Excellent tour

Our tour guide Elena was wonderful! Great tour wonderful story teller very engaging. Perfect amount of time in the museum to get all the important works. Was not boring for the teens because it was fast paced and to the point.

Unprofesional

The tour was canceld with no pertinent explanation. Also the other two: at Reina Sofia Musem and at Prado Museum!?! They offered postpone dates after a week?!? Of course not beeing spanish, we have left Madrid the day after!!! So, we have to pay the entance at this museums - no use of the GoCity Card!!!

Fantastic Tour and Your Guide!

Helena, our guide, delivered fantastic narration at the Prado as well as the Reina Sophia. She’s super knowledgeable and friendly. Art History is in her blood. 10 of 10!

Prado Museum...a must

As impressive inside as it is outside. Wow ! There is just so much to see that it would be wasted not having a guide. Not only did we see some of the masterpieces: they were explained to us in detail. The Guernica can't be missed

Tour of the Prado

Prado museum

Our guide Beatrix was fantastic. She was passionate, enthusiastic and very interesting to listen to. She told us stories to guide us through the history of art . We loved it !!

Amazing Tour

The tour was very enjoyable. The guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and willing to answer questions. Would definitely recommend to anybody who wants to know more about the history behind the art at the Prado Museum that isn't available for regular visits.

Master class of history of art!!!

We took a reservation for a guided tour with Go City pass. It was easy to have a reservation and the appointment with the guide HELENA was easy to find. Starting the visit at the opening hour was a good timing, so many peoples were waiting . The tour is very well organised with the guide Helena. She gave us more than simple informations, it was litterally a master class of history of art. We really enjoy our visit and highly recommand guide Helena! ( forgive my english, I am a french speakink tourist from Québec , Canada.

Prado Museum review

Great tour and excellent guiding by Helena. Maybe is need more time for this tour because Prado Museum is too big and waiting in line for entrance should be skippes for the groups.

Excellent tour

This tour is a excellent introduction to the art in the museum. Our tour guide Carla showed us specific artists and explained their significance in Spanish art. It was nice that you could go back and see other parts of the museum on your own once the tour was complete. Make sure to see the Tintoretto painting of Christ washing the disciples feet. The painting changes as you view it from right to left.

Helena is the best

We did the Reina Sofía and Prado tour with Helena, she is awesome! She adapted her message even to my kids for them to enjoy the session, and was wonderful! She was also taking care of everyone. Extremely passionate with her role. Will repeat for sure next time in Madrid!

They cancelled on us.

They cancelled our tour less than a day before we were supposed to go. They refunded our money, but the damage was done. We had no tour of the Prado and it messed with our entire schedule for the day. Also, because of exchange rate fluctuations, we lost money.

Started late, Ended Early. Only 6 paintings tour.

We did the two hour Prado museum tour that meets at 9:45 AM through GoCity Madrid with a short female with short dark hair (Leon). There was a party of 4 and a party of 2, so we thought that we would be able to see a lot with a small group. The tour guide was with 2 other guides, so we thought, hey maybe even more attention. Unfortunately, despite reserving the timed tour in advance, she did not buy the tickets until that morning and waited in line. Unfortunately we then had to wait in another line to go through security, resulting in us not entering the exhibit until 10:30. If she bought the timed tickets in advance, which is expected as this tour had to be reserved in advance for a specific time, the security and ticket line would have been much shorter. Why have us come early at 9:45 if you are not prepared? She discussed 6 paintings in the entire Prado, which has thousands of paintings and the tour ended early at 11:30, despite starting late. I would not recommend this tour. It was poor value.

Perfect amount of time!

The tour was an excellent overview of the highlights of the Prado. Our guide was able to show us the most precious pieces of the gallery and describe them in detail.

Disorganized and terrible guide

Disorganized guides for too many people. When I asked who was the English guide, I was told it was the woman, then it changed to one of the men. The tour didn't start until about 30-40 mins later. Then our guide would spend such a long time describing details on one painting then would say, later you should see these other paintings. The Prado is full of great masterpieces, I felt that we were shown too few with too much time spent on a handful of them. Midway through, half of our group left because the tour and guide were so bad.

Great tour with a wonderful guide.

We loved this tour. The guide was very personable along with being knowledgeable about the museum and it’s collection. She went into detail about the significance of the art she was describing. Many times she included the significance of the portrait in the history of Spain. The best part, (para Mi), was when she asked us to stand in different places to look at the portraits from different perspectives. She let us ask questions and engaged with the group in conversations. All in all, a wonderful tour.

Good Prada Museum tour in English

The tour guide with Amigo Tours was very knowledgeable, friendly and interesting. I would recommend him as he gave a very good tour.

Great Tour!

Nacho was an amazing tour guide. He took us to the most important pieces and tied their artistic and historical themes to Spanish and world history.

Excellent tour

Our tour guide was excellent. She did a great job explaining everything to us and went so far has to have information and further photos on her phone to show us art that could be compared to what we were seeing. It was obvious that she loves her job and that showed in the quality of her tour.

Tour not as promised, very disappointed

My friend and we (total 3) signed up for the English tour in a small group tour (no more than 6 people), respectively. On the the day before, the tour company changed our schedule and put us in another group with 12 people. They cancelled my friend's reservation completely. We were the only two English speaking guests in the 12 people tour. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and did her best to accommodate us by translating every sentence into English. However the back and forth translation made our experiences not quite favorable.

Museo del Prado

The tour guide took us to the major works and explained their significance and history. She was knowledgeable about the history as well as technique and style, definitely very knowledgeable about art history. We enjoyed the tour and it was only 90 minutes which was perfect because we then had some time to explore our favorite styles on our own after.

Our guide Stephie (not sure of spelling) was excellent. She was a wealth of knowledge of the art displayed at the Prado.

Insightful and unique

Our guide was really friendly and spent time talking about certain paintings that might be interesting and overlooked (as well as describing some of the popular paintings). Would thoroughly recommend!

Outstanding Experience

Very good tour by the guide to the main works of the museum despite the crowds. The visit to the top floor concerning Goya would have been a plus in the guided tour.
