What a magical experience this was…Tim was a fantastic host and we are so glad we did this tour. The whole experience was 5 stars…and the wild life spotting was the cream on the cake.

Sunset on West Point Beach.

Watching the sunset on the secluded and pristine beach was a lovely experience. Tim provided everything to make it comfortable and enjoyable-chairs,drinks and tasty nibbles.

We had a fantastic time with Tim and his lovely wife, Sarah. Tim was very knowledgeable of the area, and took his time to ensure we had an amazing experience. We enjoyed champagne and delicious nibblies watching the spectacular sunset. Highly recommend this tour.

A must do tour

The perfect way to see the western part of the island which requires the right vehicle & know how- Tim offers this and more. His enthusiasm and knowledge shines through & you learn so much while enjoying the scenery. The sunset is a unique experience - you won’t be disappointed if you do this tour!

A wonderful tour to an area less traveled

What a fantastic way to spend and afternoon/ evening. The guide was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna in the area and shared the history of the area as well. Makes for an enjoyable tour!

Brilliant unique Magnetic Island experience

An absolutely must do experience when you're on magnetic island! I did this as a solo backpacker, and it turned out that I was the only one for that day that booked in for the tour. Tim made the experience a buck list experience for me; a very genuine and nice guy, has lots of knowledge of wild life and nature, knowing where all the best spots are for that time of year. I sore a koala bears and more, and it was all perfectly tied together at the end with a very nice bistro of snacks and beverages, on a comfy chair and table watching the sun set on a beach with very little people on it. I would highly recommend doing this, not just because it's a fantastic experience but also a very good way to see the West Coast which can be difficult without a proper vehicle and know how. Definitely worth the money and time, really good tour guide and a unique experience I well definitely be telling everyone when I get back home! 🌞🤠

WOW! We can’t stop talking about this trip!

If you’re thinking of booking this tour, you’re absolutely not going to regret this one! Tim is a wealth of knowledge and made sure we saw as much as possible, while still feeling very relaxed and without any worry of time. We were able to see and learn about many many plants and wildlife; we even got to borrow some of Tim’s binoculars for an up close experience!! Tim’s passion shines through with every word he speaks. All of this, and you haven’t even seen the grand finale of the night! Tim sets up a lovely charcuterie board while you take a walk along the beach. Then you return to a perfect date night of an incredible sight of the sun setting over the Paluma mountain range. Stay long enough to see the stars start to peak out and remember, if you’re from the northern hemisphere, many of these stars are ones you’ve never seen before!! My husband and I cannot speak highly enough of this simple, yet sophisticated outing.

Highly Recommended Trip

Brilliant tour with very knowledgeable guide. Told us some stories and facts along the way so it wasn't just a drive. Took us to a beautiful spot on the beach with great views of the sunset. There was only me and one other person that night but Tim left us to enjoy the lovely platter he'd prepared along with champagne on ice while we watched the sun go down. Great experience and highly recommended

Amazing tour!

Such an amazing trip and so well guided by Tim! It turned out that there was only myself and another solo traveller booked onto the tour, so Tim called in advance to let us know that we would be picked up in a car rather than the bus, and to check what drink we would prefer for the sunset. On the drive out we had really great conversations filled with local knowledge and we got to see a family of wild koalas on the drive. Once we arrived at west point we were treated with a lovely platter of food and incredible views, we were also lucky enough to see turtles and dugongs swimming around before the sunset! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting because unless you have your own 4x4 it's almost impossible to access this beautiful side of the island.

An absolute must do on Maggie!!!

The West Point 4WD Sunset Tour was an absolutely amazing experience!! We enjoyed a leisurely informative trip to West Point, a magnificent sunset at an awesome location, exploring the beach, devouring a delicious platter and cold beverages whilst being looked after by our amazing host, Tim!! The tour was great, the sunset was amazing, Tim was great! Really nothing to complain about. Tim is so knowledgeble and told us so much about the island (which he will refer to as useless facts, but it was honestly super interesting, haha) He also catered for our dietary requirements and prepared an awesome vegan picnic for us!

West is best on Magnetic Island

What an amazing tour enjoyed with Tim! We saw an advert in the Ultimate Magnetic Island Guide, literally on arriving at the Townsville Ferry Terminal and just knew this wound be a great experience! By the time we docked in MI, we’d secured our booking for later that afternoon, as one of the first things we did on the island. Bang on time, Tim picked us up from the Nelly Bay Ferry terminal with another couple and we embarked on a 3 hour trip to the west coast of the island in Bessie (the converted 4 wheel drive bus). Tim, as a Zoologist, was a wealth of knowledge sharing his insights into the forest, bays and flora and fauna of the route through to the unspoilt end of MI. With no time pressure, we were able to walk the unspoilt beach, enjoy a anti pasta snack of olives, tomatoes, salami, cheese, bread sticks and biscuits suitably washed down with a drink of your choice (Prosecco, beer, wine, soft drinks). To watch the sunset was a sight to behold! Simply stunning and beautiful!! Bessie was a star, Tim was a star, the whole experience was first class! In short, miss this tour at your peril. Throughly recommend it!!

Secret gem among the beautiful backdrop of Maggie!

Incredible experience visiting West Point with Tim! My wife & I had visited Maggie and had seen almost every site to this stage, and so we were pretty sure that we had seen everything there was to offer on the island. Boy, were we wrong! We were lucky enough to book a personal 4WD tour with Tim and he was an incredible host from start to finish! From picking us up and dropping us off where we asked, to acting as an extremely knowledgeable tour guide as we drove through the dirt roads leading to West Point, we cannot have asked for any more from Tim! Once we finally reach West Point Beach, we understood that we hadn't really seen the best part of the island yet. A jaw-dropping view awaited us, along with a beautiful grazing platter + champagne for dinner. Tim set us up with chairs & tables with which to enjoy the view, and allowed us to take in the surrounds while he took a stroll around the beach. We could not recommend Tim and his tours more! A lot of people decide to jump in their own personal 4WD hire care and drive up the mountainside to check out West Point, though the reality is that a guided tour really makes all the difference in being able to take in all of the surrounds!

Lovely experience

Magical experience. Tim was an excellent driver and so knowledgable. He prepped snacks and drinks for us and even set up some fairy lights. He provided us with blankets or chairs to sit back and enjoy the sunset

Amazing experience!

The tour is amazing! Tim is a very good person, he was very available and he explained us a lot of things and curiosity about the island and the flora and fauna. West Point is an amazing place, and when we arrived there, Tim prepared us a table on the beach with a lot of foods to eating during the sunset and a champagne, and all was so delicious and romantic. Tim took care for each details for us. Very recommend it!
