Toledo Highlights Tour for Explorers from Madrid

Awful guide, terrible tech for this tour

We have toured through England, Italy, and now Spain and I can honestly say, very sadly, this was the worst tour we have ever taken. The bus was fine and the guide on the bus was fine, but then we were handed over to Maria, who was in a very big hurry. She flipped between Spanish and English very quickly, and it was hard to keep up. She also walked very fast and talked before the entire group had caught up to her, which meant most of us missed a lot of what she said. She only wore a little speaker and we did not have headsets like on most tours, so it was hard to hear her, even if you were right in front of her – and passing vehicles or loud people didn’t stop her from talking on. At the end, she told us that she had spent too much time with us already and took off. I feel like I didn’t learn much about the town and what I did see was a blur because we were running to catch up most of it– there was barely time to take photos of the things we did find interesting. I was disappointed in the constant flip-flopping between languages instead of one tour for Spanish speakers, and one for English speakers. I would like to visit Toledo again with a better guide because it seemed like an amazing place. It’s important to know that we are not even close to elderly. I have no idea how the people older than us got anything out of it, and suspect they didn’t. We also started the tour in a large square with about four other tours at the same time, and told this was our opportunity to use the facilities. But the only facilities were at a Burger King and a McDonald’s, neither of whose staff was thrilled to be inundated with potty-hunting tourists. I don’t understand why we didn’t go to the public toilets at the visitors center, which was much better equipped to handle all of us. This was our third Viator booking in a week and the only one that was really a disappointment – and it was truly disappointing. Sadly, I don’t recommend it.

Excellent day out

Toledo is impressive and well worth a visit. Everything worked smoothly and Lydia was an enthusiastic tour guide.

Great day

Benito (Benny) did a good job of handling two languages and explaining the city to us all. We enjoyed the time after the tour to explore Toledo on our own.

Budget day trip to Toledo

Pick up point was easy to find in front of the bull ring in Madrid. The guide Lydia did not enforce mask wearing sadly on the coach. 45 mins free time on arrival before orientation tour seemed excessive to me. The guide advised that it would not be possible to get to the other side of the river to the normal viewing points due to a Sunday procession. Luckily I went anyway and there was a big festival going on with food/drink stalls and the BEST views back to the old city! Plenty of free time to explore. On arrival back in Madrid, again Lydia advised that Reina Sofia museum would be open and free for the last 2 hours. However, it closes at 1430 on a Sunday so was a wasted journey!

Easy and inexpensive way to see Toledo

Bus was clean and left on schedule. Made a stop for a couple of panoramic pictures before taking an included walking tour. Guide gave us some tips on things to see during our free period. Had plenty of time to see Cathedral, El Greco painting and other sights. Pick up points in Madrid and Toledo were easy to find. Good combination of guided tour and flexibility to wonder on your own.. Excellent guide. I would recommend. Toledo is beautiful.

IBE day trip to Toledo (Toledo Express)

Great experience. David and Irene were excellent guides. We had a very pleasant walking tour, then did the cathedral on our own. Only downside was having to wait for Monica to leave, who came back late saying she was at a private party (lame excuse to explain her tardiness). Then the bus driver took off quickly, and Monica fell into the bus stairway. She seemed to be drunk, therefore, was apparently uninjured. What an everlasting memory of Toledo. I would encourage bus driver to not leave until every person is seated.It could have been a disaster. I understand he was impatient, as we all were. We were glad that Monica was not injured, other than perhaps a hangover.

Toledo express, nice and easy way to explore Toledo

I booked the tour through Booking. The meeting point was easy to find and the bus left on schedule to Toledo. Our guide Irene provided information about the schedule for the day and about Toledo on our way to Toledo. All information was provided in English and in Spanish. Her English was very clear and easy to understand. Before arriving to Toledo we stopped to take pictures of the view of the city. In Toledo we had 30 minutes for breakfast and then we were divided into Spanish group and English group. Our guide for the English group, Daniel, explained everything very clearly and provided interesting stories and facts. The city tour took about one hour and then we had free time until the departure time, about 5 hours. It would have been nice to have information from the guides about the bracelet that gives you access to 7 monuments, and that you can buy the bracelet from any of the monuments. I liked that the day was relaxing and not too much of a rush. I think the tour was a good and easy way to explore and learn about Toledo.

Great day in Toledo

I booked the tour through Booking. The bus left on time from a very easy spot to reach. The day was sunny and warm and we had a pleasant walking visit through Toledo. Our guide was Lidia who was very kind and funny and explained everything so clearly. During the time off I visited the Toledo cathedral where I spent almost 2 hours! The guides offered us a map so it was easy to walk around the town. It was a great experience which I recommend and I’ll try more guided visits in the future.

Plaza McDonalds......

Don't think about it.... Just Book it, put on your walking Shoes and get ready to see one of the Coolest Places on earth.... This was a great introduction to this wonderful city. Rocio our Guide was simply incredible. She is smart, funny and really cares about each of her guests. She made sure our 7 yr. old (the only kid in the group) enjoyed the tour as well as the adults. The architecture is wonderful and the history due to the three cultures make it truly unique. Enjoy!!!

Toledo trip

Drive to Toledo was comfortable. The bus microphone was not working so difficult to hear guide. The walking tour was informative.

Quality declined very fast

Did this tour for the second time. That is why I was expecting something completely different. The first time was very high quality, this time the bus driver was very rude, the tour guide only joined in Toledo, didn't explain much as the microphone wasn't working. Compared to the first time we only had half of the walking tour, it ended at an earlier point and much sooner. Super disappointing as I have bought this tour as a present for my parents - never again, there are plenty of other tour operators. Choose wisely.

Best Value Trip We Did In Spain

The Toledo Express tour was an excellent full day experience to beautiful Toledo. We decided to book the tour at the last minute, and we're so glad we did. Our tour guide Rocio shared her outstanding historical knowledge of Toledo, taking us to several interesting locations. On request she also recommended some eating places that served delicious local dishes. After the tour we were able to explore the winding cobblestone streets of Toledo on our own. Definitely place this day trip on your itinerary. Professionally organised and very friendly.

Outstanding

Outstanding guide. We had an amazing day in Toledo and that could not have been possible without Lidia. She took us around Toledo showing a complete knowledge of the beautiful history of Toledo; the structures, cathedral and monuments. In addition to the very friendly approach and good sense of humor, Lidia makes herself easily available and flexible to attend your wishes. Highly recommended for sure.

The perfect way to see Toledo - The Toledo Express

We had considered taking the train to Toledo and then realized that getting the iconic view of the city was going to be challenging. After arriving by train we would have to take a bus to the overlook for the view. So instead we opted for this bus tour and were pleased that the bus stopped for photo opps for the view of the city before unloading to begin the walk to the town.The cost of the bus tour was comparable to a train ride. The meeting point and departure from a restaurant near Atocha train station was smooth. Rocio was our guide and she was a very good communicator and spoke very good English. As we toured the town of Toledo for about an hour, she demonstrated very good knowledge of the city and a very good sense of humor, using some surprising English idiomatic expressions. After the city orientation tour, we had plenty of time on our own to explore Toledo. Only at the end was there a disappointment. Rocio had informed us that, due to a bicycle race that day, we would not be able to return to Atocha. Instead we were to be dropped off at Ventas, near the bull ring metro station. Unfortunately this change increased the cost of the day by an additional $ 7.00 since we had to purchase a metro card and pay for the metro ride. That was our first and only metro ride so we were happy that there was help in navigating the purchase process at the metro. Rocio also has very good hospitality training and was apologetic about the change in drop off. She is a very good communicator, anticipating what might be asked and what we needed to know. She gets 5 STARS!

Is there something Beni doesn't know?

Beni is one of the best guides I've ever met. He is friendly, accurate and professional. He explained history and anecdotes of Toledo and when I had any question he always had the perfect answer. Congratulations!

Tourist rip off

We went to IBE tour to Toledo after it was recommended by SANDEMAN walking tour guide. We assumed this was also a SANDEMAN trip (which we enjoyed). We paid 25 Euro per person basically for the ride to Toledo and the most basic, uninformative tour. Our guide walked us briefly through some main attractions and left us with a meeting point for pick up which we had not visited before. They do not get any of your details - not name or telephone number, if you show up or not they have no way to get in contact with you. This was an expensive ride to Toledo, that's all. Make better use of your time and find a real company with a real guide !

IBE Excursions NEVER AGAIN!

My husband and I were waiting since before 9am on 04-02 for a trip to Toledo - Spain with nine other people and the bus simply didn't SHOW UP. We called, the phone was not answered, we sent an email and nothing. After waiting for over an hour, they said they couldn't do anything, as the bus had passed and didn't see 11 (ELEVEN) PEOPLE! A TOTAL LACK OF RESPECT! IBE Excursions NEVER AGAIN!

Nice day in Toledo

The tour has been very interesting and well organized. After a 1 and a half hour walking tour with our local guide Eva ñ, who explained everything to us very well in English and Spanish, we had a lot of free time to discover Toledo and its wonders on our own. We had a great time on the bus trip, the driver Ricardo was very attentive and professional.

Muy Deficiente

Muy deficiente la guía en sus explicaciones, era de Toledo pero no se notó. Decepcionante. Su inglés totalmente deficiente! Horrible. Para rematar nos dejaron botados al grupo completo y tuvimos que regresar por nuestra cuenta en autobus de la terminal o taxi privado.

Benny e Irina.. soy guías increíbles. Yo contrate Toledo Express, por lo que fui a Toledo con Benny y el nos explico toda la historia hasta llegar. Y luego realice un guiado a pie con Irina por el casco antiguo, su explicación super buena, no fue aburrido y siempre pendiente de todos .

A refaire !

Super expérience : les guides étaient très sympathiques, la visite guidée sur place intéressante et d'une durée idéale. Le détour à Tolède est à faire si vous passez à Madrid, que ce soit pour en visiter les monuments ou simplement pour profiter de ses belles ruelles ! Le bus était par ailleurs confortable et les explications sont faites en anglais (facilement compréhensible) et en espagnol par les guides. Nous recommandons !

Excelente guía y tour por Toledo

Tuve la mejor impresión de Toledo, el servicio del tour y la guía de Patricia fueron excelentes! La lluvia no fue impedimento para descubrir hermosa, cuidad. El viajar solo me permitió conocer a alguien muy especial que hoy me llevo en mis recuerdos más bonitos de continuar con mi viaje!

Ottima alternativa al Fai da Te

quando ho prenotato il tour ero un pò scettica, in quanto abituata a viaggiare e girare sempre in modalità autonoma, tuttavia, valutando costo e recensioni, mi sono fidata e devo dire che sia stata una valida scelta, il viaggio è stato molto confortevole, prima di arrivare a Toledo città, diciamo, si effettua una sosta al Mirador per godere di una vista mozzafiato, e raggiungerlo a piedi è un pò faticoso, infine il tour con le due guide molto preparate, Lisa e Patricia, in 45 minuti abbiamo toccato le tappe principali della città dopodiché si hanno due alternative o usufruire dell'ingresso a 7 monumenti sempre con loro, oppure FREE, noi abbiamo optato per la seconda. Comunque il tuor è molto consigliato, anche gli orari sono comodi

Excelente paseo! El guía estupendo pues no solamente era sólido en cuanto a sus conocimientos, sino que era muy simpático. La organización del paseo nos permitió lineamientos generales y luego, plena libertad. Muy recomendable.

Insatisfechos

Contratamos el tour de Ibe tours por medio de Expedía y supuestamente era el tour de Toledo con 7 monumentos y Catedral. Comenzamos mal pues nos citaron a las 8:45 am y el autobús llegó al punto de partida hasta las 9:30 am y no había nadie en el lugar, así que al principio pensamos que tal vez nos habían estafado. Ya que llegaron, la encargada del grupo nos dijo que nuestro tour no incluía la Catedral y que ese era un error de Expedía en su página Web... Disfrutamos del paseo porque Toledo es hermoso por si mismo. Sin embargo la guía nos pareció poco profunda y con preparación muy incipiente. Nlo recomendamos.

Super excursion

Le mot de la journée: SUPER! Super guide qui avait une connaissance impressionnante de Tolède et de ses fameuses anecdotes. Elle nous a donnée des idées sympa pour manger (pisto manchego à déguster avant de quitter Tolède). Bus confortable et conduite agréable du chauffeur jusqu'au point d'arrivée.

El guía Bernardo fue súper simpático y atento, excelente! El día de la excursión fue muy feo, llovía mucho y no nos dieron la opción de elegir otra fecha.

Imperdibles tours para conocer Madrid y alrededores

Hicimos 2 tours y resultaron geniales. El primero fue para conocer la ciudad de Toledo y el segundo para visitar el palacio real de Madrid. En ambos la información recibida y la calidez de los guías fue muy buena, ademas de que estuvieron muy bien armados, y pudimos conocer muchisimo de Toledo en tan solo un dia, y del palacio real en tan solo unas horas. Sin dudas que vale la pena realizar estos tours, para complementar la visita de la ciudad que uno pueda hacer a su propio aire!!

Qué buen recuerdo.

Ciudad medieval que fue ejemplo de tolerancia entre las tres culturas (árabe, cristiana y hebrea). Visitas a Sinagogas, Mezquitas e Iglesias que dialogaban. Descansar de vez en cuándo y aprovechar para una cerveza y unas tapas buenísimas. Nuestra guía nos pareció estupenda: Amena y muy capacitada, buena divulgadora de la historia del arte, amenizando las explicaciones con algunas curiosidades. Calles con un encanto singular. Siempre deja con ganas de más... Una jornada muy bien organizada...

Tour a Toledo

Contratamos la excursión a través de Sandemans, y es la primera vez que me llevo una decepción, pero entiendo que está terciarizando y por eso el reclamo es a Ibe tours. Se limitaron a hacer el traslado y a una guía muy poco instruida, Bárbara. Entre que ella cortaba las frases en español para traducir en el momento a un inglés paupérrimo, y la linealidad de sus conocimientos en historia ("a los cristianos no les gustaban los árabes, entonces un día los echaron"), dejó muchísimo que desear. Por otra parte, a la ida nos habían indicado en el plano un punto de encuentro y el micro salió de otro (no lo perdimos sólo porque un grupo que nos había visto contratarlos nos indicó de dónde estaba saliendo). No lo volvería a elegir.

El tour fue excelente así como la atención, la predisposición y los conocimientos históricos de la guía Sara. Muy recomendable!
