Snowdonia & Chester Day Tour from Manchester Including Admission

What an excellent day!

I chose this specific tour with Rabbie because not only was it a small group tour but also because it included admission to Conwy Castle; and boy was I not disappointed! The town of Conwy was absolutely gorgeous especially from the view at the top of the towers from this 13th century medieval castle. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Simon was an excellent tour guide who shared history and facts from a vast amount of different topics. I highly recommend this tour if you're visiting Manchester!

A relaxing day out and gorgeous countryside.

My husband and I do not usually take organized tours when on vacation but compared the cost of renting a car with taking a tour and it seemed reasonable so thought we'd try Rabbie's. We're very glad we did! Our guide, James, was knowledgeable and personable, the spectacular Snowdonia countryside was gorgeous and the town of Chester was very interesting. It was an enjoyable day and we got to take a break from planning everything ourselves.

Great small tour group experience

Traveling in Wales is challenging if you don’t want to drive. We really wanted to see the northern part of Wales, so looked into tours. We chose Rabbie’s because they have small groups and don’t herd you like cattle. They transport you, explaining the history, geography, etc while you are driving and then give you time to explore. Darrin was very knowledgeable and personable, and also a good driver.

Chris and Ritchies Big Day Out 😜

I fully enjoyed every place we stopped. But the best part was the learning of Welsh history and music , the tour guide Chris was very knowledgeable but gave a modern twist to the folk stories, he and Ritchie were very personable and all on the bus had such a great day. Chris nailed it — what a fabulous day!

I thought this day trip was absolutely fantastic and our guide, Chris, was a huge part of making sure the day was a smooth one. I loved getting to see Conwy Castle and the small town of Conwy — including “The Smallest House in Great Britain.” Snowdonia National Park was absolutely stunning. I found the city of Chester to be a bit underwhelming, but it’s tough for anything to follow the sights of Snowdonia. Personally, I would have preferred 20 more minutes riding around Snowdonia and a bit less time in Chester, but I’m just being nit-picky. The trip included many sights and the commentary by Chris was superb. For an authentic Welsh meal, I would highly recommend the “Welsh Rarebit” from Alpine Coffee Shop in Betws-y-Coed. Just make sure you’re a fan of lots of cheese! Chris mentioned that we were running slightly behind schedule, but we made it back to Manchester at roughly 7:25pm. On a trip like this, it’s not possible to satisfy 100% of everyone’s preferences, but there was a clear effort to accommodate everyone’s vision for the day. Overall, it was wonderful and I recommend it highly.

Snowdonia is beautiful

Simon is a great storyteller and a very good driver. We have had a wonderful day in the castle, Snowdonia and Chester.

We personally would have preferred more time at Snowdonia national park to do a small hike over the time in Chester. By the time we got to Chester shops were closing

Rabbies is simply the best option

Rabbies as a tour operator with their smaller busses is a better option than the operators with the large coach busses. It is a much more enjoyable touring experience. Our driver Chris was knowledgeable and entertaining. He was more than a driver he was our host for the day. I am looking forward to my next tour with Rabbies.

Wonderful day trip!

Really wonderful experience. Due to the length of the drive sometimes there is not a lot of time in the towns - but still very enjoyable and would highly reecommend!

An AMAZING day in Wales & England

I cannot say enough good things about the tour itself, but especially our guide, Shara, who was AMAZING. Such great energy and shared really interesting stories and insights as we were driving through and/or getting ready for our stops. Frankly, we wavered on whether this one-day trip was worth it from Manchester, and it actually ended up being our favorite day of the entire vacation. The time spent in each location was the perfect amount, food was available at each stop if you wanted, and the views/vibes were fantastic. Legit, loved it so much!!!

A Fabulous Day

Great tour, lovely sights, and a wonderful tour guide who had only been on the job three weeks but was an absolute pro!! Enjoyed every minute of this tour and highly recommend the company.

Fantastic place to visit

Extremely enjoyable tour with wonderful scenery in beautiful North Wales made more so with driver Rob. His entertaining commentary on local history, folk lore and best spots to visit were priceless. Only downside to the day was the weather

Ever adult will love this!

So wonderful. It was raining the day I went, but as it would in this area, so I didn't mind considering I was expecting it to rain. The trip itself was fantastic, our driver Rob was amazing and I definitely recommend!

Lovely taste of Wales

Great trip! Rob, our guide, was very knowledgeable & told interesting stories. I particularly liked the way he included music from the area along the journey. Just the right amount of time at each stop to wander and explore.

A Fabulous day out!

The castle and Chester were amazing, especially with the wonderful weather that day. Snowdonia was also wonderful with distinctive scenery. Shara was a fabulous guide, the full entertainment package. Her experience in drama really brought another dimension to our trip. A good level of information presented in a way that we could all pay attention to and remember. Excellent advice on where to eat and what to try. Some beautiful music was played although some was not to my personal taste.

Wonderful day in Wales

Exploring the battlements of the Castle Conroy and the surrounding Town was a memory of a life time. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very entertaining.

Cracking Day Out

Went on the Snowdonia & Chester Day Tour from Manchester. Stunning views and Chester was a real gem. Guide was knowledgeable and funny. Only downside was the bus was a bit cramped. Still, a top-notch way to spend a day. Would recommend to anyone looking for a break from the city.

Perfect Day Trip from Manchester!

Took this tour 3/9. Fabulous day trip from Manchester. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Wales. His commentary on Chester and Manchester was also very good. Comfortable, clean coach and the timings were just right!

A nice day out

A wonderful day, loved all the stops and the guide and trained were both very nice and helpful. Chester had not been on my list of places to go but I loved it, especially the cathedral.

Amazing Experiance

In one word: Wow. In many words: I scheduled this trip with some Hesitation, my first time on such a solo trip, with a some broken English, and mediocre orientation. So I was a bit afraid but I went for it! And I'm so happy that I did! Early in the morning the group met with Chris exactly at the exact place they instructed us to come to (Google Maps directed me, and also good people helped me easily when the app didn't work). Chris was waiting by the minibus with a big smile when I arrived! He was kind and full of- positive energy, love for people, history, imagination and travel. Chris has excellent abilities in forming a group and a wide knowledge that left us speechless. The trip itself was a pleasure - we had the option to travel separately when parked or join each other as a group, while the meeting point was clear and we were assured that no one would be left behind. I learned so much on this trip. Chris gave his heart and soul and although he seems to be just recovering from a slight cold, he hasn't deprived us of any small piece of information accompanied by his radiophonic voice and infectious laugh This trip was full of knowledge, brilliant stories, laughter and music. it was suited to singles, couples, adults or young people and a wide range of character types. From the shyest to the star of the trip - everyone felt relaxed and comfy. it's a wonderful trip, but above all - it is an extraordinary guide. Highly recommend with lots of love! Sit back and relax on this one day roadtrip

This is a great day trip from Manchester if you want to visit northern Wales. Our driver (Chris) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the areas being passed or visited on the trip. Really enjoyed driving thru the English/Welsh countryside. Conwy Castle is in a picturesque area (but beware, the sea gulls will take the food right out of your hand). Driving through Snowdonia was beautiful. The mountain lakes were very blue and we saw lots of sheep and a few goats. Betws y Coed is very cute - the train station is pretty. Walking along the castle walls in Chester was fun - lots of shops and architecture to learn about. Chris was a great story teller about Welsh and English folklore and history and he played good music. It was nice to just sit back and relax on this mini road trip.

Highly recommended day tour!

A lovely tour, perfect day. Our guide Chris' enthusiasm was contagious and set the tone for the whole day from the start. He displayed exceptional knowledge of the area and made provided an extra surprise stop for a wonderful photo op. All stops were excellent.

Informative and enjoyable

We found the history lessons, stories and folklore shared by our driver Darren to be informative, entertaining and so enjoyable. This information made exploring the various locations much more interesting and layed the foundation for greater understanding and enjoyment. We would recommend this tour to all. It is a day filled with exploration, shopping and breathtaking scenery. We found the length of stays at each stop to be adequate to see the highlights and the recommendations from Darren were very helpful. Small bus tours are now our go to.

Loved Snowdonia, Chester and Conwy..

Terrific tour with our guide Darren. He made it special with his terrific knowledge of history, facts and general engagement. Never a dull moment and kept interesting the entire day. North Wales in one day, memory forever!

Tour was awesome! Tour guide Chris is excellent! More than we had hoped for! We mapped out visiting Conwy Castle on our own, not only would it have been a waste of time and money as that would have been the only destination of the day, we would’ve also missed the opportunity to visit Snowdonia, Chester, Betws-y-coed, to drive through the Welsh countryside with beautiful views of the sea and would have missed hearing the best and greatest stories that Chris, our very charismatic tour guide enthusiastically shared! We couldn’t have picked a better provider and they couldn’t have set us up with a better guide. Hats off to Chris! Also appreciated his great playlist! Thank you for facilitating a great birthday memory that neither my husband nor I will forget.

Excellence and nothing but excellence

We joined the tour on 7 July 2023 with Chris as our driver/guide. The itinerary and small group style were no different from other tour operators, but Chris made a difference. One of my family members is autistic and tactile sensitive. He took the trouble to negotiate with other passengers and arrange the front seat for him and stay away from the crowd. Definitely a caring and customer focused person. His narrative about the places and stories was humorous and funny, able to capture the attention of the yawning passengers, especially after lunch. The 'excellence' of this tour, I must highlight, was his customer focused attitude, ready to go an extra mile to satisfy his customers. According to the itinerary, only 1 hour is allowed in beautiful Chester. He gave us a double (despite his overtime) and allowed ample time for us to visit the Cathedral and the alleys. The photo ops on the way were really unexpected bonuses. We were so happy with his performance that we immediately joined the Peak tour with him on 9 July. Highly recommended.

Waste of time and money

The tour "Snowdonia, North Wales & Chester" has the ambition to give participants the opportunity to visit many places in just one day. However, we ended up not having enough time to visit any of those places properly. The part of the tour dedicated to Snowdonia was ridiculous: we just drove past the region for a few minutes. Many participants, including myself, expected to spend a bit more time in the Snowdonia. Then we headed to Chester where we stayed for just one hour, which is too little even to have a proper walk in the city centre. The programme in the website says that the tour finishes at 19:15. Unfortunately this is not true because the driver dropped us off at 18:30 at Manchester Piccadilly station. We could have at least spent a little more time in Chester. I expected to have a good experience from this tour and I trusted Rabbie’s, but I was truly disappointed. It was just a waste of time and money.

Value 100%, but small thing could be improved

We went to Snowdonia & Chester tour from Manchester on 24th of June at 8:30, our tour guide was really nice and helpful. The only thing I would suggest to the tour operators, it would be amazing if families with small kids would travel separately, because kids usually like playing and talking loudly, and it is not interesting for them to listen the guide. In our minibus we had 3-4 kids, because of their noise, I couldn’t hear much what our guide was saying in the minibus, sadly. It was so loud and noisy.

Really great tour, absolutely beautiful scenery. Tour guide was lovely and very informative. I would recommend this tour to anyone as you really see some amazing locations.

I enjoyed the trip...

I enjoyed the trip thoroughly.The day trip included many places in North Wales and Chester. I only felt if the bus could give some more stoppages in Chester. Because we could not cover a large part of Chester in 1 and half hour break.

Nice day at Conwy, Snowdonia, and Chester

We had a great time with Chris showing us around Conwy Castle and town. Then onto Snowdonia National Park, and then finishing up in Chester. Well worth it and we'd definitely do another tour with Rabbie's tours. Next time we're going to try the 3 day version.

It's was a lovely tour. We didn't expect that it will be that nice. And the weather is good so we really enjoy it. Highly recommend 👌

Great day trip to Wales.

I like that there were 3 different sights. We also got out of the bus 2 other times for phots at Snowdonia. Chris, our driver was great and provided just the right amount of commentary. It was nice that you got to explore on your own. I thought the length of time of the stop were appropriate, but some may find them too long or too short. That is just personal preference. I would have liked a bit more time in each stop as I tend to want to see everything and sit and grab a bite or a drink but there was not enough time to do both. I would say more time in Chester would have been nice as it is a really nice town and worth exploring.

The tour was really nice, beautiful places to see. Conwy was a sweet little town in Wales , wish we've had more time there. Snowdonia was really wonderful with scenic landscapes. Our guide Chris was fantastic. He was a very entertaining storyteller, made us laugh a lot, had an excellent choice of music and really kind. He made the tour to an amazing experience! ✨

A Great Day

This was our second Rabbie trip this week! Another amazing experience! Loved Conway castle and town. Snowden park was amazing! It would have been great to perhaps stop at another location for more photo opps in the park. Chris actually added a stop as is. Chester could have been the day on its own. Chris, our guide/driver was fun, knowledgeable, easy going, and professional. These two trips with Rabbie makes us want to take everything they offer. Love the philosophy and intimate/relaxed experience.

Great tour day

Easy to find starting point. Tour drive was great, punctuality was spot on. Enough time to walk around the different places and take pictures. During the ride, Clive had loads of different stories to tell. Day well spent.

Great Trip

What a perfect trip. It was the first time for my wife and to visit Wales and we couldn't have selected a better introduction tour for it. James (our guide) was the perfect combination of knowledgeable and funny. He was able to weave in the history of each place we visited in such a way that made it interesting to everyone on the bus. The small group setting made moving from location to location much easier and the photo ops much less painful than a large group may have been.

Missed the entire tour location too vague. Beware.

Missed the tour…location, location, location. Despite repeatedly attempting gnto het an actual address for the location of the meeting place I was not sent one, or even a pin so that I could find the tour. We arranged our trip to Manchester exclusively to make this all day tour. We were left flat. Very disappointed. Also, we booked through Viator and paid far more because of it. Book directly through the company and not Viator

Fun! Best experience, small group tour

Amazing! Unbelievable guide Darren and the sights were breathtaking! Can't believe how much fun and insightful he was. He incorporated stories and music for each place we visited and we were given ample time to explore.
