Disappointing in Comparison to Other Tour Companies

This tour unfortunately fell short of expectations, especially when compared to experiences with other tour companies. Regrettably, the most memorable aspects of this tour were all negative. The tour comprised 17 people, and the bus provided was old and noisy, lacking a microphone, forcing the driver to raise their voice to be heard. Additionally, we were instructed to wait on the side of a road with passing cars exceeding 100km/h to be collected, which felt unsafe. As the last passengers to board the bus, my companion and I were situated at the front, unexpectedly tasked with managing the antiquated bifolding door and ensuring all passengers were aboard before departure. This responsibility seemed disproportionate for only two individuals in our group, leaving us puzzled as to why it wasn't the driver's duty. It was evident that the tour had overshot its original booking, causing inconvenience and dissatisfaction among the venues visited. Having previously enjoyed tours with other companies in both the South West and Swan Valley regions, this experience fell short and left much to be desired. Overall, while other tours in similar regions had been delightful, this one unfortunately failed to meet expectations, resulting in disappointment.

Good experience, Jarvis wines was the pick of the day. Lunch was lovely at brewery, was a good day out.

Margie’s for beginners tour

This is a wine tour for a younger crowd or inexperienced wine tasters. You don’t get a ‘tour guide’ you get a driver basically. More interested in sitting in the bus and watching his Netflix. Communication between your group and venues was very poor, as a group we found ourselves sorting many things ourselves. The brewery’s disappointing.

Extensive wine tasting experience!

Great experience - pretty extensive tasting at 3 vineyards (6-8 wines for each one), all lovely wine and great hosts. Lunch is good, we were there for a while and we might have wanted slightly more substantial food. Brewery at the end was great.

Brillant day!

Great day with Dan and two other couples, had some good laughs about the age gap between us and the other couples. Overall great day and brilliant wine selections. The few places we did stop was Jarvis estate, woody nook, bootleg brewery for lunch but the best was probably Gabriel chocolate after lunch. It was brilliant to go to a not so popular choice for a change. After that we made two more stops and they were both great selections. A day definitely worth the money

Fabulous experience!

The whole day was fabulous, the driver made it so enjoyable, a great host. The vineyards/breweries we visited were good and friendly.

Had a great time, very relaxed & fun experience. Went with family who had never done a wine tour before and they enjoyed it. Only wish we saw a couple more wineries but understand the time could then be endless!

Couldn’t recommend more! The best Margaret river tour you could do, so much included and great variety of stops. Dan was also the best tour guide, such a lovely guy. Make this your Margaret river tour for sure !!

Great day out exploring the Margaret river wineries, breweries and chocolate maker

Great day out with Dan who was very pleasant, friendly and professional. He took great care of us to ensure we had a fabulous day. The tour was fun with some lively Irish lads on our bus! The wineries and breweries were great as was Gabriel’s chocolate visit.

Fantastic day with a great host in Dan, but what makes a good wine tour is the group you’re put with and lucky for my husband and I, we were put with a great group. Wineries & breweries were good, however my favourite and the best by far was Jarvis Estate……the wit and humour of Ulf was fantastic, a great ice breaker to start the tour & contagious. It was also great to see Ulf talk through his craft and not feel like we were being rushed. The lunch catered for on this tour at a brewery was pretty ordinary, however the brewery itself, especially the outdoors was awesome.

Staff at Wineries and...

Staff at Wineries and Breweries were great, other ladies on our tour were awesome. Very disappointed we didn’t have any commentary on the bus so didn’t actually know details until arrival at the destination and direction on arrival was minimal.

Great people and venues

Small, fun group of now new friends. Our tour guide was very pleasant and personable. We went to nice venues but would have liked at least one bigger name winery. We had a great day but we feel we didn’t quite get the full experience as advertised, light on the gourmet lunch and missed the cheeses, and felt a bit rushed at a couple of the places. Still, overall, a lovely fay

Best wine tour yet

Fantastic day. The group we had were very friendly and ready to party. Russell was very accommodating to this singing etc on the bus. His play list rocked. A little more food at lunch and it would have been perfect.

Best day out! Stunning vineyards with excellent wine, plenty of variety. Fun coldies at the brewery’s. Russell is a fabulous host, relaxed pace with plenty of tasting, fun tour and excellent value.

Pretty average

We were very disappointed. The lunch was chips to share, one chicken wing and a very poor cheese platter. Not what we expected at all for $140. I understand that our tasting were included which was good but lunch could have been much better. Our driver Stewart was also very rude. He yelled at the group for taking too long to get back on the bus and had a go at me, calling me rude for taking a phone call from a family member at a wine tasting, making me hang up. There were around 15 other people doing the same tasting and there was one lady on her own so I didn't think it would have mattered taking a quick phone call. Overall we were pretty disappointed by the experience.

Gorillaz

The venues and the lunch was amazing the only issue we had was the driver he called me and my group of friends Gorillaz it may have been a joke not sure but the fact he called us that name wasn’t fare at all we not creepy vibes from him too other then that it was amazing.

Was an amazing experience and very convenient to be picked up and dropped off for the tour. The driver was lovely and all the wineries were beautiful. With lunch included it was worth every dollar

Wouldn't book again

Not what we expected to be honest. This tour advertises a beer and wine tasting with three tastings included. We went to Rivendell winery and Wills Domain winery for tastings so only 2 included. No beer tastings at all. Went on a tour last year which brought paddles of beer to sample with jugs of each beer at no cost. Had to pay for many drinks and the driver was not informative at all. Played very loud head banging music on the bus which is ok I suppose when you've had a few but not at 10.30am. Would have rather him communicate where we were going. The clutch had gone on the bus and stalled several times indicating that we were nearly ready to break down. Would not book this tour again. You do not get what is advertised. Long story short it cost us $ 120.00 each for two tastings and lunch.

Disappointing

My partner and I have done a number of whole day wine tours in the south west and this one is definitely NOT recommended. Russell the bus driver didn’t even bother to introduce himself when we got on to the bus, and then proceeded to drive like a manic for the next one and half hours picking up everyone all over the place before the tour even started. We had to pay for two out of the three wine tastings, no commentary throughout the day about the region, the wineries, breweries or other places we were dropped at- we were simply dropped at locations and left to it- the beer places we went to- no tastings just left to wander in and buy a drink! Most of the others on the tour were disappointed by the lack of info and interaction and I felt sorry for the interstate visitors who were given no info on the region. There are far better companies to spend your money on. Don’t patronise this business.

Lovely friendly wine tour

Fantastic day exploring the wineries and breweries of the Margaret River region. Wonderful guide took us to some less well know but excellent wineries, lovely lunch at the brewery and a stop in at a chocolate maker. Good group of people on the tour and a lot of fun.

A grand day out

A grand day out. Right balance of tasting and travelling. Two of three wineries very good, one did not suit my palate. Lunch was excellent, and washed down with a tasting paddle of beer. A great way to see the range of produce available in Margaret River

Apart from a mistake at the start where we were not picked up, we were in a group of 9 people with our driver and we all got to know each other throughout the day, and the wine tasting was fun, the lunch was amazing, followed by cheese and chocolate, we all bought some, then the gin place at the end. Such a fun memorable day, well worth the money, my boyfriend and I loved it, especially getting to meet other people.

Not what I expected, more a bus transfer

Our tour didn't really match what was advertised. Lunch was a meal (included in tour price) at Black brewing co, but there was nothing gourmet about it - think burgers and pizza. We had to buy drinks. We had two wine tastings included which were good and one which was an additional $5 which was not. There was no cheese tasting at all and chocolate tasting was essentially what anyone could get if they walked in off the street. Went to colonial brewery but everything was at our expense. It was nice enough being driven around but consider if it's worth the price...I think there are cheaper tours where you'd get the same.
