Brilliant Food Tour

Fantastic food tour. Daniel, our guide, was really knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I really liked the tour only visited places that are family businesses and have been established over 100 years. The food was excellent quality and so tasty.

I highly recommend this tour - it totally exceeded my expectations! We explored two beautiful neighbourhoods and tried so many delicious local foods and drinks. Our tour guide, Daniel, was so knowledgeable and passionate about his city, the food, and the area. He was really warm and friendly and brought our group together like we’d always been friends. If you’re coming to Madrid and you like food, you must book this trip!

Excellent food tour. Come hungry!

This is was a first class food tour with David our outstanding guide. All the locations we visited were close to each other in a couple of nearby neighbourhoods. The places visited were all authentic and outstanding. Although the samples at each place are relatively small, there is so much that by the end you will feel full. You also get 2 glasses of wine and a beer. This was an excellent introduction to Madrid culture and food.

Unique flavours of Madrid

This tour was on our first day in Madrid and was able to give us an introduction to the city as well as its food. We liked the option of a daytime tour. Our tour leader was David who was full of enthusiasm and clearly loves the food. It was great to have his guidance in the markets and we visited places we would not have visited on our own. We tried the vermouth which was a new taste for us along with a huge range of olives. The experience of the calamari sandwich was unique! We had previously enjoyed a Devour food tour in San Sebastian, and although not cheap for our Australian dollar, we decided it was well worth it, and later booked a Devour tour in Seville.

Great morning tour!

Daniel was a fantastic guide! He was knowledgeable, funny and took time to chat a little with everyone. We loved all of his choices and would highly recommend the tour!

Informative and tasty experience

Very informational guide. There was a lot of variety in locally owned restaurants and food. Definitely worth giving the tour and each dish a try.

Brilliant morning with David who was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed all the tastings and the drinks. During summer I would recommend morning tour before the weather is too hot for walking around.

Local Madrid food tour of family run establishments

Great walking tour of local family run establishments each more than 3 generations old. Daniel was a great guide very engaging. He even helped guide a couple of us to try things we’ve not liked in the past. Huge amount of food totally stuffed afterwards. We did the tour on our first day in Madrid. Great way to get introduced to the local food and Madrid. Tour does involve 2.5 miles and a lot of standing.

Fun tour for our family

Mitzi was fantastic. She was great with our kids and was able to answer any question. We had a great time on her tour and would definitely recommend her.

Our tour guide was terrific. She made sure that we had a great sampling of the foods of Madrid all while entertaining us with stories of neighborhoods and history. She made kind accommodations to my and my husband’s food restrictions. Highly recommend

Stances was our amazing guide. She took us to several places, a churro chocolate place, a bakery, a market, a tapas bar, a sandwich stall, a wine and cheese place. Each spot had a story. It was a great experience! Highly recommend

Great food tour in Madrid

Flo was an exceptional guide, funny, informative and great with people. The right mix of history/info and tasting, and great family food businesses. From hot chocolate for breakfast through olives, bread, cheese, hams, wine, cake and coffee, it was delicious. Highly recommended.

Wonderful tapas tour!

We had a wonderful time on our tour! We booked on our first day in Madrid and so glad we did. Very good value for money. We left very full! We had Andrea as our guide and can't recommend her enough. She was very knowledgable about food and the history of Madrid. Our small group of 7 had a variety of ages however, Andrea made sure conversation flowed and we all got along. She also gave us some more tips on where to go to find the best food and places to avoid. Would 100% go on another tour again!

Our tour guide was very relatable and fun. He also made a great impression with his company and I would love to book again. I do however think that due to the small restaurants and shops, the tours should be offered to small groups of 3-4 people. Otherwise, this was a great experience!

Great and interesting food. Isabella was a great guide, everyone in our 12 person group had a good time. The Flamenco show was outstanding. I would put thin tour high on your list.

Can’t be missed if you’re in Madrid

David was excellent! Gave us a memorable foodie and historical tour of Madrid. The four hours flew by and the selection of food covered everything from tapas, chocolate, cheeses, wine, beer, and churros among others. Highly recommended. If you have mobility issues I don’t recommend this tour, however.

Really great food tour today!

Mitzi was a superb tour guide: the hot chocolate at the first stop was delicious and we really enjoyed the whole tour right from the start. Mitzi explained all the stops very well and interestingly along with the history of the locations. The empanada, the market, Casa González, Casa Revuelta, Bar La Campana & El Riojano were all highly enjoyable.

Well organized and executed tour, but too much crammed into 4 hours

Well organized tour. Good mix of food, food history and local history. Downside is too much is crammed into the 4 hours. At one point the guide sat us down to a plate of food and basically said (paraphrasing), "OK, you have 7 minutes to eat your food and then we have to move on to the next stop." I would rather have had one or two less stops, and more time to enjoy the food and walk between stops. We were "briskly walking" between stops. There were a few times we thought we were going to lose the group, but we never did. This tour is not recommended for elderly or mobility impaired folks. It won't be enjoyable given the (literal) fast pace. That issue aside, it is a very well organized and executed tour. Our tour guide, Mitzi, did a good job.

A fabulous food tour. Daniel was amazing and not only did we enjoy some amazing local food we learnt about the culture and history. Definitely worth doing this food tour to set a benchmark for what to expect

Gastronomical Tour!

The food was an authentic sampling of local delicacies and traditions. Everything from cheese to desserts. It was great to sample from merchants that we would not have gone to if it weren’t for our guide Daniel who was born and raised in Madrid and who is also a chef.

Great guide, delicious food and cultural experience!

Our guide David was the best!! He was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He seemed to have a great relationship with the vendors. Not only did we get to taste our way through areas of Madrid, but David enlightened us on the history of the cuisine and culture. He shared some great recommendations and advise. Take the tour; you will not leave hungry!!

A must do if you’re into food

Daniel was an amazing guide, so knowledgeable and passionate about food in general and particularly local food. Would really recommend doing this tour early in your stay in Madrid as you will get lots of recommendations, dos and dont’s, top tips etc.

Amazing experience and opportunity to try foods we would never have known to try just traveling on our own as tourists. Absolutely loved learning about the stories behind each space and each dish, and we’ve gained such a new appreciation for Spain, its food, and its people.

Fun Walking Food Tour

A group of about 8 people joined Isaac for a fun walking tour of Madrid. We started with scrumptious chocolate churros in a small cafe that specializing in them. We then went to a bread shop that made delicious sour dough bread and were given one filled with sausage. We went on to an extensive market where we tasted Iberico ham, olive oil, anchovies on potato chips, and ended with fresh strawberries. From there we went to taste 4 cheeses with red or white wine, then a fried calamari sandwich, and finally to a shop selling cakes and coffee. Along with the wonderful food experience the guide provided insightful comments about the Spanish culture. We came away learning a lot and had fun along the way.

Wonderful food tour in Madrid

We had the most wonderful food tour with Flo yesterday! She chose a wide variety of places for us to really get a taste of Madrid. I tried foods I normally would not have chosen. Thank you so much!

For an American in Madrid - our guide was very knowledgeable and knew what would spark interest in the group. Sounds like there is a 'tour' to suit all needs and the one I went on was a good general overview without too much alcohol!

Fantastic foodie tour

Our guide, Flo, was fabulous - friendly and knowledgeable. She told us about the history of some of the foods that we ate and about the places we ate at as well as about the passion of the people who prepared the food. We tried so many different local foods including hot chocolate and porras, bread, croquettes, hams, cheeses, olives, calamari sandwich, wine, beer and cake. Good thing it was a walking tour!

Absolute must do

Absolute must do if you only have a few days, I'd recommend to do this tour early on to pick up some great tips for your stay. As well as being able to sample local cuisine we learned lots about Madrid's history, culture and traditions. Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and a lot of fun 😄

Deliciousness in Madrid

Flo was an excellent guide! Our group enjoyed many different types of food from different regions in Spain and learned about each. The olive tasting was my favorite but hard to choose with so many delights. I think the price was definitely reasonable and highly recommend this tour.

Come hungry for an in-depth food experience

Such an incredible amount of food! The guide for this tour was Isaac, who was knowledgeable, warm and very funny. The tour rambles all over the Literary Quarter and Central Madrid and gives you a full selection of foods on offer - you will be stuffed to the gills by the end! Communications from the tour company were clear and efficient.

Fantastic food tour!

David B. was an amazing guide. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, kind and helpful. A young girl on our tour had an ear infection and he helped her Dad navigate getting help at a farmacia. All of the food was amazing, he definitely knows the good spots and also provided additional recommendations to make sure we all continued to fine the most delicious food in Madrid for the rest of our stay.

Lots of fab food!

My husband and I had and excellent tour with Devour and our guide Arantxa. Arantxa was very knowledgeable and took great care of us for the whole tour. We got to sample lots of local foods and at the end of the experience we were very full up and in need of a siesta!

Was a wonderful way to try the food of Madrid. We started with breakfast and ended with coffee and pastries.
