to see mystic foggy Meteora instead. Also, I want to mention the agency itself. We had a nice email conversation with Nadia and Fotini who was very kind and answered not only my questions about the tours but about bus tickets. Totaly recomend Meteora Thrones.

The guides Anastasia and Maria were excellent and the drivers Nikos and Dinos too were amazing

Best Meteora Tour for any age

I love this tour and I've taken different family members on it three times, even though I had a car. The tour took us places I did not know about the first 2 times I visited Meteora.

Good value for money and sightseeing

I chose this company's morning tour and this one. The highlights of this are a visit to the Byzantine Church, sunset rock and one monastery. The guide was able to provide a background for the Church. We also passed through many panoramic vies. Some of it was repetition but that I had expected. One of the monasteries that I wanted to visit was closed on this day. If it has been open, then it would make more sense to do the Morning tour and then take a cab to that Monastery and other places of interest. This still worked out really well because I saw a lot of Meteora and whole heartedly recommend. They also picked up and dropped off at the or close to the Hotel.

amazing trip toured by Antonis. he is a very great and intellectual tour guide , who grows up in kalabaka and knows the area very well. A tour that you must not miss.

Great tour

It was a small group tour. Our guide Maria was a best guide!! She is young, but her knowledge was incredible and I’ve learned a lot through this tour. Also all the places we visited were amazing. Highly recommended!!

A must do, especially when short on time in Meteora.

We had a wonderful time with Meteora Thrones. We traveled as a family and know that tours with children can add extra stressors to guides and other participants. There was never a moment that we felt any sort of way about traveling as a family with young kids, and in fact we’re treated so kindly. Our guide and driver were very sweet and informative and kept us posted every step of the way. I am very glad we went with this tour being that we only had one night in the area. We were able to see everything we sought out to see.

Interesting and confortable

Absolutely happy. Very easy to book, we did it, I think the night before and it was super easy. We've been picked up very on time. the bus was very confi and our guide, Maria, very professional and patient :-) The tour was also very interesting and was fitting perfectly in our full agenda.

Awesome experience

We had a wonderful and amazing tour with our guide Yiannis and the driver Cristos. Everything was on time, we learnt many details about the location, its history and all the monasteries. Finally we enjoyed a breath taking sunset. We loved it and would absolutely recommend it.

Sunset on Meteora rocks tour

Our Sunset on Meteora tour was an amazing experience! we were impressed by our very knowledgeable and friendly guide Clement who gave us all the information we needed to dive into the world of the monks and monasteries in the area, and really get the full picture of the wonders we were seeing. Everything was on time and as described online. our local bus driver was great too. The only down side was the fact it was an extremely hot day and the air-conditioning on the bus was too weak and wasn't doing the job...

Wonderful sunset at Meteora

We had a wonderful time on our sunset Tour at Meteora. Our Guide Clemens told us a lot of interesting stories and we enjoyed the time with him.He showed us some interesting spots that we wouldn‘t have seen without the tour.

Meteora Monasteries

This was a great experience and tour! Our tour guide was so informative and fun to interact with. She considered the group's needs with the extreme hot weather we experienced, but made sure we saw all the sights.

Must do!

First timers in Greece. We decided to travel around the islands and some cities. My family and I felt in love with and its fields. So we took a tour to watch the sunset. The whole experience was fantastic, a mist do when in Greece. Our tour guide, Stacy was knowledgeable, charismatic and enthusiastic. My family and I had and amazing afternoon and enjoyed the sunset adventure. Dimitri, our tour bus driver, took us around the city in a timely manner and making sure we were confortable enough when in the bus. Thank you both for this adventure!!

Best trip ever

I would give my life to highly recommend this trip ever. The best view, the best tour guide, and the best time as well. Andonis (not sure if I spell correctly) is very helpful and is totally committed to his job to bring the most memorable experience to the tourist. Thomas is very funny and a professional photographer. Don’t be worried if you travel alone and no pictures can be taken. This tour is the best experience ever in Kalampaka!

Must see destination with a must use company

Amazing destination and worth every minute. Our tour guide Clement was incredibly informative and shared his knowledge of the region with great passion and enthusiasm.

Memorable views at the Meteora trip

The views were amazing. We did see a lot in 4 hours time. Unfortunately no sunset because it was to cloudy ;-) Maybe the guide can improve his english. Most of the time he was hard to understand. Also a tip: wait with explaining till all the participants are together on one spot.

Needed a better guide

The tour itself was good. We visited some beautiful sites including the sunset. My problem was with the tour guide. She was very nice, but her delivery was a bit dull. It sounded like a memorized presentation. A lot of her facts were not correct. I fact checked after the tour to be sure. I recommend the tour, but I hope you get a better guide.

Antonis is an Excellent Guide

The views were amazing and we loved the whole trip. Although it rained for part of our evening tour, our driver Antonis was thoughtful and resourceful in changing plans. He showed us local areas that we wouldn’t have normally seen and then resumed the trip once the rain had gone. He provided us with lots of local information which we really appreciated. If you go on a tour with this company please ask to go with Antonis because we went for a tour the following day and it was very disappointing because the guide was terrible.

Sunset Tour

Absolutely one of the best tours I took in Greece! The church and monastery visits were wonderful and the sunset was spectacular!

Amazing experience. It is such a beautiful place and this was a great way to see the monasteries, go inside one, explore the caves, etc. Definitely do this!

Great tour!

Excellent tour with knowledgeable tour guides. This tour gave us visibility to all of the monasteries and time to visit, see, and take pictures. Great mix of picture time, small hike, and time to visit. They provided interesting commentary and a small group environment. Definitely a must do!

What a site!

The mountains are majestic and the monasteries are inspirational not only for those who built them but also for all that work to keep them open. This is a site not to be missed. Our tour guide was not as knowledgeable as other Viator tour guides but he took us to all the right spots. Also, going on the sunset tour only allows you to go into 1 monastery. I would recommend a tour earlier in the day to see more of these unbelievable sites. The roads are in perfect condition so if driving you can go back for the sunset yourself.

Awesome experience in Meteora

It was am amazing and a well planned itinerary which included a photo-shooting opportunity with all the 6 monasteries and a visit to one of them, along with an 11th century museum. Very kind and helpful guide with a comfortable mini-bus.

An Amazing Experience!

The tour was fantastic! The guide originally from Toronto was VERY knowledgeable of Greece, the sites, and the culture and kept the tour informative and fun! The churches and monasteries easily conveyed a sense of awe and there were many opportunities to stop and take pictures along the way of the beautiful locations! Highly recommend this tour!

Great sununset tour

The trip was excellent, informotive and intresting. You could tell that the guide knew a lot about Meteora and the monasterys. Also, we couldn't make it to the tour we booked and the company let us take it on a different day. Great views geart time.

A great tour!

The bus came and picked me up at the hotel. A nice bus with a friendly driver and guide. We went and saw the whole area with frequent stops for either visiting the monasteries or to take photos. The guide's English was excellent! And he knew many small details. Even though I could have done the tour myself, I highly recommend doing it this way to get hts which you would not normally get. Well worth it and good value!

Our favorite spot wa the sunset spot. Hell of a view and the tour guide was nice polite and full of knowledge.hope we could do one more tour in the future. Highy recommended!

Magical experience! Must do on your first night!

Pick up was on time. Bus was modern and new. Clement our tour guide was very friendly and knew his information. Watching sunset is magical! It is definitely a must do whilst in Meteora. It would have been nice to know what Monasteries we would be visiting to make sure that we didn’t double up on a previous day. Unfortunately we had been to some of the same monasteries that morning. This is a tour you should definitely do on your first night in Meteora as it gives you a good idea of what to do on your upcoming days.

Wonderful guide, stunning tour and views!

Clement was an absolutely fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable, extremely personable. He answered all our questions and also gave us some time to explore the monastery and take in the views at the rock. We made a lot of stops along the way, to other monasteries and views, some of which he said were unplanned. Highly recommend the tour and Clement as a guide!!!

Meteora is a must see.

A definite bucket list destination! Magical and majestic. Our guide Christos was Excellent. He was both our driver and guide and he was outstanding. The next day for our morning tour Thomas our guide and Akis our driver was also very good! Meteora Thrones Agency was a delight to work with and would not hesitate to recommend them.

Simply excellent

It was amazing... I wanted to see the sunset in Meteora ever since I heard about the area, and I can say with absolute certainty that I wasn't disappointed. Everyone was so polite. Thomas -our tour guide- was by far the best. He was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. If you're visiting the area, a tour around Meteora is definitely a must-do! I'm definitely coming back again!!!

Great tour, knowledgeable guide

Very informative tour! You would be missing out visiting this site without learning some of the history. Our guide Thomas was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw quite a bit, including some extra things like the hermit caves I would have missed otherwise. We didn’t get a sunset because it was cloudy, but the views are still magnificent. It really is amazing how much history there is at meteora and surrounding area.

Nice beginning ended in a time chaos

1 point for friendly guide and one for sophisticated explanation of history. But Organisation of time with respect to the actual purpose - the sunset and viewpoints of meteora little catastrophe. All respect to the cultural and historical aspect of this tour, but we spend way too much time listening to the explanations of the guide and visiting one Byzantine church, so that we had to crazy rush through the viewpoints to get to last sunset viewpoint in the end 5 min before sunset. I hate that!! When the time became critical, the guide must have been adopted very much earlier and cut the time in the church or even suspend it at all. Because what we came for the 4 hours train was actually the viewpoints at meteora Monasteries during golden hour, when the monasteries are enlightened by the sun. We even arrived at a time when it would have been possible to stop at some nice spots to get at least one picture like that. But instead we were driven to some viewpoints that were already complete in the shadow and the guide always pushed like ok go out 5 minutes for quick photo. For the actual and last sunset spot we could not even manage to stop because it was all full parked :/ (I know where the „real“ spot is because we went there on our own last day in the morning). So in the end the guide really managed that I could not take one single photo with some nice light on monastery, which is a slight Desaster for a tour promising exactly the opposite. Our consequence - we will try to avoid any group tours for the future where it is not absolutely necessary to go with a guide. And I would recommend the same to you ;)

Majic Meteora

We decided to take the sunset tour and we’re not disappointed. Aside from a mixup finding our accomodation (not their fault) the trip was well run and a great way to see the points of interest. The driver went out of his way for us - fantastic service, amazing photos, thankyou.

Wonderful experience

The whole tour was amazing. We learned a lot about the monasteries and their history. The guide was really nice and available. We could visit a monastery and the Byzantine church, afterwards we went to see an absolutely beautiful sunset at the top of the rocks. Would recommend it and do it again !!

Amazing view! Tour was underwhelming.

After stopping along the road and going into only one monastery, the bus drove us back DOWN the mountain and took us to a bar. So although the sunset view was spectacular, the tour was meh.

Amazing tour but be careful with pick up time

Fantastic tour with a very fun and knowledgeable guide. We visited the inside of one monastery and saw all the others from outside with great explanation about each one. We also stopped along many viewpoints to take pictures. At the end of the tour, we were taken to the sunset spot. Unfortunately we had 2 inconveniences. Firstly, the booking stated that we were meant to be picked up from our hotel at 4:00pm. We were outside at 3:58pm and we were told that the tour bus had came earlier than the given time and didn’t bother to wait for us, so we had to find our way to Meteora to meet the tour. The other inconvenience is that although the Meteora sunset is incredible, it’s not guaranteed to be that way everyday due to clouds (we didnt even manage to see the sun but ofcourse this is a natural inconvenience that you should be aware of) Other than that, amazing tour and would definitely recommend however please be at the pickup place some time before the pickup time so you’ll have a 10/10 experience.

Tour guide was friendly and very knowledgeable. We were surprised by how much we learnt about the history of the area. Each stop was timed just right for us to ask questions and take photos. We had hired a car so we did consider making our own way around the monostries, but we are really glad we chose the tour instead.
