Our guide moved us through the lines and palace efficiently despite the enormous crowd. She explained things clearly and was very knowledgeable.

Great Time

Our guide was very clear and concise in her instructions about the entrance and experience, plus we started right on time and truly did jump the line. The palace is beyond phenomenal with art and history which was highlighted and explained in great detail by our guide. There’s no way to capture the history of the palace without an informed guide and ours did very well

It was good to meet at the Travel Agency. The group has a good size and the tour was well organized and interesting.

A better tour guide would have made a huge difference

Glad we got in last minute after another tour operator cancelled the day before. Glad I skipped the line but the tour itself was unorganized, difficult to understand (bad English) and very little was said that couldn’t have been learned from reading the signs in each room.

Great tour and extremely knowledgeable tour guide

Kathy was amazing! Very sweet and speaks multiple languages. Answered questions and was welcoming and respectful! She made the experience more enjoyable overall.

Tour of The Royal Palace

The tour was great and our tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable in all aspects of the Royal Family and the lineage.

Royal Palace tour

The Royal Palace was beautiful. Works of art literally in every corner of every room. However, the guide did the tour in both English and Spanish. My impression was that it would be done in the language you chose. Additionally, she was very difficult to understand. Fairly knowledgeable. Tour was supposed to be 2 hours but ended in 1.5 hours.

Worst tour!!! Not recommended

The guide was sick, coughing all the time. He was doing the explanation on Spanish and English so it was really difficult to catch up and you can barely hear what he was saying through the headphones. Wouldn’t recommend it at all!!!

Enjoyed very much our visit

We had an excellent guide who explained in detail the palace and its history. Our guide transmitted to us the sense of might of the Spanish Kingdom’s history.

bad expierence

this is a SCAM i always book through trip advisor but this company is doing some kind of scam so you stand infront of the palace20 min begore the meeting to discover ameeting point is diffrenet they dont mention it before and when you call before the trip time they tell you the tour already started and they refuse to send a ticket to enter the palace or to send you location to meet the group

Fantastic experience

Our tour guide was very professional & extremely knowledgeable. He made the tour interesting & he told some great anecdotes that made the tour memorable. The Julia travel office was the easiest meeting point we had for all of our Viatours in Spain.

Long entrance line no skipping at all waited 1 hour in line. Palace was closing earlier than expected . Tour felt rushed.

Not worth the money or time . . .

We paid for skip the line but we had to wait in a long line. The audio was horrible and staticky. The lowest volume selection was too loud.

Don’t take bilingual tour if you’re an English speaker

Guide was late. It was supposed to be English and Spanish but there was more Spanish. English was difficult to understand. Felt rushed and very superficial explaining

would like a refund

Our tour was supposed to start at 4pm. On Saturday April 27. The guide waited a few minutes for late comers which is not fair. She then handed out headsets that did not work. It took a while to fix and then we headed to the palace. The guide kept counting the poplin our party and they would not let us thru. it was almost 4:50 before we finally entered as we had 6:60 dinner pond and were told the tour was an hour and a half we could not stay with the tour and ran quickly around the palace on our own. We deserve a refund for this.

Received a message cancelling our tickets and tour at two hours notice!

Very disappointed with this company. Having booked our places on a tour and received a confirming email, on the very morning of the tour we received a text telling us that due to an "electrical glitch" our tour would not be running. They offered another date, or a refund but as this was our last day in Madrid we were left v disappointed. So, I recommend you to find a more reliable company.

Great tour

Jorge was amazing. He was on time, knowledgeable, and funny. I would highly recommend this wonderful tour which was also well priced.

Value is so-so

Tour is okay and pretty quick. Biggest benefit is the skipping of the line to get in. For the cost I didn't think it was worth it.

NOT AS ADVERTISED

I booked this 90 minute “skip the line tour” to remove wasted waiting time on my short break . However I waited in line ( see photos ) for 50+ minutes before access , and was then given a very rushed tour of no more than 1 hour , during which we learnt little about the palace ( either due to guides deficiency of knowledge of the palace or inability to explain clearly in English ). I formally complained to Viator afterwards seeking compensation , to no avail.

Great tour

Great guide! Susana was amazing and very knowledgeable. We loved the palace and at the end went to the armory room. This is a must do while in Madrid

Packed with information and was a well paced tour for such an expansive building. Susanna was an splendid guide and would recommend any visitor to Spain to put this tour on their schedule

Not worth it.

We waited for almost an hour to enter the palace. The guide was knowledgeable, but his English was quite weak. We left before completing the tour. Nothing to do with the tour itself but at the time we went is was very busy in the palace.

Spent over an hour in-line for a skip the line tour.

We paid for skip the line tour but spent over an hour in a line. We saw people cutting the line, pushing past others at the gate, in general people were acting rude and self centered. The rushing of the gate was out of control. I’m very disappointed with this event.

The palace was beautiful and the pace of the tour was good… the speaker system didn’t work well and the speaker/tour guide spoke way too fast

The tour guide was so knowledgeable, he really made the experience/tour so much better.

Our tour guide was excellent! We had a great experience touring the royal palace! We had very friendly and knowledgeable tour guide.

Vanessa was very knowledgeable and we so appreciate the fact that she was bilingual. She was attentive to our questions and translated all questions so that everyone could enjoy!! One improvement I would recommend is to see if there could be better traffic flow between the groups. The constant bumping into one another is just rude.

Our tour guide was incredible and gave us a fabulous history of the palace and of the Spanish monarchy. SHe was well informed and answered all of our questions. This was a great and informative tour.

Interesting

A beautiful palace and very interesting to tour around. I wish they had a few more options to sit in between the various rooms. There is a lot to see and take in and it was very enjoyable. The armor room was very interesting.

Stunning and very large.

The tour guide was very adept at explaining in two languages via ear buds which worked well. He also organized us so that we entered before large groups. This place is quite ornate and wonderful to see. So much art to appreciate. Lots of history to try and grasp.

It sucked I wasn’t there!!!

I was there too late and the would let me catch up with them. So I missed the experience. I also didn’t get a refund from not going in the tour.

Missed the tour because I texted the organizer days ahead about my questions but she never responded, so on the day I rushed to the palace but couldn’t find them, so I asked the palace working staff to call, since I don’t speak Spanish, but in the end they didn’t come to fetch me even though I was right by the entrance

I booked a tour for a January 12 tour and they told me on January 05, that the tour would be cancelled. I told them to immediately refund me, as no other dates worked for me. It is February 29, and I still have not received a refund.

Palace tour

Juan Carlos was very helpful and informative, he helped with all the protocol and made our trip through the palace easy and relaxing.

Great guide, no cue

We were 8 in the group, half Spanish speaking, half English. Guide Susana did a great job guiding us and balancing English and Spanish, so we all got good attention and information. It was very efficient to just walk in the palaca, passing the cue.

Tour could be better

Our guide was rather disorganized and difficult to understand. The Royal Palace is definitely worth seeing but probably with a different tour company.

No more bi-lingual tours

Guide was great! I'm not going to do another bi-lingual tour again. She mastered both languages aptly but the time it takes to wait for the other group to hear the tour in their language isn't time well spent.

Well organized; George was an excellent, knowledgeable guide … and the palace is beautiful! Enjoy music from cathedral afterwards while sitting in the courtyard.

Personalised Guided tour

Can only recommend to have a guided tour of the palace. We were a small group and had Jorge as our guide from Julia Travel. He was great, very clear, informative and friendly. Strongly recommend!

The guide english...

The guide english pronunciation was bad with very strong spanish accent. We booked an english guided tour but the gruop was mixed with spanish and english speaking guests. The lady was switching spanish to english continuously, it was very hard to understand. It would not be a huge problem, but for value for money it wasn't enough. Price woas quite hihg to this level.

Maybe not

Adore the palace but... -Guide was late. -Skip the line does not allow you to skip the line. The company did not have anyone positioned and waiting to get us right in, but instead left us outside to wait in the cold. -Guide had limited knowledge and couldn't answer most questions -Guide rushed us through the 90 minute tour in 60 minutes bc she was late and some members of the group had tight schedules

Highly recommended

This was definitely my favorite tour of our 13-day European vacation for these reasons: (1) Meeting point offered a covered structure with seats, which is rare for tour meeting points; (2) Short and comfortable walk from the meeting point to the palace; (3) You can tell that our tour guide Nacho did his homework and was serious about how he presented information to us; (3) the palace was just gorgeous…magnificent…regal! It is a shame that we were prohibited from taking photos of all the rooms. We are trying very hard to keep our memories of these rooms alive in our minds. Highly recommended!

Royal Palace is great…search for different operator!

We enjoyed a wonderful tour and the guide was outstanding. The tour operator - Julia Travel- was challenging to find in record rains and charged 50% additional fee to reschedule. Highly recommend the attraction, yet suggest a different tour operator.

Great fun

The process of entering was quick and easy. Our guide moved our small group through the palace smoothly giving us good history along with some interesting and funny stories. We highly recommend the small group skip the line early morning tour.

Skipping the line was best part

We did skip the major line but did have to wait at the entrance to the museum and there was no information provided on the walk to the museum so the actual guiding was closer to an hour than an hour and a half. The guide could have told us about the palace or about the family or anything on the way to the palace or while waiting. We were able to get through the palace smoothly and the guide gave some basic explanations and took questions but was not enthusiastic or personal in her guiding. It was better than going on our our own but not much.
