Toledo Tour with Cathedral, St Tome Church & Synagoge from Madrid

Excellent Day

The Church was really amazing. as well as the overall feel of being in such a historic area. The town and streets were beautiful. I cannot say enough about our guide, her level of knowledge was extraordinary and her ability to convey the importance of certain aspects.

Pls don’t be fooled by this tour in English

We booked English tour as we don’t speak Spanish. We were sent to be with Spanish tour group. The tour guide spoke mostly in Spanish as most tourists were Spanish. The tour guide translated in English but with heavy Spanish accent and didn’t speak much English for this tour. We were forced to listen to Speak entire trip. Very very disappointing. Pls don’t book this tour as they fool you.

Right from the start, she provided a clear overview of the day's itinerary, allowing us to prepare and fully enjoy the experience. We even had time for a leisurely shopping break. The comfortable bus ride added to the overall enjoyment of the tour. Great tour of Toledo

Great tour. Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, Rafael. Driving was smooth. Comfortable ride but not handicapped friendly. Lots to see. Fascinating history.

The tour was OK

The tour was OK! Our guide took us to the most relevant views and gave us lots of information about the history of Toledo! However, it was a bit unclear when booking, because there was no information about half-day vs full-day tour… so we were a bit disapointed about that because we thoght that we have booked the full-day tour.. Half-day was not enough time to experience Toledo.

Great tour, great guide

Oscar our tour guide had a great way of giving us just the right information about each place we went. It was an excellent tour.

Highly recommend

Tour guide was excellent. Just enough information and at a good pace. Guide went above and beyond in arranging transport back to Madrid as I had booked 1/2 day. For me tour which hit the important sites.

Just plain wonderful to see the beauty the buildingshere in allth in the building s etc.

The church alter. It was Moors not the Arabs as our guide said not the Arabs should have been Moors who settled in Spain Should have explained where the came from and their role in Spanish History.

Not what I expected

Sorry to say it was very difficult to understand the tour guide speak English. I would’ve preferred it and we suggest you make sure your guide speaks your language

Overall a good trip to Toledo.

The sights were good. We only had one guild and she had to switch back and forth between languages so it made for a stressful listening day but very knowledgeable. Backrest on the bus seat was broken and not very comfortable.

Toledo tour

A nice day of walking around Toledo. The weather was lovely. The church was really nice. The PA system on the bus is distorted and difficult to understand.

Good way to see Toledo

Good not great- I think it’s partially because your guide is doing tour in English and Spanish. . However gets you to Toledo and back efficiently, and covers the entire town.

Fine tour, but we would have liked to have learned more.

Glad we took this tour. It included entrance to all the important sites. The but was clean and the time of the tour was appropriate. The tour guide, Christina, was knowledgeable but not truly engaging or passionate about her subject. It felt more like a Cliff Notes” version of Toledo’s long exciting history. There is so much more I would have liked to learn.

It was supposed to be a half day tour but it was much longer. However the experience was positive

Lovely trip to Toledo but would have preferred to spend more time at the second synagogue and the Museo sefardi. Our guide Arancha could not be livelier and lovelier.

More art history than history

Our tour guide, Arantxa, was lovely. The tour left and arrived exactly on time. The tour itself was good, however the tour was much more heavily focused on art history and detailed discussion on the meaning behind several pieces. I had signed up for the tour to learn more about the history of Toledo itself - the people, the evolution of the city, etc. and there was much less of that.

Very beautiful

Was interesting, and beautiful. However just a little slow. 20 minutes break for no real reason to stay for coffee, twice.

OK Tour

Amazing city - highly recommend going to Toledo. The tour was in both Spanish and English so it felt like she was rushing to fill in information, recommend they split the groups into English only and Spanish only. Tour guide was very high energy and incredibly nice, she didn't have extra information to share like I've seen with other tour guides. No information on the 1 hour bus ride to the city either. Not worth the money in my opinion.

Got to see the best of...

Got to see the best of Toledo. The guide was awesome. Just enough time to wander. Got to pick out what we wanted to go eat and shop at.

Do not buy

The guide was not engaging at all. It was as if she was reading from a textbook. She did not take any questions. Her overview was super high level and did not give any specific insights around the history of the city, the people that lived and ruled there. While she touched on the Christian and Jewish aspects, there was no mention of moorish history, which was supposed to be part of the tour. The pick up/drop off was convenient. The earphones were provided so that we could hear her, as there was probably 50 people on the tour. Also, the tour was in Spanish and English, so she had to repeat the same info twice in different languages. I would not recommend this tour.

Wonderful, informative tour

We had a wonderful, informative tour of Toledo. I didn’t know much about the city, but certainly learned a lot. I enjoyed all the tour offered. The guide, Arancha, was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. I give her 5 stars. The reason I gave the entire tour 4 stars was because I thought there were too many people, over 40, on the tour. Although we had headphones, it would have been better had we a smaller tour.

Wonderful Toledo Trip

We enjoyed the visit to Toledo as the place is beautiful and our guide, Oscar was good. We were divided into two groups, English and Spanish speaking . Oscar was our guide for the English speaking group. He can speak reasonably good English and was our guide throughout the trip- walking tour as well as visit to the Cathedral and two other places. He explained the history , recommended food to eat, where to find free toilets and what to see in the Cathedral. He got a map of Toledo to help us to move around . Sufficient free time was given for lunch . The Cathedral is one of the most beautiful place of worship that we have ever visited . The visit to Toledo was an unforgettable experience.

Tour of Toledo from Madrid

This was an outstanding tour. The bus ride was comfortable, with some commentary going out. Toledo was beautiful, the history fascinating and our guide was excellent. I’m very glad we took this tour.

Beautiful Toledo!

Arantxa was our tour guide and she was fantastic!!! It was a very hot day in Toledo and she did a great job of providing breaks and finding the shade to keep the group cool as we wound through the beautiful streets of Toledo. She provided lots of great information, was super friendly and energetic! Muchas gracias Arantxa!

Beautiful Toledo!

Had a wonderful day in Toledo, obviously not enough time to see everything but our guide Rafa did a fantastic job showing us the main sites, including a magnificent El Greco painting and the amazing Cathedral of Toledo the largest in the Europe. We booked a half day tour but we didn’t get back to Madrid until 5pm.

Informative visit of beautiful town

Our trip leader was organized, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. She led tour in English and Spanish. Bus was comfortable. Toledo was beautiful and we loved learning about the cathedral there. Free time was nice to have to explore the town. Be warned....it's hot in Toledo!!!

Great Tour of Toledo!

This tour was amazing! The tour guide was very kind and explained everything very thoroughly. I felt that my experience here was worthwhile and I definitely recommend this to others who want a great tour of the beautiful city of Toledo!

Smooth transportation to and from Toledo

Rafael (Rafa) was our bi-lingual tour guide for this half day tour and did a great job of explaining the history of Madrid and Toledo. He paced our tour in Toledo well, allowing us to see all of the sites in Toledo and ensure we did not have to wait in lines for the public. Recommend this experience to anyone interested in exploring Toledo without the hassle of arranging private transportation.

Terrible tour and much too long

This was a terrible tour (Friday June 2). It’s supposed to be 5 hours, but our Guide was awful. She took a full EIGHT HOURS to do this tour, because she’s incompetent. She babbled endlessly about things that weren’t related to the tour. Plus because this company has poor service, they combine the English and Spanish groups into 1 tour bus, so the guide has to repeat everything TWICE. I would never use this company for a tour again.

Tour of Toledo on Spanish and some English

Nice tour. We expected it to be all English and it was in Spanish with some English which was difficult to follow. Tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. It was somewhat disappointing.

Fabulous guide made the day!

Kudos to Arantxa!!! The tour was wonderful except the walking from the main office to the place where all the tours seemed to depart from. A bit of craziness there but in the end everyone probably got on their proper tour. Back to Arantxa our amazing guide. She really does have a handle on leading a group. So organized, so pleasant, professional, really enthusiastic to show the highlights of Toledo. Lots of the history and sights, fairly well paced to get to all the important places I wanted. Would never want to go for the day without a guide! I recommend this tour if you only have a short time to go out to Toledo and are trying to make the best of short holiday time. Heartfelt thanks Arantxa for making my dream come true to visit Toledo.

Great tour but slow start

The actual tour was wonderful. Rafa is a great tour guide who is incredibly knowledgeable of the monuments and how they intertwined with the history of Toledo. The only ding is that they are a very busy company which can make for a “herding cats” scenario. We got to the meeting point on time and signed up for the half day tour. We met at 830am but didn’t actually start the tour until 11am due to organizing everyone, commute to Toledo and giving everyone bathroom breaks. The main city center of Toledo is full of tourist trap type shops. This is not a ding on the tour company but more so on the town of Toledo. Since we signed up for the half day, they did offer to upgrade us to the full day for free but we had other plans so they bought us a taxi to go back to town on our own. Even though it was a half day tour, we didn’t get back to Madrid until 315pm so it almost ended up being a half day, just an fyi for people planning

Magnificent Toledo

WoW - the half day tour is actually a day tour extending from 0900 till 1700. We really enjoyed the splendour and beauty of Toledo. So picturesque and full of history. A special thanks to our guide Arancha for sharing her knowledge.

Not the tour we paid for

We booked the 1/2 day tour. Showed up at 8:30 am, as instructed, at the designated pickup location. There were 50 or 60 others. Bus was 1/2 hour late. We arrive in Toledo about 10:30, got driven around by bus for 45 minutes, then had a 1/2 hour toilet break. Guide walked us all around til 12:15, all the while repeatedly pressing my husband and me to spend another 35 Euros to get cathedral tickets and telling us it was a full-day tour, til 5pm. Seems we were the ONLY folks who took the 1/2 day. At 12:15pm, everyone else went into the cathedral and we were told to come back at 1pm! She was so repeatedly insistent that we should stay, that I finally told her off. When everyone else came out of the cathedral, we walked to see the el Greco. Once we left that, she released everyone for lunch til 3pm. We pressed her to get us back to Madrid, as per our tickets. And, she called us a cab. Didn’t see much of anything, rode around by bus. Tour company treated us unfairly by allowing us to believe we were on the 1/2 day tour and likely figuring they could pressure us into staying the day, which was our choice to make not theirs.

A day in Toledo

Our tour guide was very nice. However, the group needed to be split in half and have separate guides. One for Spanish speaking people and one for English speaking people. It was very frustrating having to listen to everything being said in both languages.

Good guide,lousy administration

At reserving the trip we had choice of 2 meeting places. When we came about 15 minutes before 9am,there were no busses, no tour guides .Luckily one of tourists found small note in spanish on the door that only one place is meeting point. Everybody started to run .over there We got no text,no e mail about changing plans Tour guide was excellent,,very pleasant,and knew the subject We used Viator for many years,,but lately there are too many aggravations and poor management.

Awesome tour & guide!

Arancxa was an amazing tour guide! So friendly and accommodating. Toledo was beautiful - definitely a must see!

Good itinerary but fell short of my expectations!

Tour guide asked us to check in at 8.30, but herself was not here. We rushed to get there and we were there sharp 8.30. Bus left at 9.20. Name of our tour was half day, but we returned to Madrid by 5.30. Our other sightseeing plans in the afternoon especially Royal Palace had to be cancelled and we lost its ticket money. We booked English tour, however most of the time guide was talking in Spansih and some English. Later part of the tour was more in English. I still give her credit, as she tried her best to show as much she can. So we gave her tip too.

Everyone should have the experience of seeing Toledo through guides as wonderful as Arantxa!

Our guide, Arantxa was extraordinary. Her love for her country and its culture made us love it as well. She was exrtremely knowledgeable, fluent in English and Spanish, and so very patient with all of us as a group. She addressed us as her "family" and throughout the tour, we truly felt that we were here family. Lots of time to take pictures in beautiful places and lots of patience for those who may have thought they would have a hard time keeping up. It is lovely to feel her love for the beautiful things in her country. She must do this tour countless times, but she has not lost her love and appreciation for the things she showed us. Thanks for such a beautiful day.

Terrible customer service

Terrible experience with your company and Viator . We missed this tour by 15 min due to miscommunication , messaged the tour company to clarify tine and location , with no response . Was given no refund or the option to reschedule or even credit . Viator was useless. Will never use Viator again .

Great tour and great guide

I went on this tour and my guide was Rafa! He was very knowledgeable and thorough. He was fun guide to have and I wouldn't have learned as much as I did without him. It was a fun tour and very beautiful tour to go on. I would say the only thing I didn't like was it said half day and we were gone 8 hours. I would not hesitate to book this tour or the company.
