We were so fortunate to have a full day tour with Marlene. She was a lovely vivacious guide. She was very well informed and had eyes that found Koalas in treetops and the spot with the 18 kangaroos in the field. She is conversant with nature topics: animals and plants. She took us to the wonderful cheese factory. We spent the whole day with her and it was comfortable and easy. She is an excellent driver and found some lovely places to get a nibble. All in all--such a fabulous and wonderful day!

We had a great time with Joe and Pat. Couldn’t have been a better introduction to the countryside around Melbourne. Not only did we see a lot, it was all tailored to our interests, either from information or from the sensitivity of our two guides to what we might like. Once in a lifetime experience, and wildly great guides (Pat)

If you're wondering whether the 11-12 hours required to take this trip are worth it, just do it. This was one of the most unbelievable landscapes we've seen, and we've been to some of the world's most beautiful coastline drives. Pat was our driver and guide, and really let us drive on pace, interest, and mood of the tour. He was great to talk with and also relaxed if we just wanted to stare at the coast line. I would highly recommend requesting him if you're considering working with Localing. Pickup was perfectly on time in a nice Lexus sedan, and his driving and narration was excellent.

Marty made our Melbourne tour the best!!

Our tour was excellent because of Marty - ask for him! My husband and I booked the all day Great Ocean Road tour on our honeymoon. Marty's local knowledge helped us avoid traffic and he adapted the day to fit in what we wanted to prioritize. On an all day excursion, the driver can really make or break your experience considering we're all in the car together for over 8 hours of driving! Marty was full of energy, good stories, local lore, and fun facts about the sites (12 apostles, construction of the road, rainforest stops, etc). He also left us with excellent Melbourne food/drink recs. Marty went above and beyond to make sure we had the best day on our honeymoon!

Fantastic trip on Great Ocean Road

We were fortunate to have Marlene as our guide. The Great Ocean Road tour is a long day trip but Marlene made it really fun finding spots that we could stop and see Australian native birds, koalas, and kangaroos. She has an amazing ability to spot ability to spot koalas on the roadside, we saw more than 10 on our excursion! Our visits to local, authentic locations were just fantastic and added much to out tour. Marlene was wonderful and explained things very well and that made for a very special day.

True highlight of Melbourne vicinity

Highly recommend this tour, it was incredible! Our guide, Marlene, made it extra special, ask for her! She really tailored the day to our interests in the environment, birds and animals specific to Australia. She was so knowledgeable about plants and animals and made the experience really fun! The views along the road were incredible, we enjoyed stopping at local places for lunch and cheese tasting and seeing all of the amazing birds. It was the highlight of our stay in Melbourne!

Aussie Open

We were in Melbourne for four days to watch the Aus Open and tour the city. The Localing crew, along with our host Patrick, could not have provided a better experience. From hotels to meals, fun places to see, and constant laughter, they couldn't have been better hosts.

Fantastic all day side trip from Melbourne

We had a fantastic day with Simon from Localing on our all-day tour of the Great Ocean Road. The tour is filled with tremendous beauty and stops in local towns that make you feel like you are experiencing Australia like a local. Cannot recommend The Great Ocean Road and Simon enough. A great day!

Best tour of the Great Ocean Road!

Nico was a fantastic tour guide for the Great Ocean Rod! He stopped at all the good look out points so we could see the views. We had a great lunch at the Bird House in Apollo Bay and after lunch went in search of koalas and kangaroos. We were in luck! Spotted a koala way up high in a tree and were able to see several kangaroos in the wild. We ended our tour at the 12 Apostles before heading back to Melbourne. Nico was friendly and answered our 100s of questions along our trip! Definitely recommend this tour and request Nico!

Excellent Two Day Great Ocean Road Adventure

I did the "Two Day Great Ocean Road – Private Multi-Day Tour" with Adam as my host. It was spectacular. Here are the reasons why this was an outstanding experience: 1. I contacted Localing a few months before my first visit to Australia to tell them what I was interested in. They recommended a tour, but then fully customized it to my interests and tastes (photography, birds and vegetarian food). Their trip planning staff is very prompt with replies and clearly experienced in providing people with extra information to make good decisions about their tour. 2. I want to give a huge shout-out to Adam; he was completely engaged the full two days. He was an incredibly safe driver! He brought his camera, so that we could do activities together, and while he was already very well-versed in local birds, he brought extra books and resources for me, so that I could ID what I saw when we got back in our vehicle. 3. Adam knew so many awesome spots off the beaten path. It is clear that on a one-day tour we would never have had time for all these adventures, but they were so memorable (for example, going to see a waterfall in the rainforest). On the morning of the second day, Adam even picked me up at 7:30am so that we could explore the shoreline near Apollo Bay at low tide! There are so many more positive things that I could say, but in summary, I would recommend that anyone who wants to make the most of a tour experience engage with Localing.

Fantastic Great Ocean Road Journey

Marlene made our three day adventure on the Great Ocean Road the most wonderful experience. She is very knowledgeable about the beautiful important and usual stops along the way but she also researched ideas to best suit our interests (small wine, cheese and art stops!) The journey was beautiful and informative. Her driving skills were amazing particularly with all the narrow country roads and construction. The incomparable Great Ocean Road Tour

Joshua was a great guide. His knowledge and enthusiasm elevated the entire tour experience. The walk in the rainforest was breathtaking. It is a magical place. We were overwhelmed by the beauty and majesty of the ancient trees. That being said, who can ignore the unique experience of visiting with koalas - the most adorable and beloved animal. That was part of the Great Ocean tour and another outstanding experience.

Best Guides and Incredible trip of the Great Ocean Road

The trip was out of this world, but our guides, Jeremy and Michael made it extra special. They were terrific and so knowledgeable of the area. We stopped at a lovely cafe on the way and had the most delicious scones and coffee and then walked over to the lighthouse in the area and took in the incredible view. The coast is gorgeous. Taking in the Apostles was so worth it. Mother Nature is amazing. Also, went to an animal reserve and fed emus, kangaroos, wallabees. Had a chance to pet some of them as well. Stopped for lunch in a coastal community and had a chance to enjoy the company of our wonderful guides. They were the best!!! Thank you Jeremy and Michael.

Fantastic day on The Great Ocean Road

My sister and I had a fantastic day on our private Great Ocean Road tour. Our guide Richard picked us up on time from our hotel and we set out for a truly great day. We discussed what we would be doing for the day and left the city for our adventure. We saw multiple sites along the way and made several stops to take in the breathtaking scenery along The Great Ocean Road. We spotted Kangaroos along the way and were fortunate enough to spot a Koala. Richard knew all the best spots to look for them. We had a stop for a coffee mid morning and walked up to view the lighthouse. We took a beautiful walk through the rainforest Following a delicious fresh seafood lunch eaten overlooking the bay from which the fish were caught! The stop at the Twelve Apostles was stunning. Richards knowledgable commentary was fabulous. We made more stops along the way and the day sadly was over before we knew it. My sister and I highly recommend this tour. Our day with Richard was a highlight of our visit to Melbourne.

Localing Tours/Private Tours

James was absolutely amazing. We saw wild kangaroos and Koalas. He knew all of the local spots to grab excellent coffee, cakes and a fabulous seaside lunch. We also did the city tour with him and had the best day. Can’t say enough about James. He is warm, passionate about his city, and takes you off the beaten path. Life down under at its peak!

Legit best tour my wife and I been on. Martin was an amazing guide! We saw koalas and kangaroos in the wild and got super close. Martin our guide did a great job bringing us to the best local spots for lunch on the water and best views of the 12 apostles. I couldn’t of had a better time and for a 12 hour tour it felt like it was only a hour. Anyone who decides to do a Viator group tour over this is making the worst decision. Pony up the extra bucks and thank me later! Thanks again Martin!

Excellent trip of the 12 apostles

Bianca the great Koala spotter took us along Ocean Road to the 12 Apostles. Amazing day, wonderful, happy and knowledgeable guide and really special sights including over a dozen koalas in the wild which Bianca excelled at spotting and was so gracious to allow us extra time with them even though it made her late off work. Such a sweetheart and highly recommend

If we could give Josh more than 5 stars we would. We truly felt like we were spending the day with a friend who was very knowledgeable about the area and was excited to show it off to us. Great experience!

We had a great tour with Sam our private guide. He has a lot of interesting information about the history of this part of Australia as well as nice stories about Australian life incl. the Flying Spaghetti Monster. Although our helicopter flight back must be canceled, he drove us safely the long way home. Excellent day!

We had the pleasure of exploring The Great Ocean Road one day and then touring Melbourne the next with Bianca. What an absolutely amazing tour she created for us! She is incredibly knowledgeable of the area and answered our endlessly questions with ease. She knew a couple secret spots to make the tours memorable (koalas and a cool train bar). It was more like traveling with a good friend than a tour guide. Would love to work with her again one day...highly recommend!

Couldn’t have been a better experience!

We were so lucky to have Josh for both a tour of Philip Island & a drive along the Great Ocean Road!! After a couple of weeks touring other places in Australia, Josh was the first guide who knew exactly the right areas to show our family wallabies, kangaroos, and koalas (among others!) We had seen these wonderful animals in the Sydney Zoo as well as some wildlife parks, but not actually in the wild! This was definitely a bucket list item for us, especially because tragically we couldn’t visit Kangaroo Island. Not only was Josh incredibly personable during the tour, but also he went above and beyond giving us thoughtful & thorough recommendations for the days we were there (sadly) without him. He was able to connect with us about so many other topics during the ride and we now consider him a friend. Josh was the essence of what you expect from a tour from a local - he grew up in the area, and had so much interesting insight for everything we were seeing on the long drives to both destinations. We learned far more than we could have if we adventured to these areas ourselves and we would have never known to stop off at beaches, restaurants, and roadsides to get the most out of the experience. As a family who has used guides all over the world for many years, Josh was truly a world class guide and we couldn’t have asked for better! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! :)

Great Ocean Road & Melbourne Food safari tours on our holiday visit to Victoria.

We enjoyed two full days tours with Localined Private Tours 0412386788. The tours were the Great Ocean Road and full day Melbourne food Safari. It was fantastic. Our guide, Sam Gudgeon, gave us 2 wonderful days. Sam was personable, attentive, informative,and adaptable. We highly recommend Sam and the tour company.

Day of a Lifetime

We did the Great Ocean Road private tour in November, before the devastating bushfires had overtaken this beautiful country. How heartbreaking that this wonderful place and its kind and friendly people are experiencing this tragedy. That said, we could not have had a better experience on this tour with Locating Private Tours and our tour guide Daniel Bornstein. Our family of 4 including 2 adult children were picked up at 8 am in a roomy Mercedes van. Daniel could not have been more friendly and knowledgable. Seriously, I don't think there was anything about Australia that he didn't know: cuisine, wine, history, politics, flora and fauna, animals, geography- it was impossible to stump him! Daniel was very flexible with our schedule and our requests. He made sure we got to see everything that we wanted and then some. He know all the right places for us to see koalas and kangaroos in the wild which were at the top of our "to-do" list. We stopped at a local place for the world's best banana bread, went through a rain forest, fed parakeets out of our hands, walked across the treetops on cable walkways, saw some beautiful towns and coastlines and of course visited the 12 Apostles. And as a bonus, Daniel is also a professional photographer so we handed him our phones for photos we got back some really great pictures! Doing a private tour is definitely a more costly option than the shared vans that you can get to tour this area, but it was definitely worth it to be able to customize the tour to our family's exact preferences. From my initial inquiries, to the company's booking and followup this is a five star operation that I would highly recommend. We are sending our thoughts to Australia and the Australians during this terrible time for them and hope the fires are resolved soon.

Fabulous Day with Bianca

We loved our day trip from Melbourne along the Great Ocean Road. Bianca, our guide, was very helpful and knew where to bring us to see Koalas (we saw four), kangaroos (we saw a group of about 15) and parrots. The 12 apostles area of oceanfront is breathtaking—and we are used to beautiful scenery. We didn’t expect it. The lunch of fresh fish was also enjoyable. We recommend this company and we definitely recommend Bianca who also went out of her way to recommend other stops in Melbourne for when we would be wandering about on our own. She is also a very skilled and safe driver if that is a concern.

Unbelievable Sights

Earlier this week we were fortunate enough to take the all day Great Ocean Highway Tour. We saw beautiful sights that were just unbelievable! Our tour guide Tom went above and beyond to make sure we did not miss a thing we wanted to see. He tailor made the tour to see what interested my wife and me. Also, Tom was a pleasure to visit with the whole day being versed in so many varied subjects. We highly recommend the tour led by Tom.

Amazing experience!

We recently returned from a trip to Melbourne and had a 3 day private tour with Locating that included the Great Ocean Road, a day in Yarra Valley, and a 1/2 day Melbourne boroughs experience. Our guide Daniel was so knowledgable and had an obvious love for Australia and Melbourne. He showed us great spots in Melbourne and on our Great Ocean Road tour even took us to a pretty secret spot where we were able to see a mob of kangaroo. It was so cool! On the Yarra Valley tour he took us to some great wineries and we were able to spend some time at the Healesville sanctuary and got to feed a kangaroo there too. We felt well taken care of throughout our 3 days with Daniel. Working with Sue on planning out the tours was easy, even doing it from the United States. She was quick to respond and very helpful in guiding me to create the perfect itinerary. I highly recommend Localing and would definitely use them again.

Amazing Tour!

We booked this tour through Audley Travel, as part of our AUS/NZ vacation, and it surpassed our expectations. Our guide, Cyril Paquier was the reason why. He was very knowledgeable of the region, but more importantly he listened to what our preferences were, and then tailored the trip based on that. We saw great sites, visited a fantastic winery, and hit some local spots where we had some amazing seafood as well. Cyril had a great sense of humor, and really fit in well with our group. We spent 2 days with him also doing the local Melbourne city tour as well, and it was time well spent. I would be happy to recommend the company and Cyril anytime!

Memorable private tour company for the boroughs of Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road and mornington and Phillips Island

Every day we experienced with Locating Private Experiences was unforgettable. From all of our communications with Sue before our arrival to the plans she helped us to make to her daily check ins, this tour company was spot on! Our city tour with Dan and Josh brought forth the vibrancy of Melbourne from its neighborhoods to its street art. Traveling the Great Ocean Road with Cyril was spectacular! His keen eye brought the flora and fauna to life and included sightings of koala and kangaroos in the wild and the majestic 12 Apostles. Our visit to the Indigenous People's Cultural Center was so meaningful due to Cyril's sensitive explanations. Touring Mornington and Phillips Island with Brook was so much fun! Wonderful Multi-day experience

My family and sister-in-law had a wonderful experience with Elliot over three days which included Great Ocean Road, tour of Melbourne neighborhoods, and tour of Mornington Peninsula. Great to have a guide and driver combined. Eased the stress around how to get places and saved us valuable time. Each day was a gem. Perfect first introduction to Australia

It was our first time in Australia and our first tour straight from the plane from Europe. Martin was very knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating. He showed us in 2 days all the animals we wanted to except the penguins which we could not see during day time.

Unforgettable 2 day Tour & Adventure

For our family of four, this was an incredible experience we'll never forget. This came as the final stop on our two-week trip through Australia and left us wowed. The journey itself was striking in many ways but it was the outstanding level of service and disposition of our guide, Eliot, that took it to the next level. He connected with all of us, especially our two kids, ages 17 and 20, and delivered just the right amount of history and local insight to ensure we experienced some hidden treasures that made the trip all the more special, even hunting down koalas and wallabies until the sun set.
