Segovia Tour from Madrid including Cathedral Admission

False advertising

I chose this trip specifically because it included entrance to the Alcázar in Segovia. We got there when it closed. Beatriz spent our time in Segovia in the Cathedral looking and explaining at everything. We were late getting to Segovia because of rush hour traffic. She could easily have shortened the Cathedral tour. She did not apologize for arriving late to the Alcázar and blamed it on traffic. The bus did not take the tour to see the Alcázar from the famous views from outside below. She did not explain that this was the original Walt Disney castle that many know.

Great option for half day tour from Madrid

Great tour providing just the right amount of information about the local sights. Very time efficient with sights so not a lot of time to spend wandering around the time at the end of the guided tour but that suited us. Tour guide was friendly and super helpful.

Very bad experience in our planned vacations...

We had a terrible experience with Viator and Madrid VPT tours specifically with the tour guide Cristina. We started taking a bus in Madrid that had already passengers coming from Toledo for a two city tour. In the bus Cristina, the tour guide, mention that some of those passengers tickets didn't include the Castle, Alcazar, visit. Her bad organization cause that 6 of the passengers weren't able to go inside the Alcazar even though we paid in advance. That means that 6 other passengers without having the right to get into the castle got in. She didn't validate the names and tickets with her list. The worst part was that Cristina had no 2nd plan. She didn't offer help nor walked to the ticket office for new ones. We told her about writing a bad review and She answered that She didn't care. The bottom line is that we came from another country and spent a lot of money to go to Segovia. Viator only and wrongfully gave us a reimbursement of 36 dollars instead of give all the cost of the activity.

Worst tour we have ever had in Europe

Left 30 min late, broken seats on. Bus, radios did not work to hear tour guide, Never took any walking ir bathroom breaks, walked too fast , did not keep track of all participantnts , no care of older people in tour , never given her name or phone number for contact if needed. Tour should have a map of where tour was starting and ending : was to be English, only half was : no control of those on tour

A long day with a lot of walking up hills, through small streets. caters better for Spanish language tourists but our guide was very professional

Amazing aqueduct

Beautiful sights. Nice to see the outskirts of Madrid. Tour guide was nice, not much excitement but kind.

Beautiful views, rich history-toured with convenience

Bus left at 3:05pm and reached back around 7:45pm, so not bad in terms of punctuality. But if I hadn’t followed the people who were leaving I would have missed the tour, the reception guy didn’t tell me the guide was here & I’d still be waiting The Bus ride was very comfortable, Silvia was very knowledgeable and gave useful details of the history and architecture etc all along the way. The tour is mainly of the alcazar castle and the Roman aqueduct (you can go on your own, in the 45 minutes remaining and shop if you like before heading back to the bus which left on time at 6:35pm) While walking from the castle to the aqueduct we saw the gothic cathedral from the outside and stopped a minute for pictures and walked through it the Jewish quarter Perfect for those who want a quick tour. If you want to tour in detail taking ur own take to see everything it is better to take the longer tour or tour by yourself. Very much worth the money!

Segovia tour

Great tour, the tour guide Maria was very friendly and informative. Beautiful scenery. Recommend it.

Terrible organization, big waste of time

This is for sure not a fault of the driver or the tour guide but the company VPT. We were told to arrive around 2:45 for 3pm tour. We were there even before and there was nobody to tell us where to go, which bus to take. Somebody finally told us stay here, and few more people were added to our tour. After 3pm they put us on a bus to sit and wait without any explanation till 4pm. What a waste of time. Finally we started complaining that we have booked restaurants at night and that we will be late plus they are wasting our precious time. We were very upset. This tour is made that they combine a big number of different tours, and they have to wait for the tours that are late. Do not waste your time with this company, find another option for sure.

Running, running!

First of all the bus left the meeting place 35 minutes late, with no explanation. It was a rainy day so that may have played into it, but no explanation was given. When we arrived in Segovia our guide (Maria) gave us 15 minutes to use facilities or get something to eat, since she was hungry and had to get something to eat. Then we were told at the end of visit we would get another 20 minutes to shop,etc. The castle was beautiful and the history very interesting. When the castle visit ended Maria, said, "now we head back to the bus" she then bolted in a fast speed walk back to the bus, leaving the people trailing behind a few blocks. It was a very long walk, up and down hills. She did not seem concerned about the ability of her clients to make this high speed walk back. My husband has back trouble and cannot walk very fast. He is not elderly, just has back problems and had a difficult time keeping up. After we finally made it to the bus, there were several people still trailing behind. Of course, we never did get our 20 minutes shopping time, nor did she mention it again or why it was cut off. There was definitely some kind of problem with this tour or the company, We were very rushed and I don't think it was worth the price we had to pay.

For a half day, wonderful trip!

We had a horrendously long layover in Madrid, so we decided to take the half day excursion to Segovia. We were glad we did! The saying that you know your favorite places you visit are always the ones that you wished you'd spent more time at, is definitely true for Segovia. I could stay here for a couple of days. Half a day is not enough time to tour everything, shop in the shops, and eat at the local cafes. We still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here.

DO NOT WASTE MONEY ON THIS TRIP

There were no audio ear sets. The guide did not care if all the folks in the group were near enough to hear him. and when one could hear him, the information was sketchy.. His attitude during the tour was "I couldn't care less". The same attitude was evident at the reception staff at the office of VPT Tours. We stayed 12 days in Spain and this tour was in stark contrast to all other tors we had.

Aqueduct and Alcazar of Segovia

The aqueduct was much larger than anticipated and quite the architectural marvel. The Alcazar was spectacular to see as well. My suggestions: have separate tour guides for each language as a lot of time was spent waiting for the same description to be stated in the other language. Not enough time was then allotted to tour the Alcazar and it was a race to get back to the bus on time. Nacho did a nice job providing details of the history of Segovia.

Not good at all

The bus was supposed be air conditioned. It was an hour and a 1/2 journey with outside temperatures of 103ﾟ and humidity of 76%. The air conditioner did not work on the bus and the company did absolutely nothing to rectify the problem. There was another tour bus available but they made no effort to accommodate us on the other bus. They did not even arrange enough time for us to get bottled water in order to cool ourselves down. The tour was extremely rushed. The tour guide spoke very little English and did most of the tour in Spanish. To be honest, less than 10% of the tour was in English where most of us had no idea what the relevance or significance of the different sites were. The tour guide was very abrasive and unfriendly. I would avoid this tour with this company.

Quick afternoon trip with good overview

This is a very good trip if you're looking for a shorter duration of a tour of an amazing place. It's 1.25 hours to get to Segovia by bus, so you end up with about 2 hours in Segovia. Our guide was knowledgable and covered all the highlights well, and managed the group. She gave descriptions in both Spanish and English. We greatly enjoyed seeing the aqueduct, cathedral and palace. These are amazing places and I'm so glad we took the time to visit. There's not time to eat there, but we did enjoy 30 minutes of free time at the end and had a gelato. There really isn't a lot to do other than see these wonderful places in Segovia, so unless it's lunch you're looking for this is a great tour. If you want more in-depth descriptions, you should book a longer tour since 2 hours gives just an overview of the sites. If was just right for us and I recommend it for those who want to visit this wonderful place in an afternoon.

They need to spend a little more...

Unsatisfactory tour

The guide knew a lot about the place, it's a shame that the little device they gave us to listen to what the guide was saying didn't have good sound, you could hardly hear it and the range of that device was almost zero, if you weren't close to the guide you couldn't hear it. . Furthermore, the tour was too fast, we did it almost running and they didn't leave us free time to even buy something to drink or even think about a souvenir.

Agradable experiencia

Aunque el tour es corto nuestro guía Alex hizo la experiencia muy interesante desde el principio hasta el final, sus explicaciones sencillas nos hicieron agradable la visita a esta hermosa ciudad. Lo único que faltó fue un poco más de tiempo libre porque siempre quieres tomarte algo sin prisas o comprar un souvenir.
