Everything organized very well, all was in time, guides was very enthusiastic, Toledo is absolutely amazing, thank you for that!

Good with some mishaps

Toledo is a very nice place to visit - I paid extra for the bracelet and the zip line but didn't have time to do everything - I didn't go in shops and ate a light snack while walking. I m still waiting for a reply to my written complaint. Also pick up point not well explained and 7 of the group had to be picked from a different location after phoning the tour organisation.

Poor communications

This was so confusing. We were put on a bus with people that were doing 4 different tours. There was a group with a half day tour, whole day tour, going to Segvoia and then we were doing whole day with train by ourselves. We had no idea when we were supposed to leave or where to get train. We never did take train so weren't even able to do it. Carlos was a terrible guide. It felt like he hated his job and we were a bother.

Late, disorganized and lack of balance in translation

I loved seeing Toledo, but VPT tours was poorly organized. Tour coordinators did not have a point of check-in when you arrived. The were not sure which bus to assign you to and sadly, I witnessed three people unable to join the tour because the bus was full. The tour was suppose to be bilingual English/Spanish. For every few sentences of description in Spanish, we heard one sentence in English. They mixed the full day tour with the half day tour. We were on the half day tour. If you were on the half day tour you only got to see exterior points of interest and had to pay extra for admission. Were also suppose to have access to the Toledo Train but were never given directions or tickets to access the train. Toledo was beautiful. We learned more by taking the hop on- hop off bus tour after our half day tour concluded. VPT tour was a glorified bus ride to Toledo. Next time I will go to Toledo by train on my own and do the hop on-hop off bus.

Great trip

Toledo is wonderful, and I liked the "on your own" part, however we lost about 30 minutes with a late bus.

Toledo by Bus

Coach bus was comfortable (no washroom available on bus) and was only a 1 hour trip to Toledo. Would have been good to have additional information provided as the journey approached our destination. The bus tours around the old city which duplicated the same route as the train ride. Overall, well worth the cost to see the town.

Could have been better

Very disorganized. Several buses waiting to figure out which one is taking what group of people. On the way back the driver wouldn’t allow us back on the bus even though we came on time and it was very hot outside until the “leader”, who was late, arrived.

Tour was great until..

The bus leaving in the morning was on schedule, it was well air conditioned, a very comfortable journey. They gave a lovely panoramic tour on the bus before we got into the actual town which was also lovely. The tour guide then walked us through a lovely tour of the old town providing good information on what to do and what was included in our package. All in all it is absolutely, 100% a must see if you're visiting Madrid. An absolutely lovely place. At the end, the bus going back to Madrid was delayed about 25 minutes. When we got on the bus, it was poorly air conditioned and the bus was dirty. I'm not sure if this is a frequent problem, but it certainly sucked after a hot day in the Spanish sun.

What did she say?

The amplifier that our guide wore did not help at all! When she is in the lead down a narrow, winding cobblestone street and it is amplifying in front of her and we are strung out behind her, we could not hear a word she was saying. The torrential rain wouldn't have dampened our spirits if we could have heard any of her commentary. Instead of riding the train and continuing to get soaked, we opted for the earlier return on the bus.

Train around Toledo

Cheapest way to see the city. Would have got a 5 star but it’s not hop on hop off. Bus is the best for that. We went with the train as too hot for bus. Takes you to a place to get great view. You stop here once . It helps orientation

<p>I recommend this trip. We were not picked up at the hotel, but the departure location was a 5-minute walk from our hotel, so it was not a problem. The bus left on time. Maria, our tour guide, was very informative and spoke of the history of Toledo on the way there. The ride is only 1 hour from Madrid by bus. Once we were there, Maria guided us to the escalators that took us to the top of the city from where the bus dropped us off, and trust me, the escalator is necessary as the city is perched on top of a steep hill. After walking half of the city with the Maria, we split off because we had the Toledo on your own tour and headed to tour the cathedral on our own. After we had linch and took the trolly/train ride that was included in our tour price. The trolly is really only good to get a great view of Toledo from a great vantage point across the river, but had it been a separate charge, probably would not have been worth it.</p> <p>If I have one complaint it is that we were under the impression that there would be a 4:30pm return bus to Madrid and there wasn't. Our options were 1pm or 7pm and this was not particularly clear when booking. However, we made the best of it and opted for the later bus.<br/> Overall, it was a splendid day trip and worth the time.</p>

<p>Bus picked us up at our Hotel to join the main bus leaving Madrid. We made a stop before entering Toledo, large souvenier shop with WC's - possibly 15mins. Upon reaching Toledo our guide brought us from the Bus Park up into the city via the escalator and we had a short guided tour to the main square, a bonus for us as we were not expecting this. Tourist train in Toledo an absolute must, sit on the right hand side I would suggest for photos We took the option of the 4.30pm bus back into Madrid. Absolutely value for money and Toledo is a beautiful walled city</p>

<p>This tour is primarily abut getting transportation to Toledo. We met at the Temple of Debod at 8:45, but the bus did not leave for Toledo until 9:30. It would be helpful if the local tour company sponsoring this trip wore a name badge or had some other identifying feature. The history that was given during the drive was quite basic and we had to ask for our train tickets upon arrival. There is an Information Center across the street where you can get a map and information about Toledo. Luckily we saw this from the bus because it wasn't even mentioned by the tour guide. I would definitely recommend visiting Toledo and taking the train, but don't expect much more than the bus ride from this tour.</p>

Visiting at our own pace and...

<p>Visiting at our own pace and according to our own interests was ideal. The tourist train is an absolute must as you see the town from outside the walls and across the river, an ideal preparation for seeing El Greco's painting of Toledo. We chose the 9.00 departure and stayed until 4.30 but could easily have stayed longer. Also, we had not expected to be guided as far as the cathedral from the coach drop-off and, although informative and useful, this did cut down on our time for visiting independently. Overall though, an excellent trip to this fabulous city.</p>

<p>While I thoroughly enjoyed Toledo, I felt that the tour operator was somewhat disorganized and didn't provide much guidance in the way of direction or what could be enjoyed in Toledo. Luckily I had done some research before taking this tour, so I was prepared. And the tour operator did pick me up at my hotel. However, after boarding a bus in preparation for the tour, several of us were asked to leave the bus because we were on the wrong bus. A little disconcerting. Toledo itself was interesting, but I might try to find another tour operator if I were to return.</p>

<p>Too little time for Toledo on this trip. The tourist train was great and a must do as it takes you outside Toledo and you get great views and vistas of Toldedo. I liked doing Toledo on my own, but the time available was too little considering you easily get lost in the maze of streets. Getting back to the pick up point was difficult, as the hotel mentioned for pick up could not be found on google maps. So I suggest you mark the location. End of trip was marked by panic, wrong directions and I went around in circles before I found my way back. Almost missed my bus back. Also please contact the agency by email, if you can't call I couldn't. They do not inform you of the pick up points which they should as they insist on pick up and time on their own. The last point of departure in case you can't contact them is their office.</p>

<p>Good tour intro on bus - overall gave us a good intro to the city - then had plenty of time to roam on our own- train tour was very worth the money - got to see everything - great to have option to come back on either the 2 pm bus or the 4:30 bus.</p>

<p>Enjoyed the town of Toledo and the history. We visited the Museum on our own and it was worth more than the entrance fee paid. There was so much to see. The Tourist Train ride was very nice as the views are very picturesque. I would recommend the full day tour to be able to see most of Toledo.</p>

I was disappointed with this tour...

<p>I was disappointed with this tour. It was a bus to Toledo from Madrid, and we were told there would be a one hour guided walk, to a tourist train, and then free time. We wanted to get to a particular place first thing, and there was no flexibility, so we didn't get the guided walk. That was acceptable, but the guide gave no helpful information at all. He didn't tell us that to take the tourist train we had to exchange our voucher for a ticket at a set time, or that the trains filled up, so that when we got to it, it was too late for us to take it. He didn't tell us that some attractions got very busy at particular times, so we didn't arrange where we went the smartest way and missed one of the main attractions of the city. Basically the guide was useless to us, we were on our own, and would have been better off taking a train from Madrid and walking around ourselves, which is what we did.</p>

<p>Toledo was amazing and the tourist train once there is a must but there are easier ways to get there. The hotel pick-up is a joke. They said to be in the lobby at 8:15, they arrived at 8:50, we didn't reach Toledo until after 10:30, do yourself a favor and take the high-speed train.</p>

We had such an amazing time with...

<p>We had such an amazing time with this tour. They gave you your own personal headphones to hear about the history of toledo. The town looks like it is built inside the walls of a Castle. There are a lot of hills to walk up and around but 100 worth it. If you are interested in going off alone there is a tourist information booth at the bottom of the town that will give you a map and additional tourist spots to visit!! 100 worth every cent paid We would recommend this tour.</p>

<p>A really great trip. The tour guide was really friendly and knowledgeable. The places we were shown around Toledo were magnificent! The only thing I would have to say is that we didn't get a chance to go on the tourist train, but that may have been because we left on the later tour 3pm. I had no problem walking around the town, however. For me, it made the experience that much better. All in all, it was definitely a tour to remember.</p>

<p>First: Toledo is a MUST if you are in Madrid. Beautiful town on a hill where Jews, Christians and Muslims all lived together in peace for 400 years! I'd give this tour a 5 but our bus sort of dumped us at the entrance and left us on our own and although it was Toledo on your own it would have been nice to have been pointed in the right direction at the start. But, regardless, we found our way to all the major sites. DO TAKE THE Train - I know, it looks dorky but it takes you outside the city and you get to see the walls and it stops at a breathtaking overview!</p>

<p>A perfect way to see and experience Toledo! We took the train first to get an overview of the city during which you are rewarded with a spectacular view of the city from a hill outside the city walls. Plenty of time to explore what you want. We stopped at the visitor's center first for map and guidance. Escalators assist people part way up the hills to the main square. However, with decreased mobility, we chose to take a public bus from the main entrance up to the main plaza for 2 euros and were the envy of others from our bus from Madrid who were now way behind us. Be prepared for lots of walking up and down hills.</p>

<p>I didn't want to give it 1 star but because my group and I were very disappointed and felt cheated, I didn't have a choice. We got picked up at 8:15am bus has to pick up other people -fair enough, were told the tour starts at 9am the ride time into Toledo is counted as your tour time.. huh???. finally pull out at 9:15am to Toledo, after a small game of musical buses switching buses. We get there close to 10:30am, given the choice of the early 1pm return bus or the late 4:30pm bus. Of course chose latter. This tour is promoted as 8hrs to explore Toledo on your own, when in fact you have much less time than that, it's barely 5hrs.. 2hrs traveling to/from and another 1hr/1.5hrs on the line and tour train.. clearly not the enough time to do Toledo, go into the cathedral which is closed for 2hrs from 2pm-4pm, into the Alcazar, the sinagogas, etc. -- these are the main items we were not able to check out because we had to still trek back to the other side of Toledo to meet the bus. Needless to say, we feel like we left empty handed. Don't bill a tour as 8hrs when it's really not. Travel time to the destination should not count as 'tour time'. Toledo is a beautiful town and rich in history, with lots to explore...</p>

While in Madrid, set aside a day to get to know Toledo. Beautiful city, beautiful cathedral. Fantastic architecture. Walk the streets, discover an old synagogue.

Toledo un angolo di storia Europea

Con la TAV da Madrid siamo arrivati in breve tempo in questa carinissima cittadina, dove le vestigia di un passato remoto sono ancora visibili il ponte romano ( i resti) le mure che la circondano e il ponte dove si inizia la vista di questa bella cittadina riportano i visitatori alle vestigia e alla bellezza della storia in tutte le sue sfaccettature.La visita con il trenino con la traduzione audio presente nella carrozza aiuta sicuramente a conoscere la storia di questo piccola città, durante il percorso si ferma fuori città per permettere ai visitatori di effettuare rilievi fotografici del panorama. Il consiglio dopo questo percorso è quello di perdersi nei vicoli, scoprendo scorci nascosti fuori dalle guide turistiche.unica pecca che qui ti fanno pagare tutto dalle chiese alla moschea.Un consiglio per la pausa di pranzo fermatevi presso al Fabricantes Ibericos de Salamanca in calle commercio, Prosciutto spettacolare e non solo, Vino e birra locale.

<p>Buen tour, pero en el detalle no te dice que es a tu propio ritmo es decir que la guía nos dió unas explicaciones básicas, pero no conoces los principales monumentos de toledo. El tren, es un bonito recorrido y las explicaciones grabadas, te ponen en mejor contexto.</p>
