Ghostly Experience

Very informative tour about Melbourne's History, our Guide Chloe was very good and looked and sounded like she loved her job, our meal at the Young and Jackson Hotel was very enjoyable, stay a few days and enjoy Melbourne, would recommend this

Interesting and informative.

We really enjoyed the ghost tour. We’ve been coming to Melbourne a few times a year for 17 years and it’s good to learn more about the history of Melbourne and it’s people. The tour is a great opportunity to walk up and down the little back streets that we’ve hardly even noticed in the past. Ash was our tour guide and she did an awesome job. The weather was great too which made the experience perfect. Great job Ash 👍🏻😁

More of a history tour. Much of the walk was poorly lit maybe good to have a couple more lanterns. It would have been good to go into some of the places instead of just looking at the outside of a building

Wonderful tour

came across this site while in Melbourne. I did a walking tour in London years ago and loved it. My wife is very in tune to the psychic and I surprised her with this. We did the old melbourne tour on friday night with Charlotte. Not only do you get ghosts, you get history too. Learned about the city and had a wonderful time. So much so that we decided to do the Pentridge tour as well. I went online and tried to book the pentridge tour but it was full. So I sent an email and quickly got a response and they worked us in as we have to return to the United States and could only do that night. Both tours were great, I dont "believe" in the ghosts too much but I will say this - I will NEVER go back in pentridge again. That place is creepy. You wont be dissapointed on the tours and if you can get Charlotte go for it.

Entertainment...

We take part of the ghost tour with Chloe. We don't believe in supernatural staff and so we decided us for the tour just for our entertainment. Chloe was a super tour guide. We enjoyed her storytelling skills, and loved the way she painted all the characters.

Fascinating way to learn about colonial Melbourne's history

Our tour guide was quite talented at re-creating the historic happenings and daily events of early Williamstown. Educational AND interesting to find out how tough life was back then, and how dangerous. Guide encouraged us to 'feel' the atmosphere, and to take photos. She offered us the use of dousing sticks and a 'geiger counter' which detects ghosts, which was a bit of fun.

Halloween Haunted Tour!!

I recently spent my Halloween doing the Old Melbourne Ghost Tour, and it was perfect for the occasion. The tour guide we had was awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed her storytelling skills, and loved the way she painted all the characters. She was personable and approachable, and kept her group together even tho we had some slower walkers. Highly recommended!

Made the most of our time!

Loved the tour! Most of all loved that we got to see the pics of others who have gone on the tour! I also enjoyed the stories of the prisoner's who were once celled there. I would highly recommend doing it.

Very entertaining

Facilitated by an actress. Very entertaining stories of the sordid past of Melbourne. Great for believers in ghosts as well as non believers. Sometimes the entertainment is just watching the believers in the group!

Lots of activity

I did the tour on a Sunday night which is rare for me but it was worth it to find out more about the history of Melbourne VIC, we started from the young and Jackson hotel and headed up towards some of the many lanes around Melbourne, I was quite surprised to learn about a ghost seen on platform 10 at Flinders Street station and some other ghosts reportedly seen nearby the guide was happy to answer any questions that we had and even talked about his own experiences on the tours he had done previously

Melbourne ghost tour with dinner

My husband and I did the Melbourne ghost tour with dinner at the Young and Jackson hotel! The hotel is very nice and the dinner was excellent! Our tour guide Charlotte was very informative and humourous! It was very interesting learning the history and ghostly details of Melbourne's past! Would love to do another if these tours.

Girls Night Out

My girlfriend's and I had a great night out on a tour of Melbourne with Ken. Would definitely do another one in the future with this company. Really interesting hearing all the tales of old and particularly enjoyed the story of Princess Theartre.

Ok experience, but wouldn't recommend for anything other than a history lesson.

Tour guide was good, but stories were not always relevant to Melbourne ghosts. Nothing overly scary or revealing about Melbourne's past. Was a bit of a skeptic going in, but kept an open mind, even more of a skeptic now though.

No help whatsoever

Our flight was delayed (supposed to leave Hobart at 1:30pm and then due to a flight cancellation and then a schedule change, we were unable to arrive on time for the tour. As soon as we found out, we called to advise that we couldn’t make it and to see if we could change the date. After doing another tour with Lantern Ghost Tours, this was going to be one of the highlights of our trip. However, no cancellation or refund policy apparently also means that if you get screwed over by the airline, then these guys are going to make sure that it is balls deep and not allow you to change to another date. Thanks - you have made a bad day a little worse.

Melb. Ghost Tour

Our tour was Sat 23/06/2018 @ 8.30 with Chloe, I have to say a big thank you to our guide, given she has trams, horses, beeping cars(welcome to Melbourne) rowdy passes by, she held the group interested throughout the whole experience, she has great knowledge of times gone by, took some pics- got something strange that I can't explain, a few tingles in one of the alleys where a young girl had been taken, overall a great experience- getting the girls together for the next one!! Can't wait........

Fantastic Spooky Tour

Great tour with an excellent guide. Takes you through the hidden laneways and encounter some ghostly tales on the way. Was busy due to other events going on in the city but would definitely recommend.

The central Melbourne ghost tour is more a gruesome history and back alleys tour than a ghost tour, but still good (3.5 out of 5 or better for non-believers). The things we used to do to each other on those pitch black, unsupervised evenings! :-( Knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guide, Chloe, had a great command of the English language and a good spiel. The atmosphere was hardly ghost like, but it opens ones eyes and makes one think twice about going down some dark back alleys, some of which were surprisingly interesting, especially those with street art. Worth knowing is that the tour winds its way from Federation Square up to China town, where it finishes (and evil spirits remaining are cleansed from within), with assistance provided to return to the starting point for those who may require it. Going on a cold, dark, quiet, foggy night would improve the atmosphere out of sight - something to think about when looking for something fun to do on a winter's night.

This tour was fantastic. It takes you through the little hidden lane ways that make Melbourne, Melbourne. Yes its more of a history lesson but it gets to the nitty gritty gruesome side of Melbourne's history which i found very interesting. Our tour guide was great. We look forward to going on another Lantern Tour very soon.

A nice evening out, most enjoyable

A very busy start due to the Moomba crowds, but once under way we found the experience very enjoyable . Our group was a bit large I feel but we all managed to keep up . Highly recommended and our guide Chloe did well with the with the busy evening .

Quite a large group of us about 20 people . Our tour guide was very good and interesting . Took us to about 7 different stops down alleyways etc with a story for each stop. If you like history with a bit of gory twist then go on this tour . Make sure you have good walking shoes .

I have been on ghost tours in other parts of the world, and this was by far the creepiest. You learn about the history of the prison, but the tour also aims to create an element of fear, if you like that kind of stuff, this is for you! We had a party of 9 for our daughter's 18th birthday, and everyone enjoyed the tour and all the information of the histroy we just did not realise of our city. Not really that spooky given how busy the city was, but still a lot of fun.</p>
