Amazing experience

What a unique experience. When they say small group, it was a small group. I was lucky to only be with 3 other travelers. I got to seat at the front, on the passanger seat. What an amazing way to discover the Great Ocean Road. Our guide, Alex, was just amazing. He made us feel like it was a family holiday and we were all discovering together. His knowledge on the environment was spot on. He took time to show us places with koalas, kangaroos, what more can we ask? The lunch in Apollo bay way outstanding. The best fish and chips I've had in Australia! Thank you for this amazing day.

Great tour, spectacular views and informative guide

Absolutely breathtaking scenery, great local lunch, plenty of bathroom breaks. Adam, our guide picked us up on time and dropped us back at our hotel. He was very knowledgeable and made the tour an absolute delight. He could spot a Koala or Kangaroo a mile away and he went out of his way to make sure we got to see them too. It was a fantastic day.

The tour itself was worth seeing, but the guide deserves special mention, as he always tried to create a pleasant atmosphere, answer any questions that arose and proactively provide the participants with all kinds of information. The tour's equipment also differed from that of other providers. The apparently quite new Mercedes bus was clean and comfortable. Great importance was also attached to good service. Extra stops were made to spontaneously show something off the actual tour, and you were dropped off directly in front of your own hotel on the return journey.

It was a great experience, would like to recommend to take the service once you could see the difference clearly, The best part is Spectacular view all around make you more relaxed which makes you more pleasant.

Amazing experience, and our tour guide made it a one to remember! Our guide gave us the best tips&spots to both capture the views in our minds as well as in ”postcard” pictures. Overall the great ocean road is worth seeing. Definitely would recommend!

Memorable journey

The Great Ocean Road tour we booked via Viator with Escape Discovery Adventures, (a small group all inclusive tour in a comfortable Mercedes van), was fantastic! Andy our guide and driver was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and patient! It was a long day but really worth it! We saw kangaroos in the wild and a couple of koalas. Visited Anglesea, Apollo Bay, the Apostles, and a cold temperate forest in Otway for a walk on the trails. The fish and chip lunch which was included in Apollo Bay was delicious!

What an amazing journey

What a great day tour! Andy was very knowledgeable about Melbourne, he explained so well about history, how this happened, what the famous areas in the CBD as well. Often tour guide doesn't have much understanding in the country or the city but he did such a great job. Loved every place that we visited, rainforest, beaches, and of course 12 apostles (not 12 anymore, only 8). Fish and chips along the water, great coffee on the way. It was an amazing day trip

Brilliant tour

Great tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. High quality vehicle, and well paced trip. Amazing views of the apostles and local wildlife.

Felt like a private tour!

Andy, was an excellent tour guide. He was a fountain of information and interesting tidbits whether it was a query about a structure, monument, local history, plant, tree, animal, and etc. We appreciate small group tours but, this felt like a private tour! It was a long 13 hour day so the small things mattered: bottled water, tea, and lunch included (and a guide who knew where all the good toilet facilities were located!). The Trip Advisor/Viator description says that you will be dropped of at your CBD hotel. This was news to our guide. Andy graciously dropped us all off, a potential mutiny avoided. Suggest you contact the tour operator and verify that a CBD hotel drop off is part of the excursion.

Simply The Best

The whole trip was a truly memorable experience. Andy our tour driver was extremely knowledgeable about the Great Ocean Road, it's history and geography. The numerous stop-off, look-out points and photographic opportunities were exactly right for the experience. We saw Koala feeding I n the wild, were able to stand in the great Southern Ocean, experience the temperate rainforest amongst other remarkable places. I would highly recommend Andy as a tour driver and leader and would like to thank him. This trip hugely exceeded our expectations!

More personalized way to see the Great Ocean Road.

A truly wonderful experience. Our guide Ben was a great host. He lead us through our journey with great care and enthusiasm. Having a small group at the very crowded stops along the way was a big plus. The views were spectacular. Ben took us to some uncrowned places along the way which made the trip extra special.

Great Tour- Great Ocean Drive with Adam

I’ve taken the same tour 7 years ago and I’m glad to see that this tour is still up and running and better as ever. Adam, our tour guide, was excellent. We enjoyed the information he shared along with his quick wit and humour. Very personable person and was always checking on the customers (do we need a bathroom break, is the A/C temp ok, etc…). Just overall nice guy. I actually forgot my jacket on the van which he brought back to the hotel. Can’t say enough good things about Adam. Adam usually does the private tours so we felt lucky that we had him that day as our guide.

Great Day on the Ocean Road

My wife and I had a wonderful day trip along the Ocean Road. Adam, our guide and driver, was exceptional - very knowledgeable, always ready with an answer to every question. He made sure that we were able to see koalas and kangaroos. The rain forest walk was one of the high points of the day. The day was filled with highlights too numerous to mention. 5 stars!

Fabulous 5 Star Customer Service & A Teriffic Tour

I cannot recommend this Company highly enough. On arrival in Melbourne from Scotland we received an email from our booking agent telling us that our trip the following day had been cancelled due to tour driver illness. However I contacted Paul, the owner of Escape Discovery Adventures, on the phone and given our obvious disappointment over missing a trip we had booked months in advance, he told us that he would personally take us on the full tour the following day in his own personal Mercedes SUV. The next day we were royally treated by Paul for the 11 hours of the tour and had a fantastic time. Paul is in incredibly friendly and knowledgeable guy who provide a terrific historical commentary on all the places we visited. He went out of his way to find us multiple close up sightings of Koalas, kangaroos and a multitude of other wildlife, took us rain forest and several beach walks, giving us some beautiful photographic opportunities. He took us to wonderful sightseeing locations and viewpoints, many of which could not be accessed by the multiple tours buses on the route. We enjoyed a lovely local coffee and cake stop, a delightful seafood lunch at a small secluded harbour restaurant and multiple refreshment stops throughout the day. The level of service from Paul was first class. Typical of the customer focussed service we found across Australia as a whole. It would have been easy for him to have just cancelled the tour. These things happen. But we will always remember his kindness, sense of humour, endless historical and local stories and for providing us with fantastic memories of a wonderful trip along the Great Ocean Road. Left disappointed

Really disappointed as the trip was cancelled due to lack of people booked on. Alternatives were provided but none were suitable and we had spent time hand picking this trip from reviews etc. communication was good but was left disappointed one of the main reasons for our trip to Melbourne and taken rather than going to Philip Island on a different tour as we thought we would see more of the area. We understand the reason for cancellation but does it does not a top us from being disappointed, hence the 1 star

Must Do Adventure

Adam and Ben were fantastic guides/hosts! Beautiful views and able to see kangaroos and a koala in the wild! I really enjoyed learning through Adam’s commentary and stories. It was a great day! I highly recommend it.

Brilliant trip not to be missed.

Our amazing guide, Brendan, arrived 10 minutes early for our tour and quickly had the four of us excited for the day ahead on a dark, cold and windy morning. Our little group had the extremely comfy and warm bus to ourselves and were treated to a glorious sunrise over the ocean. The day just got better from there as Brendan shared with us his vast knowledge of the area and accommodated us with extra stops not on our itinerary including a lovely cheese tasting. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough and even a spot of rain couldn't deter from the breathtaking views, both country and coastal, making this a truly memorable experience on our first visit to Victoria. We will definitely be back! Though this tour was more expensive than many others, I must say we got more than adequate value for our money with such a personalised and informative tour, and all to the perfect soundtrack tailored specifically for the four of us. Top job, Brendan!

Fun and relaxing scenic drive

Did this tour solo on my first day ever in Australia and really enjoyed myself. It's a long day and we got an early start but you cover a lot of ground and see some really amazing coastal scenery. With the early start we beat the crowds and it was nice to get back to my hotel in time for some dinner. I like that this tour is in a Mercedes van and the groups are very small which makes great for solo traveler as you don't get lost in a big crowd. Brendan was our guide and he was upbeat, energetic, and clearly loves his job. I learned a ton about Australia - I think he singlehandedly turned me into an Australophile with his great stories about Aussie history and the good music played on the ride. Highly recommended.

12 Apostles tour - Don’t miss it!

This tour was amazing! Brendan was our tour guide. He was very attentive and made sure everyone’s needs were met. Brendan was very knowledge. Lunch was delicious! We enjoyed all the stops. Feeding the Alpacas was a nice extra! Brendan made the trip home enjoyable with car karaoke using our favorite songs! I highly recommend this tour! You will not be sorry!

Worth it

Had a fantastic time with Brendan! He was very fun and entertaining. Travel was super convenient and the sites were very cool. The trip was worth it. The drive was very long though but the car was comfortable

A very enjoyable day trip to the area. Despite the occasional rain we had a great tour, saw plenty, learned all about Waltzing Mathilda, and had very tasty hot chocolate to end a chilly day.

A great day on the Great Ocean Road

I really enjoyed the tour, it was well paced with lots of stops along the way and a very comfortable vehicle. Paul the tour guide was very funny and engaging with lots of fun facts and stories, as an Australian (the only one on this tour) I knew some of the background he spoke of but the Melbourne/Victoria facts were generally new to me so it was still interesting. Paul also gave us options throughout the day for extra stops which made it feel more personalised and not just the stock standard tour - definitely felt like he cared about us having a great experience, not just getting to each location. The locations visited were visually stunning and worth dedicating a day to.

Excellent well-planned itinerary and experience

Paul gave us a great tour! All the sites were well worth it. He provided interesting history, background, and stories and was able to answer our many questions. Wonderful Great Ocean Road Tour

Wonderful day trip along the Great Ocean road! The twelve apostles were the highlight as we were afforded many opportunities for amazing photos with plenty of time at each stop along the way as well. Our tour guide also had taken us to a few of his favorite spots for lunch and a walk through the temperate rainforest which which made for such a personalized experience. He was entertaining and beyond kind and helpful from beginning to end.

We have just completed the Ultimate Great Ocean Road excursion with Escape Discovery Adventures. By far this is one of the best tour excursion companies we have hired in our world travels. Adam our driver and guide was an expert on the entire day trip. Adam was also great at spotting kangaroos and Koalas. The ocean scenery on this trip is spectacular. The Mercedes Van this company uses is extremely comfortable and required on this long day trip. We also loved the music in the van that themed with the journey. A well organised trip with lots to see

This was super. Adam was an enthusiastic guide who clearly knew his stuff and managed to find us koalas and Roos as well as rain forest, sea, beaches and apostles, and a delicious fish lunch. I echo the previous sentiments about well planned stops for restrooms etc and really enjoyed the playlist. We never felt rushed or herded, as we saw happening to other groups. I would recommend this company wholeheartedly.

Great, but long tour

Great trip, great views, great guide, but the day was too long and some of the stops were not worth it. Mayby a few stops less whould be better.

You need to take this beach road trip

Brenden is an excellent tour guide and driver. He really made the day! When we booked this tour we were looking for a small group in a comfortable Mercedes mini van. The local connections he has with the coffee stop and the marina lunch and the chocolate stop is important because it eases the time

Great small group experience

Paul was an attentive, informative and entertaining guide. The small group of 11 was ideal, it is fun to interact with other people from throughout the world. The food stops were good, lunch was delicious with the option to turn the fish and chips into grilled fish and salad for a healthy alternative. The Great Ocean Road and Twelve Apostles are a must see and this tour is a great way to experience them and more.

One of the best tours I've taken!

Our tour with Brendan was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Australia. We chose this tour for the smaller group size, and it was worth it. Everything was well organized, the van was comfortable, the stops were well chosen and well timed, and Brendan was an incredible guide. He brought great energy to the day, was fun to get to know, shared so much information about Australia and the sites we visited, and made a point of really connecting with everyone on the tour. By the end of the day, I felt like we had a new friend in him. I'm so glad we reserved a day for this. As I think about my next visit to Australia (one day), I may take this tour again - I feel like it would be enjoyable a second time around... that I would see things I missed the first time.

The Great Ocean Road Experience provides some of the most spectacular scenery and great opportunities to spot Australian wildlife in their natural habitat. Brendan’s commentary and music makes the trip a fun and memorable experience for all. It’s a must if you are visiting this part of the world.

What a wonderful day with Brendan our tour guide. Small party of 11 people from UK, Canada, USA and Singapore. Brendan’s knowledge of Australian history and heritage was excellent and lots of information about the wildlife was interesting and fun. Places you visit are beautiful the fish and chips were lovely. Great Ocean Karaoke

Where to begin. Well, perhaps at the beginning—a wonderful place to start. And what a wonderful start it was. Brendan arrived right on schedule and was super friendly right from the start. (For the record, that continued the entire day.) From there we were off to pick up our fellow travelers. Our way out to the Great Ocean Road (lives up to its title) was filled with interesting bits of information and chatter among our group. Let me say that this alone is a reason to book this trip—you really get to know the folks you’re spending time with. Yeah, the points along the way are beautiful. Yes we got the full experience by being subjected to powerful winds and rain that seemingly came from nowhere. But we also had bits of glorious sunshine that made this spring day a treat. Take the adventure, see for yourself. However, the real prize was spending such a lovely day with fantastic people. That’s what I remember—singing jams along the road and playing dj (graciously bestowed upon me by our intrepid driver). Thanks a million for that. You helped me fall in love with this country. That’s more special than you may know.

Full Day Tour that was absolute Perfection.

This is a full day tour not to be missed. Brendan picked us up at our hotel promptly on time. The van was super comfortable…plenty of leg room and spotless. Group of 11. Brendan clearly knows the road…he picked a great coffee spot and snuck in a side trip to see a light house. The cold rain forrest was a fantastic walk. Gorgeous flora. We did see koalas in the wild at Kennett River. Lunch was tasty. The 12 Apostles was the highlight for me but the walk down the Gibson steps was exhilarating…the way back up was a piece of cake. I HIGHLY recommend this tour.
