We only had a few days in Melbourne but wanted to see and do as much as possible. This tour checked a lot of boxes for us. Chris, our tour guide, was the perfect balance of history, excitement, anecdotes, and personal stories all along the tour. The sites were made better by him and his sharing of his love for the area! Highly recommend!

Great Way to see the 12 Apostles

If you want to see the 12 Apostles and you don't have much time, this is the tour for you. Orlando was our tour guide and driver and he was excellent. The important thing to remember is that the 12 Apostles is very popular and it will get crowded. Orlando always brought us one step ahead of the crowds! We got off to a nice and early start at 7am from our hotel and we arrived just before 10am. We were able to take fabulous photos because there were not many people around at that time. We even made the first helicopter flight of the day (well worth the cost); after us there was a long queue! Orlando was knowledgeable and friendly, and he made sure we were seated for lunch at the 12 Rocks Beach Cafe at Port Campbell just before the crowds started coming in. Because we made such good time, Orlando showed us a special sight (I won't spoil the surprise) that wasn't on the original itinerary. We made it back to Melbourne by 4pm in the comfortable Mercedes Vito (I hope I got the model right). Thank you Orlando for making our trip so enjoyable!

What a GREAT tour!! Jay was funny, informative and entertaining the entire time! Being in the front passenger seat gave me full access to his super personality and abundant knowledge. Especially loved the polite sarcasm! I highly recommend the tour!

Great Day on the Great Ocean Road

The trip was well worth it. The scenery was beyond belief. Jay was an excellent guide who took us to all the right places - koalas, kangeroos, and scenic places. He also suggested good restaurants and helped to take great pictures.

Stunning road trip

Best choice I’ve taken from my trip to Melbourne. It’s worth the money, the tour guide John made the all difference! He’s very kind, funny , knowledgeable and enjoy his job as well as the other tour guide from the same company who was driving on the same day. John did everything he could to accommodate us well and make sure we would have an incredible experience. I was on the same trip as Frank (who apparently left the a bad review here). And what I can say is do not listen to him. Everyone was having a great time, even the passenger who felt sick. It’s a road full of curves and some people can be more affected. If you are this kinda person, just be prepared and try to eat less, inform the driver that you need more time to rest, etc. I really don’t understand people who stays quiet the whole tour, do not suggest anything in person (what I’m pretty sure, John would try his best to attend) and waste the time spreading nasty comments here. The chocolate factory was nice too, good spot for a last break and buying souvenirs.

Loved the views! Jimmy chu was the best! Kept us on track and had plenty of time at each stop. It is a long day so be prepared, but it’s okay to take naps in the van

Great expérience

We spent 2 extraordinary days on a private tour with my husband in the Grampians and on The Great Ocean Road accompanied by our guide. Leanne, with her professionalism, invested 200% to satisfy us as much as possible. She tried to explain slowly because we understand and speak English with difficulty. Moreover, she added one more site which was not on the program: the Bay of Martyrs at sunrise, the tragedy of which she told us with passion. We were left speechless in front of its landscapes, each more beautiful than the other. The London Bridge, the Bay of Martyrs and of course the Twelve Apostles, the forest, the hikes in the Grampians with an incredible chance of having had 2 days of sunshine 🌞 Without forgetting the wildlife present. Leanne found the places with groups of Kangaroos and looked for Koalas we saw 4. Thanks to Leanne and Orlando for organizing this memorable trip which will remain engraved in our memories. Our guide Mathew provided us with an absolutely wonderful day. Our group of five friends wanted a private tour that would enable us to hit the high points of the Great Ocean Road in a friendly comfortable relaxed way. Breathtakingly Beautiful!

The reverse tour to the 12 Apostles with Hit the Road Tours was SPECTACULAR! Our guide Orlando led us to all the best spots and we avoided any crowds making the experience even more lovely. The sights were beyond beautiful and each stop was more breathtaking than the one before. The ride out was so comfortable and the stops for breakfast and lunch were charming and delicious. We loved every moment of this day and it was certainly enhanced by having such a terrific, knowledgeable and friendly guide as well as a comfortable ride, complete with great music! Again, a MUST DO! You won't be disappointed!

Mother Nature is an amazing artist

Orlando is an exceptional guide. He not only takes you to the tour spot but also tells you about points along the way. We had advised that a traveler had a gluten allergy and he was prepared with a restaurant that had gluten free options. The best part was the coast and the beautiful limestone carvings. It is mesmerizing to look at the waves crash against the limestone and continue to carve the stone. Don’t miss this beauty and Orlando is the guide to take you there.

Absolutely spectacular day spent with Orlando! We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day visiting The Great Ocean Road and The 12 Apostles… the day was a dream and Orlando made sure to take care of every detail from the coffee stop to saving us time by taking care of lunch in advance so that we could make the most of our day and make it back in time to catch our cruise!! He’s full of knowledge and delightful personality! Our day flew by from the most incredible drive across the rolling hills driving to the coast … and each new surprise at each of our stops! It’s a day for the memory books! We’re so grateful to Orlando for his expertise and hospitality!

The scenic landscapes on this journey are beyond words. Well recommended

Tour was well paced and we were glad we chose the express tours as the traditional route would have taken 3hrs longer. With 2 seniors and 2 teens in tow we wanted an easy day trip to take in the 12 apostles. Rio was a cheerful and safe driver and knowledgeable about the sights and Melbourne area. We learnt a lot! Hit the Road tours has tie ups with a Waves restaurant midway at port Campbell, which allowed us to preorder a nice lunch that helped to keep good timing 👍🏻 (steak sandwich is nice!) We recommend this tour with a very clean and comfortable mini bus 🚎 🙌🏻

Had wonderful time with Gui. He is a true professional. His briefing about the spots was excellent. He takes care of the tourist. He guided us through out the tour. Took us to all the spots. His knowledge about the route and spots is amazing. He is excellent person.
