A quirky walking tour of deliciousness

Ivan was delightful. A nice mix of quirky Melbourne history and interesting little details pointed out to us between stops. Chocolate stops were amazing and well above what I expected. So many little treasures to share with my family on my next visit to Melbourne.

Great tour!

We had a great time! Not only was the chocolate delicious, Jake was brilliant. It’s a great way to find new cafe’s, restaurants and bars with learning some history along the way!

Ivan was spectacular!! His knowledge and caring for all of us on the tour was great. He paid attention in everyone’s questions and answered kindly. Very interesting tour, and pairing cheese with chocolate was a mind blower!

Thank you Ivan for a fun, tasty and very interesting tour. All our venues had delicious tastings - we even went back to a couple for more purchases. We love these tours because they support the smaller businesses that you would generally not know about and history quirks of the area. Highly recommend.

Had a fabulous time with our very knowledgeable host Tanya traversing the laneways & arcades of Melbourne and of course sampling scrumptious chocolates along the way . Wonderful fun way to fill in several hours

Variety of venues and chocolate tastings exceeded expectations. Guide Peggy very knowledgeable about all things chocolate, including historical and cultural aspects. Well organised tour, nicely paced, friendly and inclusive vibe. The surprise dessert at the end was really nice, filling and beautifully presented. The tour was unexpectedly good value for such premium products and we made liberal use of the shop discounts to stock up. A tour you will remember and literally savour for some time to come as you work your way thru your purchases.

Chocolate bliss in Melbourne

Peggy was a fabulous guide and took us around to multiple shops in Melbourne for some great chocolate sampling, including a bonus stop that was unexpected - along the way we had great conversations with her as a Melbourne native and got to exchange a lot of great tips and thoughts. Won't spoil the surprise of some of the tastings which are both unexpected and delicious. There's some walking involved, but nothing strenuous, and get to explore some of the laneways of Melbourne where all the cool shops are located.

Enjoyed our tour so much. Tonya was friendly and knowledgeable and made our chocolate tour an enjoyable experience. We loved sampling all the fine chocolates and desserts.

Great walking tour through Melbourne

Definitely an awesome tour. While holidaying in Melbourne I was looking forward to exploring the quirky laneways and beautiful arcades. To my delight we went through a lot of these on our tour. Our wonderful guide Jake, was very knowledgeable with interesting insights into the history and architecture of the arcades and laneways. There was plenty of delicious specialty chocolate to be had at the tastings with time for browsing the stores, if you wished, but no pressure to do so. Was hard to pick a favourite but the Asian Chocolate Dumplings and the Chocolate and Cheese Pairings were hard to beat. Great way to spend 3 hours, would highly recommend this tour.

The tour was amazing, everything tasted and smelled amazing and plenty of time at each place 😊 the time flew past but it wasn't noticeable 😊 Tonya and molly were so approachable and kind. They pointed out places throughout the tour and got to know each person on the tour. They also recommended tours and where to see while in Melbourne. Will definitely be back 😊

A nice way to spend a few hours in Melbounre

A nice easy and enjoyable walking tour. There were 8 guests on the tour which made it enjoyable. We visited 2 dessert locations and 5 chocolate venues. All the chocolate venues gave free samples, which were delicious. The dessert location were "asian themed" which would be something I not normally choose but they were both great choices. The tour takes you through some great little arcades and laneways which were all absolutely beautiful and a highlight of the tour.

A must do in Melbourne

This tour was above and beyond. Tonya was quirky, knowledgeable and friendly... perfect for this tour. Lots of sampling and unexpected venues in the short (distance-wise) tour of the Arcades and five stops at chocolate facilities. The most unusual stop was at an Asian place that served lava cakes that looked like stones. The tour went a bit longer than expected, but hey that was OK. Well done Tonya.

Nice small group tour

Great tour! Stopped at 5 locations to sample chocolate. As they said no pressure to buy anything. Nice loop through several small laneways and arcades to see more of Melbourne. Tonya did a great job leading the tour.

Ivan, our tour guide, as well as Jake his assistant, were personable, patient & informative about Melbourne's history & many unique sights. The various chocolate experiences were great. Didn't rush us, allowing us to look as well as sample. Truly enjoyed the whole experience!

Calling all Chocoholics! This Lanes & Arcades Tour is For You!

Wow! What an awesome tour! We had not discovered Melbourne's lanes and arcades yet. It was so much fun to walk through some of them. Emily, our guide, was very kind, knowledgeable, and entertaining. She kept us engaged throughout and carefully looked out for the group's needs and preferences. The surprise ending really "topped" it all off!! Thanks, Emily! This tour will definitely be one of the highlights when we remember our trip to Melbourne.

Not our thing

Only lasted 30mins into the tour. We first went to a spice shop that sold “chocolate”. It left us feeling sick after that and we had to leave. Both my husband and I signed up for chocolate not spices. It was also advertised for 3hrs and was written like there would be 7 stores, which in the introduction she said their would be 5 stores with more than 7 tastings meaning less stores and it didn’t cover a lot of the milk chocolate and more cocoa chocolate. She also said it would only go for 2hrs.

Tourists in our own town and LOVED it!

Fantastic tour. Despite being a Melbourne local, we visited stores we never even realise existed. Felt like tourists in our own city! Our tour guide Meg was fantastic. Captivating, entertaining, friendly, and informative. Our chocolates were delicious and we bought something at every store, including great presents for other people. We tried foods we never would have otherwise tried and loved it. Highly recommend. Only downside was that some of the chocolates we sampled were out of stock, this was due to the time of year (new year holiday period) meaning the chocolatiers were on break and not making chocolate at the time!

A pleasant, and tasty, morning in Melbourne

Tonya led the small group on a great tour, wandering through many laneways. She was full of interesting info & answered a diversity of questions well. The tour itself included not just chocolate shops, but a spice store (where chocolates used spices), a local artisan store (incl artisan chocolate), a dumpling house & a shop where chocolates were matched with cheeses (unexpected and strangely successful combos!). There was no pressure to buy, but often discounts if you did.

Great experience

Meg was great, her knowledge of Melbourne’s hidden gems was incredible and the chocolate tasting was amazing. Her energy was amazing. The tour was a perfect length and relaxed, it will open your eyes to many different types of chocolates and you’ll be surprised!

Wonderful tour, absolute birthday delight!

Such an amazing birthday surprise! Had the absolute delight of experiencing the 3 hour tour with my partner, led by the enthusiastic and knowledgeable Emily. An experience more than just eating some chocolate, learning about the city, its history and culture, while also learning about AND getting to try a wide range of delicious chocolate along the way. The staff at each and every store visited were extremely friendly and welcoming, excited to share some of their favourites from their chocolate offerings, all without any pushy or aggressive upselling tactics (the products spoke for themselves, we absolutely picked up some extra goodies throughout!) As the highlight of my "special day", it was an absolute pleasure to share the journey with Emily and all the amazing chocolate (and more!) retailers!

Chocoholic

Emily and Ivan were knowledgeable of the area and pointed out a few interesting facts about Melbourne, including one to the traditional land owners, and of course lots about chocolate! I took a punt on one that Ivan suggested and it was worth it! My only thing would be not to plan to eat a big dinner afterwards - you will be full so full of chocolate!

Fun and unique

It was really a fun and unique experience, and I recommend it for others. Not only do you learn about the chocolate, but some interesting things about the city as well.

Explored more than just chocolate!

Absolutely loved our tour with Ivan! We told him that we were new to visiting Melbourne and took us off track and showed us all the landmarks!

Walking tour choc-a-bloc full of sweets, chocolate and arcades

My fiancé and I were looking for something different to do in Melbourne so we booked our spots on a chocoholics walking tour that started in The Block Arcade. We were one of three couples on the tour, all of whom were Aussies who hailed from outside Victoria. Our tour guide Ivan was friendly, gregarious and very knowledgeable about Melbourne’s history, chocolate and desserts scene. We got to sample a generous amount of sweets and chocolates on this tour, and bought plenty of chocolates, hot chocolate mixture and spices for ourselves. We got some great chocolate recommendations and would definitely revisit some of the shops we visited on this tour. It was also really insightful to learn about the history of Melbourne’s most iconic arcades, laneways and buildings. I’d highly recommend this tour for groups of friends and couples who love their chocolate.

Amazing chocolate and dessert tastings.

We toured the Block Arcade and walked through beautiful lanes. Delicious artisan chocolate tastings and merchants. Ivan was a brilliant tour. Very knowledgeable and great sense of humour.

Tonia was great fun to be with. The chocolate shops were wonderful, all offering something a bit different but premium quality. We loved the tips about other places to see and things to do in Melbourne. Highly recommended.

A fun tour through arcades with unique flavours to enjoy

This tour was fantastic. We visited a heap of stores which were a little off the beaten track so would have been hard to find without our excellent guide, Ivan. I highly recommend this tour; we sampled chocolates that were unique to each store including chocolate infused with chili, spices, Davidson plum, and other interesting flavours that are hard to find in a typical store-bought chocolate. Highlights included visits to Koko Black, Only Mine, and Re-wine where we stopped for wine and cheese at the end of the tour. Ivan was very knowledgeable of Melbourne's history and also guided us through using the free tram service and cutting through department stores to shorten our walks between each store. Overall I highly recommend this tour!

Chocolate overload!

The tour was a fantastic experience with tasting loads of chocolate varieties as well as a cultural tour of Melbourne. Ivan took good care of us and was very interactive to the whole group and made the morning a chocolaty snack for the senses

Amazing Chocolate Tour

Mum and I went on the Chocolate Walking Tour this morning and we had Meg as our guide. She was absolutely amazing and made the experience even better. We went to 5 unique places and sampled their specialty Chocolates. We got a goodie bag with sample chocolates, water and a cool badge saying "I'm a chocoholic". We also learned some really interesting facts about the Block Arcade, Royal Arcade and the City. We highly recommend this. It was such a great day out!

Much more than what I had expected.

What an amazing experience. I had done this tour many years ago and was super excited to learn that it was now more than just visiting chocolate manufactures. This tour show cases what you can do with chocolate in ways that were both unexpected and unique. Its offers plenty of tastings and opportunities to try new and exciting flavours. It has a large focus on small and local suppliers. Bec, our guide was very knowledgeable offing lots of interesting facts about the locations we visited and Melbourne in general. If you love or even just like chocolate its a very pleasant way to spend 3 hours. You will not be disappointed.

An excellent tour with Meg who showed us some of the lanes of Melbourne and gave excellent advice of chocolate tasting. Bonus to finish with cheese tasting as well. Highly recommend 😊

Chocolate delight

This chocolate tour was AMAZING!!! Meg our tour guide delighted us with hidden gems of the city and gave us just the right amount of information without overwhelming us with facts! The chocolate was delicious. A huge variety of unusual chocolates and even some cheese pairings. Just enough information about the chocolate and the shops to whet the appetite and the tastings did not disappoint. We were a party of 4 with 2 teens and everyone was happy. The tour took just over 2 hours and not really a lot of walking between stops. If you are a local or a visitor add this to your “must do lit if you like chocolate - we highly recommend it.

Fun and informative!

Great guide. Meg was warm, interesting and informative. Excellent stops with a variety of chocolates in all varieties. We also enjoyed a 10% discount at each stop that you could use then or later in the day for chocolate goodies. Highly recommend this tour.

Great Chocolate tour, well organised and curated

This chocolate tour takes you to all the local chocolatiers in the area and you have tastings of their best and most unique creations. There is history in these lanes which the guide shares with excitement. The tour ends with an amazing chocolate extravaganza and is worth every dollar! Great activity for those wanting to explore the Melbourne chocolate scene and for chocoholics like me!
