Segovia with Alcazar Guided Tour by High-Speed Train from Madrid

Great tour!

Segovia was beautiful. I appreciate the tour of the cathedral ( the Alcazar was closed when we went) and the historic center along with the hike near the lake. Cristina was a great tour guide, explaining key landmarks or historical details and making sure we were always comfortable. I appreciated her allowing us to stop by a bakery before we started the hike so my 7 years old could get a snack before he became hangry. She also offered to take pics throughout. Overall, we had a wonderful time.

Great excursion to see the Alcazar and Aqueduct.

Great side trip out of Madrid. Our guide Laura handled everything and the ride on the high speed train was fun. The Alcazar and the Aqueduct was stunning and the little city was charming. Enjoyed the hassle free experience very much.

Segovia: A Must Tour

The trip to Segovia was WONDERFUL! Our tour guide Cristina was great and made our overall experience perfect. Highly recommend this tour. Was nice to take train and everything was perfectly organized. Highly recommend

Our tour guide was awesome! She was very formative and ensured we all stayed together despite the very heavy crowds at the train stations. The Alcazar was the highlight of the experience! Such a great tour. We actually noticed some people trying to eavesdrop because of her great details. The hike was a bit much for our young children. We would have preferred to have spent the time wandering Segovia. We only had about 20 min to try to find souvenirs and spent the rest of free time (30) trying to get food as our kids were starving after the hike. Segovia is beautiful. You could spend a whole day exploring.

Great day via high speed train to Segovia

This was a great trip from Madrid to Segovia. We did have our start time changed by a few hours just the day before though luckily it still worked for our agenda. We did try contacting the tour operator, several times to get more info about the time change, though did not receive a call back. Other than the logistical issues, the tour itself was well worth the time. The meeting point was near the train station and the tour was limited to a small group of 6. Our guide, Laura) was fabulous. She was friendly, knowledgable, and entertaining. The tour gave us a good mix of time with the guide and time to ourselves to explore at our own pace. There was a lot of walking including a good deal of steps. Segovia itself including the aqueduct and the castle are well worth your time. While on vacation. I’m glad I was able to squeeze the tour in while in Madrid. I would definitely recommend this tour via the high speed train from Madrid as it gives you more time in Segovia than you would get from a bus tour

Great day in Segovia

Laura was a wonderful guide. So organized and very knowledgeable about Segovia. We loved every aspect of this day… the hike around the river, the castle tour and the historical information about the city. Laura gave us great referrals for restaurants which proved to be very good.

Absolutely Fantastic Experience

This tour was absolutely fantastic made even better by Laura whose energy and knowledge she shared with us as our guide. Segovia is a very photogenic gem that everyone visiting Spain should see. Our only suggestions would be to have a car ready at the train station to immediately pick up the tourists. The wait for taxis took away a bit of time from us to see more of the cute town. With that and another hour built in for us to explore further would be worth the cost even if the price were raised a bit.

Interesting tour of a striking city

Very good tour. The ride from Madrid was scenic and interesting. The aqueduct in Segovia was astounding. I wish we spent more time there. The hike down to the river was very pleasant, although we got a bit winded hiking back up. The Alcazar was extremely impressive and well-described by our knowledgeable guide. Lunch was good, but I wish we spent a bit less time at lunch so we could visit the cathedral and return to the aqueduct. Very good overall.

It wasn’t bad, but Expected more

The walk by the river was beautiful but it was much, much longer than anticipated so be warned. It’s a 50 minute walk that goes both uphill and up stairs. In addition, the guide really didn’t have much to say about the castle when we finally did arrive. It was nice and she got us in but I didn’t learn much. At the end of the day she tried to call taxis and hadn’t anticipated the low number of taxis and we ended up running around to find one, speeding to the station, and sprinting to the platform with only a minute to spare. I just think a bit more preparation was expected and is necessary.

We had a great experience. Our guide Christina was super friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend the tour.

Something Different

We were very lucky to have Christina as our guide. She’s so chill and very knowledgable about the areas. The river trail walk was special and we enjoyed it very much. Overall, a great tour that I would recommend to my friends and family.

Poorly planned tour

This is a poorly planned tour. Most of the time was wasted on river walk instead of city/castle/catedral/foods exploration. This tour is not suitable for older people. The tour guide seems to rush to complete the tour. Not recommended.

Segovia tour

Christina was great! Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The walk around the river was so peaceful and the views were incredible. We got a great tour of the castle and had a few hours of free time to eat and look at the cathedral.

Could very much improve with this guide.

The Guide mentioned that this was her first tour of this kind. I believe she might’ve been a substitute. We had to run to catch the train in the morning. The guide did not know many facts about this tour. When we were supposed to meet in the afternoon. She was 15 minutes late. Then her boss did not give her the correct date for the tickets. My three daughters had to run to catch the train with only two minutes left. I’m just giving this feedback to help her in her growth. And to not let others have the same experience.

Great tour

Cristina was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. I enjoyed seeing the castle. We had a nice outdoor lunch. The walk along the river was beautiful.

Laura was a great tour guide who knew so much, and was happy to answer any questions. She showed us some great spots along Segovia and even gave us a restaurant recommendation during our break. Great tour!

Perfect Experience

Laura made this tour so much better with her knowledge of Segovia and the Alcazar. We got extremely lucky as this experience only had my partner and myself on this particular day, so we in essence got a private tour from Laura. I highly recommend this particular tour with the high-speed train and the route we took, culminating in the Alcazar visit.

Our family group of 4 adults had a fantastic day trip to Segovia from Madrid. Diego, our guide was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the fast train to Segovia. We saw all the sights and had plenty of free time. We would highly recommend this trip.

Scenic Segovia and Majestic Alcazar Castle

Excellent tour. Our guide Diego went out of his way to find us since we got disoriented and went to the wrong meeting place. The high speed train ride from Madrid to Segovia took less than half an hour and is the way to go. Diego is very accommodating, knowledgeable, and fluent in English. The Alcazar Castle is worth every penny and the scenery around Segovia is breathtaking. The hike down the river is a little bit challenging and is definitely not recommended for people with mobility issues. Highly recommended!

Must do tour!

I can only say great things about this tour. First and foremost, our guide, Laura, was THE BEST. She was VERY knowledgeable and great to talk to, and wonderful to spend the day with. Taking a train to Segovia was a refreshing change from riding on a bus. This tour is also done in a small-group format and provides a lot of intimacy and one on one interaction, which adds greatly to the experience. While there was a fair amount of hiking, Laura took us through a route that only a local could possibly know. It was a very peaceful journey and I feel like I got to experience a part of Segovia that no tourist does. It included a private hike along a small river, an in-depth tour of the Alcazar, up-close visit to the Aqueduct, and some free time in the town. One of the best excursions I've ever had. 100% recommend.
