Toledo Tour with Tapas, Wine Tasting and Optional 7 Monuments Access

We were unable to go on this trip that we were so looking forward to. Our cab was stuck in heavy traffic, we were 10 minutes late. The bus pulled out in front of us, we couldn't get it to stop for us. I was communicating with the travel company, they said make our own way to Toledo (from Madrid) and catch up to the tour!!! I reached out to Visitor to be rebooked for another day and was told no, it would be at our expense. I felt abandoned, and literally was avant by Viator. I tried to find a way to speak to Tripadvisor, their parents company, to no avail. T We gave spent thousands with Viator over the years, I guess can customer satisfaction is not their concern

This was a very nice trip and the wine tasting was excellent. I would have preferred time built in for lunch. I think there was too much packed into one trip.

Great day with Andrea in Toledo, but wine tasting was forgettable

Our primary guide was Andrea and she was really, really good. Her English was excellent and we enjoyed her history lessons. In Toledo she took us to 3 of the 7 monuments included with our bracelets. However, cathedral visit was not included, so we went on our own. Would suggest that day be changed to include cathedral tour. At the wine tasting we got to sample some nice wines with a snack provided. However, our experience was diminished by host's poor English skills. Most of the group was Spanish speaking and she spoke Spanish 90% of the time. She sometimes had difficulty finding the right words in English. If you are going to advertise this as an English tour, make sure your people have good English skills. But overall good day in Toledo.

A great day in Toledo!

We really enjoyed our day. Toledo is a beautiful city that shouldn’t be missed. Our tour guide Benito was outstanding. He was interesting, informative and very patient. We had a mix of English speaking and Spanish speaking guests. He explained everything clearly in both languages. He gave us so much information. That’s a lot of talking throughout the day! Thanks for a memorable day.

The guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant and spoke English well. The bus was comfortable and had good A/C. Toledo is beautiful and has good shops and restaurants. The wine tour is a must make sure to book it.

Nice trip to Toledo

Nice and comfortable trip out of Madrid in the bus. Friendly guide, who spoke just enough. I liked the stop we took befare we entered Toledo, so we could admire the view and take pictures. The winetasting and tapas was good. Me and my friend skipped the guiding, so I cant say what the guiding in Toledo town was.

Great experience!

This was probably our favorite tour of our trip! Toledo was gorgeous and the cathedral was the most beautiful we have ever seen. The wine tasting was really fun too! Started out a little late because of the amount of people who booked and the available seats on the bus, but they sorted it all out.

So Worth It

Loved our amazing guide, (Andrea I believe), loved Toledo, the walking tour, time on our own, the bus ride was really comfortable and we thought this was a great price for all that was included. What could be a bit better: there was no IBE Tours sign to look for when finding the bus at the meeting place in the AM. There was another tour bus leaving at the same time so there was some confusion. We also did the wine tasting which was nice with good tapas too, but I'd probably recommend to opt for the cathedral instead and get wine on your own.

Double it and give it to the next person

The title is misleading. Know you’re signing up for a city tour! Without the admission to the monuments you’ll get a short tour and then lots of free time to roam. We went on a Sunday and a lot of the attractions were closed. So the only thing to look forward to was the wine which was an ok experience. Not worth the money

Great town, good ride, need audio sets

Toledo is a great day trip. We loved the town. The tour was a bit unorganized starting at check in. It took a while to get everyone checked in. The guides were using their small phones to find names. The bus ride was smooth. We payed for the 7 monument option and wine tasting. This does not include admission to the cathedral, which we enjoyed. Cathedral admission was about another 10-15 euros pp. The wine tasting was great but not a full tasting experience due to language barrier. It was nice to take a break from all the walking (bathroom was available too!). The two things I would change: better organization at check in and provide audio sets. It was very difficult to hear our guide, Ismael. He was professional, energetic, and knowledgeable. It was just difficult to hear him.

Great day in Toldeo

Great trip, highly recommend. Lydia our tour guide was excellent (especially the tip that the 150 steps up the tower was worth the view) and the wine tasting was great--small shop off the beaten path, all local wine, great tapas included. Just do it!

A Beautiful Tour Though History

This tour and wine tasting was amazing! Our tour guide Lydia was so informative and kind and she even offered extra tips on things to see during our free time after the tour. We opted for the full 7 monument access and I'm glad we did as she guided us through 4 of the 7 and taught us so much that we would have otherwise missed. The wine tasting had amazing wines, but our guide admittedly didn't speak English very well. For me that was fine as I understand a decent amount of Spanish, but for someone who doesn't, that might be a barrier. The tapas consisted of VERY crunchy bread sticks, deer sausage, cheese, and olive oil. The olive oil was fantastic and we bought a bottle. After that, we followed Lydia's advice and visited the mosque AMAZING VIEWS! Then walked around the outside walls of the main city area where we found a great restaurant called El Peñón to get tapas and glass of wine before hopping back on the bus. Great day! Learned so much and can't thank her enough!

Beautiful Toledo

Since we didn't fully research this tour, I concluded that there is hardly anything negative to say. It was a full day, lots and LOTS of walking (which is par for the course), and the bus ride was very comfortable. We had the wine-tasting add-on, which I thoroughly enjoyed. My only beef was with the city of Toledo itself for the marked absence of public toilets! We had to duck into a cafe and buy a drink in order to assure ourselves of access to los aseos! Our guide Rosia did a good job.

Lidia was a great guide. The city of Toledo was beautiful! My brother and I really enjoyed our trip, it was well organized and bilingual.

Woohoo Wine!

The tour was great! It was a good mix of walking tour, visiting monuments, wine tasting, and free time. There are several options you can choose and be on the same bus - express to Toledo, with walking tour, with monument visits, and with wine tasting. Our tour guide, Benny, was phenomenal. He certainly gave more information than I would have garnered on my own. He also spoke in both english and spanish. The wine tasting was great, focused on Toledo region wines, came with tapas, and included an olive oil tasting. If you think you might buy wines, I would recommend bringing a backpack. Toledo is hilly and carrying wine bottles in bags or box is a little difficult.

The wine & tapa experience was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and fun. Our tour was very disorganized and our wine tasting was during the tour not a separate timeframe therefore we did not get the guide”s input on the monuments. We had to do them on our own.

Lifetime experiance in toledo

Tour guide was amazing! The town was priceless and the experiance was to remember. This town is so cozy and perfect for authentic spain experiance. Wear comfortable shoes and cloths!!! Lots of walking!!

Toledo is an amazing city! The tour was great! Our guide was very kind and with great attitude of service. The bus service was very good! The only thing that was much below my expectations is the wine tasting (cata). It was the worst wine tasting I’ve ever had! It was given with very limited wine knowledge. The re fill for a wine tasting had a charge of €3. And the English language of the lady that gave the cata was very Poot and hard to understand. I would never recommend this wine tasting!

Lovely Toledo

My friends and I had a lovely time in the beautiful city of Toledo. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and eager to accommodate the needs of the group. We enjoyed the tapas and wine tasting. It was a nice addition to the tour. In this case, the tapas were more like a snack plate including samples of crackers, goat and sheep milk cheese, venison chorizo (which was amazing) and ham pates. Overall, Toledo was my favorite place to see due to its history and charming winding streets and beautiful architecture.

A great way to experience Toledo

Our guide was awesome and whole experience was exceptional! Our guide was able to being Toledo to life! The wine tasting in between was great as well, and also included a small snack plate.

Beautiful historical town

It was a large group travel, but the tour was well organised and there was free time to experience the town. The town itself is beautiful, overall I would recommend the tour.

Toledo is Wonderful

We genuinely enjoyed our day trip to Toledo. The ride was comfortable and the walking tour and monuments tour were wonderfully interesting and informative. Not sure I would choose the wine tasting again over the cathedral, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. We can't wait to go back and spend more time in Toledo.

Wine

It was a fun experience with a lot of history. My advice due to a lot of walking wear comfortable shoe do not wear heels, eat something before drinking wine, come with open mind.

King David of Toledo!

Our tour guide, David - like the king, was fun, knowledgeable, and approachable. He alone made the tour worth it. But everything else about the tour was also done well. The other guides were also nice and helpful, the monuments are nice to see and the information shared was good. The tour has a good balance between scenery, history, walking, and viewing. Also a good balance between guided tour and free time. We did the optional wine tasting, spent 45 minutes with some local tapas, 3 wines, and a nice small business guide explaining the wines.

Me and my wife loved taking the time out from all the sites to wind down and meet some new friends the host was very nice and helpful ended up getting some great wines. do it you wont regret.

Amazing

My solo trip to Toledo with Beni as my guide was fantastic. Beni was super kind, knowledgeable, excited. Beni speaks perfect English and Spanish, and he gives the entire tour in both languages! Wine tasting was wonderful atmosphere and with a knowledgable woman. Would definitely book again with this company and especially with Beni.

Toledo & wine

Overall wonderful trip. Forgot the name of our guide, but she was a young lady, incredibly knowledgeable and very nice. Toledo was beautiful, and panoramic view I don’t think would be possible if you took a train day trip on your own. So the tour was well worth it! The wine part of the trip was in a small shop, and was so much fun! The main table was not large enough for the entire group, so we were broken up into two table. Ideally one large table... but didn’t change my opinion on the overall experience at all. The lady at the wine tasting we very nice and accommodating to allergies. Overall, so much fun and a definite to do!

Great for everyone

We met promptly at 9:30am. Got on the bus with our guide, Bennie. He speaks in two languages the entire time. Took a bus an hour to get to Toledo. Then a 30 minute break. Bennie did a great walking tour and to three of the seven monuments. Bennie then dropped me off at the wine tasting location with Ana. It was a great experience, but would not do it again. She spoke little English and I was doing it alone. The white wine came from France and two reds from Spain. The tapas were 3 pieces of cheese, deer, crackers and pate. My biggest positive was eating pate for the first time and I’m liking it! Then I went to lunch at a restaurant that offers salad or soup, pasta or pizza, and a beer or wine for 12,40 euros! It was crowded but pretty good. At 5:30 we were back on the bus and headed to Madrid.

A great day in Toledo!

We had a fantastic trip! We learned a lot about the area of Toledo. We opted for the Wine Tasting, which was the best experience. We were the only ones, so we had our group of four that got a personalized wine tasting in a local winery. It was a highlight for sure. It was a lot of time to spend there (especially having drank a bunch of wine!), we could have done with maybe an hour less but we literally just wandered around all the streets and stopped for tapas and sangria, did some shopping, and checked out a few of the monuments. Would definitely recommend it as a nice day trip!

Rich experience for reasonable price

This is a full-day trip from Madrid to Toledo which included an introduction to the history of the town, visits to the monuments with an explanation by the guide, also wine tasting with a specialist and of course tapas. We were surprised to have such a well-organized tour for this reasonable price. One tip for those who take the tour in English is to take the seats closer to the guide because of the noise in the bus which sometimes didn`t allow us to hear well enough. Our guide spoke very good English by the way and gave some tips to get the best of our trip. Thank you!

Beautiful Toledo Excellent wine tasting

Short bus ride of 50 minutes to Toledo. Our tour guide offered some interesting facts during the beginning of the bus ride with some quiet time on the ride for those who like to sleep. Bus was clean and comfortable. We did the monument and wine tasting tour and tour guide Barbara offered some fun facts and information and did a great job translating both Spanish and English with her group of 30. There were only 3 of us who did the wine tasting which was fabulous! The host of the wine tasting did an excellent job of introducing the wines and pairing with cheeses and other flavors. It was a full day filled with morning tours and the afternoon free with plenty of time to explore. Very HOT in August. Make sure you take sun screen, wear a hat or umbrella. A great price for all that was included!

<p>Our tour guide as Rocio, she was polite, knowledgeable, spoke very good English. We took the winery tour and Ana was our Wine tasting expert. We had several different wines with tapas. She gave us an introduction to wine tasting and then let me and my partner enjoy the wine and tapas, which was great. We bought some wine and cheese and pate, all was really inexpensive. Lastly the large van we took was very comfortable.</p>

Toledo is beautiful! Wish we had time to see more. The local winery was ok, not what I expected since we thought we would go to a vineyard but it was still a great experience. I would definitely recommend this tour without the winery visit.

Wonderful!

Bus was nice and comfortable and cool and featured wifi. The views were amazing and your guide would stop bus for an aerial view photo. Tour around Toledo was very informative and buildings stunning. The winery is not a winery it is a wine tasting, I was upset at first but then getting off my feet and relaxing in some AC with healthy pours of wine and some good cheese ham and biscuits I wasn't so upset lol. DEFINITELY wear running shoes even though it's not a lot of walking the hills and stones are challenging.

Misleading

Let me start with saying Toledo is a beautiful city and I highly suggest a visit. The reason for 3 stars is Bc the information on sites and history could have been better and the “winery” part of the trip was a simple visit to a wine shop on the street. The tour calls for a winery visit but that is not what you get once there. I have been on a number of tours like this and although the ride was very comfortable and tour guide was very nice, the overall experience was underwhelming.

Excellant Tour Guide

We were a small group of about 15, from various countries with both English Speakers and Spanish speakers. Our guide, Sara, had the amazing ability to speak both languages simultaneously! Sara was great! Knowledgeable, funny and witty. This was a great trip! Also, I had somehow made 2 duplicate bookings, and Sara swiftly helped me arrange a refund.

FANTASTIC TOUR

I have never enjoyed a city tour as much as this one lead by Rocio. An fantastic and knowledgeable guide. We visited Toledo for a number of hours with no loss of time . An excelent and complete explanation of the Greco work of art. I have to also coment on the fabulous end of our tour in the wine tasting store. Ann knows her job very well and gave us a great explanation of the best Spanish wines from the region with small appetizers.

<p>I really enjoyed this day trip to Toledo - it is a beautiful place. The tour was minimal but the guide did a decent job. I'm not giving five stars because I felt misled about details. I selected the tour with winery visit option. It was my impression that the tour would include all major monuments. On the bus I found out that the most important monument - the Cathedral - is not included on the tour if you select the winery option. I feel this was not made clear in the tour details upon purchase. I was looking for an all-inclusive experience, which is why I paid more. Instead I had to pay 10 euro for the cathedral separately. It would help if these details were made crystal clear in the various tour purchase options.</p>

Fantastic Day Trip!!

We enjoyed visiting the city of Toledo where our daughter spent her junior year of college studying abroad. The tour guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. The visit to La Finca Loranque winery was a highlight. Great scenery and delicious wine served with a platter of sausage and cheese. We were very pleased with the day trip and highly recommend it!!

Excellent tour guide

Perfect for a first-time visitor to Toledo. You can see the major sights in a day, and the small bus was comfortable going to and from Madrid. BUT it's advertised as a winery tour; it's NOT a winery, just a tasting room in the city of Toledo. We were initially unhappy about that, but our experience in the tasting room was enjoyable with a knowledgeable and friendly host, so we ended up being fine with the experience. I just think they need to reword it so that it's more accurate. (We are from the SF Bay Area, and "local winery visit" means actually going to a winery and touring the facility.) Our guide was also knowledgeable, helpful, and did a great job in giving the tour in both English and Spanish.

I didn't leave there thinking that there was ground to be covered. I was a bit tired at the end of the day but that speaks for the wonderful walk I had earlier in the day. Recommend!</p>
