Fantastic insight into bullfighting traditions

Esteban was a fantastic guide. He clearly explained the history and traditions of bullfighting and gave us a useful insight into the art of bullfighting prior to us seeing a bullfight that night.

Great way to learn about this tradition

We had an absolute blast on this tour! So much better than we anticipated . We felt this tour educated us regarding this tradition. We felt that this tour enabled us to respect this bullfighting custom while also respecting ours and not seeing animal cruelty Our guide Guillermo was extremely passionate about educating us about the art of bullfighting. Not only was he passionate but he was extremely knowledgeable, respectful and funny. We were so blessed to have him as our guide . We had pretty much full access to the arena including the stadium from different levels, gates where matadors/ bulls enter and leave , including injured matadors. We saw where the bulls and horses are kept and where VIP’s sit and are interviewed by the media. We learned about customs and superstitions We got to be matadors on the VR and hold a real capes and sword We learned about all different levels of involvement in this art we highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Madrid to get an understanding of this fascinating tradition. Don’t bother with an audio tour this is 1000 times better

The best tour!

Carlos was amazing! He taught us the history, the beauty, and the dance of bullfighting. One of the highlights of our trip to Madrid!

A must-see

I took a group of 18 teenagers to Las Ventas as part of a school trip. The tour is so worthwhile and makes such a difference having an in person tour guide than audio. Carlos was great with the pupils, super informative and took his time to really ensure all questions were answered and we left feeling we had learned something. His English is excellent. Great tour, we will definitely return!

Las Ventas Bullring experience

Our guide Eva was fabulous, she provided so much information on the day, gave us a real insight into the lives of the Matadors and the bulls. The whole thing is so much more than we had believed beforehand. Although we never experienced a bull spectacular we feel we are more educated in the process. We highly recommend Eva as a guide and also the whole Las Ventas experience. Value for money an and an hour well spent!

A different view of bullfighting

We went on this tour to understand the culture of bullfighting without actually going to a bullfight. We felt as though our guide was very good in representing a different aspect of the art of bullfighting and how it fit into the history of Spain.

Outstanding Tour, Excellent Guide

I am so glad we did this private tour of the Las Ventas bullring. Guillermo’s English was excellent and he was knowledgeable and passionate about his subject yet respectful of the wide ranges of views he must encounter in his job. We learned a ton. I had been reading what I could from English publications and through Google translate of Spanish sources to try to understand this unfamiliar and controversial spectacle, yet always came away confused. Guillermo’s tour and explanation was invaluable in furthering my understanding. And his patience for our many questions was admirable. The building is beautiful. Only disappointment was that the Bullfighting Museum was temporarily closed for about three weeks so we didn’t get to see that. The virtual reality bullfighting experience was a kick! And later getting to hold and move actual capes was a surprise: they are much heavier and more cumbersome than I imagined. I HIGHLY recommend this VIP tour.

Very worthwhile tour.

This tour was amazing, we learned so much about the history of the building and the history of bullfighting. Our guide, James, was fantastic, knowledgeable, professional and very personable.

Finding the meeting point wasn’t straightforward bc of the large area, so look for a person holding a roundish trip advisor sign. Not too far off from entrance…

A must do when in Madrid

If you want to learn the culture and history of bullfighting you must do this tour! There is so much thought, planning and pride that goes into the sport. You will have a different perspective at the end!

Las Ventas Bull Ring tour is Awesome

The perfect experience. Tour guide was outstanding. We entered knowing nothing really about the bull ring, bulls and matadors and left with a wonderful appreciation of this art form that very much a part of the Spanish culture and community. The bull ring offers a self guided tour but I would highly recommend the guided tour. We enjoyed the experience immensely and are just sorry we won’t be here on Sunday to see an actual event. Avoided saying Bull Fight as we learned this gives a less tan accurate depiction of this very special art form.

Bullring Tour

My husband and I were the only ones on the tour, so we got a lot of attention and had a chance to ask questions. The tour guide was very friendly and explained things very clearly.

A must VIP visit of the Las Ventas Bullring and that too with Jaime

It was an amazing trip to the bullring where we got an inside view of the culture and tradition of the bull fight. "Jaime" the tour guide was excellent, very passionate about the subject and the Spanish culture. He made our visit very enjoyable and even went longer than expected as he patiently answered a number of our questions.

Carlos was the best!

We had Carlos as a guide yesterday and he was fantastic! I cannot recommend this tour highly enough! We knew nothing of bullfighting prior to this and left as big fans. If you are in Madrid, this was a must see and make sure to ask for Carlos!!

Well informed and nice way to learn about bullfighting

Pablo my tour guide was very well informed and passionate about explaining the history of bullfighting and the inner workings of how it is performed and the preparation involved. He was very friendly and courteous and I would highly recommend him.

One of the best tours in Madrid!

My husband booked this private tour of the bullring, and it was one of the highlights of our trip! Our tour guide, Carlos, was awesome, and we learned so much about bullfighting. We even got to go to the center of the ring and learn how to use the capes! We enjoyed the tour so much that we wanted to see a show before we left Madrid. Carlos was able to help us get tickets for the show the next evening, and without the amazing tour we would not have enjoyed it nearly as much. Highly recommend this experience and recommend Carlos as the tour guide because he will give you fun information and show you a great time around the bullring!

Guillermo was our tour guide and he was amazing, … funny and engaging. Very knowledgeable about the history of Corridas de Toros. One of the best experiences in our trip to Madrid.

Wonderful History Lesson of Bullfighting

If you have the chance to take this tour before seeing an actual bullfight, I would highly recommend. Our guide gave us the history of the tradition and how it has progressed. We learned about individual fighters and was given an opportunity to hold the pink and yellow cape (it's much heavier than it looks!) and red cape to get a better perspective on what the fighters have in the ring.

Spectacular arena tour - 5 ***** rating for our guide Pablo

Las Ventas is definitely worth a visit and a must if you are planning a trip to Madrid. The arena is spectacular and very impulsive when you see it. We were able to enjoy a guided tour with our excellent guide Pablo. He speaks excellent English, so there was a lot to take away and learn. Definitely a 5 star rating and 100% recommended! :)

A wunderful and interesting time

It was realy amazing. Pablo our guid was great. We were a group of more than 50 people. Everyone understand him good. And it was realy interesting what he told us about the bullfights.

We did a tour with Guillermo it’s not that the tour was great it was exceptional. It’s true that we had previously read a lot about bullfights but Guillermo was extremely knowledgeable beyond mere bullfights. He was able to present la corrida thru a perspective of art, culture and history. Not to mention his knowledge of my all time favorite Hemingway and his accounts of bullfights. Highly recommendable !

Interesting and wonderful tour!

We loved this tour! There was so much about bullfighting that we knew nothing about. Our guide, Carlos, was great. He was engaging, informative, and a fantastic tour guide over all. Now… we happened to be there on the day there was going to be a fight. After the tour we were more intrigued and got tickets. I just want to warn people - it was rough. Even after knowing what was happening and that it was GOING to happen, it was a tough thing to watch. I come from a family of hunters so seeing a dead animal isn’t new to me, but the process was tough. Just want to warn those who are wondering. Again, the tour itself was fabulous - the fight was tough.

We had a wonderful tour of Las Ventas with Pablo as our guide who was excellent in his demeanor and presentation!!! The bullring and the attached museum was an amazing representation of this culture in the most important bullfighting ring in the world!! Thanks Pablo for a really fun and informative tour!!

Highlight of a two-week trip with college students!

We were a group of 12 (11 college students and 1 professor) that took the tour with Carlos. This was such a high light of our two-week trip. Carlos spent two hours walking us through the bull ring from top to bottom. He brought the bull ring and the culture behind bull fighting to life for us! I have been to Madrid many, many times and this was one of my most favorite things I have ever done. Book the guided tour and request Carlos! You will not regret it!

Worth it!

Our private guide was Pablo and he did a fantastic job! Passionate and knowledgeable about the history, matadors, bulls, costumes, etc. We learned so much about the cultural importance of the sport!

Amazing private tour for a group!

We booked a private tour with a group for an English tour of the Arena. We were not sure if everybody would like the visit, but the tour ended up being one of the favourites in Madrid! The tour guide explained all the interesting facts and kept everybody interested. We would definitely recommend adding this stop to your itinerary!

Must do tour!! Loved every minute

Our tour guide Guillermo was absolutely amazing. His knowledge and passion came shining through from beginning to end. We took a total of 5 different tours between Barcelona and Madrid and Guillermo made this tour our favorite.

Wonderful tour with our private French guide Yoann

We didn’t know much about corrida which is why we took a tour with a private guide. A first we were not big fans, but the way Yoann, our private guide, provided the rational behind it and all the details about this traditional Spanish show made it extremely interesting. Yoann is very knowledgable and very nice. He made it a wonderful experience.

Fantastic place and guide!

Thanks to Eva, our guide, who managed to capture the attention of our students (French speakers - level A2-B1) and open them to another aspect of Spanish culture. Eva transmitted very interesting information in a very clear way. The explanatory videos are effective and the "virtual" bullfighting activity is very fun. The place is spectacular. If I return to Madrid with students, I will schedule the visit to Las Ventas again.

Visit to las ventas in French

A magnificent place: architecture between Spain and the Arab world and very well maintained arenas. A perfect visit done in French by Eva which mixes history, tradition and anecdotes: it was great. We loved trying on the bullfighter cape and using virtual reality. A great moment to share with family or friends despite the price being a little high for adults! Thanks Eva!

Guided tour with tour guide Palomo

During our student exchange, Palomo took us through the bullring. With little anecdotes and jokes he was able to give us the most important information about the arena very clearly. He showed us details of the bullfight by demonstrating various movements of the matadors. We were thrilled with his tour and his very good knowledge of English.
