Maui by Storm: Epic Private Luxury Road to Hana Adventure Tour

Great tour in every way.

Jaime the guide was amazing. So kind and thoughtful with numerous insights into the history of Maui. We hit all the spots the tour listed in good time.

Amazing Tour and Tour Guide

We had an amazing time on road to Hana tour with Jaime. She was great driver with a ton of local knowledge and history. We thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will book Hawaii By Storm and Jaime next time we are in Maui.

Best RTH experience!

Our party of 4 booked Hawaii By Storm for our Road to Hana excursion. It was AWESOME. Jaime, our driver, was informative, funny and entertaining. There was never a dull moment! Jaime knows Hawaiian history, culture and most importantly, how to navigate the RTH with courtesy and respect for other drivers and her passengers. We didn’t miss a thing and will definitely book again when back on the island. Thank you, Jaime!

Road to Hana with Dustyn!

Dustyn our driver and guide was fantastic!!!! He knew local history, was an amazing and proficient driver and kept us laughing all along the road to Hana. He knew the best spots to stop at and helped us navigate the water falls and the volcanic caves!!! He made our trip Epic!!! When u book ask for Dustyn!!!!

Great adventure!

Dustyn was our driver/guide and he was the best. He had great back stories and local history, navigated the road like a pro (fast but he knew every turn and bridge and blind corner), and pushed us to do all the activities we should. Totally worth the time and money. Ask for Dustyn though, cuz the guide makes a difference!

The Best Day

Originally we scheduled the Epic Hana tour which takes you backwards around Hana. However, within a few days of booking, the owner of Hawaii by Storm reached out to notify us the road was closed for construction and offered the Hana and Back Tour which I gladly agreed to. We booked Hawai’i by Stomr for the Ford Broncos and the option to have the top down! Leading up to the tour, we received emails and texts letting us know who our driver was and time of pick up. Our guide, Dustyn, was punctual. We immediately hit it off and headed out to the tour. He was super informative, took us to amazing spots including the Twin Falls, lava tube, black sand, and red sand beaches. His recommendations for lunch were perfect and delicious! We even stopped for coconut milk based ice cream - a real treat. We ended the day 11 hours later and a true friend next time we come back to Maui.

Must do trip!

Yesterday was the most amazing time exploring The Road to Hana! I highly recommend booking with Hawaii By Storm. The owner Sean helped with recommendations for other Maui outings. Our tour guide Dustyn is a local with a wealth of knowledge. He customized our tour for what we wanted to do. Save yourselves the stress and book with Hawaii By Storm!

Fun bronco tour!

Mak was a great tour guide and very well versed on all of the history and facts! He was fun and made the trip exciting for us. He took amazing photos of us and we had a great day with him!

Epic tour

"My wife and I have traveled extensively across the globe, and I can confidently say that our experience with Hawaii by Storm was nothing short of exceptional. On our very first trip to Maui, we had the incredible fortune of booking a tour with this company, and to our delight, the owner Sean himself was our guide for the day. Our journey along the Road to Hana was beyond anything we could have imagined. Sean’s expertise in navigating the winding roads while providing fascinating insights into the history, culture, and natural wonders of the area was truly outstanding. His passion for Maui and deep knowledge of its hidden gems made our day unforgettable. If you're looking for a tour company that offers more than just a sightseeing trip, I highly recommend Hawaii by Storm. Their dedication to creating memorable experiences is unparalleled, and Sean's guiding was the highlight of our entire trip."

Very blessed, God is in the details!

Hana is a special place. Our guide, Jamie, taught us so much about the aina, people, culture and history. I could feel God’s presence all day long.

Best Private Tour of Maui

For the last part of our Hawaiian Vacation, we planned to do a full day Hawaiian tour, but unfortunately the original tour guide of another company we booked with came ill and canceled the tour at 4:30am of the day the tour was to take place. In a hurry early that morning of trying to plan the perfect vacation for my 2 80+ year old grandparents, I was able to come across Hawaii by Storm and plan a tour at 6am with Sean, the owner of the company, who was able to get out incredible tour guide Tom, who took his personal day off to give us a tour, that would turn out to be one of best tours that me and my grandparents took on the Hawaiian islands. We signed up for the Hana and back tour, and truly had an incredible time. We first stopped at a beach to get some photos of the green sea turtles laying on the beach, and got some incredible images. Next, we started on the Road to Hana, stopping along the way comparing Aunt Sandy’s and Halfway to Hana’s banana bread, stopping at Hana Gold for chocolate, and the Waianapanapa state park for the black sand beach and to swim in the waterfall. Finally in Hana, we were able to stop at my favorite stop, which was getting hulu chicken on the Red Sand Beach, which was something that was on my bucket list. Throughout the entire tour, Tom was extremely kind, answering all the questions that we had about Hawaiian history, the local flora, etc, as well as being extremely accommodating for my grandparents who are hard of walking. The Ford Expeditions are extremely clean and comfortable, and were very easy for my grandma to get in and out of. Overall, I would recommend Hawaii by Storm to anyone who is looking for a private tour guide in Maui, as you will not regret booking from this company.

Best decision!

Best decision of our trip to Maui to hire Hawaii By Storm. The road to Hana was undoubtedly a better experience with their expertise. There were SO many things Mark brought to the experience to make it exceptional. We all learned so much and had so much fun! We will be back, we cant wait to see Mark on another adventure!

Loved our trip

Highly recommend Hawai’i By Storm and Jaime (as your guide). We did the open air Jeep Bronco tour for our family of 4. She has such a great personality and knowledge of Maui and makes the drive as smooth as can be. 10 out of 10!

Amazing Crew - Private Tour Only Way to Go!

I wish we could give a higher rating than 5 stars, this crew is top notch! From booking to day of, we were treated so well. They literally roll out the red carpet for their guest. Dustyn our driver is the GOAT, treated us like family immediately from pick up to drop off. He was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the Island, always taking time to answer questions. On top of his knowledge, he was an amazing driver, tour guide and photographer. There is no reason to do this trip on your own unless you want the driver to miss all of the great views and for everyone else to be nervous about the hair pin turns and blind spots. Book with them today - you won’t regret it!

Great Time on the Road to Hana with Dustyn M.

My family just completed our Road to Hana tour with Dustyn and it was an amazing time!! Dustyn was a great tour guide and provided detail about all of the stops!!! He even had good food recommendations! When we come back to Maui we will definitely request Dustyn to be our tour guide.

An amazing time

Jamie was amazing. We could not have had a better tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about the locations and history. Her personality was a down to earth with a genuine concern to make sure that she gave us the best tour she could.

Wonderful experience, Jaime is amazing

We did the Hana and back tour with Jaime. She was such a sweet soul and we felt comfortable with her the second we met her. She had lived on the island her whole life and had lots of great local stories and took us to some cool places. We really enjoyed our day with her and could not recommend this tour enough.

Excellent Way to do Road to Hana!

We are a family of six: parents plus four kids (ages 10-17). We were staying in Wailea and doing many activities in that area and along the western coast, but we wanted to go on one grand adventure, so we chose the Road to Hana. We did this private tour in July 2024, which was an excellent way to see the sights. Tom was a terrific tour guide! He is a very knowledgeable Hawaiian, who is also an Air Force veteran who has seen the world. The vehicle was an extremely comfortable, brand-new Ford Expedition. For our Road to Hana Tour, our sites included Ho'okipa lookout, Twin Falls, Kaumahina State Wayside Park, Ke'anae Peninsula, Halfway to Hana Stand, Upper Waikani Falls, Hana Lava Tube, Black Sand Beach, Wai’anapanapa State Park, Pua’a Ka’a Falls ... all in one day! Let me warn you that it is A LOT of driving and A LOT of windy roads, but Tom and the "Hawaii by Storm" team made it a wonderful experience! Highly recommended!

Best Day Ever!

We had the BEST tour of Hana with Mak last week. We debated on making the drive ourselves, but just a few minutes in to the trip, we were appreciating the fact that we booked a tour with Hawaii by Storm instead. First, the entire booking process was a breeze. I accidentally entered the wrong e-mail address and immediately received a phone call from the owner, because the confirmation e-mail was rejected and he wanted to check on the e-mail address. Then, the night before our tour, Mak called to introduce himself and give us the run down for the next day. Mak arrived right on time and after just meeting our family once, called everyone by name and treated us like family the rest of the day. Our first stop was the Island Market for breakfast. Since we had just arrived the day before, being introduced to this gem was a huge game-changer for the rest of our trip! On the trip, we always felt confident in Mak's driving and safe on a road that is quite challenging. As we drove, Mak shared stories and history of the island and answered many questions. He shares a love of basketball with our boys, so he even shared some information about pickup ball on the island and NBA trivia. Our stops and timing we planned perfectly. We made a few stops on the way up to Hana, but left some of the busier ones for the way home. One of those was a waterfall that was teeming with people on our way up. Our teenage son admitted that if Mak wasn't driving, he would have demanded we stop to swim! But, as Mak predicted, the waterfalls weren't busy at all when we stopped. Every stop was perfect and Mak did a great job of making sure we knew what to do at the stops and what rules were important to follow for our safety as well as respect for locals and Hawaiian culture. One of the stops my kids raved about the most was lunch! Mak recommended the poke nachos at the food trucks in Hana and we are still talking about how good they were. Everywhere we went, even while driving, Mak knew everyone. We heard stories about family, growing up on the island as a kid, and the Hawaiian ancestors and culture. Over and over, our family kept saying that we were so thankful we decided to book the tour. The general consensus was that we would have probably missed a lot of great stops, and fought a lot if we decided to drive the road alone. Book Hawaii by Storm and request Mak. You won't regret it!

Best private tour to Hana and back

Booked the Hana and back tour for $1200 with Sean which works out at just 100 bucks an hour. Tom was outdoor guide and picked us up from our hotel promptly with a cooler full of ice drinks. He was an incredibly nice and knowledgeable to guide who was desperate to make our day as perfect as possible. He went way beyond what the tour should have been taking us to extra stops to ensure that we saw the best sites of Maui. He knew everybody as we were driving around proved he was well known and go light and all the food stops new to talk to and what to get. He also loves a panoramic photography session and will take loads of great pictures for you in great places. The car was also awesome a new Ford expedition which was really comfortable He made sure he was giving us the best tour experience. We were ahead of the tour groups and he knew all the best places. We had our own private waterfall swimming and photo session, which was incredible. Great day out.

Hawaii by Storm is fantastic

I will have to say I rate Hawaii by Storm a 5 out of 5. I had a tour with Jaimie one day and she was so amazing I sent other family members a few days later with her spacificly. She's a local and knows Maui. Jaimie is an amazing and safe driver. I've been coming to Maui for over 30 yrs and Hawaii by Storm had the cleanest and comfortable vehicles. Jaimie is a fun guide and we will be using Hawaii by Storm on our next trip.

Road to Hana

MAK was a great guide and driver. The trip was one of our favorite things in Hawaii. Definitely would recommend this trip

Best experience ever!

The ride to Hana was the highlight of the trip for me and our whole family. Shawn, Jamie and Tom were the best guides ever. They all have so much energy and personality and are extremely knowledgeable about the island. They made sure that we had fun, we saw the turtles, swam at the black sand beach, jumped off the rocks at the waterfall, ate at all the great food spots and we laughed and sang all the way home to some great music. Great team, amazing people! Thanks to all 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💕

SIMPLY AWESOME!!

We were a large group of 17 people and did private tour with multiple vehicles. Everyone had a WONDERFUL time during our trip to Hana. Our tour guides were SUPER friendly and Fun. From taking countless pictures of beautiful scenay..to multple stops with delicious food..fresh fruits..waterfalls..beaches. we made SO many memories. This tour team is Great. We highly recommend.

WORTH THE SPLURGE!!! You're missing out if you tour Road to Hana any other way!

Our family of 4 took the Road to Hana tour in Hawaii by Storm's open-air Ford Bronco and WOW, it was worth every penny and more. I can't recommend taking a private tour instead of a group van trip enough - not only did we get much better views of the rainforest without a roof, but we got a very personalized, non-touristy experience with our guide Dustyn. HUGE shoutout to him, he was so welcoming and determined to ensure we had a great time, and so friendly that it felt like we had been life-long friends by the end of the day. He tailored the excursion to us instead of having to follow a rigid itinerary and also recommended his own suggestions for lunch, snacks, and stops! I seriously felt like I was getting a true Hawaiian's experience of the road to Hana. Also, if you have 4 people or less the Bronco is definitely the way to go as many of the amazing roadside views are actually above you on high cliffs plus everyone had a great view of the sights. I honestly can't imagine doing that tour with a roof in hindsight, we would not have been able to appreciate the scenery even half as much! The car itself came freshly cleaned and stocked with an ice cooler full of water and teas that we could throw our own snacks in as well, and a soft top on the car that could be closed if we got cold or it started raining... there were even umbrellas packed which came in handy because the sky will open up at any moment out there. The communication was extremely prompt from Hawaii by Storm, we corresponded many times beforehand about what to expect and what to bring, and they pick you up straight from your hotel so you don't need to get up any earlier than the day trip already requires! There were just so many little things that were very thoroughly planned out with our excursion that left me extremely impressed, and Dustyn was always thinking one step ahead to make sure everything went perfect. Overall it was the most magical day - we got to learn a great deal about life in Hawaii from Dustyn and got all the small but extremely crucial tips from him to keep the trip running smoothly, we were treated to such special views of east Maui from the open top Bronco, and most importantly, we got to make the day our own. I am so, SO glad we booked a private tour especially through Hawaii by Storm, and even more grateful we got Dustyn as our guide for the day! Private tours always seemed very luxurious but at least for 4 people, the price was extremely reasonable and genuinely worth the splurge. I can say without a doubt we would have missed out on a LOT of what made our experience so special and unforgettable if we had done a group van tour or a tour with a non-local instead.

Best day of our trip!

I can’t say enough great things about this company and Jaime. We had the most amazing day with Jaime last week! We decided late to hire a guide rather than try and make the drive our stop and it was the best decision. She stopped at all the places we were hoping to see and more, knew amazing history about the islands and just about everything along The Road to Hana, explained a variety of flowers and plants to us, and made sure we stopped at the clean rest areas and great food spots. Our 19 & 14 year old kids were talking about the trip and how fun Jaime was days later. I would recommend Jaime and Hawai’i by Storm to everyone. It was such a special and memorable day for all of us!

The road to Hans

We had THE. BEST. TIME with Dustyn today on the road to Hana. He was super fun to talk to and so willing to share about his life and family here on Maui. Taking a tour like this made it so that both my husband and myself could relax and enjoy the ride. Hawaii by storm is on the higher end of Hana tours but it was honestly worth it for the level of service and care provided. Aloha 🌴

Definitely best way to see Road to Hana

Our Road to Hana Bronco tour was amazing. Dustyn was an amazing tour guide – we loved hearing about his family and growing up on Maui. This is the best way to see the Road to Hana – nothing to worry about when someone that knows the best stops and can navigate the one lane bridges and hairpin turns. All you have to do is take in the beautiful scenery. Great stop at the end on Ho’okipa Beach to see all the turtles on the beach.

The Aloha Spirit

We had the most amazing tour with Heavenly! We had a family member not feel great and she was so very kind. She really knew about the island and took the time to get to know our family. We would highly recommend this tour group and especially Heavenly. We felt the spirit of Aloha!!

Hana was Heavenly - Pun intended!

We just got back from our tour today with Heavenly and she made the Road to Hana even better than we imagined. Not only did she keep us safe she embodies the Aloha spirit. We never felt rushed and she’s super knowledgeable!!!

Amazing Experience with Hawaii By Storm and Dustyn!

All I can say is that if you get Dustyn as your driver, you are going to have a GREAT time! If you get any driver from Hawaii by Storm, I also think you'll have a great time! Great company to deal with. Easy to book. Great communication. For our tour to Hana and Back, we had Dustyn - and as mentioned, he was amazing and did not disappoint! By the end of the day, it was like being in the car with family! You can do as many or as few things as you want along the route. Dustyn was a great driver and it was a blessing to be able to sightsee and not have to worry about driving. The Road to Hana was beautiful. If you're thinking about doing a tour with Hawaii By Storm, don't think anymore - book it!

Highly recommend!

We had a great time! Dustyn was our guide and he was AWESOME! Very friendly, accommodating and a great driver! Would highly recommend!

Perfect Road to Hana tour

We did the Road to Hana with Maui by Storm... and had a great day! We couldn't have had a better guide than Dustyn. He took us to all the poplar places and also shared things off the beaten bath. It was a perfect day and even our hard to please teenages loved it.

More than just a Trip to Hana

Request Mac. His knowledge of the Island, and all things Hawaii made this experience epic. We learned so much about the richness of what makes Hawaii, Hawaii!!

Incredible tour we will never forget all thanks to Dustyn

We had the pleasure of going on the Road to Hana with Dustyn accompanying us. We were picked up on time (in a very nice and clean car) and from the second we got in the car Dustyn made us feel like family. He explained how the day will unfold and asked for our input so that he could tailor the day to what best suits us. He made incredible recommendations, such as which lunch place he recommends (go to Braddah Hutt’s it was some of the best bbq style food we ever had!). Dustyn also accompanied us outside the car and took pictures of us on our journey and explained everything that we were seeing. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and most of all made the entire time so much fun! We were debating driving the road to Hana ourselves, but after going on our excursion today we are so happy that we booked this excursion through Hawaii by Storm. Had we drove ourselves, the day would have been stressful due to the windy and narrow roads and we would have never experienced the many cool things Dustyn showed us. We cannot say enough good things about Dustyn. We are so happy we had him as our tour guide and if we are ever fortunate enough to go on the Road to Hana again we will surely be requesting Cousin Dustyn to accompany us!

Amazing tour for anyone!!!!

I will try to express my happiness that my husband booked this tour. I was apprehensive on doing the road to Hana because we have 3 kids, 12, 10 and 4. When he booked this tour, we were excited but still wondering how it would go. It was INCREDIBLE!!! All 3 kids did absolutely amazing and even though the day was long, it didn’t feel like it! Dustyn is a complete professional and he because part of the family. He took us to all his favorite spots from waterfalls, hikes, a lava tube, food spot, beaches and then ended at the turtle beach. My whole family can’t wait to come back to Maui and take this tour again! Being able to sit back and relax during this drive was the best feeling. The Road to Hana is called divorce highway for a reason and getting onto the highway, I could definitely see it. Thank you for keeping our marriage in tact Hawai’i by Storm! 😂

So worth it!

Our guide Mark was awesome! We enjoyed learning cultural information and he made the trip so fun! I would 100% recommend this excursion!

Third Time’s the Charm

Mark was an excellent guide. As a local he had a ton of great information to share. This was my third time traveling the road to Hana and by far the most enjoyable. I would do it again!

Amazing tour!!

Dustin was the perfect guide!! We had a fabulous time. I highly recommend booking with Hawaii by Storm, ask for “Cousin Dust!!”😎😁

Must book Hawaii by Storm-Dustyn

Road to Hana is one my favorite places on earth! Made special by Hawaii by Storm awesome Tours. Dustyn was our LOCAL driver for the day- incredible with his history stories - knew all the perfect spots- a must the banana bread and the pizza along the way Great swimming, rainbow trees and black beach - Book NOW for a memorable adventure

RTH Adventure

Was so happy that we booked this and left this experience to the expertise of our driver, Dustyn. He knew all the places to stop and shared so much information about Maui that was useful for the rest of our visit. We did activities and made stops that we wouldn’t have otherwise known about and they were some of the best parts.

Best Tour ever

Wow, we had an amazing time during our private tour. Family of 5 ages 10-41. We felt safe driving with our guide, stopping for banana bread, Ice cream in the side of the road, Hulu Hulu chicken, swimming in hidden waterfalls, climbing into random holes in the ground that were so beautiful. Only way to do the tour was with the company and their Maui natives.

Great tour on Road to Hana

Dustyn gave us a great tour of Road to Hana. The area past Hana is currently closed, which we were advised about weeks in advance. Traveled with two kids ages 10 and 13. Dustyn was great with them and very flexible to give us options on places to stop. Highly recommend booking a tour- he knew all the spots, took care of reservations and parking, took lots of fun family photos, and was a great driver. Our running joke of the day- Pandas should be on Hawaii and “I believe in you”. Thanks Dustyn!

A Must Do!

We had an amazing time. Our tour guide was Dustyn and he made us all laugh. It is an all day tour where you visit a black sand beach, waterfall to swim in (watch out very cold🥶) and see a beach of turtles. P.S. There is a huge amount of bamboo there so if possibly smuggle pandas in. P.P.S. If you are looking to loss weight you can do the panda diet (straight celery). Words of Wisdom! Don’t pee on electric fences!

Awesome Day Trip

I read so many mixed reviews about the Road to Hana - I wasn't sure whether to do it. So glad we did. Tom was our driver and he was awesome. Having a private knowledgeable driver vs doing it our selves made all the difference. No worries about where to stop, every place Tom took us to see/eat was great and he knew where all the bathrooms were! I was surprised by how many delicious food options there were - we had banana bread/coffee, malasadas, fish tacos, poke, fish & chips, shave ice, chicken, and there were options for pizza, and other foods. Favorite stops were the red sand beach, black sand beach and a view near Woody Harrelson's home (can't recall the name). Hawaii by Storm were great - worth the money and an excellent way to start our Maui vacation.

Great experience and worth every penny!

Such a great experience with this company! Booking is super easy, they are very flexible with your itinerary and most importantly they are super reliable and safe. We were so lucky to have Dustyn as our Guide on the Road to Hana. He is super friendly, very knowledgeable, a Maui native and knows all the secret spots! He provided great history of the island, made the trip super fun, took great photos and we all felt so relaxed and comfortable with his driving. I was so happy not to drive it myself. I highly recommend Dustyn as a guide. By the end of the trip we felt like he was one of the family. We will for sure use this company again and ask for Dustyn the next time we are back in Maui.

Amazing trip to Hana!

We had such a great trip on the road to Hana! I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, personalized experience. Dustyn was an amazing guide who made the trip so much fun! We were safely guided to all of the stops, had a delicious lunch, listened to great stories about the island and Hawaiian culture, and sang along to some great tunes! He made the trip really enjoyable and drive safely on those twists and turns. If you want a great experience where you can focus on the sights and not the road, choose this trip and ask for Dustyn!! Wonderful all around!! Thank you!

This Was the Trip of a Lifetime

We had a wonderful private Road to Hana tour with Mark. He was so knowledgeable about the history of the island and the best places to stop for pictures, food trucks, Maui chocolate, Coconut Glen's ice cream, and a very nice picnic area for our lunch. We were able to do the tour at our speed and stop wherever it was safe to take pictures on the road and at the most scenic places that were easy to get to for us. Mark was such a friendly, caring, and fun person to be on the tour. We booked a convertible Broncho tour and was able to take the trip with the top down and enjoy the scenery all around us. Even though the back side of the road to Hana was closed, Mark made the trip very interesting by stopping at alternating highlight areas on the way up and back the same route. We highly recommend this company and this tour. It was well worth the money spent and we thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

Maui Ohana Life

Absolutely the best tour ever! Very informative-chilled-laid back! Very comfortable with our tour guide-Makala aka Mac! He made us all feel like OHANA! We learned soooo much about the island, culture, history, food, waterfalls and saw a momma whale teaching her calf how to flip! I will never forget it!

Road to Hana - Totally Worth It!

This was such an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Maui! It was such a great way to see a majority of the island. We were lucky enough to be paired with Dustyn as our guide and he really made the day that much better. He shared so much history of the island and a ton of fun facts about each place we visited. Compared to other tours I researched, we saw so much more that the Road to Hana has to offer. The views the entire time were second to none. Visiting the black sand beach and being able to swim in the waterfalls were definite highlights along with the most incredible lunch spot that Dustyn recommended. Definitely the best meal we had on our entire trip. While it does take up an entire day, it is well worth it and I could not recommend this experience enough!
